Answer a Discussion Topic: What Sonic game do you believe is overrated and why?

I'm going to say Sonic Riders for Kinect I believe it's called. Just because you can control the controls and such with your body doesn't mean you "control" the characters........I've tried it and the character I was using when off the edge of the track when I was going forward.......how the heck does that work. Needless to say I returned it. But anyone that says that game is good hasn't played or maybe they got it to work I don't know. I just know it is not as good as they tried to make it seem.

Hey people; been a while in my case....let's get to it.

What is your most favorite Zone out all the Sonic Games so Far? Top 3 and from which game?
This is hard for me personally, since I'm not really picky when it comes to stages/acts/zones. But I'll give three from the 'eras' if that's fine.

Classic Era
1: Green Hill Zone (Sonic 1) - Why not? It's the one that started it all. Strong, vibrant colors, catchy-as-ever music and sent the tone of what a tropical paradise-like area for Sonic to traverse.
2: Hyrdocity Zone (Sonic 3) - The music here alone is why I like this level. It's so damn catchy, especially Act 2. And it's likely the most recognizable water-trope starter in the Sonic series (that people enjoyed...screw Labyrinth Zone. lol)
3: Lava Reef Zone (Sonic and Knuckles) - Storyline-wise this area is important. The tone of the game changes as you go through the insides of Angel Island. The Death Egg's visage plugged into the island's volcano, the Hidden Palace, the mural....man this place is awesome. And the music. Don't forget the music.

Dreamcast Era:
1:Cannon's Core (SA2) - The feel of going through the level with the ARK on it's crash course gave this level a sense of importance. The music helped with that as well.
2: Rail Canyon/Bullet Station - Crappy rail-physics aside, I loved the aesthetic of the level being somewhere in the Grand Canyon of sorts. I liked that trope, and the theme worked pretty well.
3: Egg Fleet/Final Fortress: I love this level, and personally wished Egg Fleet made it in Generations over Seaside Hill. Fighting through Eggman's armada and blowing stuff up...epic.

Modern Era:
1: Sweet Mountain - Cmon, a Zone where the landscape and machinery is based after sweets and pastries? That is a trope that I thought never would happen in Sonic game. The music, a jazzy mix of bass and trumpet, compliment the level fairly well.
2: Crisis City (Modern) - Simply put, what 2006's level would have been like. The violins of the Modern's music made it feel more at home.
3:City Escape (Modern) - More colorful, the music is great and homage to the original, and the G.U.N. truck is more challenging.

Who is your favorite villain?

Eggman, by far. Especially in his recent outings. Yeah he can be a goofball, but think about how he portrayed himself from Unleashed towards Generations. He is still smart enough to outwit Sonic on his best day in the Unleashed opening.Plus, his own sanity slippage in Generations is the icing on the cake. Why that is how ruthless he can still be without degrading to all evil, no substance.

And he was able to control the Monster of the Week for ONCE.

I've been in a Sonic mood lately. Just picked up Generations 3D. It's pretty swell. o3o
Not as good as the HD version obviously, but it's still pretty nice.

What is your most favorite Zone out all the Sonic Games so Far? Top 3 and from which game?
1. Chaos Angel Zone [Sonic Advance 3]
2. Seaside Hill Zone [Sonic Heroes]
3. Water Palace Zone [Sonic Rush]

Who is your favorite villain?
Sonic villains have never been all that memorable to me, especially since most of them are Eggman. xD;
I always liked Metal Sonic, I guess! I've always found his design really cool, especially when I was younger. o3o

What Sonic game do you believe is overrated and why?
Haha, I don't know. Adventure 2? Never played that, so I can't really say anything. xD;
I guess Sonic Generations. It IS a fantastic game, don't get me wrong. Buuut, I feel as though the main reason why people like it so much is because it has zones that they really loved from all the past games. It did have great level design and music, though. I just think that people should save all their gushing for a truly new and good Sonic game.

I also think that Unleashed is sorta underrated. I donno. I really liked that game. xD;
The Werehog stages weren't so bad... I suppose. xDD;;

1.Ice Cap (Sonic 3): What can I say, there's nothing cooler than... well, the cold! lol. But seriously, snowboarding down into one of the most beautifully designed levels i the entire series, what more could you want?
2. Mushroom Hill (Sonic & Knuckles): If Ice Cap is the most beautiful, then Mushroom Hill is the most bizarre! Certainly one of the most fun level's I've ever played in a Sonic game, even if the rest of the game generally infuriates me...
3. Death Egg (Sonic 2): This is gonna sound weird, but I only like this level for it's music, which you can only listen to by not playing the level. lol. But It's so rare to have a technological space song like that sound so haunting. It's awesome!
4. Green Hill (Sonic the Hedgehog): I know it says 3, but how could I not pay homage to the classic, that got most of us hooked in the first place! Addicting gameplay, and great level design, with just the right amount of challenge, it certainly leaves you wanting more, and you don't have to wait long either!

