Eyes of the Ghost
Spoiler:
The rain ran down the glass
His eyes stared blankly ahead
Seeing nothing, saying nothing
He watches the one he loved
Yet she notices him not
Seeing no one, knowing no one

He screams at the stars above
Why can't she feel him there
They see no one, so they see nothing

He hides his face from the world
He hides the tears that he cries
He hides the scars that he wears
So they see nothing

He roles the die and hopes for good chance
While he knows that chance is never good
Still he waits, still he hopes for the time
When he can leave this ghostly life

Well, at least some people read it, or accidentaly click on it. I thought I might post two of my other poems here. I don't think they're better than the one above, but here they are anyway.
This Me
Spoiler:
Hate I feel not
Nor joy, sorrow
Only this nonexistance
Your love is all
I ever wanted
I lose that which matters most
You turn away
I betray you
With this me that I am not

Heart defeated
Sanity gone
Now we walk
Alone, forever

I still love you
Though you say don't
And if I find peace
I never forget

And another one...

Sunset Morning
Spoiler:
I awaken
To this dark grey song
Waiting for you
To lighten the sky

Screaming with my pain
You wander alone
Wishing for the day
To take away fear
Haunting broken worlds
Burn the eyes of the weary
Loving those that hate
And the calm sea dies

The pale sky turns away
Your eyes give the night away
Bleak sadness, my anger
Bottled into the sunset's heart
Fighting several armies
When no one is there

And a cold voice sings
To my dying soul
A failing attempt
At destroying the empty

As I awaken
The sun hides its face
Not out of fear,
But of its burden's hatred
Yet as I sleep
The sun whispers
"Never the end"

The Face That Isn't There
Spoiler:
I stare into empty spaces
Not knowing what I seek
So I cannot find it

I walk on paths that don't exist
I hear loud voices whisper
I see the face that isn't there
I wish for all the nothing
I feel your touch when you're not there
I taste the freezing rain
I look for that I cannot see
I breathe the poison air

Alone I feel my heart ache
It gives me no rest
A dagger thru black hearts
And my severed mind

I literally just just wrote this one. I didn't give it a name, 'cuz I couldn't think of one. I may give it one someday tho.
EDIT: I just gave it a name. Just kinda picked a line and used it for the title.

Here are two more new ones. Don't worry, the names are included free of charge.

Fade
Spoiler:
Dark clouds
blistering hail
Strikes blows of cold hatred
Lost souls
Wanderes
Of long paths now dead
Blood stains
Laughing worlds
As we die for them

Fade away, lost heart
Cry tears of pain no more
The world turns, rain falls
On hopelessness, our friend

Run on
Through the snow
Always wish for sunlight
Fear not
Broken bones
The pain will someday fade
Dark winds
Ever-present
Laughing at our despair

Fade away, lost heart
Cry tears of pain no more
The world turns, rain falls
Bleak memory of what was

In the Garden of the Burning Rose
Spoiler:
Alone, gone

Mountains gaze from afar
Seeing all the strife
All the light
Yet bringing a shadow
Trees fall in the wood
Hurting, among others
Wishing to stand
And they are ignored

Silently, I stare
Watching as the rose
Wilts and burns away
A traitor, lost in the end
Outside, the war
Fights violently and sick
Fathers die, brothers sigh
Like the war, a burning rose

Alone, gone

Get ready... there's quite a few poems this time. I like each of these a lot, and some of them rank among my favorite poems that I wrote.

Parting Gift
Spoiler:
I give to you know
The gift, wings to set you free
Though I may grieve
I shall never see
Your face, the light in your eyes
My soul cries out

You leave
Not out of betrayal
But of your empty heart
That longs for the home you have not
So I will weep, I will fall
But I will save you from this sadness
Take these wings
Use them to escape the dark
My heart may be torn
But I do what I must

Take my heart
This gift of our parting
Fly away, away
For the fufillment you seek
I stay here
The cast-off burden
Farewell, beloved one
Only silence I speak

Parting Gift has less structure than anything else I have ever written. I wrote purly from the heart on this one, and I've never changed the original.

