Littleroot Town

"Littleroot Town... now, this town is even more dull than Oldale! I didn't know that was even possible."

The small girl put her hands on her hips as she stood before the sign that marked the beginning of Littleroot. She walked with quick, determined feet through the streets, wondering why there were hardly any roadsigns at all. Even Oldale was civilized enough to have signs! Finally, she found a sign in the town's center - or what she assumed was the center, there wasn't really anything that said so or made it look important in any way - which directed her to the laboratory of professor Birch. Grinning, she started walking even faster in that direction, her dark mantle flowing behind her in an almost ominous way.

The laboratory was at the edge of town, with its own garden and a few side buildings around it. It looked too quaint to be a high tech lab, Arla thought, but since she really wanted to get a pokémon, she just walked up and rang the doorbell. An assistant to the professor opened up and she was shown inside.

The professor had already given out some pokémon this day. Arla hoped that she wouldn't be too late and get something ugly. Or even worse... something WEAK. She didn't want to ruin her journey before it had even started. The pokémon the professor showed her weren't too impressive, actually. There was a Slugma, a Zigzagoon and a Phanpy. While the latter sure held promise for becoming strong at some point, Arla hesitated. The pokémon played with each other in the lab's garden while Arla and Birch stood by and watched.

"There is another one," Birch said. "But it's a bit odd, haha."

"I can deal with odd!" Arla said. She felt almost stricken when he had laughed after saying that. She was a bit odd too...

"But it might take a firm hand to get this one to-"

"I'LL TAKE HIM! Where is he?" Arla said, interrupting the researcher and looking around for a fourth pokémon dozing off somewhere.

"Alright... He is over here," the professor said and led her to a pond in the garden.

"A water type?" Arla said, furrowing her brow as she sat down and leaned over the water. Her face reflected in the surface of the pond. Until something jumped up at her from below, taking her by surprise and making her scream. She was thrown backwards onto the grass and when she raised her head to look, eyes wide, she saw that a blue ball of fat was sitting on top of her stomach, giggling frantically.

"It's this one?" she said, sitting up and picking up the creature, holding him at arm's distance. He was quite heavy for being so small. Must be all the fat.

"Yes. That's Spheal," Birch said, raising his hands apologetically while the other pokémon flocked around his feet to curiously watch what was going on by the pond. "He is quite immature."

Spheal blinked with its black, round eyes at the pink haired girl, who looked a bit disgusted. But she wouldn't reject a pokémon just because it was a bit different. We are all immature at some point in our lives. This one might just need a firm hand to get on the right track. The track towards greatness!

She stood up, still holding the Spheal, who looked like it was wondering what was going on. "I'll take him," Arla said, making everyone in the garden surprised.

Route 101

Not long after that, Arla was back on Route 101 again. She had no intention of staying in that dull down for longer than necessary. She needed to be on her way already! And she needed to train her... um, pokémon. Holding up her hand, she examined the pokéball inside it. Beneath its red lid, a little sea lion pokémon was. In energy form, of course. Could she really make that thing strong. Well, she needed to try. She sent the pokémon out of its pokéball and it materialized in the tall grass next to the road. He looked up at her expectantly.

"First of all, we can't call you Spheal. That just doesn't have a nice ring to it," Arla said and then thought hard. Spheal raised an eyebrow at her. "Banko! Your name will be Banko. No objections."

Banko didn't even seem to think about objecting, he simply stuck his tongue out like a dog and looked happy. Then his tongue went inside his mouth all of a sudden and he froze, as if he was listening closely.

"What? Do you see a wild pokémon?" Arla asked, throwing herself down onto the ground beside her pokémon and looking out into the grass. She couldn't see anything... wait! The grass rustled. There was a wild pokémon there!

"Alright! We will battle it. Banko?"

The Spheal started behaving like a dog again, even letting out a barking noise. Arla shook her head. He wasn't just immature, he seemed to have identity issues as well. Hoping that her pokémon hadn't scared away the wild one already, she pulled up the pokédex that professor Birch had given her and analyzed the Spheal. His ability was Thick Fat and his known powers were Defense Curl, Powder Snow and... Aqua Ring? That sounded interesting. Arla didn't really know what it was, even though she was a pokémon training phantast. Better test it out.

"Banko, use Aqua Ring!" she said, standing up fast.

Banko obliged and closed his eyes. From his body, a number of small lights erupted. They floated out into the air and formed a ring around him. Then they stopped glowing and Arla noticed that they were actually flying orbs of water. Huh, what's the point of that? Before she could examine them more closely, a wild pokémon sprung out at them though. It came like a cannon ball out from the grass - and it kind of looked like a cannon ball too.

Banko was hit by the surprise attack and rolled around on the ground. When he came to a stop, one of the orbs orbiting him suddenly flew at him and was absorbed by his body. He opened his eyes with a more determined look. Arla gasped and let her pokédex read his data.

"They... heal you. Aqua Ring is a passive healing move! That's amazing, really."

The creature that had scared them was a Seedot. Arla didn't need a pokédex to identify it, but she let the machine read its data anyways. Better register everyone she could! Now, what could her pokémon do against that? It didn't look too intimidating actually. It's eyes were a bit creepy, but it was even tinier than Spheal.

As she was thinking, the Seedot's body suddenly stiffened and shimmered. The pokédex that she was still pointing at it, informed Arla that it was the attack Harden. The most passive attack there is.

"Hah, we can show off our defenses too. Banko, Defense Curl!"

Banko's body shimmered now, and he curled up into an impenetrable ball of fat, face not even visible. The two pokémon stood there, flexing their hardened, curled bodies... and Arla felt that this was completely pointless. A battle cannot be fought with passive attacks alone. She sighed.

"Change of strategy. Powder Snow, Banko!"

