Valorie gave Selene a skeptical look. Ladies first? Was she teasing herself? Valorie couldn't tell. Regardless, she glanced at all her pokemon currently out one by one before speaking.

"Alright. Charmeleon, Trapinch, Dratini! Take the field. Let's do this!"

Charmeleon looked up. Was that a summoning to battle she heard! She did the closest thing she could to smile, that is to say, smarl, and walked over in front of Valorie. Trapinch waddled along to stand near Charmeleon, and Dratini uncoiled from Valorie's presence and floated out near the others. Valorie resisted the urge to teach them how to take hilariously cute battle poses.

Valorie raised an eyebrow, giving Selene a humorous expression before speaking again in a pseudo serious tone.

"Now don't take it easy on me just because I'm a lady~"

With a passive smile, there seemed to be a moment that Sel and Valorie were simply watching each other. Selene couldn't help but notice that Valorie was watching her as though trying to figure out what she was playing at...her 'ladies first' quip wasn't clever wordplay. She was, quite simply, trying to make light out of the competitive atmosphere that was swelling between the two.

Charmeleon, Trapinch and, of course, Dratini. A three on three battle...sweet. Taking three pokeballs in her hand, Sel grinned and threw them all up into the air - out popped Ryan, Blu and somewhat surprisingly seeing as she was one of the newest pokemon on Selene's team, Horsea. Ri was still recovering from the battle with Bri, and Pansear...well, Sel decided to save him for later - she'd need his attitude when things got tough with Valorie.

"Let's do this then!" she chimed brightly, the tone somewhat at odds with the blazing determination in her brown eyes. "Horsea, Water Gun on Trapinch, Blu use Sing on Charmeleon and Ryan, Thunder Wave on Dratini!" she instructed, watching as her Pokemon leapt into action.

Blu swooped towards Charmeleon, flying around her head in a swerving, random motion to avoid being bitten by her powerful jaws or hit by a jet of flame if the fire lizard so decided. She sang loudly, her song almost like a hypnotic lullaby that would, if heard effectively, put Charmeleon to sleep.

Horsea's Water Gun shot out of the SeaHorse Pokemon's mouth, straight towards Trapinch. She may have been a lower level than Trapinch, but Sel assumed that her speed would more than make up for that.

Meanwhile, Ryan released his Thunder Wave attack, sending it flying towards Dratini. Whether it would hit...Sel wasn't so sure on this one. Ryan was strong, but Dratini was nearly as fast as him, maybe even faster at this point. Only time would tell.

{Thinks he's so clever} Blade snickered as he glanced at the battle {keep your head up} Blade shouted in an effort to motivate Blaze before he returned his attention back to the forest{they have us surrounded why not attack or are they too coward and waiting for us to tire first} Blade wondered. Jacks only worry though was the battle and thankfully Blaze was able to grab hold of snypes arm after the sucker punch and after shaking off some of his dissorientation he tossed Snype into the air "Ok Blaze he's helpless up there use Flamethrower!" Jack shouted as Blaze took a deep breath in and released a powerful stream of fire towards Snype after hearing Blades words of encouragement Blaze attempted to impress one of his idols by winning this fight.

Valorie became absorbed in the battle, balling her fists and grinning.

"Trapinch, use Dig now!"

Trapinch abruptly chomped down on the ground, digging with alarming speed. You would expect digging to slow one down. Not so with Trapinch, who practically just ran down through the ground speedwise. The water gun all but missed her, having no visible effect as it merely grazed her body.

Meanwhile, Charmeleon twitched and flailed about a bit, struggling with the singing.

"Charmeleon-"

Valorie became aware of something odd as Charmeleon leaned forward and let out an irritated roar, shaking off the singing. Her eyes were suddenly glowing white, and the flame on her tail increased significantly in size over the course of a few moments as purple flames boiled in her open mouth. She then proceeded to spew draconian flames in an arc in a direction opposite of the way Blu was flying around her. Valorie was mildly impressed by the display. That wasn't a move she had scene Charmeleon use before. That looked like Dragon Rage!

