Name (First, Middle-optional and Last): Austin Louis Owens

Nickname (Optional): Aussie

Age (10-15): 15

Gender (Male or Female): Male

Dorm: Raikou Dorm

Appearance (A picture can be provided instead of a description if you so wish): http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs22/f/2007/311/d/0/d0f76ee2ec2ddcb9.jpg

Personality (How does your character act and react to others? Their mental state? Flaws and/or personal weaknesses?): Austin is a fun loving guy. He doesn't like doing nothing. Doing nothing is boring and boring is NOT fun. Entertainment should last throughout the day. Whoever thought up all work and no play was an obvious kill joy. Austin usually finds his fun through antics that include disobedience, relentless teasing, and the groove and soul of dance!

Signs or verbal warnings aren't enough to stop him from doing what he wants. In fact, the possibility of danger heightens the likeliness for him to disobey. Danger signs, bright yellow warning tape, and anything that says "Keep out" plainly translates to "COME EXPLORE". Why would they forbid you if there wasn't something cool over there? Exploration is the uncontrollable nature of man, why should a little ol' warning stop that? Besides, he wasn't scared of some little, bitty pokemon in the tall grass. He was better than that and he wasn't afraid of anything either! At least, that's what he'd want you to know.

Most of Austin's bravery comes from his sense of adventure. Going places, seeing new things, the thrill of discovery! He liked it all, even if the discovery was less exciting than a new piece of paper. However, his adventuring has its limits. Austin is perfectly petrified of ghost pokemon. He constantly tries to tell himself that being afraid of still alive dead guys was alright, but the embarrassment of the feeling keeps him from showing it to anyone. What was he even afraid for? They were just pokemon! A bunch of angry, vengeful dolls and chandeliers and microwaves and dead people and various entities that like the crying of children and the general pain and suffering of the living. No biggy! It was impossible to assure himself no matter how hard he tried. Just the thought of a ghost being somewhere near him, no matter how small or insignificant, give him nightmares. He also has the fear of being alone, or at least without his Ledian. He can be in a group of thousands, but without knowing that little girl is with him he can't stop from feeling afraid, nervous, or overall stressed. Separation can cause him to become viciously aggressive or agitated and he may become quick to violence.

Austin has his most fun while dancing. Getting with the groove is just about his most favorite thing. He can do any line dance you can think of. The Electric Slide, The Cha Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle, Wobble, even the Hockey Pokemon and he's not just limited to those. He can do his fair share of formal and informal dances. The quickest way to catch his interest is teaching him a new dance, real or made up, it doesn't matter, he'll learn it if you know it. And by golly, if he can dance, his pokemon can too.

Austin has the habit of making fun of others. To him it's foolhearty fun, but he doesn't have quite a grasp on how far is too far. Not a day goes by without him making a comment about somebody, and this become even more emphasized during battles. If you couldn't say he was good at battles, then you could easily mention he was good at taunting. He can go a whole match nonstop, sometimes getting so caught up in it that he forgets to command his pokemon and they make the decisions for attacks themselves. If you asked, he'd tell you it was one of his favorite parts of battling. Austin appreciates battling as a new challenge to see who he can beat and who he could try to beat. He's not the best of battlers, and he knows full well that he isn't. He doesn't do well, mostly because he has a hard time remembering the strategies he learned in class during a battle. Even a little skirmish can make him forget the basics of things, like what types are weak against what, or even what his pokemons' attacks even do! There have been times when he's even forgotten his pokemon's typing, but extremes like that only happen in his most exciting of battles. Instances like these even happen in the classroom. Austin is a terrible test taker and whenever he does he forgets everything he's learned no matter how many times they were repeated.Studying throughout the night has done no good to help him. This repetition of events has stopped him from even attempting to prepare for tests and even trying when he has to take them. The trend of all his classes is passing assignments and failing tests.

