Trade Corner Rules
Rules
→ Follow PokéCommunity Rules.
While we do not enforce the 25 character limit and 4 word rule in the Trade Shops sub-forum, we WILL enforce the rule in the main Trade Corner forum. Posts such as "what's your fc?" and "ok I'm getting online" made in the main forum will be considered as spam.
→ Hacked Pokémon are prohibited.
See the Hacked Pokemon in the Glossary for details.
→ All threads will undergo moderator approval before being displayed.
To reduce clutter, all threads will go through a moderator's approval before threads can become visible on the forum. Please do not bother moderators asking if or when your thread will be approved. We will get to your thread as soon as possible.
→ All Trade Shops will be located in the Trade Shops sub-forum.
Failure to create your shop in the Trade Shops sub-forum will result in an automatic rejection and deletion of your shop.
→ To have a Trade Shop, you must be offering at least TWENTY different species of Pokémon.
If you have less than 20 specific offers, use the Quick Trade Thread.
→ There will be ONE THREAD per person.
Each person gets one Thread to offer all Pokémon and services. Contact a Trade Corner Moderator if you need to edit your Thread's title, close your old Thread in order to make a new Thread, or merge/delete posts to aid your layout.
→ Cloning Services are not allowed in Trade Shop.
To avoid users from having their Pokémon stolen, you cannot offer/request cloning services in individual threads. We will not be able to recover any stolen Pokémon. Please use the Official Cloning Thread to find good, reputable cloners.
→ Regarding Event Pokémon...
Only trade official Event Pokémon, as indicated by: Bulbapedia or Serebii.
— The following Events are prohibited: Fan Made Events, Pre-released events, and Korean Events in Gen 4 (transferred to Gen 5 is okay)
— The following shiny Pokémon are prohibited: Mew (unless from Japanese Emerald), Celebi, Arceus, Victini, Castelia City Zorua, Lostlorn Zoroark, Reshiram, Zekrom, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Pokémon directly from the Dream World, 10 ANIV Events, non-preset shiny NDS Wondercard Events (Events without the Shiny Check are okay)
— The following Dream World Pokemon are prohibited: If the Pokemon is not on this list, it is not released yet via Dream World!
— You are not allowed to import a Wondercard into a game and trade the resulting event to other members; please keep those events to yourself.
→ Regarding IV/EV Shops...
At least 10 Pokémon offered must have your OT/ID. Filler Pokémon do not count.
→ Regarding giveaways...
— Unless you have explicit permission from the Pokémon's owner, do not give away another person's Pokémon.
— Please do not have "guess a number" or "guess my favorite Pokémon" games, as they tend to generate spam.
— You may give away Pokémon within your Trade Thread. You can create a separate Giveaway thread if you feel like you need the extra space, but you must have your old shop temporarily closed. We love you, but we don't need you trying to manage two threads at one time. :)
→ Regarding challenges, discussions, & events...
— Anyone is free to make one of these threads in the main forum.
— Make sure your thread complies with all Trade Corner Rules.
— Do not create a duplicate of a thread that is currently active.
— Do not abandon your own challenge or event midway through. If you neglect your own thread, you will not be allowed to create any future challenges or events.
→ Respect all distribution rights.
Intentionally disrespecting distribution rights of an original trainer's Pokémon will result in an infraction.
→ On Action Replay Codes...
If you use an Action Replay to maintain your shop, be sure to list which codes you use (e.g. cloning, fast egg hatching, max items). Please do not exchange codes on the forum.
→ Only discuss Wi-Fi Trading.
Do not mini-mod or backseat mod (e.g. posting "this should be closed" or "this belongs in Quick Trade"). Do not flame others. Do not post your life stories. If you see something that goes against the rules, REPORT IT!
→ Trade only Pokémon for Pokémon.
You may not trade Pokémon for money, merchandise, video games, trading cards, collectibles, Wii games, Neopoints, etc. Keep trading within the actual Pokémon games.
→ On Thread Revival...
You may only revive your own thread. Do not revive someone's thread that was last posted in over a month ago. Discussions in the main forum may be bumped indefinitely.
→ Regarding Pokécheck...
While we encourage its use for hack checking purposes, we do not endorse its use for trading nor cloning Pokémon that are not your own. Pokémon directly download from Pokécheck are considered hacked and are forbidden from being traded.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I trade here?
You can check someone's Trade Shop and see if someone has what you want. If you cannot find a Pokémon or item, try using the Search Function. If that does not work, try using the Quick Trade Thread. If you have 20 or more Pokémon, create a Trade Shop!
What can I include in my Trade Shop?
In addition to offering the required 20+ different species Pokémon, you may also offer services such as breeding services, training services, transferring services, items, giveaways, etc.
Why can I not have more than one active thread?
This is to reduce clutter.
When can I bump my shop?
You may bump your own shop without an update once a week, even if your shop is considered dead. Alternatively, you can delete your last post in your shop and then post again to bump it without any penalty.
What happen's if I abandon my shop?
If your shop continues to receive requests and you have been absent for more than 30 days, your shop will be closed to prevent needless bumping.
Why can't I see my thread?
Before your thread can become visible on the forum, it needs to be approved by a moderator who can determine whether the thread is suitable for the forum.
How long will it take my thread to be approved?
Honestly, we can't put a certain time frame on this. We are human beings with lives outside of the internet, but we can assure you that while we are currently online we will get to all requests as soon as possible.
Can I run a Trade Shop with a Partner?
Yes; just work things out with your partner(s).
How can I make my shop successful?
We have made plenty of guides exclusive to our trade community! Use the CSS and Thread Presentation Guides to help design an amazing layout. We also included several free layouts. Use the RNG Guide and Help Thread to obtain your own high-quality Pokémon. You can always draw inspiration from other Trade Shops and from other websites. Don't be afraid to put effort into your thread and your trading business because it really shows that you care.
What if I get my Pokémon off a fake GTS server?
Public Pokémon are free to be traded on Trade Corner so long as they pass legality checks. However, we highly discourage using a fake GTS server as the source of your business. Trade Corner is primarily a trading community and we would like to maintain it strictly to Wi-Fi trading.
How do I know if my Pokémon is hacked?
Many resources and helpers are available. First, check if the Pokémon is listed in the Blacklist. Also, post in the PokéCommunity's Official Hack Report for assistance. If you want further evaluation, feel free to contact tabor62, twistedpuppy, or Mac.
What if I unknowingly offer/trade a hacked Pokémon?
Relax! If is an accident, then a Trade Corner Moderator will issue a PM warning. Either way, you must remove the hacked Pokémon, refund whoever else has received it, and possibly provide its information to a Trade Corner Moderator so the hacked Pokémon is added to the Pokémon Blacklist.
What if I deliberately offer/trade a hacked Pokémon?
Depending on the amount of hacks and the severity of your offense, you may either receive a warning or a 1 point infraction that lasts 1 month.
What if someone scams me?
Report the user. However, PokéCommunity dubs itself in no way responsible for scams, Pokémon steals in trades, etc. If a stranger is asking to temporarily hold your Pokémon through a trade, do so at your own risk. You are responsible for preventing your Pokémon from being stolen online.
What happens if I scam someone?
You will receive a 3 point infraction that will last 3 months.
What happens if I scam many?
You will receive a 9 point infraction (automatic ban) that will last two weeks.
What happens if I constantly make new trade Threads, despite already having one active Thread?
You will receive a 3 point infraction that will last for 3 months. Please stick to one Trade Thread.