Meanwhile, Dratini was hit by the thunder wave and whined, shaking her head as if to shake the paralysis off, electricity occasionally sparking across her body. It didn't seem to effect her ability to fly around much however, and she quickly gained altitude.

"...Dratini, use Thunder Wave on Horsea!"

Valorie figured Trapinch could use all the help she could get regarding Horsea, deciding it best to target her with the thunderwave. After a moment, Dratini responded by launching a quick, accurate jolt of electricity in Horsea's direction.

As soon as Snype got a good hit into Charmeleon's chest, his arm was grabbed onto as he was thrown into the air and hit by flamethrower. Getting hit directly by the attack, Snype landed to the ground on one knee. The battle was only starting, as he quickly shrugged it off. "Comon Snype! We got our own share of tricks! Lets show em!" Mark said.

Snype snickered at Blades comment and continued to focus on Blaze. Standing still crossing his arms, He used Double Team and created several clones around Blaze. All of the clones began to talk in unison. ["Kehehehe..." Confused yet?"] He taunted. Each of the clone's eyes began glowing a dark color, while only one was really about to fire Night shade at Blaze...

Selene grunted as Trapinch dug underground and Dratini threw a Thunder Wave attack at Horsea - Horsea wasn't very good at moving on land, this could be diff...hold on! Blu needed to evade an attack too - could she kill two birds with one stone so to speak? She had no time to think it through, so she decided to go with it and deal with any repurcussions later.

"Blu!! Fly upwards and over the flame, grab Horsea and then fly upwards! Horsea, direct your Water Gun attack towards Charmeleon, make sure you don't get hit by any counters Blu! Ryan, use your Agility attack, don't let Trapinch hit you!" she instructed, watching as her plan unfolded.

Blu was luckily an amazingly agile flyer, so he followed her instructions before she'd even finished speaking. Dodging the flame attack, he sliced through the air towards Horsea and grabbed the Pokemon in his feet. Unfortunately, he was too slow to completely protect Horsea from Dratini's Thunder Wave, and the electricity sparked around Horsea's curved tail, making it even more difficult for the Pokemon to move to launch and avoid attacks. But with Blu flying around Charmeleon in circles and then up and over in a random pattern Horsea was able to throw a Water Gun attack at the fire Pokemon.

Sel cursed under her breath - it seemed as though Blu and Horsea were working as a tag team now...Horsea didn't seem to be able to shake off the paralysis, and until she did it seemed that Blu would be playing chauffer for the time being. This could work quite well if she played it right...

She watched carefully as Blu flew upwards into the sky - thankfully Horsea must not be heavy, as Blu's flying was not impeded. Ryan, meanwhile, was using his Agility and moving in a blur, weaving around the battlefield and generally making it difficult for Trapinch to locate where he was from underground - even Sel had difficulty locating him with her own eyes!

Valorie looked up. One did not simply shake off paralysis, unless of course, you were Dratini! Dratini had become frustrated with the difficulty she was experiencing attacking. Her body began to abruptly turn a pale white before a vaguely dratini shaped shell dropped to the ground, sparkling with electricity. Dratini had shed her skin to rid herself of her paralysis!

"Alright, now use double team Dratini!"

Dratini then proceeded to split into two, one a mirror image of the other. It was already impossible to tell which was which by appearance. One of the two proceeded to give chase to Blu and Horsea, the other floating idly and watching.

Meanwhile, Charmeleon unleashed another dragon rage at Horsea. This time she fired it directly into the watergun coming at her. Dragon rage was horrifically powerful against weaker pokemon. Valorie had come to notice that it tended to effortlessly take out wild pokemon in one shot. Also, unlike regular flames, draconian flames were the exact opposite of weak against water. The result was that dragon rage easily plowed straight through the water gun. Not only that, but Charmeleon was using the stream of water, tracing it straight back to it's owner!

Valorie was becoming rather unimpressed with Charmeleon acting on her own. Sure, she wasn't necessarily doing badly, but Valorie still didn't like it.

Meanwhile, Trapinch was nowhere to be seen or found, remaining underground.

