Pokemon Johto Journeys - Dreams and Nightmares

JohtoMap%5B1%5D.png

Johto, the eternal land. Situated west of Kanto and south of Sinnoh, the region boasts the remains of the most ancient civilazation and secrets, if revealed, would change the history of the world forever. . . .
The world shook before you, vicious tremors spread like poisonous snakes. The buildings are crumbling, wails everywhere. Flashes of energy are lighting the burning city.. But who is attacking us. What do they want?
"REVENGE SHALL BE MINE!", a voice echoed. . .
"Fight and you will have a swift death! Hide and you will find death sooner or later! Try to escape and you shall find instant death!", the dark figure spoke in a hiss. . . . Moments later, the city had been destroyed, bands of survivors busy cooperating and hiding.
But where did those men go? Maybe to attack YOUR city next? They are at the horizon. Will you hide, surrender or fight? You gotta hurry, the darkness is closing in on fast! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

ZZZZZ!! Phew, it was just a nightmare. Today is a big day of your life, today you are getting a pokemon from Prof. Elm. It had been always your dream. You get ready, kiss your mom goodbye and headout. But your brain is still trying the nightmare. Nevertheless, you try to forget it and speed up. Would it come true? Your destiny awaits, lets go!

Plot

The vision fades to 15 years ago. . . A boy leaves New Bark Town on an errand for Professor Elm . A red-haired boy steals one of Elm's three Pokémon, and challenges him as the boy's journey across Johto continues. A revived Team Rocket from Kanto, using plans formulated three years prior, enrages many Gyarados, including a red one, at the Lake of Rage; they then proceed to take over the Goldenrod Radio Tower in a desperate attempt to contact Giovanni. When they are defeated and Giovanni fails to return due to Celebi's intervention, the interim leader, Archer vows to never again re-form Team Rocket. The boy continues to gather Johto's Badges, eventually gaining all eight and traveling to the Pokémon League at Indigo Plateau in Kanto, later to defeat the current Champion and get into the Hall of Fame.
But his most notable effect on Johto lies in his ability to encounter all three of the legendary beasts , as well as summon the Unown, Lugia and Ho-Oh after their long absence. A new chapter in the region's history begins. . . .

15 years have passed. The boy, or as his name was in the Hall of Fame, Ethan, helped the Pokémon Rangers and Professors to bring peace and tranquillity to Johto and revive and revitalise the region. Under his efforts and guidance, pokemon from other regions were bred and released into the wild. Foundations of a Safari Zone, Observatory, Museum, etc were made and trade flourished. Johto was booming. Seeing his dream come true, he left for Mt. Silver to face the Greatest Trainer of All Time, Red, but was never heard from again.. Not in 5 years. . . . .

In the meanwhile, one young man watched over the world. His name was Ayleth... Most importantly, he was the son of Giovanni and the younger brother of Silver. Mad at his father's disappearance, mad at Archer's betrayal, mad at the worthlessness of Team Rocket, the silent warrior left off with a few loyal Rockets, ones that would lay down their life for him. Hiding from the world and other Rockets, they and their pokemon began the unimaginable training and technological advancement....

Of course Johto was too busy with itself.

From the ashes of Team Rocket.. Rose the unbeatable Team Neo. Led by the vengeful Ayleth... They are waiting for the perfect moment to strike at the heart of Johto.. And claim what is rightfully theirs. Can anybody stop this madness? Or will Johto burn in the fires of rage? Will Ethan ever return? The Nights begin...

You

Professor Elm, widely known for his vast knowledge of pokemon and compassion, has played a significant part in Johto's development. After getting to know about Team Neo and the re-emergence of Team Rocket, he is calling ten persons from all around the region and beyond who he believes have great potential to become a successful Pokémon trainer. He gives these young people a Pokemon to care for and raise, as well as a Pokedex which they may fill and ten Pokeballs to catch wild Pokemon with.
You are one of the ten trainers selected by Professor Elm, and have made your way to New Bark Town to thank the Professor as well as receive your very own partner Pokémon along with a state of the art Pokédex! You then begin your journey around the region of Johto, visiting all areas within the region on your way to obtaining all eight badges and competing in the annual Pokemon League! On your journey you may meet up with, and even travel with your fellow players, encounter some very powerful trainers, and also fight against some Team Neo and Team Rocket Grunts. But be careful when facing Team Neo, they rarely use Pokemon, instead, they use some powerful weapons that may take your precious partner's lives if you're not careful! They've taken enough Pokemon lives already, someone's got to put a stop on them!

Starters

Prof. Elm has decided to let his chosen trainers a pokémon partner of their choice. All the pokémon were bred at the lab with utmost care and love, so even trainers that have no experience would have no problem with them. He is offering the following pokemon:

Seren read the information on the paper in her hands carefully. Once she finished she pocketed it and looked up at the man in front of her.

"Is the information reliable?" She asked.

"It is, you should head there as soon as you're finished in Goldenrod. Agent Seren, I chose you specifically for this task. Your work over the last several years has been invaluable. I'm confident that you will succeed." the voice said, with a slow authority.

"Yes Sir. Thank you Sir." Seren replied.

The warm morning sun shone down on Goldenrod City as Rosa Seren stepped out of the small hotel that she had spent the night staying in. The streets were busy despite the early hour, and Seren found that she had to weave in-between commuters and shoppers. Pulling out her cellphone she flipped it open and dialed as she walked.

"Support? Agent Seren. We've got a target, yeah I need you to send the chopper, I'm in Goldenrod. R.Z 5? Alright thanks." She flipped the phone shut once she had finished talking and continued onwards.

Reaching the rendezvous early, Seren looked back at the city where she had been born. Goldenrod looked pretty in the morning glow, but Seren had no love for the city. She had been just 14 years old when she ran away, and after 9 long years she regretted none of it.

Seren was just considering that she should really request a flying type Pokémon from support, or catch one herself as it would make traveling far easier, when the tell-tale sound warned her of the approaching helicopter. Soon she felt the heavy down-draft from the rotor blades whipping her hair around her face and rustling her clothes. Once the Helicopter had touched down Seren grabbed the overhead handle and pulled herself on-board. The Pilot handed her a helmet which she put on whilst sitting down. The noise of the rotor-blades drowned out everything, until the speaker in the helmet cracked into life.

"Agent, I almost didn't recognize you in civie' clothes. Where do you want to go?" The pilot said in a familiar voice.

Seren was pleasantly surprised to discover that her usual pilot was on duty.

"Jake, good to see you. Yeah I'm going to get changed during the flight if you don't mind. Just drop me outside rendezvous point 3, I'll walk the rest." She replied cheerfully.

Disrobing and changing clothes during a helicopter flight proved to be more difficult than she had expected, but she soon had her field uniform on. The uniform was distinctly military mainly for practicality, but it also served the purpose of identifying who she was to other agents, and hiding the fact from the public. Most people would actually be helpful when encountering her as they would assume she was with the military.

Her civilian outfit was quickly stowed at the bottom of her duffel-bag which she slung over her shoulder as she stood in the landing-skids of the helicopter, looking out over the trees being buffeted by the descending helicopter. She jumped before the chopper had touched down and signaled to the pilot that she was clear, then turned towards her target, which was visible even above the tall trees in the distance, and began to make her way forwards.

The glaring rays from the sun shone the carved pathways of Mahogany Town. The pebbles gleamed in return, it's soft texture reflecting the light back. The trees swayed on the calm breeze, their leaves slowly falling down one by one. Most of the locals were out, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere that the weather had brought; adults laid on the grass while kids played with either Pokemon or each other.

If it was any other day, Blake would of been cheerful, enjoying his day off in Goldenrod City or somewhere else. Unfortunately, it wasn't just any other day.

Blake strolled inside the rusted gate, keeping his hands firmly into his pockets. His hair for once was well done, and even with the moderate temperature he was wearing a long coat. Blake looked up uneasily, unsure if the baseball cap he was wearing was really covering his face enough. Not to his surprise not many people were around. Sighing, Blake continued walking through the zig-zag pathway. He knew exactly where to go; he had walked the same route for many years now. Leaves crumpled under every footstep Blake took. Most of the trees here had been completely cleaned by the wind and no one had bothered growing new ones, which annoyed Blake greatly. He hated the place. The eerie feeling, the uneasy yet sad atmosphere, the dejected expressions on the faces of people. But he has to come back. He wants to come back. He can't forget him.

Blake slowed his pace in an attempt to calm himself. Emotions always exploded whenever he used to come here in the past. Blake pondered back to the first time he had visited this place. Tears had soaked his face, the salty water dripping down from the chin. He used to be barely able to control his own body, let alone his sorrow. The past few years he had been able to contain himself much better, but his never been as calm as this. Ever.