The Spheal curled up and gave Arla a confused look. But he would have shrugged his shoulders if he had had any, and just went along with the orders. He inhaled and blew out a stream of white powdery snow straight at the grass type, who obviously was rather weak towards this. Hardening one's body won't make you warmer in a snowstorm. Seedot started shivering as its face got covered by snow. But it didn't back down just yet. Instead it suddenly dashed forward and headbutted the ball of fat hard in the side. It rolled over several meters again... but another orb form the aqua ring healed some of the damage after not too long. Still, he seemed to have gotten hurt this time.

Arla once again made use of the pokédex, which pinged and told her that the Seedot had used Bide. A move that took the power from an enemy's attack and paid it back double. Since the snow move seemed to have hurt it a lot, that Bide would have been quite hard on Banko now...

"Heh. I thought it would be boring to battle with weak, low leveled pokémon. But you guys are really quite interesting!" Arla laughed, content. "I will capture you," she added towards the Seedot, who jumped at her words, as if terrified.

"We'll have to take it out in our next hit, so that it won't have time to use Bide and escape!" Arla told her pokémon, who pulled itself together and inhaled. "That's right, Powder Snow!"

The snow attack hit Seedot in the back, as it had just turned around to flee. This time it was enough. The wild pokémon had to pay for having jumped and scared them earlier. It fell down, covered in snow and shuddering. Arla wasted no time, throwing a pokéball and watching the pokémon get sucked inside as energy.

"Hey, Banko," she told her Spheal as they were watching the pokéball roll on the ground, blinking. Banko looked up with his innocent black eyes. "You're not too shabby."

Eli, Geoff & Isla - Route 102

"Wait, where're you goin'?" Geoff asked. Lily didn't answer; she'd already run off. Almost about to spit out an expletive, Geoff shook his head and realized the albino-looking Surskit was his to have! (Of course, that was a horribly hollow victory since Lily just totally quit on him.)

Sadly, he'd never have it. It managed to scurry away in Geoff's confusion.

"Well," Eli started, "that sucks."

"There goes your Surskit, huh?" Isla wondered.

"Why do you think she left?"

"No clue."

"Maybe she's going to challenge the gym leader in Petalburg City."

"Wouldn't fighting Norman right now be kind of a death wish?"

"People like a challenge sometimes." Eli was decent evidence of that, failing to awaken the Burst Heart in her pocket many times before meeting Professor Birch. It's not like she's actually done it now, it's just that she hasn't tried since.

"Who's Norman?" Geoff asked. Isla was the first to answer. All of a sudden, the lights of the universe all seemed to turn off at once, one only illuminating Isla from below as ghostly sounds started to fade in and out of Geoff's ears.

"He comes from a world of endless darkness, where no trace of humanity exists. Should you dare enter his unholy, forsaken domain, you shall find yourself unable to escape with your sanity intact...."

"I thought he came from Littleroot Town," Eli continued. And the lights were back on, though Geoff's legs were shivering while trying to look less scared.

"Wasn't that what I said? Anyways, shall we get going? I don't feel like camping."

Eli, Geoff & Isla - Petalburg Inn, Petalburg City
Eli:

OCzaX.png

"Alright, sir, here are your room keys." Geoff was handed a pair of passcards labeled 109 and 111. The trio walked down the hall all the way to the end, and when Geoff was about to bring Eli into his room (you know, guys in one room, girl in the other?) a cleaning lady stopped them.

"No," the maid said.

"What?"

"You sleep alone, señor."

"What? I can't be in the same room as Eli?"

"No... no... pervert sleep alone...." She lazily emphasized the "pervert" part, nudging Eli into Isla's room instead. At first, Isla thought it was odd, but she was happy she could get some quality time with the guy she planned on sticking around with. Disappointingly, that time has yet to come, because after they set their things by the neighboring beds, Eli grabbed a towel and announced she was going to see what the bath was like.

"I'm used to bathing alone; sorry, Isla." With that, she headed off to the part of Petalburg's lake that'd been closed off to become a hot spring. Isla went to distracting herself by playing with Brotad and her other Pokémon. Geoff, in the meantime, was arguing with the maid — Consuela — about how he wasn't a pervert.

Sighing in bliss, Eli almost fell asleep from the heat and comfort as the soothing water engulfed her within the mist of her surroundings. Derpy the Psyduck paddled about in the water, occasionally splashing Albion and trying to get him in the water. Vex stayed near the door, away from the water but close enough to enjoy the heat. Leaving the constant "Psy" and "MIAU" aside, it was the perfect place to relax and forget about her duties as a trainer and Quinn's kid. Annoyingly, it still pricked her thoughts for a couple of moments — questions like, "Why the hell won't you let me in?" and "WAKE UP!" hit her and escaped her in the relaxation. Eli managed to get so peaceful, it was almost like she was in another world for a moment.

No, she was. She found herself very aware, and in a very odd place. The ground was grassy, but felt like mud; the sky was clear, but it felt like rain was pouring down. A scarlet flash came from ahead of her, so she followed it to a small silhouette. It looked kinda like a Poochyena, but it had a poofier tail, more pronounced ears, and a wispy fur style on its head. The silhouette jumped into the air and the scarlet flash appeared again, this time leaving Eli looking at herself. The environment changed with the light. This time, the ground was just solid rock and felt like snow, while the skies were storming and Eli only felt a mild breeze.

"Who are you?" Before the Eli imposter could answer, the real one woke up from her trance from the sound of Geoff's grumblings.

Less than 5 minutes ago

"Mr. Pervert sleep alone...."

"I told you, I'm not a pervert!" He just wasn't getting the hint, and he was starting to disturb the few other patrons in the inn. Most of them were women, disgusted by Geoff the Pervert now. As Consuela kept pronouncing 'No' over and over again, always including the word "pervert" at least once in each of her sentences, Geoff was getting each time more angry, and it could show in his face; and the air surrounding them was getting more dense, so much that you could nearly slice it with a kitchen knife.

"I. Am. Not. A. Per. Vert," he slowly pronounced trying to not lose control.

"Si. You are," she replied with a rather dopey tone, almost as if Geoff was talking with a wall.