Parting Gift II
Spoiler:
Words on a burning sheet of paper
A message to bring some hope
Unnatural seeds of sadness
She sheds tears for her lost home
Despairing she screams at the sky
A pathway back to her life
I silently watch the rainclouds
And see her face staring back

Lost without a home
In dying lands of pain
I fall heavily
Like frozen drops of rain

As darkened skies fade to nothing
The rainclouds unleash their wrath
And as the world drowns in evil
Arrogant, her demons laugh

Through the bleeding rain
She flies throughout the air
Safe, yet still she weeps
To wish away the pain

Parting Gift II is, indeed, the sequel to Parting Gift. I someday intend to create a third installment to the Parting Gift trilogy. I didn't want to merge the two existing ones into one poem, because I think that would mar the beauty of each poem a little.

K, this one is exceedingly dark, perhaps even more than Eyes of the Ghost or Fade. Just a warning.
The Voiceless Eve
Spoiler:
Alone, the daybreak watches
As the dim grey descends
Engulfing the world in darkness
Indifferent to the end
Falling, the unfortunate fate
A dark and endless death
Hungering for the void
Awaiting the voiceless dread

They try to scream
But they choke on their despair
The ageing eve
Lost the light that gave it strength
A tearful seed
Sheds its final tears for them

I wish I had more to say for this one, but this is just one I don't feel has a lot. I kinda forced this one, but its easily the best one I've ever forced. (I usually don't finish the ones I've forced.)

Sunderance
Spoiler:
The night whispers
As the sun creeps away
Lullabies for the sick
Medicine for the broken
I can't see you
But a faded silhouette
Beckons me to its side
Hungering for my pain

As broken giants feel the dark
Slipping in inside their hearts
Demons cry and angels sing
And the nothing becomes everything

My shortest poem, I think. I don't have a lot for this one either. This one wasn't forced, but it wasn't really all that heartfelt.

Well that's it! I've finally put up all my good poems that aren't about suicide! You've read my best works.

So far.

I'm not really in the mood to criticize poetry or anything at the moment, but I bothered myself to review this first poem of yours. The others, maybe later when I have more time.

First off, a spelling error.

I believe 'roles' is supposed to be 'rolls'.

Anyways, by any chances is this poem supposed to be a song too? It certainly does give me that same aura that song lyrics gives me.

I can see that this is also a freeverse poem, correct? I do like poem itself, however something seems to irk me when I read it. It's like the flow isn't that great. And rhythm weren't all that noticeable. I do like the message though.

All in all, a good poem. I do look forward to reading the other ones soon.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll fix the spelling right away. Yeah almost all of my poems were originally designed to be songs, but only one of any of my songs were ever selected to be turned into a full length song, which I have yet to record. Yes, it is freeverse. As far as rythym and flow go, I'm still not really skilled them it yet. I started writing poetry not too long ago, and I've never really figured out rythym or flow. I usually just wing it on my poems. Eyes of the Ghost is an earlier poem for me, so I was definitley less experienced when I wrote it. Anyways, thanks again!

It's time for new poetry! YAY!
Anyways, these are two new poems I wrote. Each of these are a little... diferent then the others in terms of style. Especially The Willow.
So, without further ado... my new poems.
Candlelight Breath
Spoiler:
A sudden gust of wind
Tears the paper from my hand
And I rush to find them
They land in the flames
I watch them burning
The final words you gave to me
Now I am left with nothing
The smallest flame takes away from me

Rage for the hour
Mourn remaining days
Candlelight, hated sight
I see your face no more

I wish away the sunlight
I turn away from night
I watch in empty silence
As flames engulf the world

The Willow Tree
Spoiler:
Leaves like teardrops
Reaching for the earth
Bound in one place
Watching life pass quickly by

A dawn, sky painted,
Waiting for the sun
To give away its generous light
To this unthankful tree

Freedom restricted by the earth
Sky waiting for rebirth
When lonely tidings come to pass
The willow withers away at last

When I wrote these, it had been a good long break from writing for me. In fact, I beleive In the Garden of the Burning Rose was the last one before The Willow Tree. When I finally picked up a pen again, I noticed my writing style had changed. Probably something to do with my overall mood lately. Things have been going strangely well, and I don't have the bleak despair that I used to write all the other poems here now. I guess you could call these sad still, but they're not the same as anything else here.