Blake finally stopped and turned to his right. He brought out a small Iris flower from his pocket and crouched. A tear managed to creep past Blake's defenses and dance down his face, but he didn't bother clearing it. A few minutes later, Blake reached his hand forward and planted the violet blossom onto the soil, his hands trembling while doing so. After it was done, he continued to stare at the dug up earth, a steely expression on his face. And then he stood up. Before walking away, Blake muttered a few words towards the grave, struggling to hold back even more tears.

"Happy birthday, dad."

==========================================================================================================

With every step in the dirt of Route 29, Mari felt displaced. But it wasn't that special, complete kind of loneliness; it wasn't that unique sensation of isolation that seemed to follow her everywhere. There was something different here. As she stood there by herself, nicked and scuffed all over with minor scrapes and scratches, the scent of adventure fresh on her cadmium-orange fur and her olfactory gland full of new aromas and odors to absorb and analyze, Mari realized very quickly that this might be different. There was little to say that she could put to words, whether to herself psychically or with her mouth to someone hypothetically asking her - all Mari could say for certain was that this place felt... Unusual. Not in the sense of impending dread, nor strangely peaceful... But unusual nonetheless.

Mari had never been the type to jump to conclusions; she was far more cold and calculative than that, and everyone who had ever had the misfortune of associating with her knew that much. She was a police report waiting for a date and time in any ordinary circumstances. But this time, she was calm. Collected. At ease. It was so strange -- her blue eyes scanned the forest ahead, and then looked down at the empty, aged Pokeball on her black ballistic-nylon belt, and yet, the thought of making off with a Pokemon and fleeing to another country, or even abandoning the Pokemon to soon be granted to her by Elm the first chance she got, never crossed her mind. Why was that?

Whatever the reason was, Mari was sure that was why the good professor had chosen her, of all people.

Mari wasn't about to question those motives. Questioning things she wouldn't understand had a bad habit of coming back to bite her in the ass not long down the road, and in her state - alone in a country she'd never before visited and knew nothing about - she needed as few things coming back to haunt her as necessary. Preferably none, of course, but the fox knew that was too much to ask for someone of her standing in society. At least she had learned enough at her age to minimize her troubles and keep her head up; something told her deep down that soon she'd be desperately in need of such a... 'talent'.

Was it her nature? Or was it that same cold, distant and logical mindset that had gotten her in this position in the first place, playing tricks on her?

Mari hissed as she stepped forward into New Bark Town from Route 29, and she halted mid-step, her sharp, icy-blue eyes snapping downward to her forearm. A bleeding cut was present, staring back at her, like a slanted red snake-eye staring into her blue ones. With a look of disdain, the fox shook her head; she'd have to take care of these - admittedly minor - cuts and bruises and at least look presentable for Professor Elm for him to place any confidence in the canine. Glancing about the town, she huddled up beneath the awning of a shingled roof nearby, and fished out a Potion from her backpack. Human disinfectants and styptics had a nasty habit of turning a small cut into a bruised, hemorrhaging laceration for Mari; but Mari had quickly discovered that, perhaps in a dramatically ironic sense, equivalent doses of Pokemon medical solutions worked quite well for her. Perhaps not ideally, but well enough, and frankly, Mari would take that over the negative effects that human medical products could bring unto her.

With a twist of the nozzle on her Potion, Mari inspected the cut carefully for debris and foreign bodies. Satisfied, she sprayed the solution directly into the wound; she hissed sharply as that familiar sting of disinfectant worked furiously into the cut, and within moments, the minor bleeding stopped altogether. It was a minor cut before, but now, it may as well have been a day-old healing wound. With no further time wasted, Mari retrieved a simple roll of medical tape from her backpack and got to patching the cut up. Once... Twice, and done. With some liberal spritzing of the Potion around her more 'obvious' bruises and scrapes, Mari was good to go.

With Elm's lab directly across from her, there wasn't a particularly long walk between patching herself up and entering the lab. With a look of distant apprehension in her eyes, the fox looked left, then right, then slowly opened the door and stepped into the lab, allowing the room-temperature air inside to scoop her in.

Archer swirled the amber liquid in his glass slowly as he read over the financial report. The silence of his office would unnerve most people, but Archer himself liked it. As he reached the end of the report he let the stack of paper drop to the table lightly and leaned back, his chair creaking slightly as he did so. The Celadon game-corner was more profitable than ever, and he let a slight smile creep onto his face as he sipped the fiery liquid in his hand with satisfaction.

The speaker on Archer's desk beeped once and emitted his secretaries voice;

"Sir. Agent Seren is here, as you requested." The voice said.

Archer watched the liquid in his glass move as he swirled his hand in a circular motion for a moment and then quietly spoke;

"Thank you Sarah, send her in." He said mildly.

After a moments silence the door clicked open and Rosa Seren entered the room. She closing the door behind her and saluted her superior, but he just motioned for her to take a seat. The young woman sat opposite Archer and he pushed an envelope towards her in silence. The older man observed his agent as she opened the envelope and began to read the information within. She was an excellent agent, and he had been considering her for a promotion for a while now. The organization was still missing an executive, and she seemed to be the perfect fit.

"Is the information reliable?" Rosa asked once she had read the letter.

Archer remained silent while he contemplated the woman opposite her, and sipped his whiskey. When he eventually spoke, it was in a voice that was far more serious than he had previously been speaking.

"It is, you should head there as soon as you're finished in Goldenrod. Agent Seren, I chose you specifically for this task. Your work over the last several years has been invaluable. I'm confident that you will succeed." Archer said, sedately.

He offered the agent a glass of whiskey before she left, which she refused stating that she was 'still on duty'. Rosa stood, saluted and left the office briskly. 'An excellent agent indeed.' he mused as Seren exited his office. Archer set his glass down on the desk and pushed a button on his P.A. system, speaking to his secretary;

"Sarah, have a bottle of whiskey sent to Agent Seren's hotel room." he instructed.

Leaning forwards, he picked up the financial report once again and began to glance at the figures.

"Right away, Sir."

Archer stood with his hands behind his back watching a group of Drowzee behind a sheet of glass. The scientist next to him was reading aloud from a clipboard in his hands. His words were periodically interrupted by waves of which were originating from the other side of the glass.

"Efficiency is up almost twenty percent sir, and we have completely eliminated the issues with the interference" Said the man in the lab-coat.

Archer let a sly smile cross his face as he scrutinized the experiment before him.

"Excellent. Continue testing, another shipment will be arriving tomorrow." He instructed.

Turning on the spot with his hands behind him, Archer addressed the grunt standing obediently beside him.

"Have the helicopter prepared for departure, there is an issue I must attend in Ecruteak City."

It was a half passed seven as a bright and warm early sun was beating down along the lands. Joseph was asleep, dreaming about owning a jetpack when rays from the sun peeked their way through the blinds in his room and landing directly in his face with no regard for the tired sleeper. The bright light was enough to awake the young man, who proceeded to look at the clock. Taking note that he could still be sleeping for some time, Joseph turned over whilst muttering suggestions for where the sun can go that are not appropriate for this forum. Still, this act only delayed the inevitable and the alarm clock little regard to his recently lost dream state.

Groggily, the immigrant arose from the bed in defeat and proceeded into the bathroom in a sluggish gait to begin the morning rituals of proper hygiene. Though it was not on his mind, the fact remained that this may be Joseph's last chance for a while to have a proper shower and a shave. The steam of the shower succeeded in waking his tired body up, and he began to walk around his room more actively to collect his things before he had to checkout of the inn. After roughly five minutes, the small amount of items he had was back in his backpack and ready to go. Before leaving the room, Joseph pulled out a list of items that were essential to the trip, and checked them off mentally to ensure he was prepared for the beginning of the long journey he was about to embark on. Most of the items were related to either outdoor living or medical supplies along with food, with some clothing mixed in as well.

With no more business to be had at the small inn, Joseph paid his dues after a hot breakfast and left the establishment. He looked about the town of New Bark to gain his bearings of the area. Being there for only a few days prior, the landscape was still new to him and it took a few moments to find the laboratory of Professor Elm on foot. The distance from the inn to the lab was a short one, and Joseph was right on time with the schedule he had set himself. Wanting to get this over with, he rang the doorbell and was let in the building by ones of his assistants. While he waited for the professor, Joe took a few moments to look at the lighting, and saw that they were still working after his repair job not a few days ago. It was in this moment of lost thought that Joseph heard the sound of a man loudly clearing his throat as if intending to draw attention upon him.

Turning around, he saw Elm waiting for him with a small smile on his face that made Joe wonder if the old man was being sincere or polite. "Good to see you've arrived, " the professor said in more of an upbeat tone than Joseph that was necessary. He looked at his watch, and in a rushed tone said, "You're the first to arrive. Now come, it's time to pick your partner Pokemon and receive a Pokedex."

