Signature Pokemon

Signature Pokemon are always the highest leveled Pokemon on a key important character's team. That said, some of their teams, even six-party teams from the PWT, rub me the wrong way. I feel that a Gym Leader/Elite 4 member's signature Pokemon should be exclusive to said gym leader/Elite 4 member to encourage type diversities. For example: Agatha should be the only Ghost specialist to have a Gengar on her team, for it's her signature Pokemon. However, because Ghosts have the least common Pokemon in the series, she and the other Ghost specialists (Morty, Phoebe, Fantina, and Shauntel) are forced to share each other's signature Pokemon as fillers for more Ghost types to be included in future gens.Signature Pokemon aren't only limited to Gym leaders and Elite 4 members, but they also include villains and champions. Here is the current list of signature Pokemon per Gym Leader (some are changed if their sig Pokemon have cross-gen evolutions or to best suit them region wise and/or appearance wise):

Spoiler:

Do you guys agree that signature Pokemon should stay exclusive to key-important NPCs?

I don't know if I agree with 'Red: Charizard'.

After all, if you consider the manga canon, he is associated with Venusaur whereas it is actually Blue (guy) who owns Charizard.

I do agree with that. It would be a great way to help identify characters for people that didn't know what was going on. I'm one of those people

I was referring to their game counterparts, not their manga counterparts. Red used Charizard rather than Pikachu in the PWT, and Arcanine was Blue's highest leveled Pokemon.

Personally I think the idea of a signature pokemon is silly. It's more natural for pokemon to be found on multiple characters teams. There can still be plenty variety without forcing a pokemon to be unique to a particular character.

It's like having a worldwide law that nobody except Agatha can use a Gengar, it's ridiculous. It also goes against the reality of the pokemon world where anybody can catch and train a particular pokemon (as long as they can find it's habitat)

Red signature would be pikachu just because Charizard is a starter which means many trainers have it and you can't have only one trainer in the world with a charizard but yea I don't mind gym leaders sharing a similar pokemon if that's the type they like to train what I'm against is trainers with the same pokemon or with the same pokemon family if im battling a gengar I don't want to see a haunter too

Well,I do agree that they should stay exclusive to their trainers but only to a certain extent. It should only go as far as signature moves/abilities as well as certain strategies with that particular pokemon. It shouldn't go too ar or else,it wouldn't be fun having 1 NPC have a specific pokemon.

Somes places are out of order, but it seems okay...

Because I wanted to make sure that none of the key important characters' signature Pokemon is either a pre-evo/full evolved form of a Pokemon from the same line, hence why I changed Red and Brock's sig Pokemon because of Lt. Surge's Raichu and Jazz's Steelix.