So, I wrote this one last night. There's a lot I want to say about this one, but if I tried, I'd probably just end up sounding dumb. So I'll just let you guys read it.
A Phantom's Asylum
Spoiler:
The spoken word
I hear as I fall
The rain on my face
Washes away my tears
I close my eyes
As my soul cries out
Her eyes I don't see
And might never again

A broken hand
Rests on my shoulder
As night, falling,
Begins to surround me
And my heart
Screaming agony
Its voice is lost
In the waves of her tears

All through dark nights
As dim stars mock me
I see the hatred
Of both heaven and hell

Her ghost walks the earth
Alone in spirit, mind,
A shade in the grey
That should never have been
Her eyes scream in pain
As the asylum of night
Clouds her face from my sight
And leaves me to burn

A candle-burning flame
Ignites in my heart
Yet it fades all too soon
Like a star in the night
All I see is you
And I feel the alone

So, yeah...

Two new poems of mine. Well, one of them is kinda old, but I found it last week and revised it, so it counts as new.
Castle of Ruins
Spoiler:
Break the chains
Only to chain myself again
Stronger, unbearable
Each chain, a lie, false hope
Imprisoned by each
World I never saw
Only could hope for
Though I knew I would never find

As I watch the burning
I reach for the ashes
They fly further away
And deny me their warmth

Endless strife
The world takes our blows
We destroy the house we call home
Once a glorified kingdon
Its towers stood tall
Others still see it
But I only see ruins

In Loving Memory
Spoiler:
Far away
I hear the screams of those in fear
Death among them
As autum leaves fall again
The red blood
Masked by the many dying leaves
Awaken
And the dark demons return

Flowers
Fill the ocean with your tears
A sunken hope
To ever see you again
Freezing waves
Wash every red stain from the beach
I see you
In only loving memories

A blue cloud
Blocks the sunlight from your eyes
As islands
Slowly sink into the sea
Broken words
Fill the pages with black dust
A shadow
On this loving memory

It's been quite a long month, friends. Many friends are gone now, lost beneath the waves or taken away from the very heart that kept them alive. These last two weeks have been especially dark for me, but we've all gotta move on, right? I find that writing can ease the pain from all the recent deaths I've experienced.
I tribute this to those who's lives have been cut tragically short while still in high school or younger, and to their families, whom I am sure are finding this much harder to deal with than me.

With Wings of Lead
Spoiler:
I saw the ravens weeping
Out in the freezing rain
The wind blew dry their tearful eyes
But soon they wept again
They flew on through the rainstorm
But lightning struck them down
It turned their wings of feathers
To cold and heavy lead

The pages turned, the candle burned
I could see through the dark
But can birds with their wings of lead
See any more than me?

Across the flowing meadow
A songbird found the earth
A whispered cry, yet still its eye
Stayed dry throughout the rain
Rain mixed the blood with ground, its heart
Beat violently at first
But winter's cold and lifeless touch
Brought death to the birds life

The pages turned, the candle burned
I could see through the dark
But can birds with their wings of lead
See any more than me?

Some more poems of mine.

Breath of Fire (The Chess Piece)
Spoiler:
This road leads nowhere
Still I wander on
Only to find myself
In a dead and wilted world
May this barren land
Decide my fate
The gray trees stand cold
As the dark night falls

This night gives me shelter
In return for precious life
The sky turns its cold eye
On me
Disease spreads through my mind
While night sucks away life
Warm me with your breath
Of fire

This road leads nowhere
Still I wander on
The chess piece falls

You know, I'm not sure how obvious this is for my readers, but a few of these poems, bleak as they may be, are actually love poems. The two Parting Gifts, Candlelight Breath, In Loving Memory, and now Breath of Fire are all despairing love notes. Actually, so is this next one..,