Joseph didn't understand the man's hurry, but followed his lead regardless into an office with a multitude of Pokeballs crowded onto a small wooden desk. From the looks of it, the desk looked to be made of elm, which struck Joe as slightly odd, and caused him to smirk for a second. While his mind was getting a slight sense of satisfaction over the trivial matter of the desk, the aged man in the white lab coat lightly prodded him towards the desk and asked him to choose. This moment gave Joseph quite the amount of hesitation. With little knowledge of Pokemon in general, he didn't know which would be a good choice, meaning that opening up each Pokeball to take a look would do the young man no good. A moment passed, and Joseph picked up a ball at random and released his selection in a flash of white light.

Out from its confinement materialized a small Pokemon who had a striking resemblance to a large acorn with raccoon eyes. The little nut made an excited noise and started to waddle about the office to explore. "So…Is Seedot your pick?" Professor Elm inquired. Joseph looked at the little guy who had now toppled over a trash can and started to nudge out a candy bar wrapper to consume what chocolate was left melted to the inside. While he was still unsure of his choice, it dawned on him that he'd have the same reaction to any other creature he picked and decided to stick with the current little rascal.

With his mind set, he replied."Yeah, I pick this little guy. Anything I should know about him, like being allergic to peanuts?" The comment caused Elm's eyebrow to rise until he realized that Joseph was making a funny. Even so, the professor still replied in a professional and informative fashion to give the new trainer knowledge for the future instead of making idle jokes.

"No, he's not allergic to any foods, but you would do well to keep him away from Bug-types, Fire-types, Poison-types, Flying-types, and Ice-types. And when he evolves, you should keep him away from Fighting-types. Here, " As he spoke, Elm walked over to his desk and pulled out a small device and then walked it over to Joe to hand it off. "This is a Pokedex, it has all the information you need on most Pokemon you'll encounter. It's updated by data other trainers compile in the field, so you should stop by Pokecenters frequently to update its content. Read the instruction manual if you have any questions on how to operate it. Now, I think you're all set to go."

After the professor finished his small ramble of information, Joe couldn't help but blurt out questions even if it seemed the man wanted to shoo him out the door immediately after being handed his first Pocket Monster. "Whoa whoa whoa! Didn't you say last time that there'd be other trainers I'd be traveling with? And I don't know the first thing about being a Trainer!"

Elm removed his glasses and began to clean his lens as he replied to Joseph's inquiry. "Yes, they will be here shortly, but I told all of you different times so you all wouldn't be fighting each other over which Pokemon you received. You'll meet them either out on the trails or in the next town. And if you want to know the absolute basics, here it is. The more battles they get into, the stronger they get. Throw pokeballs at weakened wild Pokemon to catch them. Use types to your advantage and don't push them too hard. The rest you'll learn either along the way or your traveling companions can answer your questions. Now, if you'll excuse me, there's much work to be done. I wish you the best of luck, and remember to visit Pokemon Centers regularly."

Before Joseph had a chance to ask anything else, one of Elm's assistants handed him a sack of pokeballs and escorted him out of the building with Seedot in tow. Now outside the building's walls, Joe looked down at his large acorn friend and said. "Well, looks like it's time to leave. Ready?" The Pokemon happily spoke his name and started to walk, forcing the new trainer to take a few large steps to take the lead and direct his nutty new friend in the direction of the town's exit.

Rosa tilted her head to gaze up at the tall pagoda in front of her. The wooden structure rose high above any of the other buildings in the small town, and although it bore signs of age there was also a sense of endurance about the construction. Seren lowered her eyes to the wooden door ahead of her, and began to push it open. The door creaked to a close behind her as she stepped into the calm quiet of the ground floor. A large central pillar rose, swaying slightly into the rafters and the floors above. The opening of the door was noticed by an elderly monk who approached Seren placidly.

"Welcome young lady, are you here to climb the tower? One may find appeasement through the labor of climbing, if that is what they seek." he said, bowing.

For a moment Rosa regarded the room around her, dust swirled in beams of sunlight filtering in through from windows high above and the pillar creaked quietly as it swayed. As her eyes settled on the monk she let a smile edge onto her face. It was a well practiced smile that instantly conveyed the appearance of a care-free polite young lady.

"Appeasement? Oh no. No, I just wanted to take a look from the top.. Would that be alright?" She asked innocently.

The monk smiled back at Seren. Her smile was infectious and always instilled trust and friendship, after years of practicing, Rosa had it perfected.

"Naturally, the stairs are just at the back. Feel free to take as long as you need, however do be wary of wild Bellsprout, the warm weather causes them to become more active." He replied.

Bowing once more, the monk turned and walked to a small table at which he sat down with another monk. Seren Let her smile linger as she strolled towards the stairs, looking around with interest at the architecture.
Once she had climbed onto the third floor, she dropped the persona and instantly became more focused. Walking faster and ignoring the sights around her she worked her way steadily up the tower floor by floor. She passed no other monks and saw very few wild Pokémon. Regardless of this, when she emerged onto the seventh floor she was on guard, ready to reach for a Pokéball if needed.

Spotting her target easily, she strode towards the elderly man in robes.

"Welcome child, can I help you with something?" he said, rising to his feet.

"I'm here for the Terra gem. I'm not asking, I will take it by force if I have to." Seren said bluntly.

The elder looked shocked for an instant but quickly replaced this look with a slight frown. For a moment he all most looked like he was going to deny that he understood what Seren was saying, but he wasn't that foolish. Slowly the elder walked so that he was directly opposite Seren. Although they were separated by at least five meters, Seren remained on her guard.

"I am elder Li. I am the sixteenth elder so far and the sixteenth person to be given the responsibility of protecting the Terra gem. The gem is my charge, and I can not let you take it." He spoke, pulling out a Pokéball.

Although the elder had reached for his Pokéball first, Seren's quick reactions didn't fail her and both Pokémon appeared at the same time. Seren's Houndoom landed battle-ready and the elder's Bellsprout barely had time to acknowledge it's surroundings before it was hit by a jet of flame at Rosa's command.

"Idris, use smog and then get up close!"

The charcoal coloured canine obediently opened it's mouth and began to billow out dark smoke, obscuring the view of it's opponent as well as the elder. Houndoom jumped into the haze as the elder commanded his Pokémon to move to a new position. Unfortunately for him, dark types have a knack for knowing their surroundings when they can't see, and that was a talent that Bellsprout lacked. The grass type tried to flee to a new location but ended up running directly towards the waiting Idris.

"Idris, firefang!" Seren called after giving Idris enough time to locate Bellsprout.

There was a cry from within the smoke, and Idris emerged from the cloud, walking towards the elder snarling.
The smoke began to clear and the elder withdrew his defeated Pokémon. He reached for another Pokéball in shock but was cut off by Seren.

"I will burn this tower to the ground, old man." She said fiercely.

Li faltered and let his hand drop in defeat. He knew that after that performance he wouldn't be able to defeat her with his remaining Pokémon and Seren's threat was something he couldn't risk. The tower was more than a landmark, it was a home for hundreds of wild Pokémon, and he knew that well. The elder reached inside his robes and drew out the gem. Seren had expected an emerald stone that shone brilliantly, but was actually presented with a dull-green gem. What it lacked in hue it made up for in complexity. The gem was translucent, and within there was thousands of minuscule veins and crystals of dark green. Seren held out her hand in silence and the elder, after hesitating for just an instant, let it fall lightly into her hand with equal silence.

"No good will come of this." he said turning away.

Rosa recalled Idris and began to descend the tower.

When she got to the ground floor the monk that had conversed with Rosa earlier opened the door for her.

"Did you enjoy the view miss?"He asked friendily, unaware of what had occurred seven floors above.

Seren gave him another charismatic smile and replied;

"The view was lovely and you were right, I did find appeasement." Rosa answered.

She bowed to him and walked out of the door into the sunlight of Violet City. Pulling out her cellphone and hitting speed-dial, she began to walk away towards the center of town.

"Agent Seren, ready for extraction."

