I wasn't referring myself to you specifically, but to everyone who talks about this matter and end up mixing porn with erotism, and these two with "nude art" itself.

Well don't quote me then.

At any rate, the fact that it's our "natural state" is a weak argument because that would mean it's okay to just walk around naked and obviously it isn't.

I hate clothes. No, not seeing them, but wearing them, and don't whenever possible. I personally enjoy the freedom it gives me. Clothes are too restrictive, too uncomfortable. Nudity in itself is a beautiful thing. We've been given these amazing bodies and it's truly a shame that people feel we can't be proud of them. If I could live in a nudist community year 'round. I would.

I reject the argument that being nude is wrong. Too me that's a silly argument. Clothing is necessary to protect our bodies from the elements. Other than that, it only serves some outdated moral code which thankfully less and less people pay any attention to. Puritanism died a long time ago. Let it stay dead and rest in peace.

I'm not entirely comfortable with the artistic judgment a lot of people seem to be making in this thread. "It's okay if it's ARTISTIC ENOUGH", "It's okay if it doesn't focus on the nudity", etc. is what I mean. It reminds me of the barriers that artists had to break at the end of the 19th century, where they had to prove to the artists of the time that their work was worth doing because it was so different from what they were doing at the time. Specifically @Kura, if you had been a traditional artist of that time and was shown something like this, you probably would have made the same judgment that most traditional artists of the time had made - that it was childish and didn't involve thought. I'm not so much equating that kind of art with nudity, but the judgment "if I think it's artistic enough" is the same that the judgmental artists thought before.

If you want it to be art, it's art. Something pornographic, explicit, can be art. Dorm Girls After Dark 3 can be artistic.

I prefer a display of stylish clothing instead of full nudity because I think it enhances the beauty of a person, but that's just me.

I don't see anything wrong with nudity in art though, we are what we are (human) after all. It's been going on for centuries, who am I to judge? Like everything else though, it all depends on the place (D.A. was one good example where it's seen as acceptable) where it is showcased.

I believe the human body to be extremely beautiful. If I had my way... the Olympics would be done naked.

I find Nude Art to be a very lazy form of art because it implies that if just take a picture of or paint a nude person, it is art.

I don't think I get it. How does it imply that? Ceramics are a form of art but that doesn't mean that if you take clay and stick it in an oven you've made art. Why's this different?

Actually, I've taken a ceramics class where we've done just that to impress the teacher. What I'm saying is that art shouldn't have a formula for creating it. "Nude Art", as it's title implies, is just adding nudity to your art.

I myself don't like it.
Yes, photography is art. But there's nothing wrong with clothing! In my opinion, it's not much better than (the kind of photo/video that when posted here results in an instant ban).

Excuse my not having used the actual word. I know this place has a filter, but I don't know if that's censored or not.

I agree, there's a difference between art that's had nudity deliberately added to it, and art that just happens to be nude.

The problem with nude art is the thin line between art that has nudity or if its purpose is for erotica. Say what you will about 'it's just a body,' it's in our biology to focus on and be driven to certain parts of the body.

This upcoming semester I'm taking a figure drawing class to help improve my anatomy, if I have to draw a nude model the sole purpose is to learn about the proportions and overall structure of the human body. That's not sexual at all.

However, when you see photographers with portfolios that have nudity with everything but the sexual organs out of focus, then yeah, that's just plain erotica. I find most modern erotica art to be really cheap in that light, but that's just me.

Nude art and erotica can both be forms of art if one considers it to be.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I don't have a real problem with nudity or erotica. I don't have a problem with nude art or erotica as long as the model consented (and has the ability to consent).

Nudity in itself is a beautiful thing. We've been given these amazing bodies and it's truly a shame that people feel we can't be proud of them. If I could live in a nudist community year 'round. I would.

Nudity is a natural thing and shows the true beauty of women. Heck, there have been groups of women arguing about why they have the right to go topless as men are in places like beaches or pools. Nude art is fine as long as it isn't those Rule 34 type of arts you find on danbooru. I wonder when did people start creating a mentality of nudity being taboo?

There really shouldn't be any taboo at all associated with nudity, it's completely natural.
I think a world without clothes would be much more relaxed, there would be no stigma about making sure you're wearing smart clothes for a job interview, people wouldn't judge you on your dress, and you wouldn't have to worry about what to wear on a night out and such.

Of course, I live in the U.K. so if I just wondered out of my house naked one day, I'd get frostbite, and then arrested.
Shame.

Theres nothing wrong with being naked in your own home though, that's the single best thing about living alone / with a partner.

Clothes are gross, yo.

If it has been created and invokes a response from within (not mandatory), I call it art. So even tacky nudes are art. I wouldn't post nudes without developing an alter ego to hold responsible and I'd probably censor my face. Unless it's in a pm to you, baby ;)

I think it's been tabooed because people get "excited" when they see nudes, I however have no problem with nudity though, although I am young I feel more natural and relaxed when I'm naked, for nude art, so long as it's purpose wasn't for erotica, no problem to me xD
