I've always beaten gyms in order. I don't like to mess up the order, personally.

Cheating = Nooby
It isn't cheating, you might want to reread the first post. You still have to do the ones you skip, just not in the normal order. And only certain Gyms have optional orders.

Nope, I never did skip the gym order in my only playthrough of Diamond. The only time I skipped the order was in the original games where I usually did the Silph Co. quest right after Lavender Town. Once I defeated Giovanni, I went straight for the gym before heading south. The gym has the Soul Badge before the Marsh Badge so I was technically skipping the order.

It's a common occurance when I play FR/LG. I often proceed to Cinnabar Island before taking on Sabrina.

I usually beat Cinnabar Gym before Saffron Gym because i usually have more offensive attacks against Fire pokemon, weak fire pokemon. Saffron is just harder to me, so i like to make it a little easier on myself and go to Cinnabar.

No, I never really did go the "improper" way. I never thought of doing it that way though...I think I may just have to try it that way...

Well since it never occurred to me that I could skip, I never did. Plus, with the whole level scheme and all, it seems a little wiser in the long run.

I did that in Red a bit; skipped past half the gyms so I could get to Fuschia and go to the Safari Zone. I don't think I did that in D/P though.

In all the previous generations, never had it occured to me that you could've skipped one or two Gym Leaders and go on to the next. I've always leveled up my pokémon ahead of the next Gym Leader's pokémon's levels so I would beat them easily, but thinking of how you could skip one would be pretty cool to accomplish or experience.

Nevertheless, I would probably just stick to how the game was meant to be played. However, I would at least try once to see how hard or even fun it could be to do so.

I thought you could do this in FR/LG, since it becomes somewhat confusing as to who you face, but I never do it.

Nope, I didn't know you could even do this. If I knew you could do this I still probably wouldn't do it. It makes it a lot easier.

In Red I think I did Sabrina before Koga and maybe even Blaine.

In Ruby I once skipped Brawly.

In GSC I would always do Pyrce before Jasmine because Pryce was oddly lower leveled than Jasmine.

I've done that quite a few times, it's especially easy on pokemon crystal, you can skip the 4th gym and go straight to the seventh(But the you have to do four, five and six... although you do catch the red gyarados earlier that way... hehe)

No in DPPT but in FR I usually fight Koga and sometimes Blane? before Sabina. I went to Silph.Co and they all had low leveled 30s/20s and I had lvl 40s

I always fought Wake first because Maylene was haed to beat, but that was in DIamond and Pearl, In platinum (this kills me), they made it so that you had to face all the gyms in proper order, cause when you try to go to Pastoria gym first, it says that Wake is in Veilstone, and when you meet him there, he goes back to Pastoria, but when you go back to Pastoria, the NPC still says that he is in Veilstone, and that I have to fight the Veilstone gym first, DRAT, Veilstone was always the hardest gym

Lol, I just did. Really extreme.

I did the tweaking glitch, got Darkrai and went to Canalave. I had beaten Veilstone's gym recently. So, I went and beat Byron. Then I found out that I can fly to Snowpoint. (Don't know how.) I beat Candice. Now I have caught Dialga and the lake trio and I have not even visited Pastoria. =P
