[PKMN OPEN] The Pokémon Trainer Academy (T) [Best Veteran 4Q '11]

Zayne considered the more experienced teachers question for a moment before responding to it
"Well, so far I have been enjoying teaching and my first class did seem to be interesting and with quite a bit of potential - a few that are concerning but I'm sure every class is like that. I'm enjoying the new experience and I like passing my knowledge, of which there's a fairly decent amount despite my age if I do say so myself, on to others. I wonder, do you follow the trend of berry and poffin experts specialising in grass-types?"

The trends between areas of interest or profession and the type of pokemon used had always been something that interested Zayne, so he figured he may as well find out.
Well now I know two staff members excluding my brief meeting with the receptionist, it does seem like the school not only is excellent at picking the right person for the job but also that there is a huge variety of specialists amongst the staff here.

(OOC: Sorry for such a short post, I'm not overly sure what else I could right here)

The boy at the bottom turned when he heard a voice, his face pale fearing that they had been spotted. He slowly turned his head and saw a pretty girl who said she was lost. The boy's face suddenly turned red and he started to tremble, making the boy above him lose his balance and glare at him.

"Hey, what do you think you're do-" he said before he spotted the girl.

Both blushing boys lost their balance and fell to the ground, with one getting more hurt than the other. However, there was no sign of the Gastly, meaning that it was still tormenting whoever it was tormenting.

Alice Crenshaw

A large shadow towered over Alice, who was cowering in fear. A series of maniacal laughters came from it, and they echoed around the foggy forest. However, no physical harm had come to Alice, and she slowly opened her eyes to see what was going on. The evil-looking shadow was still there, staring at her in a creepy way. For one moment the red-haired girl thought that it was a harmless creature after all, but as she tried to stand back up, the shadow screamed loudly and scared the girl, who fell on her back.

As the girl began to tremble again, the fog in the forest became thicker, and evil red eyes appeared all around her. She gulped down and curled into a ball.

"H-Help m-me..."

"Fwahaha...Heeheehee..."

"Hohohoho..."

Alice lay in bed, trembling with fear as she slept, her face pale, completely unaware that a small gassy Pokémon that hid in the room was behind her awful nightmare.

Oerba Dia Vanille​

Vanille giggled as both boys blushed and fell to the ground. Glancing at Merida she nodded and the Skitty ran off unnoticed. Being together for 15 years Vanille and Merida had mastered how to communicate through looks and actions. "oh my" Vanille said worriedly kneeling by the boys Prince at her side. "I hope your okay, I didn't mean to startle you"

Merida meanwhile had gone into the Pokemon Center searching for the room that the boys had been looking in. After a few minutes she found it and saw the girl her trainer had brought in the middle of a nightmare. Looking around she searched for the hidden Ghastly and when she found it she growled slightly and ran at it from the right side before disappearing and reappearing on it's left moving to slam into it with Faint Attack.


Rosalyn smiled as she moved her paintbrush on the canvas. She had sold a fair amount of her paintings before she packed that up. From the money she earned from that and tips from her music she had more than enough to take care of herself for a week or more. Now she was working on the final touches of a painting of her Togekiss that a man had asked for and paid a good sum for it as well. "just a few more minutes Belle, thanks for being so patient" she smiled happily at her Pokemon. A few minutes later she was finished with the painting and turned to the elderly man. "Just a moment more sir" she turned to Belle. "You know what to do"

Belle nodded and flew in front of Rosalyn and a light blue ball of energy appeared in front of her and with a gentle Air Slash she landed back on the ground and Rosalyn pressed a finger to the painting. "Perfectly Dry, great job" she turned to the man and handed him the medium sized canvas. "Here you are"

"Thank you so much child" the man smiled and handed her the money along with a little extra. "very smart way to dry the painting fast, I wish you luck in your education" he smiled and walked away and Rosalyn turned back to her Pokemon as she finished packing up her stuff. Pulling out a Pokeball she called out Silver and smiled as the Skarmory took the things she no longer needed for the day. "The windows open, be gentle with it Silver" the Skarmory nodded and took off flying back towards the Academy. Pulling out her sketch book which she always kept on her she sat in the shade and started work on a sketch she had started earlier of Eris as she waited for Dex to come back.


Sage nodded. "enjoying what you do, and passing on knowledge is important. After all, these kids parents are trusting us with making sure they learn" he paused. "Yeah, I actually do specialize in grass types. Still only have the Pokemon I got when I was ten, but I hope to catch some other grass types while I'm here" he shrugged.

So far he's the second staff member I've met, should probably go around after this to try to meet some of the others. Plus I'm curious as to what Rosebud is doing "Do you specialize in a certain Pokemon type Zayne?" he asked curious as to if the younger man did or not.