Austin has a slight streak of vanity. He always does his best to look as good as he knows he is, even if he can pull off anything without looking like less of a model. Preparing for his day takes about an hour at the least, most of that time being spent finding the right shirt-hat-shoe combo or fixing his hair. Most of these activities are trivial, since no matter how many shirts he gives up or goes back and forth with, he still changes his outfit every five hours or so. He wouldn't be late to class if he didn't take so much time to admire himself, the picture of perfection. He looked so good it was hard for him to stop staring! And what's even better? All genes, baby. One hundred percent Owens DNA. His cells were like Victoria's Secret models but to the manliest degree. Luckily for the general population, this is as far as his self-indulgence reaches.

It frustrates him to know how many kids went to this academy that were younger than him and yet able to stay in higher dorms because of their superior abilities. The feeling of incompetence is hard to keep down and his scornful attitude towards them causes him to, many times, make challenges to them for even the most trivial things. He takes these losses the hardest.

History (Where did your character grow up? Who did they grow up with? What have the been doing before this? Any noteworthy events? What brought them to the academy?): Austin lived in Floaroma town of the Sinnoh region with his mother and much older brother. He was born to a middle class family. His brother worked at the Poke Mart and his mother had a modest, but well paying job outside of the small town. Throughout his youngest years, Austin would eagerly listen to the stories his brother would tell him about adventures he'd dreamed to go on. He was more than old enough. At the time his brother was seventeen, most kids left home at ten. With his stories becoming more fanciful it didn't take long for his brother to finally leave for his adventure armed only with a simple Budew.

It would be years before he saw him again. During his brother's absence it was Austin's turn to learn to be the man of the house, which he didn't do very well. When he wasn't at school or with friends he was ditching his chores and running off to find his own mini adventures in the town around them. His mother never approved, but Austin didn't care. On several occasions he would sneak into the next town to watch aspiring trainers battle for Gerdenia's gym badge. From watching these battles he learned a few things about battling, types, and the differences of pokemon.

When he was twelve, Austin was reunited with his brother who had left six years prior. His brother had come back with more than just a Budew. In his seven years he'd managed to get a fully fleshed Roserade, Floatzel, Skuntank, and Pachirisu. He'd even come back with two shiny gym badges. It didn't take long for the adventure stories to begin. Every day Austin heard the tale of one of his brothers many adventures and laughed at his countless flukes. After the stories were all said and done, Austin's brother presented him with a present, his very first pokemon! It was a Ledyba, the newest catch and just for Austin. He was given time to give his new friend a name, but unfortunately he couldn't think of one and decided to find a name later. The name would never come. Between school and is brother's work, Austin learned how to care for and train his own pokemon.

At thirteen his Ledyba had evolved into a Ledian and Austin was confident that he could begin attempting catching his own pokemon, his brother agreed. It was during a rid down to what his brother claimed to be the ideal spot to look for a nice pokemon that their tragedy arose. During the ride they were hit by another car, throwing them both into a powerful accident. Thanks to Ledian's quick reaction, Austin came out with serious, but luckily nonfatal wounds. His brother was not quite as lucky. He had died before emergency vehicles could take him to the hospital. The impact had done serious damage to the Pokeballs he was carrying. Each one had broke and a malfunction stopped the balls from ever releasing the pokemon inside. Austin's brother was later buried with the inoperable Pokeballs.

During the time of healing Austin became more and more reluctant to let Ledian leave his side, afraid that he would lose her too. Besides the Pokeball she came in, which no longer worked, she was the only real reminder he had of his brother whom he had always looked up to. As time went on his sadness turned into anger. One of his bursts of frustration he made Ledian attack a Chatot that had been perched on their rooftop. At the time he thought the singing was annoying. Ledian was able to defeat the Chatot as asked. Austin would have left it if his mother hadn't caught him in the act and gave him the position to cure the Chatot back to health. Austin was predictably objective, but his mother had insisted and he was stuck with the job. In his time with the pokemon he grew attached and decided to keep Chatot in the end.

