[PKMN OPEN] The Pokémon Trainer Academy (T) [Best Veteran 4Q '11]

"Ya do? Well looks like I got competition then! Hahaha!" Mark said cheerfully. They both seemed to have the same goal in mind. That was great! They seemed to have alot in common... Mark could keep talking with her all day about it, he felt. He smiled at her once more. It was quickly interupted when he felt something on the bottom half of his body. "What the... hey!" He looked down and noticed some... jellyfish like thing was on him.

"Get off of m... argh!" Mark yelled out as he was stung by it. His body was completely numb, he couldn't move at all. The pokemon suddenly started to drag Mark underwater and deeper into the Sea.

Snype reacted immediately when he saw his master in trouble. ["Mark!"] He cried out as he tried his best to swim over to where he was dragged into the water.

Hearing the commotion from over in the ocean where Valorie and Mark were, Selene watched with her eyes wide. "Oh no..." she whispered, running over to Pikachu. "Ryan, we need to go help them! RI!" she shouted, remembering that her Riolu was out there too. "GUYS!" she shouted out to Brian and Jack, "GUYS! COULD YOU PLEASE POSTPONE YOUR BATTLE FOR A MOMENT? MARK AND VALORIE ARE IN TROUBLE OVER THERE!" and she set off, Pikachu holding onto her shoulder tightly, her eyes narrow as sand was kicked up around her. She'd never ran this quickly in her life - Mark and Valorie were her closest friends here...if anything happened to them...if she was too late...NO. She couldn't think that way.

Her strategy could be tricky...if Pikachu accidentally gave off any kind of spark it could be fatal for Mark, or indeed, all of them. But Ryan was her only pokemon who could swim well enough to free Mark from whatever was attacking him. She splashed through the water, her legs working harder to make up for the resistance and she pointed her arm out. "PIKACHU! GO! DIVE DOWN THERE AND SLAM WHATEVER THAT POKEMON IS!" Pikachu leapt off her arm, stretching himself out into a dynamic line and slicing through the water, straight towards Mark. Sel stopped by Valorie and gripped her arm, "Valorie, what's going on? What is that thing? How is Dratini? Are you okay?" she questioned rapidly, her eyes wide as she panted heavily.

Ryan darted through the water, seeing a pink Frillish clasped onto Mark, not letting go. He charged through the water and slammed into the water pokemon, but it still wasn't letting go. It was really weak, but it was determined to stay hung onto Mark. Ryan thought for a moment, not able to take direction from Sel he had to think for himself. He decided. CHarging his cheeks with electricity, he sent a very direct jolt of lightning to the water pokemon that was not strong enough to hurt Mark if it was conducted further. The jolt hit the Frillish straight on, and Ryan watched warily as the Frillish stiffened then loosened it's grip on Mark. He swam over and pulled the pokemon off, even though it still had a relatively firm grip, and swam up breaking the surface of the water, holding the Frillish out of it as if to show Valorie and Selene that it was defeated. "Oh, thank God!" exclaimed Sel, squeezing Valorie's arm slightly in relief.

Selene took a deep breath and dove under the water - Mark was passed out! She wouldn't be able to bring him back up on her own. "Valorie, I'm going to need your help to bring him up here!"

Mark noticed Dratini attempting to help him but he was rather deep himself. Mark was running out of air... he was already losing consciousness... "u...ugh..." Mark mumbled underwater as everything suddenly got dark around him. The feeling of being carried by this Pokemon was weird... Mark felt he was really going to die.

Snype searched franticly in the water for his master. He was practically freaking out! He couldn't bare to see his master just disappear like this! He could see that Dratini was battling Frillish to save Mark. Snype wished he could help in some way....Snype rushed over to Mark's bag and searched for Commodore's Pokeball.

Snype pushed the button and let him out. ["Snype? Wha..."] Snype interupted him.

["No time! Mark is in trouble! He's being dragged underwater! Hurry!"] Snype said. Commodore immediately used one of his newer moves, Agillity and rushed straight for the water. Being artificial, he didn't have to worry about oxygen or water pressure. Commodore rushed down to join Dratini in the fight. Without a second thought, Commodore used Psybeam on the Frillish holding Mark captive.