Shawn Williams - Raikou Dorm - Beach

Shawn watched as Kiki called out Birdy, ready for the fight. She had such confidence in herself. He wished he could be as confident as her. He turned to Ash and pulled out one of his pokemon. "Looks like we're ready," he smiled as he threw out his pokeball. "Let's go, Sting!" he called.

The pokeball opened up to release his Drapion, which closed and opened its claws menacingly. It had been a long time since he had a good battle. Sting looked up at Ash, glaring at her and ready for a battle.

Shawn looked over to Kiki and smiled, "For better or worse, we're a team to the end." He turned back to Ash and nodded, "Whenever you're ready, ma'am."

"Hey! I'm back! You ready to go?" looking up she saw Dex had returned and she smiled putting her sketch book away and standing up. "yeah, I will be in just a minute. Silver should be right back" and sure enough a few moments later her Skarmory landed and she returned him. "Did you find anyone to battle?" she asked smiling more. "There should be plenty of people around who'd want to. After all, most of the students come here during the day."

She looked through her bag making sure she had Pokeballs, since she could still catch new Pokemon and put them in the PC. She had plenty of potions and berries as well. "All set, I've got plenty of healing items and Pokeballs just in case you might need one, are you ready to check out the dead forest?"

"Do you specialize in a certain Pokemon type Zayne?" questioned Sage, who as it turns out does specialise in pokemon of the grass type. Zayne shook his head
"I don't really have any preference, I just catch and train pokemon I like to be honest. I'm to interested in pokemon of all types and the various strengths and weaknesses they possess to invest all my time on a single type. Any advice on raising grass-types? I have several pokemon under the care of professors whilst I'm here but the grass-types I have used in battle most frequently as of late are Sceptile, Leafeon, Breloom, Roserade and Whimsicott."

Well that's true for the most part I guess, and that's also a wide variety so I can really get a glimps of his knowledge.

"Oh, and what's this starter of yours?"

"You want to lead the way? I'm not quite familiar with the roads in here, so I am assuming you know the place better" Dex asked and Rosalyn nodded. "It's not far from here, I'm a little nervous though" she admitted as they followed the path towards the forest. "I've heard some stories about the Dead Forest. Mainly that the police seem to think murderer is hiding there" she shrugged. "I don't really know what to believe. There have been people that have gone missing, and reporting seeing things" she shook her head and looked at Dex Belle flying alongside her. "I'm not that worried though" she blushed faintly and smiled more.

"I have you with me, so there's nothing to be scared of"


Sage nodded. "I've got a Lilligant, her names Blossom." he smiled. "though sometimes I've thought about broadening my skills as a trainer and using other types. Though I'd like to catch a few more grass types before I do that, and I'd probably consider Water types if I wanted to specialize in more than one Pokemon." He looked at the younger man. "What about you, what kind of Pokemon do you have?"

He doesn't have a preference like I do. But I still wonder what he's got

Zayne was finding this quite interesting, it seemed to him as though Sage was almost as intent on sussing him out as he was on learning more about Sage
"With me right now I have Ignis my Charizard - who is also my starter, Aura my Lucario and Andromeda my Staraptor. But as I said earlier I actually have quite a few pokemon under the care of professors. Water and Grass are a good combination since they can cover each others weaknesses to a degree. Perhaps you should catch a Lotad or one of its evolved forms? Sort of like a bridge between the two types."

Lucia glanced over at Brian at his protests, "It isn't for battling or such. Simply to let him know if he does something that you don't appreciate." She stated. She glanced over at the Arcanine and... Brian's conversation with it. Something about a battle? "Does your Arcanine wish to battle Brian? I'm sure I could fit in a fight after my own battle with Mark." She said with a nod.

Roberto rolled his eyes at Nova's remarks, though he wasn't here to cause anything, he was here to prevent anything from happening. If this Arcanine WOULD start something... HE would finish it.

"Oh, let me do this real quick." She said as she texted Mark back.

Kayla and Holly

Holly sat at her cousin's bedside nervously, watching her sleep fitfully. The night before, Kayla had suddenly collapsed on her way back to her dorm. Holly called a nurse to help her get her cousin inside. The nurse said that Kayla had gotten an infection from her injured leg, since she never went to the Pokemon Center to get her leg cleaned.

Kayla... Holly thought sadly. "If you weren't so worried about helping me make friends, then this wouldn't have happened..." she whispered. Molly floated by her side sadly, and Daisy lay at the foot of Kayla's bed, watching her trainer nervously. "Holly, while Kayla's getting better, maybe you should take your medicine... I don't remember seeing you take it yesterday." Holly sighed and stood up. "I don't need those stupid pills, Molly," she said angrily. She looked at Kayla one last time before walking out of the room. Her Pokemon followed her slowly, Molly with a scowl on her face.

"That's actually a good idea" he said before checking the time on his watch. "It was great to talk to you, but I'm supposed to call the family soon" he smiled and gathered his stuff. "I hope we'll talk again" he waved at the other man and left his classroom heading for his rooms he set his things down and picked up the phone dialing his wife's number.


