Sorry if this ends up a double post, but I have changed the current topic for anyone to answer. I will change it every 7 days.
We'd love to hear your answer to the topic too! :D

Which Ice type trainer managed their Ice types the best in the anime, hmm... Well, I'm very biased to the Sinnoh region for no adequately explained reason, so I'll have to go with Candice on this one! The way she takes a seemingly rubbish Pokémon by nature like Abomasnow and turns it into a big brute of a fighting machine is remarkably well-skilled, even managing to train it to resist a 4x weakness from Fire types. I loved Pryce in the anime and his Pokémon were arguably more interesting than Candice's, but I think the power and skill that she managed to bring out of them was far beyond Pryce's level.

I missed out on the episodes from Hoenn-Sinnoh so I never got to see Candice battle. I thought Prima (Lorelei) did an awesome job raising her Ice types, they were untouchable in the anime. I thought Brycen did an alright job too, just his Vanillish and Cryogonal fell too quickly to Ash. I was impressed by Beartic's Aerial Ace though, wasn't expecting to see that from a Pokémon who is land-based.

I probably have to say Candice as well, she managed to turn hers into pretty strong attackers. Especially her Abomasnow, it's like she trained it so much to even take on Fire-types, which would normally roast it very easily but not to mention it's pretty strong as well. Brycen was no slouch either, especially with Beartic knowing Aerial Ace, a move which most people wouldn't even expect from it. Put up a pretty good fight against Ash's Krokorok until he defeated it with the icicles.

I'm surprised that Pokémon like Snover and Abomasnow having a double weakness could stand up to Fire types. Normally that'd spell certain peril for a dual Grass/Ice type but I'm impressed that they could withstand it to some degree. I found the Stone Edge finish with Beartic and Krokorok a little odd but what can I say, that's the anime for ya.

By the way, I added the Ice-boosting item NeverMeltIce to the original post. Did anyone ever get this item in the second generation games?

I haven't watched the anime that much to see the ice-type specialists in action but from reading what everyone else is saying- it is quite impressive a Pokemon with 4x weakness to fire can easily stand it. I would of thought it'd go down immediately, so for that I'd have to say I'm impressed with Candice. If I remember correctly you can also find the NeverMeltIce in HG/SS, in the exact same location. I did use it eventually, but when I first got it, I stowed it away mainly because none of my current Pokemon had any ice-type moves on their arsenal. All in all it was a very useful item though, when the time came to use it. :p

I think I gave my NeverMeltIce to Suicune or something but I might have given it to Swinub or Piloswine too. I would stow away the type-enhancing items too since I didn't have immediate use for them but wanted to use them at some point.

Welcome to the club. Froslass is a interesting Ice/Ghost combo, just seems to fit perfectly. I loved using Ice Punch in the older games. I think I really only had Hitmonchan learn it but I think I had Jynx learn it too. Ice moves have become a little more powerful with each generation. I like that they have an Ice type one-hit KO move known as Sheer Cold now.

Welcome to the club. Your Infernape lost to Abomasnow? That must've been one heck of a battle for a Pokémon with a double weakness to beat the one type it's very weak against. I love Blizzard, it was one of those moves I wanted to take everyone down with once one of my Pokémon was taught it or learned it.

Ice-type Pokémon question time!!!

Q: How many legendary Pokémon are Ice-types, who are they and what region are they from?
Eep I don't know! There's Articuno from Kanto, Regice from Hoenn, probably a million from Sinnoh based on how many legendaries they introduced but I can't think of any right now, Kyurem from Unova... I'm going with 3? I've probably missed a lot though haha.

I think a better question though is which is your favourite!

For me, it'll always be Regice. He's literally just a huge chunk of ice with battle capabilities, and yet he's so damn cool. It's a Pokémon that many people seem to hate and yet I've never understood why - sure the concept is pretty simple and it's not the most exciting of Pokémon out there, but it's a huge frozen warrior with immense defensive capabilities and it won't take no for an answer when it comes to winning. He had a wonderful appearance in the anime (Lucario movie, rather!) which showed that even a huge chunk of ice can have personality, and his cry was amazing matched only by his sheer power, so it's a Pokémon that I'll always love.

I also love Articuno, but I can't stop thinking that it has a beard which puts me off :(

Correct, there are 3 Ice-type legendaries, that being Articuno, Regice and Kyurem. My favorite of the three would be Articuno, because I'm a Kanto fan and always loved Articuno for it being a pretty Ice-type bird with exceptional power.

CA CAWWWW

Definitely Articuno! Who doesn't love a bird that's depth defying the odds? Birds generally are against the cold if I remember correctly, since they always seem to migrate south for warmer conditions during the winter of the Northern Hemisphere. Plus it's just really cool in it's own way! I've always found its typing nice and its quite unique, Delibird is just.. interesting to be honest. I like its design too, it looks proud and majestic. Although I've got to say, I like Regice as well for being a huge chunk of walking ice, with the ability to dubstep too! It has a lot of raw power as well, but I think my vote goes to Articuno. I've never really liked Kyurem personally, but that's just me.

Welcome to the club. Glaceon's a great choice, one of my favorites too. I am an Eeveelution fan too so it's perfect. :) Articuno has an awesome design and is one of my favorites also. I always thought its wings were blue feathers until I found out they were made of translucent ice. Blizzard is probably the best Ice-type move ever, next to Ice Beam and Sheer Cold. Ice-types are sorely underrated so its good to see that others besides myself like them too. :)

Welcome to the club. I remember wanting a Sneasel and I believe I had one at one point. Beat Up was a good move to use when I had Sneasel in play. Abomasnow, being Grass/Ice, is super weak against Fire but in the anime stood up to Fire attacks pretty well. That takes guts and power. I love Ice-types for their different personalities and their powers, Jynx being one of them, a careful manipulator and secret powerhouse.

Welcome to the club. Never had a Froslass of my own since I don't have the newer/recent games but in the anime, it seemed to hold its own in battle. I also like the Ice/Ghost pairing, very genius. I waited for an Ice-type Eeveelution and when I found out there was one, I was thrilled. Ice Beam was always the first Ice move I taught whomever could learn it, loved its effect and the chance of it freezing my opponent. Its effectiveness against Dragon-types is awesome too. Who would've known?

Froslass is a Pokémon that's always interested me quite a bit. On one hand it's a graceful and elegant Pokémon with decent battle capabilities and a beyond interesting back story, but on the other hand it's supposedly the ghost of a woman that died in the mountains. Training that kind of entity seems... wrong? Haha. It strikes me as a concept they should never have introduced - though it's like Spiritomb too, he's supposedly made of hundreds of dead souls. Does this put you guys off training a Pokémon like Froslass despite her beauty and quirks?

Personally I always ensure to evolve my Snorunt into Glalie to avoid housing the spirit of a dead woman on my team, but I guess I can take these things too literally sometimes paha.
