Well, the title says it all. What do you think are the best programs released by Microsoft?

Way of doing it:
In the Poll, post your #1 software released by Microsoft
In your post, put down at least 3-5 programs you think are the best. Well I think I'll go first.

Microsoft Security Essentials
Windows Live Messenger
Microsoft Office

Now it's your turn.

Word and PowerPoint would count under Office.

1. The Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, etc.) - The big money maker. Even more of a money maker than the OSes.
2. Microsoft Forefront (corporate anti-malware/computer security suite) - Works much better than most of its competitors, while being much more resource efficient.
3. Microsoft Security Essentials (free AV) - Quite competent, especially considering it's free.
4. Windows Media Player (WMP 12, that is, which comes with Windows 7) - WMP 12 is very, very stable, looks sleek, and has increased file compatibility. It puts other media players to shame with its latest iteration.

And that's the good things I can think of off the top of my head.

I've never heard if Microsoft Forefront. Is it as good as Malwarebytes Anti-malware?

The thing is, it's a security suite that Microsoft only sells to corporations.

What do you use in place of Microsoft Office then? And, I agree with you on some of those. I prefer Chrome or Opera to IE. I prefer VLC to Media Player. Lastly, I prefer paint.NET, GIMP, or Photoshop to Paint. So yes, I do agree with you on most parts and I see where your going.

NOTE: Any MODs can add some options to the poll if they'd like.

Love Office but occasionally use alternatives
Like Paint
Neutral to VPC
Don't like just about everything else

Being a Mac user, most of their services are irrelevant to me anyways, and when I do boot into Windows, I always find myself wanting alternatives. Photoshop/GIMP to Paint. VLC and the OS X version of Quicktime to WMP. iChat to Messenger (the Mac version of it is worse...). iMovie 6 to Movie Maker. iPhoto/Aperture to Photo Gallery. Really, Office is their only suite of apps that I use regularly, and that's because their Mac versions are actually fantastic compared to the other Mac programs that they have.

Don't really like MS Office but it is better than most of it's counterparts...
The old MS Paint (without the ribbon and stuff)
Windows Media Player 12
And the BEST piece of software: Microsoft Visual Studio. The best programming IDE and the easiest debugger out there

I absolutely hate Windows, Internet Explorer, Virtual PC with a passion.

I do seem to like Windows Live Messenger

I'm personally not a fan of Visual Studio. I prefer to do coding without being bogged down by an overbearing IDE. Though IntelliSense is pretty sweet. I prefer Notepad++, though. If I had to choose a heavyweight IDE, I'd go with Eclipse; I really like being able to configure how whitespace and such is added.

Messenger is the only IM program I really use.
I prefer Works over Office.
Paint is nice for pixel art with its 1x1 grid, but apart from that has little use to me.
Internet Explorer is... not bad, not good. It works and there's not much more I'd want to ask.
Media Player... well now that VLC is in its 1. versions, is redundant.

It'd make enough sense to call Live Messenger my favourite since I use it the most.

Same here. I've actually never used any other Document making software. Also to Cassino, I just use Codecs for WMP then using VLC, especially due to VLC's size.