Avril McDougall

Avril looked round New Bark Town. She seemed interested in the fact the slightly wooden structure would be useless against a rage of flames. She smiled and held onto a lighter she just got, her parents had only just started to find out about Avril's unhealthy obsession with fire. They only found out when they discovered Avril in the kitchen attempting to melt kitchen utensils. They took a lighter she had, they didn't dare search her room and find out exactly why there was always a burnt smell near her room. It took alot of persuading to get her friends to get her a spare lighter. Anastasia was more than willing, but she couldn't get one. The only reason Gerard supplied Avril with one is because he was terrified what Avril would turn to as a substitute.
Avril went over to the water and sat down for a while, she looked at her reflection. The blue streak in her hair was brighter than ever. She wore both her nose and lip piercing. And where her ear was stretched a bright blue hollow plug to match her hair. She took out her lighter and kept flicking the flame, the orange glow entranced her. She burnt a small daisy and watched as it turnt into ashes. Then more grass set alight, so Avril panicked and spalshed water on it. She got up and left the burnt patch smiling.
"Hurry up already!" Avril said banging on the door of the lab, she was quite impatient. She jumped back when the door swung open. It was one of the lab assistants, with a less than pleased look on his face. "Sorry, but you did take forever" Avril muttered pushing past into the lab. She went straight to the Proffesor, who was standing by a table with some pokeballs on the top. "Hi, I'm Avril. And I'm here to get a pokemon!" She said.
"Hello. I'm Professor Elm" The professor said smiling. "Well take your pick at the pokemon" He said pointing to the pokeballs. Avril grabbed one and opened it, and a yellow thing appeared on the floor. Avril looked at it and frowned then returned it, the second one she picked up contained a green thing with a leaf for an head. Avril frowned the only joy she could think was that the leaf could be set alight, she then returned it. The 3rd one held a small red pokemon, Avril was just about to return it then her face lit up. It breathed fire, it was only little but it was fire.
"DO THAT AGAIN!" She demanded the small pokemon who breathed some more fire, Avril smiled. "AGAIN! AGAIN! TRY AT THE TABLE!!!!" She shouted, filled with senile excitment.
"I would much rather you didn't...." Professor Elm said, but it was too late the pokemon charred the desk. And the professor sighed.
"AWESOME!!!! OK I'M PICKING YOU!!!" Avril said, and turned to the professor, "I want this one"
"Ok well that's Magby, he is a fire type as you could guess" he said, the word fire and the recent display tweaked his memory "Ah yes, Avril I spoke to your mum..." He said, he was now worried about giving Avril a fire type, but she was persistent on having Magby.
"Yeah, she probably said I was some sort of Physco! Don't worry I haven't hurt anyone" She said "Well not seriously" She muttered. "So, this Magby's mine?"
"Well yes, remember fire types are weak against, Water, Rock and Ground. Here is your pokedex and pokeballs" Professor Elm said handing Avril the pokedex and 5 pokeballs.
"Not that I'm that fussed, but I swear there was meant to be more people" Avril said "I mean look there are more pokeballs" and indicated to the slightly charred desk which still had a burning smell to it.
"Yes, but you all had to come at different times, to stop fights over pokemon" Elm said "You where the second here, you will most likely meet them on the next route"
"Oh, well see ya! Hope you like the desk" Avril said with a smirk and ran to the door holding magbys pokeball. She made effort to bash into the person who opened the door for her earlier. "PEACE!" she said as she ran out doing the peace sign and laughing hysterically.

Faris Miller - New Bark Town

Faris took a deep breath of the fresh, pure air of New Bark Town. Today was the day he would get his first pokemon, and the day he would take the first step on the path from guardian of Violet City to Guardian of humanity. He grinned at the thought of a day when there could be peace and justice for all. Eager to begin that quest, Faris went directly to professor Elm's lab and knocked on the door. After a few moments of waiting, he was escorted in by the aide and brought to a table on which were several pokeballs. Something strange that Faris noticed was that a portion of the table was burned. Perhaps one of the earlier arrivals was a little over-excited about their new pokemon and decided to try out it's moves here in the lab.

"It looks like I'm not the first one here," stated Faris knowingly. "I assume the others were satisfied with their choices?"

The professor gave a light chuckle. "That last girl seemed especially satisfied. Anyway, I'm professor Elm, and the choices for your first pokemon are on that table. Pick whichever one you like." Faris began sending multiple pokemon out of their pokeballs at once, making sure to keep track of which ball belonged to which starter. "Wait, hold on a moment!" All the starters were now running around the lab, some of them fighting, others toppling lab equipment; the lab seemed like it was in general chaos. Faris held up his hand at the professor as if to say "Stop, I know what I'm doing," and looked intently at each pokemon. He wanted to see how they each behaved, for he would need a partner who was loyal and stalwart. Faris began recalling the more rampant ones back into their balls, leaving the calmer ones for him to choose from. After passing his eyes over each one, his gaze settled on one in particular.

The Houndour had sat still throughout the whole scene, and remained so even now. Houndour was a dark and fire type. Dark types were typically seen as evil creatures, but Faris believed there was no such thing as an evil pokemon. Furthermore, fire was considered a tool of destruction that brought about pain despite the fact that it was also a source of light and warmth. Through fire, humanity has been able to advance and bring about all sorts of miraculous creations. Both those things were misunderstood, much like himself back home. Faris returned the rest to their balls and told the professor, "I choose this one."

Professor Elm looked a little shocked at Faris' selection process, but he proceeded as normal. "Uh, yes, of course. Keep him away from water-, ground-, rock-, and fighting-types. Take these too, they are your pokedex and pokeballs. I hope your Houndour helps you much on your journey."

Faris half-listened to the professor as he continued, too distracted by his new pokemon. It shouldn't be much of a problem, since he had already learned all that in school. Once the professor finished, Faris responded with, "I'm confident he will." He turned to his Houndour. "Now, what shall I name you." he pondered for a moment before saying, "I know, your name shall be Flame of Justice!" Both the professor and the Houndour gave him strange looks. "Righteous Inferno?" Houndour tilted his head while the professor let out a sigh. Faris began to think of other suitable names when he remembered a story. It was a myth from a distant land about one who defied a god to help mankind by bringing them the god's fire. This gift saved the people and brought them happiness, but their savior was punished by the god for his theft and was bound to a rock. Despite this, he never once regretted his actions. He had been willing to sacrifice himself for the good of all mankind. "I shall name you Prometheus!" Houndour let out a bark in approval and the two partners left the lab, ready to begin their journey.

Blake took a sip of his mocha, peacefully staring at the world outside the local cafe he was in. The glorious sun of earlier had faded a little, but it was still a fine day. The events of an hour ago was still lingering in Blake's mind, but he had calmed down quite quickly. He knew he had to move on, and he had, sort of. After completely finishing his coffee Blake stood up and went to leave when suddenly a blonde-haired woman came to stop him just before he could leave the front door.

"Yo, Blakey-boy, wait up!"

Blake turned to face the direction of the the voice. "Eh? Who's that?" The blonde replied with a light punch on Blake's arm, frowning in process. "Aww, it seems like Blake has forgotten all about me ever since he got promoted. How annoying..." Blake tried returning with a cheeky smile as both of them left the cafe, but it turned out to be a failed attempt. The girl noticed this and her small frown turned into a worried face. "Wait, is something wrong Blake? You don't look so hot." Blake changed his expression quickly and let out a reassuring smile, saying "It's nothing Susie, I'm fine. How's err, Raz doing?"

Susie pondered whether or not to press Blake what the matter was for a second, before putting an annoyed face and facing away from the red-head with her hands on the back of her head. "Raz is still how he used to be; annoying and noisy. At least you were cool and laid back. Raz boasts about every little mission he completes, which bothers me a lot. Still," she added, "he does miss you, and I do too. How's life up top?" "It's not much different to being a grunt," replied Blake, "obviously I have special privileges in terms of Pokemon and assignments are much harder but except that I'm just doing what I've done most of my life. I also got a special gift from Archer-" Blake reached down his belt to reveal a Pokeball and flashed it towards Susie, "It hasn't completely trusted me yet, but I'm sure one day we'll understand each other."

"Speaking of Archer, I didn't come here just to chat with you, though obviously I did want to catch up on some stuff," Susie said, remembering why she actually came to meet Blake, "the boss wants to see you. He probably figured that I wanted to talk to you. Before you say something," Susie continued, planting a finger onto Blake's lips before he could speak, "I don't know what it's about. I doubt "The Masked Man" would tell a grunt confidential information. He didn't sound angry, so I doubt it's anything serious. Probably someone else getting promoted or something."

"Well, thanks for telling me then; it was my day off, but I guess I'll leave for base. Send my greetings to Raz, eh?" "Don't worry, I will. Go kick some ass, homeboy!" With that Blake waved goodbye to his former teammate Susie before leaving towards a heavily guarded building. He didn't know why Archer wanted him, but it couldn't be anything terribly bad.

Scott - The ruins of Alph

Scott ate his sandwich slowly, munching on it, but focused on the discussion of his team mates. He had had such a long day, the ruins of alph was a very big place, and the last thing Scott wanted was for a newbie to be making fun of him. The large rounded rock that he was using as a table shuddered for a second, tipping his bottle of water before Scott caught it one handed, and continued to eat his sandwich. He wasn't bothered by the noises he heard from outside, as they were usually landslides, or the drills in motion. As he finished his last bite, he stood up and wandered around the a corner in search of peace. he sat down in a small rounded hole, and lay down. The stone was cold and tickled his back softly. He pulled out his torch and hung it from one of the nooks on the ceiling, before bringing out his phone. He clicked a few buttons, and held the phone to his ear as it started to ring, and then there was a voice.

"This is Admin 3 speaking, who is this, and state your business."
"This is Agent 2 speaking sir, you requested that I call you at this hour."
"Indeed I did, I have a mission for you."
"Yes sir, what are the details."
"It has been reported that Professor Elm of Newbark town has been giving away pokémon to trainer's in order to bring us, and team rocket down."
"Ugh, let them, Team rocket won't be able to beat a rookie trainer like that, even in mass numbers."
"That's what i though your reaction would be."
"What do you want me to do sir."
"I want you to control squad 4 that is currently situated in the ruins of Alph, and I want you to stick your grounds, for now, as my theory is that those trainers will be making their way there anyways. Ambush them. I have also sent along agents to supply you with electrical weaponry. It's the latest model we want you to try out."
"Yes sir, understood."

