Actually it's favoritism towards Black... In black version Zekrom flies around with that thunder cloud. Also the 8th Gym Leader in black is the old man & some other details I saw in the episodes...

See I haven't been recent with my Pokemon news so I only the other half.
Anyways....
  • Cool intro. Liked the 3d.
    Zekrom already is shown?
Why does everyone sounds smexier in Japanese anime?
OH CRAP HOW DID DELIA GET HERE.
    Lol, fail at the bush.
AK47, add me to the Iris club.
    Iris + Pikachu = SO KAWAII~
My god, Team Rocket are actually somewhat competent in this episode
Why does every region Ash and Pikachu suddenly become n00bs?
OH OF COURSE ASH GETS THE BIRD
    Suddenly Wotter.
At least they escaped without a blowout.
    New joy is new.

Overally, I'd say the anime took a (somewhat) step in the ride step.
8/10

So Mijumaru stalks Satoshi.
Goes out and saves him awesomely.
But doesn't get noticed at ALL?
:/

Anyway, I like how Satoshi actually knows NOTHING about the Pokemon in this region and has to ask Iris about them. THEN Iris teasing him as being a child was funny, and even when she thanked him, she still implied that he's a total kid XD
And the 3-D opening thing was awesome. I couldn't see some Pokemon turning to colour, so I guess they become coloured when you see them in the anime, maybe?

I still don't like Tsutaaja's man-voice. It's supposed to sound cute, not manly. Ew.

I think someone forgot to tell the writers that this is supposed to be fresh and new. What part of this exactly was fresh and new (apart from Iris)? If they had actually wanted to put some effort in, they could've had the cut scene from the start of the BW games (just like the start of Indigo did) and then make a transition somehow from N to Ash. Ash at least can show more expression with his new eyes

- A new soundtrack :D
- The random writing in the background is looking more and more like Japanese..
- Ah, Ash's eyes are looking *much* better
- It's always funny to see a car in Pokemon
- New Rocket "R" design? o.O
- Obligatory Sakaki at the start of the series...he probably won't appear again D:
- The random text is looking so much likemJapanese it may as well be Japanese
- Oak's eyes are the same
- Oooh, new title card
- Oooh, wonder what the card's about
- Oh yeah, TR are going to have a new motto, I bet :O
- Obligitory legendary in first ep...
- This part in the jeep reminds me of the first ep of AG...
- Oooh, like that eye catch
- New Pokemon Centre theme XD
- Ohhh, Shooti's a photograph! That explains the name XD
- But eww, he's so ugly D: He better not be N's replacement
- LOL Tsujaa's voice is WAY manlier than I expected XD
- So Shooti is supposed to be a Shinji/Snap crossover?
- If Satoshi looses this battle with Pikachu, or has some sort of trouble with this starting trainer, this is just...
- Shinji Miyazaki likes the guitar this time around
- OK, so Pikachu is worn out somehow...at least there's an excuse this time...*sigh*
- Overload of electricty again? -__-
- OK Satoshi is definatly getting that Mijimaru

Ep 2

- Haha, Ash's face after he got hit with Volt Tackle was funny
- Wow, Oak looks like he's gotten fat
- Haha, Ash's face at the PokeDex
- Well, Iris is looking like she has more personality than Dawn
- lol, the evolving music?? XD
- Ash knows he shouldn't just throw it >_<
- "Ash has made a wider variety of faces? in this single episode than he has in the entire series."
- Ash goes to catch the bir Pokemon *sigh*
- lol at the birds coming for Ash...but didn't this happen with Tailow, too? -_-
- Hahah, the capture theme, too XD
- WHOA Ash's jumping XD
- I knew they were still called Joy

Some brilliant episodes they are on par with some of the episodes in Kanto/Johto. Definitely a good start with the saga.
Only one thing annoyed me, and that was the fact that it seemed that Ash had forgotten how to catch a Pokemon, I understand It's a new saga, it gets reset every time, and they're trying to 'teach' new viewers how to catch Pokemon. It's all part of the novelty, but still, it irked me. I loved how Mijumaru started to stalk Ash, and I'm I find myself shocked to find that I'm looking forward to episode 3, something that didn't happen in the last saga.

Ash has eyes!!! aaaaaaaaahh <333

Iris. What can I say? She's the perfect sidekick for Ash, seems much more 'buff' and suitable for venturing on a journey. And I like how they've skipped the whole "new-female-character-that-doesn't-have-a-clue-what-they're-doing-until-half-way-through-the-series" pattern.