"I... Just, screw it, I'm wasting my time here," he finally muttered. "I'm gonna go take a bath." Geoff went into his room and grabbed a bath towel, leaving Consuela to her work as a professional idiot to have a little relaxation in the spring.

"Adios, Mr. Pervert."

"Stupid cleaning lady. Derpy would have made a better argument, and that thing's dumber than a sack of sticks." Eli wasn't sure whether that was an insult to the cleaning lady or a compliment to the Psyduck that had only managed to start swimming when Albion jumped on his head. Wait, wait, that's not the problem here! Geoff was coming into the bath and Eli was — aside from her towel — stark naked! She quickly returned her Pokémon to their Pokéballs (except Derpy, who couldn't be bothered) and found a spot to hide.

"Hey, Derpy," Geoff started more calmly. "Why're you out here?"

"Duck." The Psyduck thankfully wasn't too busy dunking his head underwater to reply.

"Definitely a better conversationalist than the maid." As Geoff lowered himself into the water on one end of the bath, he was oblivious to Eli escaping from the other end, only catching a glimpse of a pretty girl's long hair before it disappeared into the inn's interior.

EVENT 01

PART A - PART B - PART C - PART D - PART E - PART F

628.gif
A Wild Braviary Appears?!

In the western and south western sectors of Hoenn, there have been numerous sights of Braviary, thing that hadn't happen previously, as Braviary is exclusive to the Unova region, and Rufflet cannot be found with ease within the region of Hoenn. Several witnesses have said that they're not regular Braviary, and that in fact, it's only one, as they claim that it is some weird mix between a human and a Pokemon.

BURST thieve of the skies

As depicted, this person-Pokemon-creaturesque being is covered with feathers, and has gained wings without losing his arms or legs. His head is also covered in feathers at most parts, and he has gained an incredible speed when airbourne.

Arlu comes from a very distant land, where he was part of a secret organization whose name no one seems to remember, as a minor grunt, and is one of the Seven Warriors of Team Gaia, after slowly ranking up in this team1. If he sees you're holding something that is actually worth it, he'll steal it with haste, so be careful not to loose your belongings to him.

If spotted, he'll certainly just flee unless succesfully attacked, if you do harm him, prepare for a ferocious battle that will certainly result with you losing more than a battle.

How may you manage this event:

-You have the power to bunny Arlu, as he's an NPC, be warned, however, that if you abuse of this, neither of the RPers will be able to bunny any other of the Seven Warriors again.

-Arlu can appear ANYWHERE, if you want to spot him in your next post, be sure to tell everyone else in the OOC. Once you're done with your post, he must flee somewhere else. Someone else will be able to spot it, also telling the others in the OOC, and so on...

-Arlu, being a Burst Warrior, and one of the Seven Warriors, has performed Burst, and since he knows the risks of facing tougher oponents, he will not hesitate to attack those who look weak and flee of those who can overcome him.

-He does speak, but he prefers to emit intimidating cries instead.

-Due to him fusing with a Lv. 30 Braviary, this battle shows a significant challenge, and obviously can't be won.

-What is the purpose of spotting one of the Seven Warriors so quickly? You'll see in Rustboro

Oldale Town

Arla, Banko and the Seedot who was newly named Corwas entered Oldale Town just after lunch time. Instead of heading to the pokémon center, Arla went straight home and begged for lunch. Her mother was not home as she was working in the school, of course. But her father was at home at the moment and cooked up a nice lunch worthy of a trainer. Then he asked her how her journey was coming along and she showed him Corwas and Banko. When her father saw the messed up and weak Corwas, he scolded her and sent her straight to the pokémon center after lunch. Grumpy, Arla obeyed and went to heal her pokémon up. She would remember to do that as the first thing whenever she reached a new town from now on.

At the pokémon center, she overheard some other trainers talking. It wasn't often that good trainers came to her hometown, but there were quite a lot of bad nooby ones. Like herself... no, she was great! She had Banko. He was... a bit silly, but pretty strong. Maybe she should try her powers out against a real trainer? Instead of just fighting wild pokémon.

She walked up to a pair of guys who seemed to be comparing pokéballs in the middle of the pokémon center's lobby. They seemed to be only a few years older than her, one with red, curly hair and the other one with brown bushy hair. Both of them were relatively tall and lanky.

"Excuse me," she said and earned confused looks from both guys. "Would anyone of you want to have a battle with me? I need to train."

The guys looked at each other and then laughed a little. Arla was about to go into defense mode, when they smiled at her in a not so mean way. "Yeah, sure! I can. Outside? Now?" the brown haired one said.

"Yes!" Arla said, relieved. They walked outside and the red haired guy agreed to act as a judge.

"My name is Martin, by the way," the trainer said. "And your judge is Oscar."

"Name's Arla," the pink haired girl said confidently. "Two pokémon each!"

"You mean in succession, right? Not as in a double battle?"

"Yes. Succession."

"Fine! I'll begin. Poliwag!" Martin called out and sent forth a blue ball that was similar to a Spheal yet not. Arla had seen this one before, just north of Oldale.

"Corwas, let's fight!" she said and sent out her newest pokémon. He came out and jumped a few times on the spot, then turned around and faced Arla with an angry face. "Hey, what are you doing? Let's be a team!"

Corwas didn't seem to think that was a great idea. He scoffed at her.

"Hah... newly captured, I guess?" Martin asked. Arla's face went red as Oscar laughed a little.

"Corwas! I beat you fair and square. That means I'm stronger than you. You want to become strong like me, right?" Corwas seemed to think about her words for a bit. "Then follow my orders and I'll teach you how to be great!" The pokémon sighed, then nodded. Convinced!

"Great. Then, use Tackle!" Arla said, charging forward immediately. Corwas tackled Poliwag easily, since it was even slower than the Seedot on the ground. But it didn't seem to hurt much.

"Poliwag, counter with Bubble!" Martin said and his pokémon turned around and quickly blew a stream of bubbles at Corwas, who backed away with small yelps when the bubbles exploded against his skin.

