Yesterday at 4:43 p.m., while waiting to go back to work:


My second shiny Registeel appeared in Emerald .

After a fairly long battle, with me afraid I'd have to use the Masterball(had to go back to work), I successfully caught it in an Ultra Ball. Like my shiny Torchic and 2 shiny Electrode, shiny Registeel has a Careful nature.

It didn't take too long to appear, it was probably less than 100 SR's when I got it(thank you Emerald RNG ) I saved the game at least 3 times.

and a chained Shellos

id like to ask a question, since there seem to be a lot of people who seem good at Shiny Hunting

whats the least and most amount of SoftResets you've ever had to do to get a pokemon?

im trying to do my first softreset shiny (Rotom) and i want to know roughly what to expect

Well, we all have experienced a wide variety of SR amounts.

From somewhere around 100 I believe, to over 20,000, or maybe 50,000, depending on whatever Dark Steelix had said it took him.

So it can be any time, but it's most commonly within 20,000 resets that they are found. 20,000 is even a stretch, most people say within 10,000, but I went 12,000 without any shinies...

So it could be ANYTHING.

I'm quickly sprinting through Diamond trying to SR for a shiny Dialga and then Uxie, moar shinies for me!

My very first shiny Giratina took me 38000+SR's to get, Heatran over 62000 SR's but my shiny Squirtle came at 35 SR's, so as you can see, you can get a shiny at any number.

My shiny Giratina I'm hunting in Platinum is over 62000 SR's. I'm usually SRing for other shiny targets as I SR for Giratina, but it doesn't want to shine . I plan on leaving Giratina when the Darkrai event rolls around, unless I need the National Dex to go to the island, which is probably the case.

Nice shinies. If you've noticed you have to wait til a Co-Owner approves you....

But, uh, that may be a while.
You can hang around anyway until you're officially approved.

I've never played Pokemon Ranger. It just doesn't interest me enough. So I don't know what to tell you.

My quickest was my first shiny, Beldum, in under 100 resets. I roughly estimate it was around 80. Most? Totodile. Probably around 32,000 resets. In a week. Yeah. I went crazy...

But most and never gotten? Charmander. Too many resets to count. I gave up for now.

That whole 62,000 thing makes me choke a little over Magikarp. I hope I can get it soon, however...

Last night I got the chain to 20. Today after about 15 minutes of looking for good grass, it breaks.

Now I can't even find the things and when I do they break at like 3. And that time when it broke, it was perfect grass selection. 4 of a kind, farthest away, not touching a wall.

Lost my chance at a shiny Giratina in Platinum, thanks to my stupid thumb. I have an elastic holding down the L-R buttons, so I had my thumb near the Start-Select ones, for easy access. I glance down and see shiny Giratina too late and my thumb pressed down on reflex, SRing the game.

I'm totally upset about this, I could have had Giratina today and I could have started SRing for Darkrai tomorrow. Now I just gotta hope the RNG is nice to me and another shiny one appears. I'm hoping that its similar to if you got a shiny Starly at the beginning of the game when SRing for a starter, but I doubt that.

Thanks. I'm unsure how the RNG works, I don't really bother with it.

I'm still SRing for Giratina, but no new shiny one popped up, I doubt it will. Pretty mad with myself for resetting over it, but its all I can do. Meh, I think I'll start the game again, I don't think Giratina is going to shine anytime soon.

Actually, can't you just download the Wonder Card for the Members Pass, and then save again in front of Tina, and go and get it later?

And you should just spend a few days more SRing, just in case your game loves you for going so hard for it.

Wow that sucks. I have never managed to SR a shiny. They never seem to like me.

Didn't do much last night. I am playing ranger 2. I only play it for the events. The actual game itself is poor. Can't remember the name of the person that wanted it but if you don't want events then there isn't really any need to get it as the game is very boring.

Well if any of you have Platinum, be sure to download the event for Darkrai, as it has started. I'll be rushing through the game and SRing for my legit shiny Darkrai. I have to trade a Timid synchronizer and hope that the shiny one has that nature.

You guys are all so lucky, I don't have even a working DS.

Mine sucks, so I get bored and drop kick it and all that all the time, it freezes by touch, and I never did anything to it, so I decided to take my anger out on it now

But I'm hoping for a new DS for X-Mas, along with Platinum, so I can SR for a shiny Darkrai and Shaymin as well.

Hopping through Diamond, these bastards love to piss me off and cause stall wars...

Only on Fantina. God, please let the manufacturers of the DS suffer a painful death, for wasting so much of my time.
