[RM2K3] Pokémon Coal Version

Intro:
Right, some of you may know I'm currently making a hack ... Pokémon Doomed Time.
Progress has been slow with it. But I'm still working on it.
I have planned things out.
A week on this ... then a week on that and so on, so forth!

Story:
Welcome to the Altom Region. Out region here is so big it has two Pokémon league Challenges [Scarlet Hill and Sky Mountain].
Many years ago ... miners tunnelled underground the more they digged the more power the region was given ... electircally, of course.
One day day the miners got so far underground they found a fossil. A fossil of many mysteries. It was ... Mew's Fossil.
The amount of trouble this fossil caused, it was sent of to be auctioned on who will own the fossil and the mines were closed off.
To prevent more fossils being found. At this time whIte.Corp had develloped machines to create electric, and power the whole region.
... ... ...
It's been 5 years since the fossil was put up for auction.
And finally it was given to Professor Elm of Clunda Town due to the Educational Pokémon Professer Rights.
Many of the rich auctioners are mad about this but it seemed the best thing to do.
They would all do whatever it takes to get their hands on Mew, for Mew could keep the region in total balance or destroy it completely.

It's now that time of year for ten year olds to recieve their first pokémon and journey throught the region of Altom.
Since the region is so big it does have two League Challenges the Scarlet Hill Challenge and the Sky Mountain Challenge.
The region is also split into two parts, they don't have particular names, but the region is two parted.

Professor Elm calls Gold up to help him with a errand. To raise a Pokémon and explore the region, but a weird guy lurks outside the Lab.
Strangely this man is here when Mew's fossil has been revived.

... Will the region be safe with mew revived or ... are we all doomed?

And also, the DS music, sounds good! (I mean it sounds good to hear that a GBC hack has DS music )

and it's gym. The Gym is completely underground and looks identical to the City. So ... you may have guess the leader is rock type

I like the look of the screenshots but the font looks really weird / deformed in certain places as some letters appear to be 'sticking together' -- if you get what I mean? It makes it difficult to read.

Because I use a netbook which has a smaller screen. It appears like that but shouldn't on Pc's or Laptops which most people own ... i should think?

The text... The only bad thing at this game is the font.
The screen that is about the gym leader wanna say: Well, good for you is bad.

The font is the result of my Netbook. Not the actual text selected.

And ... ? 'Good for you is bad' ... I don't understand.

Hey, i was wondering what you were up to!


storyline sounds pretty interesting,

Fonts: download these http://www.mediafire.com/?ozmtejm4jyt
and paste it into c:/windows/fonts folder.

That should fix the fonts. I think vista and win7 come preinstalled with them.


also, some of the paths clash quite with the ground. you should make the dirt path a little bit lighter, the dark brown makes it look like wet mud. (maybe use the same brown as the mountain tiles?)

lastly, you can press F5 (or was it F4) to shrink the screen to real size. useful if you want to take a buttload of screenshots without taking up as much space.

I'll try that font thing in a minute.
But as for the path, It's suppose to look like mud. Most small/under developed towns will have them.

I meant when the gym leader says "Good for you", it's horibbly corrupted.

Good for you ... It's when someone sarcastically makes you think you have done well.

Okayy, No update as of today.
But I've finished my college year so I have alot of free time for the game and my hack :3
Also ... Today I have been just finishing NPC events. (most important thing).

Yay! :D
Screen 1 : You need the drill (replaces rocksmash) to go through route 3.
Screen 2 & 3 : Edited Pulse Creek. Part of it is a forest instead of a mountain.
Screen 4: Team Porple are in the cave. They need a Ass'whoppin.

I made Pulse Cave a brighter colour and it has to floors in one map ;D
2nd floor for later in game ;D

I restarted the game and made my own tileset instead of someone elses i found on charasproject.net

Maps look better, more cleaner. (the tileset I made right?)
Interesting to see you're recolouring the main character; does make him stand out a bit more.

also, how is catching pokemon handled in this?

And as of now ... I'm not sure
I need a good original idea.

and as for the main character being blue.
It was merely me being jealous of kris from crystal having a blue pallette.
But yeah ... urr standing out ftw ;D