"You're a grass type! You can... oh." Arla smiled and walked closer to her pokémon, who stood up and stared at Poliwag with angry eyes. "Use Bide," she whispered to him. He understood and even giggled a little.

"What's that?" asked Oscar, who tried to stand somewhere beside the middle of the improvised battlefield.

"Trainers are allowed to stay close to their pokémon during a battle," Martin shrugged. "But then they'll have to take the attacks too! Bubble!"

Arla shielded herself with her arms as the Bubbles came at them. She managed to jump away before too many had hit her, but her Seedot took most of the damage. Still, he was a grass type and it didn't damage him much. But he did Bide his time...

"Another Bubble!" Martin said and Arla couldn't help thinking what a naive trainer he was. Thinking that bubble after bubble could make her Seedot burst. The new batch of bubbles hit Corwas just like before, but then it widened its eyes. It was ready. Arla opened her mouth to give the order-

"Hypnosis!" Martin interrupted her all of a sudden. Arla almost stumbled on her own feet of surprise. Before Corwas could unleash his power, Poliwag caught its attention and the swirly shape on its belly started to swirl even more. Arla looked away instantly. Corwas was not so wise. Arla saw him become dizzy and eventually fall over, as if asleep.

"What!" she shouted out.

"Double Slap," Martin said, once again surprising the pink haired girl. Poliwag now jumped forward and slapped the Seedot hard until it woke up. But he was only awake until the next blow, after which he fainted.

"Martin wins this round!" Oscar called out happily and clapped his hands. Arla didn't speak. She just returned Corwas to his pokéball with a dark face.

"Do you know why you lost?" Martin asked, sending back his Poliwag as well.

"Oh please. Are you going to treat me like a little kid? I'm 14 years old!" She wasn't going to stand here and take non-wise words from non-wise teenagers.

"Really? I'm sorry then. I thought you were younger. Haha, I guess you might have heard that before?"

"Yes, and I didn't like it then and I don't like it now," Arla pouted.

"Hey, girl, he didn't mean no harm!" Oscar said with a stupidly wide smile and walked up to them.

"I'm only 16 years old myself. So I guess I shouldn't be lecturing you. But you might become a better trainer if you think about this," Martin began. Arla pretended that Martin didn't know that she pretended to not listen. "You just assumed that we were as new trainers as you when you challenged us, I guess. Before you challenge someone, you can try to assess their skills and strengths. Maybe try to spot one of their pokémon to see if it's evolved or young. And during the battle, I knew you used Bide. You used it because you thought Seedot could withstand the water attacks and then deliver a stronger blow in return, and maybe you thought that I didn't realize that Seedot wasn't much damaged by water. But I had more attacks up my sleeve and decided to not reveal Double Slap until the end. Hypnosis was used just before you could deliver your main blow, to render Seedot harmless. Tactics."

As much as she wanted to rip his guts out now, Arla knew he made sense. She would keep those things in mind. And generally try to be more observing. But still...

"We have one more round before this battle is over," she said.

((OOC: but that'll be in another post xD Can I has 3 levels for Corwas the Seedot now? :D ))

Ugh... I'm starving... Dusk rummaged through the bush, but alas, no more berries. damn... Looks like it's off to town then... Stuffing his hands in his pockets he took his leave from the forest. "What a drag..." Town was the last place he'd wanted to go. It looked like berries were out of the question, so what choice did he have? As he walked he felt that precious gem in his pocket bump his hand. Digging it out he held it up in the sunlight, gazing into it for a few moments.

~

Dusk felt bitter cold winds glide across his face, carrying small flakes of snow as they fell to the ground. Each footstep made a slight crunching sound. This sound was fairly quiet however, as Dusk (due to a mixture of being extremely lightweight from how little he eats, and the fact that he's trained himself to make little-to-no sound) was very light on his feet. A bit of snow landed on his nose, but he did nothing to wipe it off. He lifted his head slightly as he listened in on another, faster set of footsteps. They were approaching behind him, but he did not stray from his path. Soon the footsteps were following beside him. Dusk stopped, kneeling down and resting his hand between the Poochyena's ears, petting him gently. "Do you remember my promise?" The Poochyena sat down, tail flicking back and forth, barking a few times. "Yes... I'll never let anyone take you from me... I wear it on my life." Dusk blinked his eyes, and as quickly as it had appeared, the familiar world had vanished.

~

He just arrived at Oldale town when something caught his attention. A large shadow that covered the sun for a fraction of a second. He looked up to see a Braviary-- No, a BURST Braviary-- flying above. S***... They've come looking for my BURST Heart... Like hell if I'll let that happen! "Hige, it's time... Let's BURST!!" Dusk grabbed the the Heart and pressed it between his hands, centered in his chest. "HHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!" Dusk's roar echoed throughout the entire town, shouting at the top of his lungs. He felt the very blood of the Poochyena mixing with his own, his DNA fusing with that of the Pokemon's, and it's power surging and coursing through his veins. Dusk formed a gray-black tail, triangular dark ears, and black skin. The white of his eyes faded to yellow, and his gray eyes turned crimson red. His teeth sharpened, and his fangs grew slightly longer.

He growled as he looked up at the bird with fury in his eyes. Scanning his surroundings he spotted the tallest building in town, and began a full sprint directly at it. Agility... he muttered, and his full-on sprint turned into a blinding speed-run. he reached the building and began to run directly up it. When he reached the top, he took a large leap, straight into the sky, and straight into the Braviary man. His intimidating appearance startled the bird, and he quickly fled, leaving Dusk's bite a miss. He spun slightly in the air, positioning himself just right for the fall. He landed with a thud, on one knee, and a fist thrust into the ground. "That works... He'd better not come near me anytime soon..." As it turns out, he had landed somewhat close to a Pokemon Battle. He placed his hands palm-to-palm over his chest, and, reversing the process, formed a shiny crimson gem between them. It was only then.... That his stomach growled.

Oldale Town

Just as Martin was about to reply, something unexpected happened. A wild pokémon landed right next to them with a hard thud. Arla jumped, not because she was scared but because she was surprised. Just like when Corwas had been wild and scared her and Banko. She didn't get scared!