The whole Zekrom thing was very good, It was a nice way to kick off the series, and made it much more enjoyable/dramatic. I just hope that the rest of the series can live up to this. I found it slightly annoying that Tsutaaja beat Pikachu, but I bit my tongue and remembered that BW is a fresh start.

Ash caught a Mamepato. I would have never ever guessed that, seriously. And in the next episode it would seem that he'll catch Mijumaru. That already means that half of his team has already been decided, I'm kind of hopeful, that Ash will catch a few more Pokemon, and actually make progress with his pokedex.

TEAM ROCKET HELL YES! They seem a lot more bad ass. Smoke bombs from James? Meowth battles and doesn't end up landing on his butt? An episode where they don't blast off? I love it. I'm kind of hesitant though, in the first couple of episodes in the first, original series TR were actual criminals, but it didn't take long until they were seen as simple comedy characters. I found it insulting at times in D/P watching an incompetent TR. I look forward to seeing Giovanni's involvement in the anime and his new female secretary. Also, Koromori <33\

The opening was good, much better than the Sinnoh openings which seem to get worse as they go along. I like how the opening only reveals the silhouettes when we've seen the Pokemon in an episode prior. I hope the dub doesn't ruin it.

As for the graphics and music, they too have got a nice little boost. They seemed almost movie-like. The music in particular reminded me of some of the movie soundtracks. The detail on Iron Tail was a nice touch. I have high hopes of the movies if this is what the regular anime sounds/looks like.

Overall, very good 2 episodes, although they have set a rather high standard that I feel following episodes might not be able to live up to.
I'm also hoping that they don't ruin the dub.

I caught part of BW001 and all of BW002 the other day.

One of the first things I noticed was how Ash's irises got bigger (didn't notice it with the other characters).
Why do they always make Ash lose like this?
Iris sounded a little young given her appearance, but I managed to get used to it by the time Team Rocket showed up.
Really weird how Ash and Iris almost completely ignored Mijumaru saving their Pokémon. I sincerely hope that it will get noticed and become a team member.

Unfortunately, I didn't understand most of what the characters were saying, so I'll probably have a better idea about this episode when the dub comes out or when someone does a fansub of it...

The first episode was pretty interesting. But seriously? How is Ash STILL 10?! I don't get how he can go through all 4 regions in less than a year. T_T ANYWAYS, Team Rocket looks more serious this time, but they really need to give up on Pikachu... it's getting old. I actually like how they introduced Zekrom on the very first episode (Zekrom is awesome, fool <3). And I guess that helps understand the fact that Pikachu "magically" becomes weak again after every region.

Seeing this also made me adore the starters even more~ Pokabu was absolutely adorable, as well as Mijumaru. And was I the only one who found it HILARIOUS when it made that expression after not being chosen by Shooti? XD But Tsutaja.... omfg, what's with its VOICE? It sounds like a human man! I have to admit, I laughed a lot when I first heard it. XB But I'm sure the female Tsutaja (Ash is gonna catch it, right?) will do it some justice.

The second episode was actually... really funny to me. O_o I can't remember the last time Pokemon actually made me laugh (besides when I would be making fun of how stupid it was x3). Iris was great, and I LOVED Ash's face when he tried throwing a Pokeball at her. XDD

But something that REALLY annoys me is how Ash simply throws a Pokeball at the Shikijika, expecting it to be captured without even battling it. I mean REALLY? You've been through this for 4 generations now!! I find that kinda stupid how he completely forgets the basics of Pokemon after all these years. T_T

And Mijumaru stalking Ash was SO cute~ Kinda pathetic how it was completely ignored after it saved both Pikachu and Kibago from Team Rocket (CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT THEY ACTUALLY ESCAPED?). I'm actually kinda liking this new series. :3 Usually, I'd just watch the first few episodes and be done with it. But I'm sure the show will be destroyed once it comes into America. With that terrible voice acting. D:,

Sadly enough, Ash doesn't age. XD

Just as I thought. I wonder why Ash always tries to do the same with the first 'wild' Pokemon he encounters.