BL - Borderline Pokémon, as indicated by Smogon's BL tier list and Smogon's BL2 tier list.

EVs - Effort Values; guides are located here (4th Gen) and here (5th Gen).
Fan Made Events - Events created by fans that are not official Nintendo Events.
Hacked Pokémon - Not able to naturally exist within the game. We automatically define Hacked Pokémon as the following:
— Pokémon created and/or edited via Pokesav or Pokegen (or any other editor)
— Pokémon obtained via Action Replay codes (e.g. Pokemon Modifier, Catch a Trainer's Pokémon, Always Encounter Shiny Pokémon)
— Pokémon with ridiculously high stats (or over 510 EVs)
— Pokémon with an illegal location (e.g. Mystery Zone)
— Pokémon with illegal moves and/or egg move combinations
— Pokémon with an ID number higher than 65535
— Pokémon with date Jan. 0, 2000
— Pokémon with unreleased ribbons
— Any unreleased Dream World Pokémon with Dream World Ability and/or caught in Dream Ball
— Any female Dream World Starter Pokémon
— Any shiny Pokémon directly from the Dream World
— Any non-Event Pokémon caught in a Cherish Ball
— Any non-Event Pokémon holding an Event ribbon (Classic/Premier)
— Any Celebi, Jirachi, Arceus, Keldeo, Meloetta, and Genesect without an Event OT (Arceus from 5th Gen Dream World with your OT is legal)

— Pokémon raised with boosted Experience points code
— Pokémon raised with infinite Rare Candy, vitamins, EV wings codes
— Pokémon legitimately obtained but with aid of flashcart/emulator (including backing up save files)
— Using codes to obtain infinite legal items
— Using max Battle Points code to tutor Pokémon
— Using Rebattle codes
— Using IV/EV Check codes to check a Pokemon's stats
NU - Neverused Pokémon, as indicated by Smogon's NU tier list
OU - Overused Pokémon, as indicated by Smogon's OU tier list
PKRS - Pokerus, a virus that doubles EVs (it appears as a :| face if cured)
RNG - Random Number Generator, which is a legit method to breed/catch high IV or shiny Pokémon; here's our RNG help thread and Smogon also has general guides
RU - Rarelyused Pokémon, as indicated by Smogon's RU tier list
T - Touched (has experience, Pokerus, extraneous ribbons, changes to moveset/stats/EVs/condition, or a nickname)