Sel's Pikachu helped out as well. Mark felt a jolt of electricity go through his body and the pokemon that was holding him had released him. Mark floated in the water, completely passed out... Snype stood by the shore worried as Commodore attempted to move Mark above the water.

(OOC: Interuptions abound. *sigh*)

Brian looked over to see what the commotion was. He saw Mark floating in the water, passed out from something. Did none of them have a water type?
"Drizzle! Bring Mark to shore!" Brian said, sending out his buizel. Drizzle immediately swam out to rescue him, bringing him to shore with ease. Brian looked at the battlefield. Duster had been hit by the Flamethrower, and was getting to her feet. Brian called her back.
"Sorry, can we finish this in a minute? I need to help my friend!" Brian said, before running off to see what he could do.
"How can I help?!" Brian asked urgently when he arrived.

Jack heard the commotion but was there anything he could really do now Rocky couldn't do a thing and Blaze would die if he even tried anything "Yea she's right" Blaze stopped his flamethrower attack and turned his attention to the ocean "Ok Blade see if you can help out" shouted out Jack in an effort to get Mark back ashore Blade used his blades and cut through the water reaching as quickly as possible. Jack knew that pokemon like Frillish travel in groups and the same could be said about this one.

"Crap" Jack could see from the shore that a group of Frillish came charging through trying to help out their comrade

Drizzle yelled out a warning as more Frillish came to join in. Brian thought for a moment.
"Snivy! Use Bullet Seed to try and scare them away!" Brian said. She was a grass type, and grass types beat water types! But Brian didn't think that Snivy would be able to so much on her own. Neither did she, but she gave a large sigh, leapt into the air, and began firing at the Frillish, making some of them begin to flee.

Taking a deep breath, Sel dove under the surface of the water with Valorie and helped Commodore and Dratini carry him up to the surface. She watched as Valorie hugged Mark, and let go of him out of respect for Valorie's feelings. It became apparent that Valorie was struggling with the saltwater from having dived under - having grown up on a chain of islands Selene was a very strong swimmer and the salty water didn't bother her eyes - so she swam over to Valorie.

"Here...Valorie, I'll take him if you like? I can swim him over to the beach...give you some time to sort your eyes out and you can join us?" she took a hold around Mark and Pikachu and Commodore took hold of his legs, helping her carry him thorugh the water towards the beach. Once she could stand, she walked up the shallow water, practically dragging Mark now Pikachu had dropped his foot, and once they were up the beach she let go of Mark and dropped to the sand beside him, panting heavily. She looked him over and felt his pulse by his neck...****, it was weak...he didn't seem to be breathing!! Sel didn't know CPR! Oh hell...

"VALORIE! I DON'T THINK HE'S BREATHING! I THINK HIS AIRWAYS MUST'VE BEEN BLOCKED BY WATER!" she shouted urgently, trying to think of what little first aid she knew. "ummm..." she turned Mark on his side and patted his back firmly, trying to force the water out of his lungs.

It was good to see Mark back on dry land but he didn't look in good condition at the moment, at least Selena was taking care of him. Although Mark was ok things could get worse if the group of pokemon weren't dealt with, Jack swam out a safe distance away from the Frillish but close enough to give Blade orders. "Blade try and cut them off from the shore" the pokemon were moving quickly looking to avenge the the capture of what appeared to be their leader.

"Blade use Vacuum wave" Scyther created a twister which then got surrounded by water some of the Frillish were caught up but a couple did slip through and were headed towards land.

As Valorie surveyed Mark, Selene could see the conflict on her face and knew it must be awkward for her. She placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder and smiled. "It's okay...no-one will think anything of it, please Valorie, you have to do it." Valorie seemed to have come to the same conclusion as she knelt down, turned Mark on his back and began breathing into his mouth. Selene trusted that Valorie would make Mark breathe again...and as much as she wanted to stay until her friend was back on his feet being a doofus, she could hear Jack and Brian struggling with the Frillish that had converged on the shore.

