Intro
Do you feel like reading a good suspense fic or you want to read more Pokemon POV fics, but not sure how to find the genre you want nor can't be bothered to look through every thread? Well, I'm here to help. :)

Inspired by The Fan Fiction Catalog from Serebii, The PC Fanfiction Index is a place where you can be able to find a fic that has your desired genre. Not only that, this is another way for the writers that wants a a couple new readers to look and review their fic. ;)

The rules
1. If you want your fic to be included in the list, you must include the following information:

The Hand of Arceus (I'm Not Your Hero)
Set in the distant future, this story follows the fight between the Sword & Shield, a secret government organisation set up to stop underground criminal activity in Sinnoh, and the Eclipse, a just-as-secret criminal organisation run by a cloaked mastermind known only as Phoenix. On the surface this looks like good versus evil, but this is really just a man fighting for what he believes in against a world of people who think he's insane.

The story is a collection of letters from the untold side of Pokemon Militia Recruit Felix Bailey that shows the deep, darker side of the pokemon world other than the funny fantasies that Ash Ketchum leads you on.

Life's been pretty hectic on me as if I'm their intern these past few weeks, so that's why I'm unable to update this yet. I will get to work on this however tomorrow either before or after my work orientation (will do volunteer work at my library).

There's one thing I want to mention, though. I'm going to change the number of genres you're allowed to put in. Instead of two, I'm going to put in four. Reason for this is I know sometimes it's not easy putting the genre for your story (even I had trobule thinking what's really the right genre for some of my stories, and even changing them...not good idea, folks). For those that posted before this announcement, don't worry, you guys aren't affected. I'm still trying to work a few kinks here and there. After this post though, if anyone posts more than four genres, then I'll have to ask those that broke that rule to reconsider which genres fits most for your fic.

Now, with regards to the subject of the Index, Bay, I'd like to make some comments, I hope they're appreciated and whatever is of use in them can be, well, made use of.

I personally didn't like the idea of extending the genre submits to four at the beginning, but that's because I like things discretely and distinctively categorized. In the case of narrations however, where there's too many things to combine and derive from, that worry is moot by design. Thinking back about what I'm going to suggest further down, however, has made me realize how good the idea actually is, so congratulations and way well done.

With regards to the choices of genre tag, maybe I'm missing something but... What is the purpose the "Other"? What does it mean if we put "Other" as one of our tags? Is it like "None of the Above"? May I tackle the subject a bit further?

Beyond that I think the list is OK, the "angst" tag makes my eyes twitch because of the "market magnet for 'wangst'" factor but that's my rant and nothing else; though I'd like to see more tags that describe the writing style rather than simply the narrative, because so far we only distinguish between "One-Shots" and "Chaptered Fics" or summarize the pace in "action", "adventure" and "whatever else"; there's some other good distinction that could be made, such as long one-shots that are actually composed of a collection of snippets, or a story that is comprised of multiple POVs, or distinguish between a reminiscence of events versus "actually ocurring action". I for one sometimes feel like reading a good "narration of epics" story but don't know exactly what to look for to find them.

Of course, the whole point is that it's better to have short, concise tags that make such description and categorization patent, rather than use the Summary, because the summary tells us what the story is about, not how it was written, it's just not its purpose. Having inclued "Canon-Based Character" and "Pokémon POV" down there, for example, was a very good touch.

Now, because I don't know that much about genres and narrative as to suggest the actual tags or even discuss how much neccesary they are, I'll be leaving for a while, maybe do a little research before coming back with something more practical. I just wanted to leave the idea open.
