I like to download or stream first, then if I like the album I'll go out and buy it to support the artists.

You're supporting the people involved with the recording process more than the band itself, which is still a good thing :)
The band only receives between 2 and 10% of all sales made from CD's or hard copies of their music. Australia has i think the third highest return rate for artists which is I'm pretty sure 8.6% but their are countries where they get something stupid like 2.4%.
Most of their money comes from ticket sales and advertisement.

Re: e-readers, I like my Nook. :D

Granted, though, there are plenty of times when I'd rather have a physical copy of the book because I really like being able to...I dunno, feel how much more of the book I have left. A bar at the bottom of the screen showing how far in I am really doesn't inspire me to finish a book as much. It took me months to finish a book I'd been on because of that.

Although I do love that it saves physical space. Love it. I brought several boxes of books with me up here when I moved. I'm currently in a small apartment. I haven't even found space enough to unbox and put those books somewhere, let alone any new ones I might buy - so bring on the e-reader to save me some room!

I really like having CDs only because of this super kick-ass (albeit fairly old) stereo that only plays CD/cassette/radio.

And considering radio sucks and the only cassette I have is this, I'll stick to what CDs I burn and buy, lol.

I have a huge library for books, but since I got my Kindle I prefer reading them on that. I do whatever I can to get the books free, though.

There's this book that I'd like to buy - The Signal and the Noise by Nate Silver - but it's an absolute brick and really expensive to boot. If I had an e-book reader thingy, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it and read it on the Tube to work and whatnot: it'd probably be a bit cheaper as well. But I spend most of my day reading stuff on screens as part of my job, so to do it for 'pleasure' wouldn't be the greatest idea in the world for me. I read books so that I don't look at screens! :P

I don't really read actual books much anymore, but with manga I definitely like to have the hard copy in my hand. It just makes it seem more genuine ;3.

As for buying music, I really don't have a cashflow (being a kid and all) so I just stream or whatever :3.

Just going to throw a post here as I didn't post the entire weekend but just dying out of busyness... 6:15 am now, and not done homework. I'm not even taking full course load (since I work as well to pay for tuition). How do the other full-time students manage this?!? x_x;

I really need to eat less snacks inbetween meals... I swear that's what's getting me fat lol. Apples are totally good! It's a healthy alternative :x if it's not so annoying to peel an apple, or that it's not as accessible as candy in a convenient store, I'll totally eat fruits instead of candy at anytime of the day!