Best Wishes started on with an interesting note. Zekrom in the first episode itself. Legendary Pokemon are rather cool. I have started to like Team Rocket's new outfit. Hiiro was right, they look better in the anime.
And all those starter Pokemon, they were all so cute, especially Tsutaja and Mijumaru. I liked the way Mijumaru reacts when Shooti chooses Tsutaja as his Pokemon. Tsutaja voice is so deep! That actually sounds bad. And wait, Shooti loves Pokemon photography or something?
The battle between Tsutaja and Pikachu was nice and engaging even though it was short as Pikachu couldn't use his electric type moves. And I can't remember what happened next. X_X

In the second part, Ash catches a Mamepato. At first I thought that Mamepato was a weak Pokemon but when it broke free out of its Pokeball and used some rather strong moves against Pikachu, I realised that it was quite a tough Pokemon. Never underestimate bird power! XD
And then, the same old Team Rocket again. No wait, they have changed quite a lot. Where is Jessie get that Koromori from? They should have shown a short cameo of that at least. Mijumaru to the rescue!! And that Pokemon is a stalker as well. lol But still, it is strong enough to get Team Rocket blasting off. No wait, no more of blasting off. I wonder what would have happened if Mijumaru wasn't there at that moment. It seems as if Ash will catch that Pokemon. Good for Ash!

This special air was quite a nice one. I enjoyed every bit of it.

Huh? Zekroam is Pokemon White Version mascot even though he is black in colour. And if I recall correctly Zekroam doesn't appear in Pokemon Black version.

I still need to do these reviews.

So the Best Wishes started off finally in an one-hour special episode, and I gotta say that I was impressed. Much in contrary to DP where Dawn got all the attention to herself, Iris was put on the side and focused more in the second episode which was a bit refreshing, but annoying as well.

BW001:
This episode managed to pack so many things into 20 minutes. The super awesome Zekrom appearance and small foreshadowing by Iris's curiosity, we met prof. Araragi, Ash's arrogant and classy rival Shooty as well as many great segments regarding new Pokémon of Isshu. This episode also marks the start of a new and improved TR which I gladly approve. :D In terms of pacing, this episode managed it all well and I'm not even disappointed about the Pikachu's loss. He was practically toasted by Zekrom which was actually a great excuse, putting aside all those silly TR ambushes from the past.

Shooty proved to be vastly different from Paul, he's very smug and thinks he knows it all. Camera was a nice touch as well, I have a feeling we might see some of those pictures later on. (:

Oh and, Mijumaru is freaking adorable!

BW002:
IRIS! Hello gal! Well, she's not as wild as I expected, but hey! She's good enough for me. The fact that she's interested in Zekrom makes me curious as well, though I do wish we had actually seen Kibago battle in that episode. Mijumaru keeps stalking Ash which eventually saves Ash's and Iris's buts, lucky them! <_<

Can anyone tell me why is Ash such a newbie again? :/ I get it, he's excited, it's a whole new world ... BLABLABLA, but to forget to weaken a Pokémon before catching it, that just doesn't sound like him. Or maybe, it does?

I can't say I'm sad, because I'm thrilled that Jessie and James get an all new team. XD Koromori fits to Jessie and I'm curious seeing what else in store does Tomioka have for them. Giovanni seems intriguing as well, who knows what are his plans?

Overall, great start to a new saga! For the first time after four years, Team Rocket doesn't blast off anymore, the main girl isn't a coordinator yet again and Brock is no more! (no offense to the fans) Putting aside small things that annoyed such as lack of Iris's screntime and Kibago not doing anything - the writers handled these episode quite well! Keep it up, Tomioka!

I was wondering about that as well. Maybe it is just overconfidence.

He tried that before as well, like he threw a Pokeball at Iris, even though she isn't Pokemon, but he thought so. At least he should have tried using a move first. But I know the result would have been worse in the latter case. XD;

I merged your thread on Pikachu losing to Shooti's Tsutaja with its corresponding episode. Episode Discussion is for each episode, not individual questions on what occurred. Those can be asked with the episode it relates to or in the FAQ & Simple Help Thread over in the main Pokémon Anime board.

I actually agree though. I couldn't help but shake my head in disappointment after the writers made Pikachu lose to a starting Pokémon. It goes to show however, that the anime does not follow the LV. 5 rule as the games. Plus, Pikachu not being able to use its electrical moves came as a shock to Ash and itself. On the other hand, Pikachu did have other attacks. :\

I was thinking if it was a possibility that Pikachu being unable to use electric type moves came up as a big shock to both Pikachu and Ash, and they mentally lose confidence in themselves because of this and end up losing.