Bri was stunned. No one was listening to his warnings! What was he supposed to do? He sent out Nova and called Duster and Drizzle over.
"Um... Thyme already knows this, but something bad is about to happen. We all need to keep an eye out, ok?" Bri said nervously.
"Whatever," Nova said as he looked around. He was ready for anything that was coming. As if a few bug types was going to scare him!
"Nova, you're too silly! Don't worry, Bri! We'll take care of it!" Duster squeaked.
"Yeah, you can count on us!" Drizzle said. His pokemon began walking around, keeping an ey out, as promised. Except Thyme. She stayed right where she was in front of Brian.

Sel watched as the Dragon Rage split through the Water Gun and frowned - that was unusual. But as she knew, Ice attacks were powerful against Dragon type attacks - would it be possible to freeze the ball of energy? It was worth a try. "Blu, use your Ice beam on that Dragon rage, and fly upwards, Horsea shoot another Water Gun at Charmeleon while Blu is busy with her Dragon Rage! Make sure you avoid Dratini Blu!" she instructed, waiting with interest to see if Charmeleon could avoid both an Ice Beam and a Water Gun with her Dragon Rage.

She noticed that Dratini had used Double Team again, how annoying. That move had wound her up something chronic last time. "Ryan, leap over the still Dratini and Thunderbolt it!" that should help them work out which one is the real one, then it would be all out offense against that one. Ryan needed to be fast, however, as Trapinch was still underground having not popped up - luckily his speed and stamina were his strongest points thought Selene as he leapt over the idle Dratini, striking out at it with his Thunderbolt.

She was right, this battle was proving to be better than their last one.

The ice beam struck the dragon rage and the draconian flames just sort of died out. Charmeleon threw up her arms in a last ditch effort to protect herself as she was hit by a torrent of water and a beam of ice. When the attack cleared, Charmeleon was down.

Valorie frowned, returning Charmeleon. She had been too weak from previous battles to stand up to the attacks. Meanwhile, Ryan leaped over what was the real Dratini. After all. Why would Dratini create a clone just to leave it behind? She had been trying to harass Blu to get him to mess up by having her clone chase him. Meanwhile, she winced as she was shocked. It didn't seem to have a whole lot of effect, though. In retaliation, she promptly launched a thunderwave at Ryan as he soared past, the hyper accurate attack was her immediate reaction to being attacked whilst using Double Team due to training. Valorie hoped that could slow the speed demon mouse down a bit.

"That's right Dratini! Don't let them get away with that!"

Meanwhile, Trapinch was still nowhere to be seen.

Selene's initial joy turned to dismay as Ryan was hit with Thunder Wave...she was unsure how much damage it would have done to him seeing as he was using his Thunderbolt at the same time as he passed over Dratini...either way, it couldn't be particularly good for him.

It wasn't. He wasn't fully paralysed, but Sel could sense that he was finding it difficult to move as quickly as before from the frustration in his face - he looked as though he was trying to move through a particularly thick, muddy swamp. He was still speedy, don't get her wrong, compared to other pokemon he was still fast, but for Ryan this was torturous. He turned and glared straight at Dratini, countering with another Thunderbolt attack from right behind her where he had landed after being hit by Thunder Wave. Grimacing, Selene shook her head.

"Ryan I didn't tell you to do that! No matter how angry you are you need to listen to me bubsicle!" she shouted agitatedly, "Now use your Quick Attack on Dratini and get moving again - you may paralyse it again with your Static! After Pikachu has used the Quick Attack, Blu drop Horsea by the hole that Trapinch dug - Horsea use Water Gun into the hole and give it everything you've got! Blu, fly straight at Dratini and use your Ice Beam, don't get too close and be ready to fly upwards if she tries to hit you!"

She watched as Ryan charged towards Dratini as fast as he could - admittedly slower than usual, Dratini would probably evade the attack, Ryan was ready to keep running after the outcome, whatever that may be. But Blu was there with his Ice Beam, ready to strike in whatever direction Dratini moved, hovering close by. Meanwhile, Horsea had shot a powerful jet of water into the hold Trapinch had disappeared in, hoping to flush out the ground-type pokemon.