The wild pokémon didn't look like anything she had seen before. As it got up into a standing position, Arla could hear Oscar gasp for breath in shock. It looked a lot like a Mightyena with human features. Just as Arla's eyes had begin shining from the idea that she should try to capture it, it put its palms in front of its chest and muttered something. All of a sudden, the Mightyena-like features started fading away and what was left was just a young human man, holding some kind of gem between his hands.

"What is going on?" Martin asked. "Where did he come from?"

Arla looked up into the sky. That creature had been falling down from above, right? She spotted a very large bird hovering high above them. A very strange bird... did that look like a human face? Just as Arla tried to look closer, the bird creature seemed to notice her and suddenly took off into the distance. Yeah, something strange was definitely going on.

"Hey!" Oscar called happily out to the newcomer. "Are you one of those magic pokémon charlatans?"

"Oscar!" Martin hissed, suspecting that wasn't the case at all.

"You know, those who can actually do something and transform, instead of just cosplaying," Oscar explained to him and Arla. "I know that some people here can do that. I've heard so!"

"Not everything you hear is true," Martin sighed.

"Hey," Arla said with a stern look at the dark looking human with the gem, not really giving a damn about the two boys bickering. "Are you a pokémon? Or a human? And what was that bird thing just now?"

"Bird thing?" Martin and Oscar said in choir, not having spotted the flying creature.

Dusk looked at the two boys with a rather agitated expression, though fortunately he didn't even have to answer them, because they were too busy arguing with each other. His relief faded when a third character, this time some girl, began asking questions.

"Hey, are you a pokémon? Or a human? And what was that bird thing just now?"

Dusk withheld a groan. "No, yes, and hell if I know." He held the gem in his right hand, looking at it while speaking, instead of her. "I think he was after my Heart..." Dusk clenched the gem tightly in his palm. A Poochyena could be seen inside, travelling through a snow-covered taiga. He turned to the bickering boys. "He's right," Dusk spoke blandly, "This gem is what allows fusion." White stands of hair hung over his face, escaping his hood. His gray eyes turned to the girl. "Now if you don't mind, I've got things to do..." He turned to walk away, and after only a few steps, his stomach groaned in complaint.

"No, yes, and hell if I know."

The dark figure sure seemed a bit grumpy, Arla thought and pouted, putting her hands on her hips.

"I think he was after my Heart..." He clenched the gem in his hand, making Oscar take a few steps forward in curiosity. "He's right. This gem is what allows fusion."

Oscar shone up at that. "Told ya!" he said, nudging a puzzled Martin.

White stands of hair hung over his face, escaping his hood. His gray eyes turned to the girl. "Now if you don't mind, I've got things to do..." He turned to walk away, and after only a few steps, his stomach groaned loudly.

Arla sneered. "Like eating the air?" she said gleefully, just guessing that he was poor from the way he looked. Stomachs didn't just growl that loudly for no reason.

"Guys, wanna take a break in our match and have a snack at my place? I live just some streets away," she said to Oscar and Martin, turning around.

"Uh, yeah!" Oscar said.

"Heh, that would be nice. But we should be going. Maybe we can battle again if we meet again somewhere? When you've learned a little," Martin said and added the last part with a wink, which made Arla look sour again. But off they went, even though Oscar threw glances back at the hooded charlatan, probably wanting to see the transformation trick again.

"Aw. Alright," Arla said, realizing that she was left there with the hungry charlatan. She was just going to refer to him as that now. She tried to sound casual and not reveal how curious she really was. "What important things do you have to do? Collecting gems and playing tricks with them? I've never seen people train pokémon to merge with them before."

Sara
Sara had been pretty brave walking through the forest, but every little sound made her paranoid. A sudden, faint roar had made her heart leap, but she clenched her fist tightly. Anything that wants to get me will only get a fight. She reassured herself and spit on the ground. She looked down at Orrie and Poliwag, and sighed, they were trotting along carelessly and to her it was like they were teasing her. She didn't fear anything but forests and it bothered her.

She needed to distract herself before so she became too distressed. She began to think about what could let out such a roar, but couldn't embody it to any Pokemon or person she had seen. She heard a bird-like yell and looked up, this large bird she had never seen before was flying over. She wondered if that was the Pokemon with the mysterious roar, but quickly dismissed it, the two roars were not alike.

I've never seen that before, I wonder if is rare or maybe not from this region. She saw it was heading toward Rustboro City. A thought struck her, she had never seen a bird that large before and it was flying right to the very place where her mother was. If that overgrown bird even gets near my mother I will snap its feathery neck! But I doubt my Pokemon would even be a match for it, I need to train.

"You guys, I'd hate to be here much longer but I saw this big bird and I really think that it isn't with good intentions." She talked down to her Pokemon, but immediately regretted it, "What am I doing, I don't know if they understand me or not!" She decided to just speak simply, "Okay you guys, we need to train, hard, I want full cooperation." She pulled out her bag of Oran berries, "Please?" Orrie immediately took tackle position and seemed to nod, Poliwag just stood there but it stood next to Orrie looking right at Sara. Really wish I weren't the only one here She thought, thinking back to her fear, "Alright good, first thing is first, you both need to learn new moves."

She held out her pokedex and held it up to both her Pokemon, she scrolled thought the list of moves they could learn. After a bit she settled with teaching Orrie thunderbolt and Poliwag water gun. She put her arms on her hip, "How exactly do I teach a move I've never done or could do..." She tapped her foot in thought, she thought aloud, "Well water gun is pretty much shooting high preassured water, so maybe if you drink some water and spit it out like this," She pushed her cheeks together with her hands and made an oval. She then tried to speak, "And then when you puss the wader wif your mouf you will haf water gun." She laughed at her own voice and thought about how she must look. She then began to wonder if Pokemon stored water for water gun in their body. "Why don't you drink some of this water and spit it right at the tree over there?" She gave Poliwag water and observed.