Scott hung up, and rose from his corner. He stepped into the room where squad 4 was held. There were 4 men and 3 women with him in his team, that makes 5 men altogether including himself, and 8 agents altogether. He was cautious not to say anything too cocky, for his overall attitude may disgust his team members. He needed to be seen as a person who wasn't bothered by anything, which in all fairness, he wasn't.

"I have been appointed leader of this squad."
"Yeah, yeah, we know, we were just told by the radio," one of the men said, sort of sarcastically.

That was embarrassing. He sat down upon a smallish kind of rock.

"Were you told the orders?"
"No, he said you would tell us."
"Well, we must stick to our post here and wait for the several newbie trainers, which are expecting to bring us down, and ambush them, then I presume we can either hold them for ransom or kill them."
"Those are the guys that are also gonna take down team rocket too right?"
"Yes, that is correct."
"Then why don't we tell them our plan, and say that we know you would lose to these newbie, so pay us money and we will take care of the problem?"
"Do you really think that Team rocket would give up to something like that? Good thinking though, I'll put in a good word for you."
"Thank you."

So the plan was set, and Scott was set, and his team were motivated, surely nothing could go wrong...

Graham Chandler
Leaving Home Again - C1:P1

Mornings in Celadon city are always pleasant. There's a perpetual east wind that carries the sweet aroma of the grass Pokemon that live in the fields, and forests nearby. This morning was no different than any other, however it's been three years since the last time Graham woke up with the intent of leaving home, and not coming back for a while.

"YYYYEEEEHHHHHHHHRRRRRR!" Graham yawned, head turned, arms outstretched as the last bit of air escaped from his lungs.

Looking at the digital clock on the nightstand to his left Graham whispered to himself "Oh my goodness. Today's the day, huh?" Slowly rising from his bed Graham awoke, and trudged towards the bathroom down the hall.

He started to undress then turned the shower on. Wasting no time Graham grabbed his toothbrush, and squeezed a fresh layer of toothpaste onto the head of his toothbrush. Holding the toothbrush carefully he then proceeded into the shower. He began to brush his teeth as the water beat against his skin, and the steam filled the bathroom walls. The tension in his muscles started to release, and Graham quickly became enveloped into the steamy, moist comfort of the shower. Time had passed, and soon Graham was squeaky clean. Turning the faucet off he stepped out of the bathtub wrapping himself with a towel. Instead of putting his toothbrush back on the usual spot, above the vanity, he carried it out of the bathroom with him. He then walked out of the bathroom, closing the door behind him.

Graham put the toothbrush into his bag, and started to dry himself off carefully. He scrambled through his closet for a bit before he found his favorite outfit; he took out what he wanted, and got dressed. He looked around his room for any useful items that he could take on his journey. There wasn't too much that would be of assistance to him so he packed lightly included some things like his wallet, Pokedex, some band aids, potions, and his sunglasses. Graham reached over to the nightstand and grabbed his watch, he put it on then looked at the time; It was 10: 39 AM right about time for him to get going. He grabbed his bag, and hurried off downstairs.

Reaching the bottom of the stairs, a familiar voice came from the kitchen. "Graham?" His mother, Lucia, questioned rhetorically.
"Yes mom?" Graham replied instinctively, looking around for where the voice came from.
There was a short moment of silence before she replied. "Come into the dining room. I have something for you."

Graham walked around the corner into the dining room hoping to see his mother there, instead he discovered a fresh plate of breakfast, and a hot cup of tea. Graham smiled, and asked "Is this for me?" ogling the food on the table.
Lucia walked out from the kitchen with a cup of tea, and a small blue box with a bow on it. She replied "Yes honey. Eat."

Without hesitation Graham dropped his bag, and sat down beginning to stuff his face with food. Lucia sat down at the table, placing down the cup of tea first, then the box. She looked at Graham and started "First of all slow down." Graham looked at her innocently, dropped his fork, and started chewing slowly.

She continued "I know you're leaving again today, and I'm excited for you. This time you're going to be a lot further away from home than the last time you left. You know I trust you, and I know you're going off to do great things in the Johto region. I just want you to be safe." She took a sip of her tea, and so did Graham. He continued to eat, and she started again.
"I want to make sure you're staying out of trouble, and I want to make sure we stay in contact so I got you something." Graham's eyes drifted towards the blue box as he took his last few bites, and nodded in excitement.

He stood up, and brought his dishes to the kitchen sink. Quickly rinsing them off, he put them in the dishwasher, and walked back out to to the dining room area.
"Thanks mom, I really appreciate it." Graham said sincerely as he picked up the box off the table.
Lucia stood up, and responded "Go ahead, open it."
Graham pulled the ribbon, and lifted the top off the box. Inside was a brand new Xtranciever, the new model in a sleek graphite black color. Graham put down the box, looked at his mom, and told her "I love it. Thank you."

The two hugged, and she suggested that he try it on. While Graham was fiddling around with his new device Lucia stated "I had it activated at the Department Store yesterday. My number is registered in there, so feel free to call me anytime. I'll be calling you later on tonight to see how everything is going." She smiled, and took another sip of her tea.

The two looked at each other endearingly, and hugged again. Lucia, grabbed the Pokeball off the wall console next to the door, then asked "Are you ready to go?"

Graham picked up his bag slinging it over his shoulder, and in reply Graham nodded. The two of them walked out the front door together. Lucia, handed Graham the Pokeball, and smiled. Graham looked down at it, and paused. This was the same Pokeball he received from Professor Oak three years ago. He hugged the ball tightly in his hand then threw it up into the air exclaiming "Go, Charizard!"

At an instant a bright flash of light emanated from the Pokeball, and Charizard appeared in front of Graham, and his mother. "RRRRRYYYYYYUHHHH!!" Charizard roared, as it stomped around, flapping it's wings, stretching like it just woke up from a long night's sleep.

Graham ran over, and hugged his Charizard, then said "It's good to see you buddy."
Charizard hugged him back, and licked his head in acknowledgement. Lucia walked up to the two, and stated "Newbark town is Southeast of here, you'll be flying for a while before you get there, but it's not a far trip."

Graham smiled, and handed the Pokeball back to his mother. "Thank you for everything mom. I'm sending Charizard back after I arrive at New Bark town. I'll call you sometime later tonight, alright?"
She nodded, then replied back with "I love you Graham. Take care of yourself, okay."

"I will." He replied, hugging his mother tight.
She smiled, and shed a tear, wiping it away quickly, as if Graham didn't notice, but he did. At that moment he shed a tear too then walked away in the direction of Charizard without looking back. Charizard crouched down, as Graham climbed onto it's back, and asked "Are you ready?"
Charizard nodded back, then flapped it's wings as a strong gust of wind arose. Graham waved goodbye to his mom, and at an instant, the two took off, flying into the horizon, soaring over Celadon city, heading towards New Bark town.

The Professor Diaries- Chapter I: Part I

The calm north wind made the curtains flutter, bringing in a sweet aroma of flowers. But the aged man in the room sat motionless, a silent agony well visible in his eyes. Prof. Elm. had a tough night. He shook in his chair as the vision haunted him. . .

After getting a call from his aide, he had flown to Route 45 to see the incident. Literally hundreds of Donphan lay dying, the nurses doing their best to save them. The whole area had been blocked by police officers but being such an important person as well as a prominent name in his field of work gained him instant permission. They checked a blood sample from one of the pokémon... Naturally Donphan's are one of the toughest pokémons, yet they lay in such a state is a surprise to everyone.

"519 ppm of X4N7 detected!", the sample tester came to life. The nurses looked at it in shock as everyone knows that it is the strongest non-lethal neurotoxin ever known. Having such high doses inside the body is way more than the conspiracy theory Officer Jen had proposed...

"So th-they have started it al-already..", his incoherent words were cut of by someone's wails...

"Phan.. Pha.. Py!", a Phanpy constantly poked his dead mother. Shaking off the few drops of tears, Prof. Elm motioned the nurses to take away the poor pokémon, otherwise it would die from dehydration. . .

A familiar voice broke his dazed state. "May I come in professor?

A smile spread on the his face, "I was expecting you Kiba. Please have a seat.

Elm's Lab

Chapter One: Part One
An Icon's Undercover Arrival

"I was expecting you Kiba. Please have a seat."

"Thank you, Professor." The young man entered the room, his figure concealed in a slate-blue cloak, and a large, pointed fedora-like hat that some may recognize is worn by the Sirs, the Aura Guardians. Gloves and boots matched his bluish attire. "Johto... I never thought I'd be stepping foot in our sister region again anytime soon." While most of his features were concealed, a soft grin shown under the rim of the hat. This grin faded into a solemn line, however. "Things have been picking up lately. News has been spreading quickly, even in Kanto. Neo and Rocket, a deadly force. Goldenrod Radio is eating it up."