Blaze had become confused by the multiple Snype's that were staring at him and his annoying voice didn't help either. "Ok Blaze since we're at a disadvantage lets put them at one too" Charmander understood what Jack was saying and quickly released a dark black smoke cloud from his mouth all around the battlefield. At the moment they could see nothing but Jack had a plan, the smog was very explossive and any high heat would set it off "Ok jump out and use flamethrower" It was a trick Jack had practised for years but Charmanders flamethrower has never been powerful enough. As Blaze got himself out of the smog covered are he fired a flamethrower attack and watched as the smoke had caused a large explosion. But Snype was clever so Blaze braced himself for anything.

As Snype prepared his night shade attack, he noticed that blaze had another clever idea going on. He remembered something like thiss occuring before... Smokescreen then fire equaling an explosion. As each of the clones looked up at Blaze prepared to fired a flamethrower toward the smoke down below to take out all of the clones. He wasn't going to get away from the explosion, so Snype decided to use it to his advantage, while taking a hit as well. The real Snype lept up to the center of the explosion. Taking a good hit from the attack, the explosion propelled Snype up toward Blaze.

"Careful Snype! Fury Swipes!" Mark called out. As Snype propelled up to Blaze, he unleashed a fury of scratches toward him with his claws.

{What!} Blaze was more than surprised when he saw Snype rocketing towards him claws looking ready to strike Jack grinned "Mark's smarter than I thought" But Jack well and knew that there was no way to dodge the attack now "Brace yourself Blaze" Jack shouted although he knew it was futile, Blaze put his hands in front of his face and was scratched furiously by Snype and the situation was made worse, there was no way Blaze could have a good landing with Snype attacking him like that. {If im going down your coming with me} Blaze grabbed Snype close and gripped him in his arms almost like a hug as they fell to the ground. "Blaze you okay" Jack shouted unable to see anything due to a dust cloud created by the fall. Jack could only watch on and wait for the dust to clear and hope Blaze was alright.

Valorie grinned with satisfaction as Ryan was hit with the thunderwave. Once again the thunderbolt seemed to have only minor effect. Dratini's focus was torn between Blu and Ryan.

"Alright Dratini, crank up that double team!"

Dratini split into two again, each one moving to their respective side out of the way of Ryan's attack. Abruptly as this was happening one of the clones that was tailing Blu got in his face and pressed her nose to his beak, smiling brightly. She was obstructing Blu's vision. While she could not touch Blu physically, the clone was also not see through. Valorie looked up and resisted the urge to laugh.she found it cute. Meanwhile, a third clone came back to join the two not harassing Blu. There were four in all.

Horsea tried to flood the hole but it was already rather deep and the soil's absorbing slowed down progress. Seeing as Horsea had stopped and was no longer high in th air, after only a moment the ground nearby broke right next to Horse. Trapinch leapt out, jaws open and ready for the attack, hoping to take Horsea by surprise. It was a sound plan. After all, it left almost no time for reaction, and who would've suspected a slow ground pokemon like Trapinch to suddenly go on the aggressive on a water pokemon of all types?

Trapinch would be trying to use a bite attack. Her huge jaws were comical in appearance, but terrifying when those huge pointed teeth were aimed to clamp down on you. She had one of the stringest bites ever seen on nom-evolved pokemon. If successfull she would actually not let go, clamping down as if for dear life.

Meanwhile, three of the four Dratini were staring Ryan down as if daring him to attack.

Horsea turned her head to face Trapinch as he shot out of the ground next to her, the Water still shooting in a jet out of her mouth - when Selene had instructed her to give it everything, she had really taken it to heart. Although her tail was paralysed, she could still move her chest and neck muscles to turn her face towards Trapinch, and the Ground Pokemon was so close, Sel didn't see how the attack couldn't blow Trapinch away. That was before Trapinch's strong jaws closed over Horsea's tail. Horsea cried out in pain, before her eyes glowed brightly and Selene recognised a Focus Energy attack. Frowning, she watched as Horsea wriggled in pain before shooting another Water Gun at Trapinch, this one even more powerful than before and Sel realised what Horsea had done. The Focus Energy had raised the critical hit ratio of her attacks, and combined with her Sniper ability, this meant the Water Gun was thrice as powerful.