The Poliwag at first just drank the water, then it started to become too full to drink more. "No! You are not supposed to drink it!" She sighed, and took a sip of her water canteen, "Do this!" She tried to spit a stream of water at the tree, but all she really did was spray water in the direction of it. She wiped her mouth, "Try that except high preassured and hit the tree." Poliwag looked at the tree and copied Sara, it succeeded in hitting the tree with a stream of water, not powerfull enough to be an attack. "I'd say keep practicing that and it will be powerful."

She turned to Orrie, "Okay boy, I need you to learn something different okay?" She thought about how thunderbolt would work with a normal type, "What do I know about electricity." She thought back to her days in Orre, she had seen thunderbolt before, it seemed that the electricity was channeled by the Pokemon. "So we just need to teach you how to channel electricity and also create it..." More problems.

"Well when I was a smaller kid my mom had this carpet I used to shock myself with whenever I walked with socks..." She pet the zizagoon's fur, "Why don't you try shaking? Maybe you can generate electricity by doing that." She watched as he began shaking and she stretched, "I guess I can also do some training." She started to go through some exercises, such as push ups and pull ups on tree branches, and practiced her technique for fighting.

Eli, Geoff & Isla - Petalburg Inn, Petalburg City
Eli:

OCzaX.png

He didn't see anything, did he? Maybe the lazy maid was right about Geoff being a pervert, if he even knew Eli was there. He didn't call her name, so Eli assumed she was off the hook.

When she returned to the room, Isla was in the restroom, so Eli slipped into a clean pair of shorts and watched some television, leaving her hair to dry out without getting her hat or shirt wet.

"Help!" Professor Oak shouted on-screen. "I've been pushed down the stairs and I can't get up!" An announcer started talking off-camera, over the rest of the video.

"This has happened to everyone one time or another. People who've been pushed down the stairs and are stuck helpless on the floor can get horrible pains, but LifeAlarm can help. Simply press the button on our patented LifeAlarm Necklace. It will send out an incessant air horn sound, and one of our respondents will dispatch a team to reach you immediately." The screen switched to a middle-aged woman wearing the necklace. It did not look like anything a person would want to wear in public... or in private. It was just a 2-inch wide embedded button with a speaker and cord in it.

"Without LifeAlarm, I was nothing more than a paperweight if I was pushed down the stairs, but now I can pull dangerous stunts with my friends involving my concrete stairs anytime I want and not have to worry about simply laying there waiting to die!"

Within moments, it overlaid a foggy-white screen with red wording on it. Some of it was a phone number that was blurred out, the rest saying, "Call LifeAlarm today to see if your medical insurance will support you having LifeAlarm, or visit our website at NoNeedToWorryWithLifeAlarm.com!'

"Eli, are you back? How was the bath?"

"It was nice."

"Bet Derpy loved it."

"Tried to drown himself a few times, but he looked like he was having fun." Eli remembered that she left Derpy there, but figured Señor Pervert would bring him back. Señor Pervert, of course, was enjoying himself. Derpy acted as silly as usual, and the heat lightened Geoff's senses enough to laugh at anything, even if it was Derpy showing him how to perform a self-drowning. (Derpy still didn't drown.)

Eli flipped the channel to a rerun of a Pokémon battle between Quinn Anderson and the gym leaders of Mossdeep City, Tate and Liza. Tate and Liza had four Pokémon between the two of them: Lunatone and Solrock, and a Xatu and Sigilyph. Quinn only had three Pokéballs, but a few Burst Hearts were hanging around his neck in chains. This was from about four years back, when Quinn was taking the Pokémon League Challenge.

"Weavile, use Night Slash on Lunatone! Pawniard, Iron Defense!" As Pawniard braced itself against Solrock's Rock Throw, Quinn's Weavile struck at Lunatone, unaffected by its attempt at Psychic.

"Lunatone, use Rock Tomb!" Unable to keep up with Weavile at first, Rock Tomb knocked its speed down a peg and did some serious damage.

"Solrock, Rock Slide!" Pawniard, recovered from Solrock's first attack, grabbed its partner and led it through the second, using Metal Claw to break anything it couldn't avoid.

"Alright, Pawniard, throw Weavile up and use Scary Face! Weavile, follow it with Dark Pulse!" Pawniard's eyes flared yellow after tossing Weavile higher into the air, Lunatone and Solrock both wincing and backing up a bit before Weavile fell down with a glowing black orb on top of them. In that blow, both Solrock and Lunatone fell, and Quinn congratulated his team until Tate and Liza continued the battle with Xatu and Sigilyph.

Eli was engrossed in seeing her dad's old battles. It was almost like she was in the stadium with a seat on the sidelines, watching it live, but Isla broke the illusion. The latter obviously didn't expect in the least to see the guy she was crushing on half-naked, but she sat on the nearest bed and passed right out finding out that same guy is a girl. (Sh–She's gonna sleep that off, right?)

"Guys, wanna take a break in our match and have a snack at my place? I live just some streets away,"

Aww, Sh**. He had been hoping that no one had heard, but that pesky girl seemed to make it pretty damn obvious that she knew. However much he'd rather avoid all of these preppy trainers, he knew as well as they probably did that he needed to eat. Fortunately, the bicker bros. decided against it. One out of three... Good enough I guess.

He decided to follow her to her house or whatever, only to realize that this meal would indeed come with a cost; conversation.

"What important things do you have to do? Collecting gems and playing tricks with them? I've never seen people train pokémon to merge with them before."

"I'm guessing it's gonna cost me a conversation for food? I guess that's fine...." He shrugged somewhat lazily. At least he gets to eat. "Important things meant going out to find food somewhere, so I guess I don't have anything else to do for the time being. And these gems are called 'BURST Hearts'. If you can use one properly you can fuse with the Pokemon inside, as well as pull yourself into the gem... Consciously anyways." He pulled out the Gem once more, watching the Poochyena inside, and he was watching back as well. "I... Stole this gem. From Gaia, anyways. I don't know if you're familiar with the Petalburgh Forest, but I live there, and they intruded. They had the nerve to stomp on my only supply of food-" Dusk was clenching his fists rater tightly, and as he unclenched them he could see the indentations of his nails pressing into his skin. No doubt his voice probably built up at the end. "I beat them all to pulps and saw this gem, and saw the Pokemon inside it, I figured it'd be better off away from those bast***s."