"Most civilians shrug it off as a conspiracy theory, until they are attacked by them." Ki was the one speaking this time, the colorful-eyed Lucario rested beside Kiba in his chair, kneeling as his eyes slowly shut. "Something needs to be done, and fast, or this will get too out of hand."

"Right. Professor, will the new arrivals be here soon? We need to get this plan underway or I fear it may be too late..." Kiba sighed, relaxing against the mildly rough chair.

"I sense some new adventurers are indeed headed in our direction... Perhaps they are these trainers you seek?" The Gardevoir stood to Kiba's other side.

Froslass rested in his arms, and a curious Flareon was (almost immediately) at the Professor's shoes, sniffing.

Scott - Undercover

"You think this is a joke?" Scott spat at his team mates as they were gossiping about how far the newbies would go.
"Sometimes you disgust me." Scott peered at the several members in his squad. He was bored and irritable, and just couldn't stand waiting, and his squad weren't making it any easier for him. He turned his head away from the group, before grabbing a bottle of cider from the cooler. He couldn't believe that they all had to stay in this place until the newbies showed up, it almost seemed as though ikt was intentional. He sipped at his drink while his team gawped; a still silence. No words came out of anyones mouth for a minute.
"I think we ought to change our plans a little bit..." Scott turned to check the expressions on everyone's faces. They were all still, not a word.
"Hmph, I'm surprised none of you decided to question me," Scott groaned.
"Well you are the boss, and we are kinda tired, it's been a really long day."
"Well you're all in luck, for I say we go on a little field trip. Of course, some of you will have to stay and take care of incoming radio signals, that will be Jenny and Tokito."
"Do we get to go later?" Jenny groaned.
"Indeed. But for the rest of you, our destination is Violet city, I have some jobs for us all to do concerning the violet city gym. Oh and wear casual clothing, this is an undercover mission, we don't want to stand out." As Scott finished he placed his drink on a rock before heading outside the cave for some fresh air. He definitely needed it. He could feel a warm breeze blow across is face and it calmed him a bit.

Next time -
The group set off for Violet city by car, trying to act as less suspicious as possible. As the group arrived in Violet city, their first stop was to book a room at the pokemon center.

The door closed with a muffled 'click' as Rosa stepped into Archer's office. Before taking a seat, she opened the leather pouch on her belt and drew out the dull-green stone and laid it carefully on the desk in front of her. Lifting the gem lightly and holding it close to his face, Archer spent a full minute examining it before setting it down and smiling.

"Exceptional work agent. I must confess that this task was the perfect opportunity to test you." Archer said softly.

Rosa sat when Archer gestured whilst he spoke, and she raised an eyebrow in surprise when he mentioned testing her. Seren's quick mind ran through the possibilities and settled on the correct answer just as Archer confirmed her suspicions by speaking again.

"I would like to offer you an executive position. I'm sure that you are aware of what will be expected of you, and I personally think that you are more than capable of excelling. Naturally there will be certain responsibilities, and of course benefits." Archer said.

He added the later part with a smirk, he knew his agent well and was fully aware of her fondness for alcohol even if she did her best to act professional and mature as much as possible.

"I would love t-" Seren began jovially.
"It would be an honor sir." She added in a more refined manner.

Archer chuckled and pulled a suitcase from under his desk. Setting it on the desk he opened it and turned it to face Seren. The locks clicked open and revealed a velvet lined interior containing a single Ultraball.

"As I'm sure that you are aware, executives receive a Pokémon upon their appointment. I think this one will suit your needs nicely, and provide you with a useful method of transport. She's a very competent battler too. Archer said mysteriously.

Seren took the Ultraball with intrigue and thanked her superior for his confidence in her. Clipping the ball to her belt along with her others, she stood and saluted.

"You have earned it agent. You have the rest of the day for celebratory-leave." Archer informed her.

Seren pulled off her jacket, kicked off her boots and after hopping around ungracefully with one foot caught momentarily in her trousers, threw them onto the chair. Without bothering to finish getting changed, she let herself fall down onto the soft comfortable bed of her Goldenrod-Inn hotel room. Rosa would have been perfectly happy to lie there for a while if it were not for the annoying hard corner poking into her back. Rolling over she found that there was a parcel on her bed, addressed to her.
The package was brown, with black tape around it and on the label a single red line. Immediately recognizing it as a package from Team Rocket, Seren sat up and tore the parcel open.

A small bottle of whiskey rolled out onto her lap along with a paper note which fell to the floor. Setting the bottle on her bedside table, she picked the note off the floor and unfolded it.

"Agent Seren.
Congratulations, we look forward to working with you.
-E.P. & E.B."

The note was signed E.P. and E.B. which Seren recognized as the two executives, Proton and Blake. There had been others before them, most notably Ariana and Zero. Ariana had left with Giovanni's child and Zero had been killed in the line of duty. It was Zero's position that Rosa would be filling and she knew that she had a difficult task ahead of her as Zero had been an exceptional agent. She set the note alongside the bottle and grabbed her belt which was still attached to her trousers, hung over the chair at her desk. Pulling off two Pokéballs and one Ultraball, Seren first released the two Pokéballs into the room. The familiar shapes of her two Pokémon materialized and both greeted her happily. Houndoom stood alert and combat ready, but upon realizing that they were not in a battle situation relaxed a little. Lairon gave a low 'Laiii' and trotted over the the corner to sit down.

"Hey guys, I want you to meet a new team member. I haven't even met her yet, thought it would be best if we all did it together." Seren said.

She turned the Ultraball in her hand lightly thinking back to what Archer had said. He had mentioned that the Pokémon was female, and would be useful for transport but hadn't given any more clues. Curiosity overcoming her, she released the ball to the open space on the floor.
The large bipedal dragon type appeared, standing almost floor-to-ceiling. It gave Seren a expectant look as if it was awaiting an instruction. She was clearly a well trained Pokémon, she had the same obedient stance that Seren's Houndoom had.

"Wow, hey Flygon. You're bigger than I expected. Uh.. I'm your new trainer, but we're not battling now so you can relax." Seren said, a slight falter in her voice at the sheer size of her new partner.

The Flygon turned her head to give Seren another gaze, however after a moment she relaxed and lay down in the center of the floor. Curiously, Idris the Houndoom followed by Calx the Lairon, both approached the new arrival and began to converse in their own languages. Rosa took this as a good sign and decided to leave them out for a while so they can get better acquainted.

"Well, I'm going to take a shower so you make yourselves at home." Rosa said, as she grabbed a towel and headed for the bathroom.

The automatic mechanism of the sliding doors triggered as Blake stepped into Archer's office. He remembered the first time he had came here; it was when he was promoted from Grunt straight to Executive. Most members were given the lower Admin role after significant performances in missions as a Grunt, but Archer had thought that Blake had the utmost potential to become a great Rocket Executive straight away after seeing good leadership and relationship with his fellow comrades. Blake obviously didn't know this though, and had always wondered why Archer had so much faith in him.

"Ah, Mr Talyor. Do take a seat please," Archer started with a little smile. "I take it that you are not thirsty?"

"No boss, not at all." replied Blake in standard formality. Although because he was an Executive sometimes his missions came straight from Archer and so they have had a few conversations in the past, Blake always made sure to talk as standard as he could when it came to 'The Masked Man'; he respected Archer and his role in the entire Rocket gang, and so dared not to step over the line whenever possible.

Archer leaned back on his chair, sipping what seemed like scotch whiskey. "Come on Mr Taylor, don't be so stiff; we all know each other here. First thing's first - I've promoted an Admin into Executive to replace the deceased Agent Zero, and she will be operating as of tomorrow. I've given her a leave for the day so that she could celebrate her new role. Are you familiar with Agent Seren?"

Blake frowned, unfamiliar with the name spoken. He had heard of Seren a few times in conversations but he had never met her in person. "No boss, not really. Heard about her a few times from mouth but that's the extent of it." Archer leaned forward to place his glass on the wooden desk. "Well, that doesn't really matter, I'm sure both you agents will meet somehow and exchange formalities. And don't worry about sending a congratulations gift; I've made sure to include yours and Proton's names in a little special present. Anyhow, that wasn't the main reason why I pulled you out of your day off. I'm aware today's not the best of times to assign you to a mission, Agent Blake, but recent news from one of our sources has said that we have found someone who can give us more news on the gems that we are looking for."

"His name is Adam Rees, a researcher who's currently studying ancient myths and lore of Johto. We are curious to see what he had found out in his studies, and if there's anything of interest I plan to help him with resources to further his research with exchange on any information on the gems. Any other info will be in the mission brief, which-" Archer stopped for a second, typing something on his laptop before clicking a few times and then returning to Blake, "-has been sent to your e-mail as an attachment, with his whereabouts and such on it. I expect you to go over the brief tonight and carry out the mission out tomorrow morning. I'm confident you won't let me down, Agent Blake."