Rosalyn giggled at the blush on Dex's face. It's very easy to get a reaction out of him she smiled and giggled more "I think that whatever is inside there could just be attributed to a really strong Pokemon. We'll see soon how this ends." he said and Rosalyn nodded giggling even more as Pan jumped from Dex's shoulder onto her head and then onto Belle's back.

Fixing her hair she nodded at what Dex was saying. "There are probably lots of ghost types in the Dead Forest. Just like in the abandoned dorm." she said fixing her headband as they walked through the forest and up ahead they could see the trees gradually start to grow lifeless and she shivered slightly. "It's creepy how literal the name Dead Forest is."

All the shadows from the forest laughed maniacally and started to move around Alice, creating some sort of phantom whirlpool around her. She began to cry as the shadows surrounded her, and a huge black hand with claws came to grab her. But as it was about to, it suddenly backed away in pain, and so did the whirlpool around Alice.

"WAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHH!"

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEK" Alice screamed, horrified by what she had been enduring.

Inside the room with the sleeping Alice, the gassy Pokémon behind the nightmare cried in pain as it was hit by a Skitty's Faint Attack. To counter it, it used a Night Shade by instinct, but given the typing of both attack and opponent, it was doubtful that it would do any damage.

Sylvia Hanson

Feeling herself beginning to doze off in the pleasant weather Sylvia decided she should get up and move around lest she fall asleep under the tree.
"Come on Shiva, lets go for a walk" the Glaceon replied somewhat half-heartedly having been enjoying a nap by Sylvia's side
"Glace...".

Sylvia began to walk through the school grounds, her Glaceon trotting at her heels looking as elegant and as stuck-up as ever. Soon enough her adventures took her back towards her dorm room, she wasn't entirely sure why but she figured she may as well head inside. As she began to walk past another girl, who was accompanied by a Munna and a Deerling, she was shaken from her daydreams by the irritated voice of her Glaceon. She quickly looked round to see that the Deerling had apparently accidentally knocked Shiva, which Shiva had mistaken for an aggressive act.
"Shiva calm down, sorry about that."

Zayne Alta

Zayne acknowledged his senior as he left before he slowly rose and left Sage's classroom, he was relatively pleased with how he was getting along with the other staff members at that point and was in a good mood as a result of that so he decided to head to the forest nearby to do some training with Andromeda, who probably was a bit disappointed with being brought back to her pokeball so soon during his lesson.
I can't be too long, but I'll at least be able to make it up to her.

Soon enough Zayne had found his way to a fairly shallow part of the forest where he soon let Andromeda out of her pokeball.
"I figure whilst we are have some spare time we should do some training". In response to her trainers statement the Staraptor cawed enthusiastically. Zayne grinned briefly,
"Okay let's work on your precision" he picked up a handful of decently sized nuts that had fallen to the ground from the trees "I'll throw these up and you try to hit them with Arial Ace".
"Star!"

Holly Amarosa

Holly blinked and looked up at the girl. She looked down at Daisy, who was hiding behind her. "It's okay," Holly whispered softly. Molly looked at the girl and watched her nervously. If she tried to lay a hand on Holly, she would make sure that the girl didn't live to see another day. Holly looked up at the girl. "I'm sorry," she whispered, brushing her hair out of her face. Molly floated into her arms and sighed. Holly looked down at the ground, frowning. Why do I keep meeting people here? she thought sadly. Why won't they leave me alone? Molly looked at her nervously, sensing her trainer's sadness.

Kayla Makihatayama

Yuri watched Kayla sleep and sighed. She licked her trainer's face sadly. "How long do you think Holly will be gone?" she asked Jasmine. The Tepig yawned lazily. "I don't know," she said, looking down at the ground. It's my fault that dumb bug attacked her... I should have protected her better... she thought angrily. Rosemary chimed in, "She's fine!" She chased her tail. "She's Kayla, right? She'll get better right away!" Yuri sighed softly and looked at Kayla's flushed face. "I hope so," she muttered.

Sylvia Hanson

"Shiva tends to be not much of a people's person" Sylvia said to girl, who seemed to be inverted to the extreme "but she should still know better than to be aggressive like that" she scolded the Glaceon. Sylvia considered her earlier meeting with Vanille, the encounter with the strange girl still stuck in her mind - it was that encounter that influenced her decision to continue talking to the girl in front of her.
"My name is Sylvia, and as you probably worked out from what I said earlier my Glaceon's name is Shiva. What are your names?"

Zayne Alta

Zayne continued to keep track of the time carefully as Andromeda was once again fairly succesful in hitting the nuts. Zayne had begun using two of them, in order to improve on Andromeda's speed as well as her accuracy and as always she had been up to the challenge breaking both nuts multiple times.
"Not much longer, I have to teach again soon."
I wonder what my next class will be like...