Tyler
Oldale Town

The Pokemon Center was quite serene. The floors were pristine, not a speck of dust on them. The walls were pretty bare except for the brightly detailed map that hung next to the PC. "Better figure out where I'm going next." Approaching the map, Tyler focused in on the small town north of Littleroot. there wasn't much option of where to go. He contemplated going north to check out what other pokemon he might find. After that though, the only way to go would be to cross the water, which he was unable to due. After further review of the situation, he decided it would be best if he and Sanjiro continued west to Petalburg. "Just to think, I might meet Norman!"

"Excited are we?" said Nurse Joy with a smile on her face as she approached Tyler with a pokeball in her hand. "He's as good as new. Just keep in mind that keeping him healthy will be the best way to get him to open up to you. Though silent, he honestly looks like, with time, he can come to trust you. You better be on your way."

"Thanks Nurse, for the healing, and for the advice." Tyler said as he started to collect his things.

""HHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" Came a monstrous growl from outside. Tyler and Nurse Joy came out of the Pokemon Center running. As they looked around, they saw nothing out of the ordinary. Just some kids having a pokemon battle, unphased by the sound that had just rattled around there minds.

With a firm nod, Nurse Joy said "Be on your way now, but be careful. You never know what could be roaming around in the nights." With that, Tyler was off to Route 102.

Route 102

The route was quietly ominous. He saw trainers in the wild grass looking for pokemon all around him. He walked through the wild grass evading eyes all around him. He just wanted to make it through without being noticed by any trainer.

He was finally reaching the end of the route was he was greeted by a Trainer exclaiming "When two trainers eyes meet they must battle!" The youngster look eager to battle as he sent out his Zigzagoon. The Zigzagoon ran back in forth, almost rhythmically. Standing there with an annoyed face, the trainer shouted out "You gonna send out your pokemon or what?"

Tyler glanced at the youngster and thought to himself "This kids gotta be kidding me. Whatever." Reaching for his pokeball, Tyler shouted "Go Sanjiro!" The Treecko took aim at the Zigzagoon and waited for his command. The youngster ordered a headbutt from his pokemon. "Treecko, dodge it and use Absorb!" The Treecko ducked out of the way as the Zigzagoon dove over his head. With this, Sanjiro turned around and launched his attack. The creature was drained and aggravated. Frustrated the trainer tried again. This time, Sanjiro was knocked back a few feet into a pile of rocks. As the trainer ordered one more attack from the pokemon, Sanjiro picked up a rock and Tyler said "Wait for it. " and as soon the Zigzagoon started charging, "Tyler shouted "Now! Use Fling!" The Treecko flung the rock, damaging the skull of the pokemon, knocking it back into a tree. It lay on the floor weak. It struggled back up. The trainer ordered another attack from the pokemon.

The Zigzagoon was about to start charging again when a stream of bubbles came out of the woods, taking it by surprise. The Zigzagoon fell to the ground, knocked out. "Thats not fair! How is that even possible?!?!" Yelled the trainer in frustration. The pokemon then fire bubbles at Sanjiro.

"Dodge it and land an Absorb!" Tyler shouted back in retaliation. The pokemon tried to jump back into the woods at the fire of the attack but it was hit and fell to the ground. "Its time to catch this thing!" he exclaimed. He took out a pokeball and readied an attempt to catch it.

"No! That thing hurt my pokemon! I'll be the one to catch it!" the youngster said pulling out a pokeball. The two through there pokeballs into the trees where the pokemon lay and ran over to the small creature to figure out which one, if either of them, had caught a new pokemon.

Sara
After working up a sweat, and seeing her Pokemon were not making much progress she decided that there needed to be a different method to her training. Poliwag was actually managing a decent water gun, not very powerfull yet but getting close. She walked up to Orrie and run her hand over his back, there was definitely static but Orrie couldn't harness it in any way.

"Okay, let's take a break from trying to learn something new, let's try doing something we already know... Eating!" She took a sandwich out for herself and set a bowl of berries out for her Pokemon. They all began eating, the aroma of the food lingered and Sara loved the smell. Unfortunately the smells also attracted some unwanted guests. A slakoth hanging from a tree and a nincada were also hungry, sluggishly the slakoth moved toward Orries bowl and began eating. The nincada did the same for Poliwag's, angering both Pokemon.

Orrie began growling at the slakoth but it just ignored him, and Poliwag was yelling in its voice at the nincada. The whole scene was quite funny to Sara, but then Orrie decided that he would just eat her sandwich. "Hey! Go get your bowl!" So she was pushing away Orrie while these two wild Pokemon enjoyed themselves with her pokemon's food. "Fine, fine I'll get your food back!"

She was about to just walk up and lift slakoth away, but he had finished eating Orrie's food and had gone to push away nincada. Nincada was about to fight back but slakoth yawned and nincada was fast asleep. "Uh, what, why did his yawning put that bug to sleep." She pulled out her pokedex and aimed it at the slakoth. "So you are a normal type huh," She waved for Orrie to come over, "I guess we are going to have to catch it." She nodded at Orrie, who took a fighting stance. "Orrie use tackle!" The slakoth was nonchalantly eating when the attack came, which caught him off guard.

"Good job Orrie!" The attack didn't do as much damage as she had hoped though, because the slakoth just got up, walked to Orrie and swiped at him with his claws, Orrie was taken down and kneeled on his front legs. That's a powerful scratch, I don't know if I should be worried or challenged. "Shake it off Orrie, we need to get this guy down! Get another tackle out!" Orrie charged forward, landing another direct hit. The slakoth looked more damaged, but again sent out a yawn. This time Sara could see that there was a bubble that went toward the target, it popped in Orries face and he swayed. He seemed to be fighting off sleep, "Orrie use a tackle, don't fall asleep!" He charged forward, using less power than before, but again landing a hit. "Good job! Keep fighting he seems to be weak." I wish I could fight instead of him right now...