Blake nodded with a studious look, processing the speech in his head. Take a few years back and Blake wouldn't have been emotionally stable to handle even a simple assignment, but now a mission as important as this was a perfect distraction. "Understood, boss. Consider it done." Archer's smile extended as the crooked man stood up and extended his hand. "Excellent, Mr Taylor. Always confident in your abilities; that's what I like about you." Blake returned the compliment with a little smile, shook Archer's hand, before leaving the office.

Graham Chandler

Arrival in New Bark - C1:P2

After flying for roughly an hour Graham, and Charizard began to descend towards the ground. They landed in New Bark Town right in front of Professor Elm's laboratory. Charizard made a smooth landing, and Graham, rubbed the back of Charizard's neck, slid down, then jumped off gracefully hitting the ground. He walked around Charizard, and stood in front of his old friend. Graham looked up and briefly said "Thank you, buddy." He then took a step closer embracing his Charizard tightly.
"Please get home safe," He pleaded, "Take care of Olivia, Cole, and mom for me too. Make sure you start training with them; I want to be able to battle with them next time I come home. Alright? Charizard, smiled, and let out a low growl confirming Graham's commands.

Graham stepped backwards, and so did Charizard. "I'll call to see that you got home safe later, okay." Charizard nodded then began to crouch as he was ready to return home to Celadon city. It begun to flap it's wings, and a strong gust blew across the area. In an instant he took off, Graham waved goodbye, then turned to find the laboratory door opening slowly.

A vibrant voice filled Graham's ears before the door fully opened "You must be Graham!" A young woman no older than twenty appeared in front of him. She had a creamy, pale complexion with flowing golden-blonde hair. She stood confidently in her short white dress, and brown gladiator sandals.

"That's me." Graham smiled, and reached out to shake her hand. "Who might you be?" He asked.

"My names Daisy. I'm one of Professor Elm's lab assistants. Come inside, let's talk more." She said suddenly, grabbing Graham's hand, and dragging him inside.
As the two walked through the atrium, Daisy remarked "You're a cutie. What are you doing out here in Johto playing with Pokemon for?"
Graham shrugged, and replied "I could say the same thing to you."
Daisy blushed, and giggled a bit. They stopped before a spiral staircase. When Daisy yelled up the stairs "Professor Elm! I have Graham Chandler down here!"
A loud crashing noise came from upstairs, and the professor's voice echoed through the lab "Great! I've been expecting him! I'll be downstairs in a minute! Keep him company until I come down there."

Daisy smiled, and turned to Graham "Let's go have a seat in the Solarium." Daisy pointed in the direction of the back of the laboratory, and the two walked towards the sun room.
Daisy insisted "Have a seat. I'll grab some drinks for us." Graham nodded in delight, and Daisy walked out of the room momentarily. Graham looked at his watch; it read 12:01AM, and he began to sink into the comfortable sectional, as Daisy returned to the room with two filled glasses.

"You like lemonade?" Daisy asked, handing Graham a cup.
"Of course! What kind of question is that?" Graham exclaimed, the two laughed, and sipped their drinks at the same time.
Graham continued "Thank you. The lemonade is delicious."
Daisy blushed, and her dainty cheeks lit up. "You're very welcome. And thank you! I make it myself." Graham couldn't seem to keep himself from smiling like a fool every time Daisy spoke. She was enchanting, and had a sweet air about her.

Daisy twisted her golden locks, and asked "Where are you from?"
Graham threw his thumb over his shoulder like a baseball umpire, and replied "Celadon City. How about you?"
"I'm from Goldenrod City. Just another city girl, you know." Daisy twirled her hair around her fingers, and started again "So, I saw the Charizard you were with earlier. Is that yours?"
"It is." Graham announced. Taking a quick sip of his drink, he started to explain "Three years ago I started a journey through the Kanto region doing the gym challenge. My starter Pokemon was a Charmander, and he's grown up a lot over the last three years."
Daisy grinned, and questioned "So why didn't you bring him along to Johto with you? Having fully evolved Pokemon would help you breeze through the Johto gym challenge with ease."
Graham chuckled then responded "I know, it was a tough decision, but I've spent a lot of time with my Pokemon, and they've served me well. Coming to Johto is like a fresh start for me, and I'm ready to travel, and build relationships with new Pokemon in this region."
"Well that's very admirable of you Mr. Chandler." Daisy stated, gently embracing Graham's arm. "Do you have any other Pokemon?"
"I do! They're all currently at home with my family. To name a few I have a Machamp, Tentacruel, Clefable, Electrode, and Dodrio. They're all a handful, I love them though. How about you, what Pokemon do you have?"
"I have a few. Right now I only have Ampharos, Bellossom, Skarmory, Marill, and Pineco. My first Pokemon was Mareep. I got it for my fourteenth birthday, and we've been best friends ever since." Daisy shuffled behind her lab coat to grab a Pokeball. At that moment Professor Elm walked into the solarium.

"Hey there! Sorry I'm late. I was upstairs working on an experiment and things went a little haywire. It took me to bit of time to clean up, but things are clean, and I'm down here now talking to you guys now. Jeez, it's a little warm in here, don't you think?" The professor paused to take a breath, when Daisy stood up and quickly stated
"Professor, this is Graham. He's here to pick up his new Pokemon."
"Oh that's right! Graham, it's a pleasure to finally meet you in person." Graham stood up at the professor's attention, and the two shook hands.
"It's a pleasure to meet you as well," Graham stated "When do I get to choose my new Pokemon?"
Professor Elm winced, and announced "Unfortunately," Graham's expression changed at moment's notice, "You won't be getting to choose your starter this time around. I started taking Trainer applications a while back, and the other nine starter Pokemon Daisy and I bred for this trainer cycle are already reserved by other trainers. I do have a special Pokemon just for you though. I'm sorry you can't get to choose, but I'm sure you'll love Chikorita." The professor patted around his waist area, and came up dry.
"Give me a minute, I have to go find her. I'll be right back." Elm hurried out of the solarium, and the sound of shuffling papers, and opening drawers filled the halls.

Daisy whispered, "If you can't tell he's a bit of a scatterbrain. He's an absolute sweetheart though, and I've never met anyone with a more genuine interest in Pokemon." Daisy sighed, and took another sip of her lemonade.
"Can you tell me more about Chikorita? I don't know too much about the species." Graham admitted, scratching his head.
"Sure." Daisy answered. "Chikorita is the Leaf Pokemon. It's a grass-type, and is a small green Pokemon with a large leaf on it's head. It also has two evolutions; Bayleef, and Meganium. Chikorita is a sensitive Pokemon ,and relies heavily on the sun to survive so make sure you allow it plenty of time outside it's Pokeball to sunbathe."
"Thanks for the info Daisy, you sure do know a lot about Pokemon."
Daisy blushed, and lightly pushed Graham's shoulder "That's my job silly. I want to be a professor someday so I have to know as much about Pokemon as possible."

Professor Elm walked back into the room "Found it!" He stepped towards Graham, and handed him the Pokeball. "Go ahead, she's all yours." Graham grabbed the ball, and clenched it tightly in his hand.
"Go Chikorita!" Graham called out pointing the Pokeball to the middle of the room.
"Chikkkooo, Chikorita!" Chikorita smiled, and pranced around in a circle. Graham giggled, and crouched down.
"Chikorita, my name's Graham. I'm your new owner. It's nice to meet you." He held out his arms, and the Chikorita jumped in graciously. Daisy, and Professor Elm smiled as they watched the two become acquainted with each other then Professor Elm started to speak.
"Graham there are a few things you should know about this Chikorita," he paused for a second "It's Jolly natured, and is very playful. This Chikorita enjoys sweet foods, and dislikes dry foods. She's also equipped with the Overgrow ability. When Chikorita's health is low it's grass type moves will work exceptionally well. Unfortunately right now it only knows three moves as far as I'm concerned: Tackle, Growl, and Hidden Power. I haven't tried to battle with it, so I'm not sure what type the hidden power is, but when battling try using it, and see what it's effective against."

Graham stood up, holding Chikorita in his arms "Thank you Professor, I'll take great care of this Chikorita."
Professor Elm nodded, and answered "You're welcome. Please come back sometime, and show me how big it's grown after you've journeyed for a while. I have to get back to work though, Daisy could you show Graham the way out please?"
"Yes sir." Daisy replied as the three of them walked out of the Solarium. Professor Elm headed back upstairs to his office while Daisy, Graham, and Chikorita walked towards the front door of the lab. They reached the door when Daisy instructed
"Stay here for a second, I have something for you." Graham looked at Chikorita with a puzzled face, and whispered
"I wonder what it could be." Chikorita's eyes light up.

