Okay, so small update here:

Given some trouble with Essentials (okay, many problems with Essentials), I decided to try and use CNG's own kit for Pokémon Nightmare. If everything goes right, then I'll stick to it. That also means that I'm going to continue doing maps, but a demo can only be expected once and if the kit is usable for the effect and the porting was finished.

Meanwhile, I updated the main post's screenshots, since most of them had a shabby quality. Here they are as well:

this game looks awsome and all but i keep getting a game killing glich :\ everytime i battle an error message eventualy pops up and it shuts the game down >.<

First thing I will say is Thank you so much for cutting HM's. I'm sure many will be greatful. Haha, I love the idea of the story not being based around Gym badges, and I like the new Coliseum idea. Overall looks great! I'll be checking back on progress without a doubt.

Wow this look pretty awesome, I love the fakemon and story like, and the lack of HM's The maps are pretty good too, although I'm not blown away I will deffinatly being downloading your recent release to try out. Good work so far!

I know; because I haven't figured a way to correct it - among other issues with Essentials - I'm going to switch over to CNG's kit.

Eheh, glad those things are getting a good reception; they're some of the highlights I wanted for the game.

Yeah, not sure, unfortunately; I'm waiting for some updates on CNG's kit before porting the game - hopefully, it will be fully functional afterwards.
At any rate, I suggest trying the second-to-last release meanwhile, since the only difference between them is graphic-wise.

As I mentioned, the game seems to work fine for some, and not work at all for other.s Apparently, setting the Compatibility to Windows 98 could solve the problem in the most recent demo.

Small update, to commemorate the finishing of Sitia Port (here: http://donlawride.deviantart.com/#/d3iw1u3). I'll add three more screenshots to the pile.

LoZ players should fear the second one. :3

Wow, Sitia Port looks pretty cool. Looks like there's a lot to do there.
I have to admit, the 'You've met with a terrible individual, haven't you?' reminds me of that one Majora's Mask video... haha. And talking Slowking? That brings back memories of the second Pokémon movie I saw as a kid... Keep it up; it looks good thus far.

This is a 'test trailer' on sidescrolling in Nightmare. All details should be in the video.

About the applications, I'm not planning on using it all the time, nor close; this is one such case, an enemy base, where I think you'll like the exploration part.

The overworlds are done by Salimus on deviantArt. The rest of the graphics, excluding some sets of tiles, are public resources.

Yup, it's Harvest Moon!

Unfortunately, I'm still working on it. I'll say as soon as I manage to fix it. :/

For now, I can only show some things I've been working on:

This is the Sitia Museum of Science; aside from the usual fossil revival, you'll also be able to get some maps to explore the desert, and get to know several secrets and tips to solve the puzzles within that arid region.

Hello, and, again, welcome to the PBC!

PBC stands for Pokémon Battling Committee; in short, this is the company that organizes tournaments in the Pokémon World, and as such, organized the tournament in Orthan (in association with Time Co., led by Mr. Eldes).

You should know the tournament by now, but I'll say it anyways; the championship is comprised of two challenges; participating trainers can choose to defeat all eight Gym Leaders, or all five Colosseums, or a combination of both (for instance, five badges and two colosseums), culminating in the Elite Four battle.

In case you're wondering, you do hear what I said in the beginning, just to make sure you'll get the reference when you enter this building. :3

Lastly, I'm putting this up here in the same way I put it up on dA and other places, as a way of allowing people to participate as well.


In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, there was a Pre-Gym in Phenac City for trainers to attend a kind of Gym prototype.

Pokémon Nightmare being a kind of sequel to it, we'll have a different kind of thing.

The name is still Pre-Gym, but this time, they belong to Gym Leaders who couldn't enter the Mega League, and as such, were left behind. Their Gyms still exist, however.

That's where you come in. I'm accepting Pre-Gym Leader applications.

Once again, you'll need to fill out a simple application form:

Trainer Name:
Gym Type:
One/Two Sentences for meeting eyes:
One Sentence for defeat:
One/Two Sentences for speaking after being defeated:
Pokémon in the Team and their Level:


You can also make profiles for the trainers in the gym.

There's only one Pre-Gym right now, which is in Costa City. It's a Dragon Type Gym, so you know you're bound to have freedom in types!

For some reason i think the first map reminds of the hoenn contest trophy/statue hall
but i like it :3
and idk of we are gonna meet prof oak, but in the 2nd map i see him. spoiler maybe? :D

And yup, it's Oak; most characters appear in the game, even if it's just as cameos. Very spoiler-ish. :3