Against her command though, Orrie fell asleep, she summoned him back into his ball. She looked back to see Poliwag eating from the bowl, "Come on Poliwag I need your help!" At first the Poliwag ignored her, but then she gave him a mean look and he complied. "Well now is a better time than ever to use Water Gun huh." Poliwag inhaled and shot a blast of water at the slakoth, powerful enough to shoot it back. Sara figured he would be weak enough to capture. "Well here goes nothing." She threw her pokeball and hit the slakoth, encasing it in a beam of light.

Meanwhile by accidentally dropping a few pokeballs one rolled and encased the nincada in a beam of light, unnoticed by Sara.

Tyler Mandival - Attempt At Catching A Mysterious Pokemon...

Both Tyler and the youngster threw their Pokeballs at the mysterious bubble-thrower that hid behind the bushes. But it wasn't until both Pokeballs went over the bushes that the real oddness began. Both Pokeballs sealed a Pokemon inside of their round insides, with both of them rocking in the ground before emiting a click in sign of two succesful catches.

"Cool! Let's see what I just caught!" The youngster yelled in excitement as he took and threw the Pokeball containing his new Pokemon. After a lazy-looking Pokemon materialized, the youngster raised his arms and yelled "Bet you're a killing machine, my Pokemon! Give us your best shot, Trainer!" He then awaited for Tyler's reaction.

Sara Lain - Attempt at Catching a Slakoth

With haste, Sara did her next attempt to catch the little intruder known as Slakoth, sealing it inside of the red and silver capsule, where it wouldn't eat Orrie's berries anymore. Unfortunately, Slakoth made his way out of this Pokeball, and then quickly returned to the depths of the woods.

Nincada, however, didn't had with the same kind of luck. It was sealed and succesfully catched without noticing, as it was deeply asleep. One thing is sure. It will not know how he was even caught...

"I'm guessing it's gonna cost me a conversation for food? I guess that's fine...." the dark person shrugged somewhat lazily. Arla was about to blurt out 'excuse me?', because she had certainly not meant to invite this stranger to her home! But he continued speaking before she could object.

"Important things meant going out to find food somewhere, so I guess I don't have anything else to do for the time being. And these gems are called 'BURST Hearts'. If you can use one properly you can fuse with the Pokemon inside, as well as pull yourself into the gem... Consciously anyways."

Thoughts of interrupting disappeared from Arla's mind. For some reason, she found this interesting. She still wasn't sure that she believed what she had just seen; this boy wearing a tail and dark eyes and Poochyena ears and all. But that creature in the sky... it didn't look like a pokémon. They started walking while talking, towards the Flimsworths' street.

"I... Stole this gem. From Gaia, anyways. I don't know if you're familiar with the Petalburgh Forest, but I live there, and they intruded. They had the nerve to stomp on my only supply of food," the guy was clenching his fists rater tightly here, "I beat them all to pulps and saw this gem, and saw the Pokemon inside it, I figured it'd be better off away from those bast***s."

"Huh," Arla said, eyeing the older teenager suspiciously. "So you're basically a weird thief guy who's opposing Gaia? I guess they do seem kind of mean... but beating them up and stealing something from them? Jeez, can't you just find a job and get some money for food or something?"

Arla, still being a reckless 14 year old, didn't quite understand how harsh life could be for some people and probably came off as not a little insensitive. She said that just when they had reached her home though. The rather large, american looking villa had a garden with lots of flowers around it. The walls were white and it was a two floor building. To Arla, it was the second most boring place in the world. The first being Littleroot Town, probably.

Dusk shot her a rather unsettling glare after that last comment. Privileged brat. He spoke, and that irritation was remnant in his tone. "I /don't/ steal for myself. They were intruding on my territory, so I had to deal with them. And I couldn't leave this Pokemon with people like that. Is that a good enough explanation for you??" He scoffed and simply paused to stare into the gem again, seeming to relax slightly as he did so.

"Crap he got loose." She turned around and started picking up the pokeballs she had dropped. "You did well Poliwag, I must say, that water gun is getting much better." She placed the last ball in her bag and remembered Orrie. Having no idea which one was his, she randomly picked one and released it. She did this for every empty ball, nothing happened. Eventually after six tries she did release a Pokemon, just not the one she wanted.

"Well what is this, that Pokemon from earlier?" It wasn't the Pokemon she wanted for sure, but then again it was another Pokemon. "Well hello there little guy, just wait there I gotta find my lazy Orrie." She then remembered Orrie's ball was in her pocket and sighed. "I'm an idiot. Okay so what are you" She held her pokedex up to the Nincada, and read the entry. "Well I like your evolution, and you don't look like a weakling, so I'm not at a complete loss."

She felt a little tired, "I'm going to take a nap, why don't you guys hang around."

"Oh..." Arla raised an eyebrow. He was really living in that forest? What a strange guy. A homeless guy. She maybe shouldn't take him home. But she would like to see him transform like that again and he seemed hungry so the logical way to make him show her what she wanted to see, seemed to be to feed him. "Well, I can give you something to eat here. Without you having to beat me for it!"

She flashed him a cocky smile and entered the villa, keeping the door open for him so he could enter after her. They came into a large hall with a staircase to the upper floor, a living room to the right, some other rooms with closed doors straight ahead and a kitchen to the left. Taking out both of her pokéballs, she sent out Banko the Spheal and Corwas the Seedot and told them to make themselves at home. They scuttled away to the living room to stare wide eyed at all the modern appliances.

Arla went into the kitchen, knowing that her parents weren't home at the moment. She started making some pancakes. He surely liked pancakes. Who didn't?

"By the way... what's your name?" she asked while she was working, checking to see if he was in her vicinity even. She had tried to act so confident while she started working in the kitchen that she hadn't really turned around to look.