Turning, she pulled off the dripping wet sarong that was constricting her from running and ran to the water, "come on Pikachu!" she shouted as she passed him, he ran after her and leapt up onto her shoulder as she ran. She pulled level with Jack and Brian and Pikachu jumped off her shoulder into the air. "Now, pikachu, thunderbolt!" she ordered, and Pikachu's lightning attack shot directly into the water, conducting throughout the sea until it looked yellow and lightning crackled over the surface. There was no way the Frillish could have withstood that attack...but there could easily be more of them.

Both Snype and Commodore watched as Mark as passed out. Both of them were worried that their trainer wasn't breathing. Both Selene and Valorie did their best to get him to breathe. Suddenly, Valorie went right ahead and used CPR, or, her best imitation of it. Snype would have laughed at this but this wasn't a joke going on. Snype knew when to take something seriously. ["Comon wake up..."] Snype said quietly.

Mark felt his life flash before his very eyes. He wasn't sure what was going on since he passed out. Suddenly, he felt air going through his lungs... he was breathing! How? Someone must have been using CPR... he felt somebodies lips against his. Mark began to move a little. "mm...mmph..." he muttered. He slowly got up and coughed out a bunch of water.

"W...what happened...?" Mark said as he looked around. He turned to Valorie who was right beside him on her knees. Did... she...save him? Mark's eyes widened as his face immediately went red. "V...Valorie...?" He simpily said. Snype and commodore cheered that Mark was all good!

Jack was glad to see Selena helping out and as he looked back to the shore he realised that Mark was up again. Pikachu was effective but it could be dangerous for him to use electric attack while they were still in the water. The Frillish began to retreat now at the sight of three strong pokemon and especially an electric type. "Ok guys that looks like the last of them" Jack swam back to shore with Blade following behind him as the reached ashore Jack's first order of business was to make sure he was ok. "Hey Mark glad to see you breathing"

"Yeah That'll teach them to mess with us!" Brian shouted as the last of the Frillish left the area. He turned around to se Mark on his feet again. Dusster and Drizzle ran over to him, and Snivy stood on the beach looking very proud of herself. Until she slipped on the wet sand. Brian made his way over to Mark
"Glad you're on your feet again! You scared the life out of all of us!" Brian said.

Exhaling, Selene waited for Ryan to clamber up her leg and up to her head and sighed, walking back up the beach tiredly to where Mark and Valorie were, trailing behind Jack. "Oh, Mark," she sighed, dropping to her knees in exhaustion beside him. She suddenly punched him in the arm, but not hard, she didn't have the energy to smack him one, "in future, watch out!!! Be more careful...don't nearly die on us, drama is exhausting..." she smiled at him then and leaned down, giving him a tight hug as Ri padded over and patted his leg, Ryan grinning at him.

Sel looked up over at Valorie and sat on her heels. "You okay? You look shaken Val...hold on." she stood up and went over to her beach bag, reaching inside it and pulling out a large bar of chocolate. It had partially melted but it was okay. She snapped off a couple of hard chunks and handed them to Valorie, then did the same for Mark, and finally some for herself that she shared with Ryan. "Eat. It'll get our blood sugars up...slow down all this adrenaline..."

Mark noticed Valorie hiding her face staring at her lap. She was trembling a little... admitingly Mark was a bit shaky as well. He almost got killed out there. Mark put his hand on Valories. "D...did you save me...?" Mark said nervously. Not just by the fact that Valorie had just locked lips with him, but that he had to be saved from something like that. Mark already knew it was her. Everyone else was kind of far away at the time.

Mark looked up at Bri and Jack. "****... Sorry I interrupted your battle. Can't believe I let that thing get ahold of me." Mark said to them, returning his gaze to Valorie. He place a hand on her shoulder to help comfort her. "Thanks. I uh... I really can't think of how I could possibly make it up to you for saving my life like that." Mark said to her. He then felt Selene punch his arm telling him not to have that happen to him again. He accepted the Chocolate bar and nodded at Selene as he was hugged by her. He then awaited a response from Valorie.

"Ah, it's no big deal. I was getting my butt kicked anyway. You guys get some rest, ok?" Brian said. He felt absurdly happy. His friend was ok! They had all worked together to save him! Things were alright! He beamed at all present, and had a very large smile on his face. Duster looked up at him and laughed.
"What?" Brian said.
"You look like just like Snype!" Duster said.