Who is your favorite villain?
Robotnik will always hold a special place in my heart, but I have to go with Chaos. I loved the concept behind him, and he's so well designed. Plus in his perfect form he reminds me of Biolante from the Godzilla series! XD

So how is everyone doing? Did anyone here watch Eddie Lebron's fan film? It was alright for a fan made film, though I was sort of expecting worse than what we got so that's good. However the acting was pretty bad, though DJ Hazard did a wonderful job as Robotnik. The worse thing in the movie is Knuckles' model though, and if you've seen it you know why I don't like it at all. :V

I totally meant to see it when it came out! But I've been procrastinating one it... it was pretty hectic on my birthday (the 10th, when the film finally came out) and then I spent the next 2 days being too tired to do anything, then spent Sunday out with family and came home tired, and now I'm busy with the end of the semester and my exams!

So, haven't seen it, hope to able to sit down with it on Friday! :3

3.Crisis City (Modern): It sad that the only chance to play a good Sonic 06' level was for it to be reworked entirely
2.Green Forest (Sonic Adventure 2)
1.Rooftop Run (Sonic Unleashed)

Welcome, fellow Sonic fans! Glad to see newcomers and veterans alike.

@Necrum, you know, I'm still crazy wishing for Sonic Generations DLC of Ice Cap. It's such a beautiful level, mhm. Since we are all getting 3DS's for dat XY, do you have / are you getting Sonic Generations for the 3DS? Mushroom Hill is pretty nice there!

@DavidtheDeadPhilosopher, I find it very interesting that one of your favorite characters is Chao. Do you like a particularly hero/dark/neutral chao or do you love them in general?

@LilJz1234, very cool, SA2 is one of my favorite games too. How many versions do you have of it (Dreamcast, Gamecube, and another re-release on XBLA/PSN/Steam)?

Did anyone here watch Eddie Lebron's fan film?
I certainly did! I read a lot of the mixed thoughts before watching, but I didn't think the fan film was entirely bad. The GUN soldiers were pretty horrible actors, and the South Island (he's one of 'them') seemed pretty random. The robots and Robotnik were really well done. I got a kick out of Knuckles's hands, hahaha.

@TwilightBlade To put it most simply, if it's a chao I love it. I mean, the chao garden is what gives Adventure 1 and 2 almost all of it's replay value. I just picked up Adventure 1 for the Dreamcast, I'm going to be really hooked as soon as I get batteries in my VMU again lol (and my pokewalker for that matter)

Answer a Discussion Topic(Have you ever played Sonic the Hedgehog 2006?):
I've played Sonic '06, I might just like it cause it's a part of the franchise, but also I just love it because it's really fun.

Have you seen the Eddie Lebron fan film?
Yes, and while I didn't really enjoy it, I did like all the recognizable youtube cameos (AVGN, Brentalfloss, The Nostagia Critic, Egoraptor (voice of one of the robots) )

One of the things that always stood out to me in SEGA titles (Sonic in paticular) has been it's music. Do you guys have any tracks you favor? I have tons, but if I had to pick a favorite it would probally have to be Space Queens

As could I! I'm fairly certain the easier list would be what Sonic Tracks don't I like! :3

I know!!!!, However if there was a game that I would pick for "Best Soundtrack in a Sonic Title" I'd have to say Sonic Adventure 2 (With Generations being a very very close second).

I actually got the Gamecube version and it was also the first game my mom ever purchased for me on Gamecube also. And till this day it remains one of my favorite games that I got. My Chaos are really strong and I got a ton of A ranked missions :P

Answer a Discussion Topic: My favourite game in the series is probably SA2, just because oh my god I wasted so much time in that game. Chao garden and all. And Knuckles's rap songs are freakin hilarious.

I do own a few figures of some characters but my sonic collection is relatively incomplete figure-wise. That's okay though, I don't have much space for figures anyhow with my +100 pokemon figures :U

I love the sonic music, I pump it out of my car MAXIMUM VOLUME, RACING DOWN THE FREEWAY WHILE PLAYING CITY ESCAPE. And yes that is awesome. It makes you FEEL AWESOME.

so has anyone played Sonic Jump? I just got an android device yesterday, I've been playing it for a little bit, and for a mobile game, it isn't half bad.
It's fun! I don't like how it takes absolutely FOREVER to get new characters and bonus content though if you don't want to pay money though... so much grinding, but not nearly as bad as I've seen for some other title's IAPs.

SO YEAH that's all I gotta say about that right now.

My feelings exactly, and there are more competent Sonic Titles on Android (Sonic CD, Sonic 4 1 and II, some of the classic era games) but they don't quite control as nicely as I'd like them too.