Daisy shortly returned with a small brown box, She opened the top then explained "Every time we give a trainer a new Pokemon, and send them off on their journey we give them a new Pokedex, five Pokeballs, and two potions. These are for you. Graham accepted the gifts and put them in his bag.
"Thank you Daisy, you've been such a help today. I can't begin to thank you enough." Graham remarked looking deeply into Daisy's bold, lime-green eyes.
"It's no problem. Cherrygrove City is the closest town to here, and you can get there by going west through Route 29," Daisy pointed out "There are many wild Pokemon in the tall grass, and they'll try to attack you if you disturb them in their territory. Be safe out there, alright?"
"Affirmative." Graham grinned. "Chikorita, are you ready to go?"
"CHIKA! CHIKA!" She responded, and the two walked through the front laboratory door.

"WAIT!" Daisy's voice came barreling through the door. "I noticed your Xtranceiver. Register me in your phonebook, and feel free to call me anytime you have any questions, or if you're lonely and miss my pretty face." She grabbed his arm, and fiddled around with his Xtranceiver. "All done! Good luck Graham, I know you're going to do great things in the Johto region. Seriously call me; I want to see you again soon. Maybe we'll meet up again sometime after work? Or we'll get together next time you're in Goldenrod City."
Graham hugged Daisy, and surprised her with a swift kiss on the cheek. Her eyes lit up, and her cheeks flushed a bold pink tinge. He held her shoulders and said
"Thank you for everything Daisy. I'm glad we met, and I'm sure we'll meet again, sometime soon at least." He paused, then stepped back. "It's time for me to go now."
Daisy smiled, and nodded in delight. "Good luck." she said, as she waved watching Graham, and Chikorita stroll off in the direction of the Route 29 entrance.

Daisy walked back into the laboratory sinking against the back of the front entrance door. "He's so hot." She whispered to himself fanning herself with her hand. She then walked over to her desk, and started typing away at the computer. "Back to work." she said, settling into her chair, and taking the last sip of her lemonade.

AYLETH

"Okay, keep him steady baby!", the voice gruntled, "Yeah, that way." The Rhydon trembled slightly while the rockets did their utmost to damage it with everything their pokémon could. Despite that, the pokémon suddenly rose up and took a dash down the mountain trail.

"NOOO!", Archer's clenched his jaws and looked at Ayleth, his whip coming down on the poor boy."

"Graaah!", Ayleth sprang up on the bed, the sheets wet from all the sweat. His eyes instictingly roamed to the lovely pokémon who sat by the bed. Gardevoir. His Gardevoir.

Dark images began to float inside Ayleth's mind, finally ending at the very point he woke up. "Yeah.. I had a nightmare. How are you doing Lu?" he smiled at her. Lu had since started to communicate with him using psychic powers, all possible due to the strong bond they share.

Within an instant he could see beatiful flowers growing down in a valley, groups of pokémon playing in the grass.

He frowned slightly, "You visited the Rein Valley today. Aw, thats too far.. And dangerous, rocket patrols are frequent in that area. You could be captured. How can I. . . Wait", his words were cut short. Lu was looking at his eyes, her hand gracefully opened a few buttons of his shirt and rested upon his heart. Moments passed by, the only sound heard was heavy breathing...

She smiled at him, or that is what Ayleth felt. She took his hand in her arms.

"Wait, uhm, Lu what are you doing?", Ayleth was getting a bit uncomfortable.

She again looked at him, he felt that she wanted him to let himself in. Ayleth's muscles softened. She took his hand again and pressed them on the horn on her chest. He could feel it vibrating.

"It-It is your heart!, he grinned, "Awesome, I never knew the horn was your heart. I wonder what is in it."

Ayleth saw himself in the vision. He smiled, "Yes I know. We are best friends. . . I gotta take a shower, see you!", he patted her and went off to the bathroom, taking a towel off the rack.

Watching him vanish into the showers Lu hung her head, a clear disappointment in her face. "We are more than best friends!", she whispered to herself and floated away to the kitchen.

Rosa emerged amongst a cloud of steam and vapor from the shower and after toweling her hair so it was partially dry, threw her towel onto her bed. Aside from the pressing matter of getting dressed, she was at an utter loss for what to do. Archer had given her the day off for 'celebrations' but Rosa had found a long time ago that she rarely knew what to do with herself when she wasn't on duty. The same applied for her attire, after putting on underwear she grabbed a pair of jeans and a plain green vest and got dressed. She felt strange when she wasn't wearing her uniform, but she was comfortable enough.

Once Seren realized that she had sat around doing nothing in particular for the last half an hour, she decided it would be best if she made the most of her day off and so, she grabbed her pokeball-belt, returned her team and headed out into the late-afternoon sun of Goldenrod city. It was uncommon that Seren found herself in the position of a civilian, wondering around the city leisurely but it wasn't all bad. After purchasing some late lunch from a street-vendor Rosa managed to find a small bar which she was entirely unaware of until that moment. Curiosity piqued, she stepped into the 'White Stantler Bar'

The bar was almost empty but the couches and armchairs dotted around the tables gave it a homely and welcoming feeling. The two men at the pool table looked up as she entered but soon turned their attentions back to the game. Rosa made her way to the bar which was being tended by a slightly portly looking man.

"Just a Glass of whiskey please." Rosa said as she looked around the bar.

There was a variety of decorative beer-mats hung above the bar, including one which caught her eye. The deep red border surrounded a cream background which had a fierce looking Flygon holding a tankard on it.

"You got any I.D. lass?" the barman asked in a heavily accented voice.

Rosa would have been annoyed at the question if she wasn't so accustomed to it, and simply handed him her trainer license in silence. Her youthful looks would be something to be desired by most women, but in her mind at the age of twenty-three people should no longer be asking her for proof-of-age. Rosa remained at the bar whilst drinking and after a little struck up a conversation with the barman.

"That beer-mat, the Flygon one. You got any of that?" she asked out of curiosity.

The barman hesitated and then disappeared behind a door. Rosa listened top the noise of the barman shuffling boxes around behind the door for a while before he returned carrying a few dark-green bottles with red caps.

"Aye, 'Green Lizzi' one of my favorites actually..." The barkeep said looking at the bottle.

Seren bought both herself and the barkeep a bottle of 'Green Lizzi' which seemed to make the barman very happy.

"Ah, thank you indeed lass. What made you choose this beer, if I can ask?" He said whilst uncapping the bottles and passing Seren hers.

"The beer-mat I guess. I just obtained a Flygon myself and the design caught my eye. I think I will call her Lizzi actually." Rosa replied.

The beer was quite pleasant even if Rosa usually considered herself 'more of a whiskey person'. They conversed about various things from Goldenrod to ales whilst they drank and after a while the barman changed the topic back to Pokémon.

"So, you flown on 'er yet? Meaning your Flygon that is." He asked.

Seren hesitated for a moment before answering slightly quietly;

"I uh... No not yet. To be honest I hadn't worked up the nerve yet... Although... One more whiskey please." She said, sitting up straight and determined.

The barman chuckled as he turned around to poor the amber spirit from the bottle, and slid it across the bar towards Seren.

"Liquid courage eh? Heh, good luck lass." He said, as Seren downed the whiskey in one, paid her tab and left.

Rosa blinked as she re-entered the afternoon sun, and had forgotten in the dim light of the bar that it was still relatively early. She strolled through Goldenrod savoring the tingling feeling in the back of her throat from the fiery spirit, and made her way towards the outskirts of Goldenrod and the starts of route 34.
Standing in an open patch of grass she pulled the Ultra-ball from her belt and released Flygon into the open air. The Pokémon straightened up sniffing at the air when she was released and then turned her head to locate her trainer.

"Hey Flygon, how are you? I was thinking about a name for you, what do you think of Lizzi?" Rosa said.

She pulled the 'Green Lizzi' beer-mat from her pocket as she spoke. The barman had given it to her before she left as a thanks for buying him a drink. The Flygon examined the beer-mat curiously and then opened her mouth happily and let out a loud 'Fllly~' in response.

"Heh, glad you like it Lizzi, now I was wondering.. Would you like to fly? With me on your back I mean." Rosa asked, still slightly nervous.

Lizzi lowered her head and neck to the ground instinctively for her trainer to climb on. Rosa approached slowly and extended a hand to touch the tough scales on Lizzi's neck. She swung her leg over and positioned herself at the base of Lizzi's neck with her knees hooked in front of Lizzi's wings.

"Uh.. Okay, could you take it a little slow to begin with 'cause I kinda- WHOAH!" Rosa was cut short as Lizzi straightened up and rocketed into the air in an instant.

Panic soon gave way to exhilaration as the pair sped upwards at an incredible speed. Rosa let out a yell of joy as her hair whipped around her face, and she slightly slackened her tight grip around Lizzi's neck. Looking down Seren could see a cloud of dust whirling far below from where they had taken off. Unable to stop herself from smiling, Rosa leaned closer to Lizzi's neck to become more aerodynamic and whispered;

"Faster!"
Fixed Float!