Meanwhile, over in the air Dratini clones had surrounded Blu and Ryan in the air. Sel was stuck in a dilemma - Ryan couldn't use a Thunder attack for fear of hitting Blu, being a Flying type the power of Ryan's Thunderbolt would just take Blu out no questions asked. Luckily, Blu remembered Dratini's Double Team technique, so wasn't overly phased by it - he'd defeated this method once before and he could again. It was with this thought that he stared back cooly into the Dratini clone that was pushed right up in his beak, pecking forward at it so as to find whether it was a clone or not - the Peck would surely dissipate the clone somewhat.

"Okay Blu, let's separate!" shouted Selene, and in a flash Blu dropped Ryan. "Ryan, use your Thunderbolt attack on the Dratini, Blu, use your Ice Beam on the other Dratini, if the Dratini you just pecked didn't disappear. If it did, direct your Ice Beam onto the other one!" yes there were 4 Dratini, but there were 2 of Ryan and Blu. Selene watched proudly as Ryan fell through the air, launching ferocious Thunderbolts up at the two Dratini closest to him and Blu also followed her instructions.

Snype's arm was grabbed onto after using fury swipes. After Blaze was hit by the fury of attacks, Blaze held Snype into a hug and sent him down to the ground with him. The impact caused a large dust cloud to form as he made impact onto the ground below.

"Snype! You still kicking over there?" Mark called out. He could see the glimmer in Snype's eyes in the distance. He wasn't about to get himself into another draw... not this time. Once the dust cloud cleared out, Snype was still in the Blaze's grip.

"Ugh... hey. Too... close buddy." Snype said as he used his Night shade to get out of Blaze's grip. He ment to use it during his double team assault but found this was just as good of an opportunity. Snype got up to his feet, hands on his Knees.

"Hang in there Snype..." Mark said quietly to himself.

"Hm" Jack smirked both pokemon emerged from the dust alright and ready for battle, as alright as they could be after that fall at least. Blaze was then hit in the face by a night shade attack but that didn't faze him too much. Blaze was panting heavily and it was obvious that Snype was tired as well prompting Jack's next decision of returning Blaze to his pokeball "Take a rest buddy" Jack place the pokeball unto his belt and began thinking about his next pokemon would be Shadow cant even attack Snype so he's out, Rocky is too big for the forest so he's out too Jack was plying out everything in his head every outcome "How about you Blade?" Jack asked knowing Blade could rub the florr with Snype if he had a chance. {No thanks} Quick and simple Blade shot him down returning his gaze to the forest. "Ok" Jack had made up his mind " Go Giga!" Jack had released his Druddigon.

Trapinch clenched her jaws when struck with the water gun before abruptly losing her grip and falling, hitting the ground and fainting. Valorie watched, dismayed as Blu launched an ice beam that happened to hit the real Dratini. Dratini seemed pretty hurt, and Valorie did something she didn't usually do. She gave up, returning Dratini and Trapinch. She then sighed, a bit disappointed. Though, a part of her had been expecting it.

"WHAT?" shouted Sel, her face falling into a deep frown. "NO. GET DRATINI BACK OUT THERE," she pulled out Horsea and Blu's pokeballs, returning them with jolts of red light. "One on one now, Your strongest versus my strongest. Come on Valorie, you're not giving up on this, not now!" This was shocking - it just wasn't like Valorie to give in like that...it was worrying, was Sel going too hard? Perhaps she needed to tone it down a bit, not get so carried away.

"Come on Val, just Dratini versus Ryan...let's finish this," she urged more gently this time, an almost pleading look in her eyes, she genuinely wanted to finish this. Ryan needed more experience, he was shattered and still paralyzed but the experience would do him well. She needed to keep him battling.