O Sweet Tormentor
Spoiler:
O sweet Tormentor
Mock me once again
O dear friends of mine
Show me love the only way you can
O beloved one
Stab me in the back
O sweet Tormentor
Bring me pain every way you can

Show me love
And bring me pain
Friends of lies
And Tormentor

O cruel liberty
Imprison my soul again
O sweet Tormentor
Shield me from the lies I tell

Show me love
And bring me pain
Friends of lies
O Tormentor

O dark shadows' calm
Protect me from the world
O sweet bitterness
Take my soul for the life you give
Accursed blazing stars
Tear the night from me
O sour, mocking Sun
Torment my heart for all eternity

I've always been reluctant to post O Sweet Tormentor. I wrote it at the same time I wrote Eyes of the Ghost, and (since I do imagine my poems as people and individuals) O Sweet Tormentor has forever been Eyes of the Ghost's brother. However, I thought O Sweet was far too emotional and depressing to show anybody, so even though it is a love poem, I've never once shown it to anyone (especially not to the poem's subject. In fact I don't think that the poem's subject has ever read any of these).

I wrote a new poem today. Well, it's not a poem. More of a song, really. It went in a totally different direction than I had planned, but this ended up better. It'll be posted in parts, making it my longest continuous poem ever. This here is Part 1 - Realization. Never mind the sorta cheesy name.

Part 1 - Realization

Spoiler:

Spiraling downwards
We scream as we fall
Not knowing what lies far beneath
Like statues of faces
Long frozen in fear
Our voices ache from longing

How do I know when I can stop?
Like giving in without the loss
How long wilI still have to scream?
How long will I not have to see
What darkness lies benath?

Eyes searching frantic
Suddenly I can't see
As faces fade from memory
My shadow is moving
As I stand so still
And now I see what I've become

When can this aching someday end?
Must I go on without a friend?
Like dying, blissful memories
In sorrow, I don't want to see
What darkness lies beneath

Do mirrors laugh at what they show?
Does shattered glass fall down like snow?
How do I know if I'm asleep?
Is hatered slowly changing me?
The darkness lives in me

Here's Darkness Part 2: Angelic.

Spoiler:

Shrieking worlds spin slowly

Hill climb upwards towards the stars

While all the time stars float away farther

From reach

Angels cry, angels die

Angels rest their weary eyes

Words of love turn to doves

Fly away into the sun

Trees beyond your wildest dreams

Stand before our aching hearts

While all the the stars floath away farther

From sight

Angel song, prove them wrong

Show them the path that they have gone

Angel tears, angels dear

Fight away our strongest fears

Music play, end this day

They see the error of their ways

Towers fall, angels call

Bringing light unto us all

Man, it's been awhile since I've posted Darkness Part 2. Well, here's Part 3.

Darkness Part 3: Sanctuary
Spoiler:
The wailing cries of nightime's pain
Haunt our every thought
The burning lies of the brazen day
Can find us here

Behind these marbel walls
Terror screams but we can ignore it
Our pounding hearts can rest
We breathe again
Our sanctuary's halls

See now the faces of our love
Shrieking in pain
Here in this marble sanctuary
We turn our heads

The world is driven out
The darkness flees from this place in fear
Our trembling hands are still
Until the day
Our sanctuary falls

But when I see you
I know that these marbel walls are crumbled
You bring about the day
My fear, the dark
My sanctuary falls

Here's the final piece of my song Darkness.

Darkness Part 4: Dawn
Spoiler:
A swiftly moving shadow
Torturing my mind in reckless hatred
I turn away
The sunlight clouded by the darkness
Aching to be free from this painful curse

Hear the music flowing through the forest
Its words of ancient liberty
See the darkness turn its gaze away
It fears the song may make anew the dawn

I force myself to stop
Despite fear clawing at my breaking heart
And I cry out
I see your face crumbling in darkness
Only to rise from your smoldering ashes

I hear the crying of the angels
And their tears heal the broken soil
The darkness tries to bring its shadows
But is too late for dawn is almost hear

I walk free among the ashes
The piece of me that ached is burned away
I know those I loved are gone
But all does not depart inside my heart
