Hey @GoGoJJTech, just to make sure. Was this patch compatible with MrDollSteak Rom Base?? I think I was able to use both some time ago, but not sure about now.

Anyway, impressive work dude ;)

If his rombase does not interfere with the music area or 0x1000000 then it will be compatible.

Worth saying that this is absolutely excellent. I'd say more than that, but you'd rather just keep working at it. :P

C'mon people, this is the music patch of the friggin' century.

Here's a tip. UPS doesn't recognise FF bytes as free space, so just zip up those files. 16 MB files are pretty big. (As a concession, MediaFire's quite fast.)

How can I apply this manually to Fire Red? And regarding to build.bin, it says that I should put it on 0x1000000. Should I assume that I need to expand my rom to 32mb? Thanks!

The way to manually apply it is to use the patch, then add in build.bin.
You don't need the full 32MB, you just need the build.bin.

About the patch, Where offset does it write? I'm using MDS rom base w/ JPAN hacked engine so it might overwrite something, i guess? I was wondering if I could just manually apply the patch so It will be safely applied? I dont actually know. Please enlighten me. :))

and about the build.bin, is it necessary to write it starting from 0x1000000? It seems that it is the end of the rom, and consists of 1 byte only.

Thanks and sorry for troubling you.

The patch only changes engine things. It does not add anything on; that's what the build does.
The build is necessary to go exactly at 0x1000000 because it was compiled to that offset specifically. It contains the gameboy player routine, as well as the data from hgss

So, I opened my rom and checked 0x1000000. Apparently, beyond that byte is empty. should I pastewrite it there? meaning, it will make my rom expand?

EDIT: My image link does not work sorry. try this instead http://postimg.org/image/mbmuq2vmf/

Your rom will expand but it will not be 32mb like you're saying it will lol
And yes, paste it there.

Oh I see. Thanks! Just to ask, is expanded rom not bad? i mean it will be compatible with tools or whatnot?

It will be compatible with all tools, and you won't even touch that area so there is no reason it will break anything at all.

Edit: Looks like everything is functioning properly. Did a mix of your patch and the Kanto HGSS music. Works well!

Well the Kanto HGSS music patch is an old version of this one.. so I'd hope it works well.

This is still really outdated but in due time I'll update stuff and things.

Yeah, it seems to be working correctly. Regardless thanks for this. My only suggestion is to swap vermillion city with lavender town.

Swap it? What's the problem with its placement?

Update de not dead 2015

MAJOR UPDATE
As you all know it's been a long time since there was an update. But the project is far from dead. (Copy and paste from last time)

So soon and stuff and things like soon I'll be updating the download. This update will have:
  1. Ipatix's Mixer ~ High Quality Sound from now on
[*]Fixed Loops ~ No more bad looping
[*]GameBoyPlayer Songs ~ Yep, this patch comes built in with the GBP. You just have to set a flag and play a song, then all of your music is GBP
[*]More Accuracy ~ Instruments now play the same way they do on the DS, meaning that they sound 1:1 with HGSS songs
[*]Fixed Volume Errors ~ Songs like the title screen now play at the correct volume
[*]No wasted space. 0. ~ All assembled in one click, from SoulSilver to FireRed. All automated, so no space is wasted at all.
    [*]Compatibility for ROMs in progress

Just an update, you still have to give me time to import the rest of the GBP.

Love you bro, I was about to patch it on my ROM but I'll wait a bit in order to have a much better version of it. Thanks for the hard work ;)