As anger subsided Austin's thirst for adventure peaked once more, but this time with new fervor. He was more determined than ever to go on his own journey, just as his brother had. More and more often he'd sneak away from home and school to tromp around the woods or to explore other cities and towns. The more and more he left the more adamant he was to convince his mother to let him go off by himself. Each time she refused the more rebellious he became. It had become so much that eventually he had decided to leave on his own, without his mother's permission. Once again skipping school he left within the day, going as far as he could away from his home in Floaroma. It took him a day and a half to reach Hearthrome.

While on his way out of Hearthrome he came across a cardboard box. In large red letters it had said "FREE TO ANYONE". A single pokeball sat inside the box. He considered leaving it there, not sure if he was interested in a pokemon that someone clearly no longer wanted. It was at that time that a police patrol came by and recognized him immediately as a recently reported runaway. The approach by the authorities made him quicken his decision and with hardly and extra thought he grabbed the pokeball and stuffed it into the pocket of his jacket. It didn't take long for the authorities to take him back to his home in Floaroma. The welcome home reception from his mom along with a lecture about safety from police left him sour in the mouth. That same night he found out that the pokemon in the ball was a Mime Jr.

It was about four days later that his mother came to him with the information about the academy. She had done it only to stop him from running off again. Austin was elated! The start of his adventure! It was just one admission test away...

Pokémon (Maximum of 3. No legendaries, 'shiny' or stage 3 pokémon. Oddly colored but not specifically 'shiny' pokemon are allowed, however.):
Species: Ledian
Nickname(Optional): None
Personality (Can be as short or long as you want, but cannot be excessively vague): Ledian is the guardian. She never leaves Austin's side if she can help it and all in the name of his protection. She had taken it upon herself to see to it that he was never hurt and does her job well. Even as a pokemon, she tries to keep Austin on the right path either through encouragement or by keeping him on a straight path of good morals. It's sometimes hard to get through to him, but she manages in the end. This same habit applies to all the pokemon in their small team and any of those that are close friends of Austin.

Ledian never quits and fights to her hardest abilities.

Lvl(Max 20): 20
Moves(Maximum of 6. TMs and egg moves are allowed): Drain Punch, Mach Punch, Light Screen, Bug Buzz, Supersonic

Species: Chatot
Nickname(Optional): Chatty
Personality (Can be as short or long as you want, but cannot be excessively vague): Chatot is very quirky. He does not show his odds and ends at all times. In fact, most of the time his little oddities can't be seen. In his normal time Chatot is quiet and observant, mainly because he takes the time to learn new words as he loves using them when he can. Chatot collects very specific pebbles. Each small rock doesn't seem to have any correlation to each other and yet the bird pokemon still finds the differences. He hides each of these particular rocks within Austin's dorm room. Always at the same time every day Chatot begins to sing. If he's released from his pokeball during this time you would find him singing in the middle of his song. He always perches on Austin's left shoulder or on his hat, more specifically the brim--if he's not shooed off that is.

Chatty knows three words. No, stop, and why.

Lvl(Max 20): 13
Moves(Maximum of 6. TMs and egg moves are allowed): Peck, Growl, Mirror Move, Sing, Night Shade, Sleep Talk

Species: Mime Jr.
Nickname(Optional): Junior, Mimey, or Mime
Personality (Can be as short or long as you want, but cannot be excessively vague): Junior is very energetic. He always wants to do something all the time. If he's not mimicking he's dancing around in place on a table or some sort. Just like a mime, he loves to copy. He most often copies Austin but will gladly switch instantly between him and someone else. Junior's feelings are easily hurt. It doesn't take much to offend or sadden the small, pink pokemon.

Mime Jr. has the tendency to steal.

Lvl(Max 20): 15
Moves(Maximum of 6. TMs and egg moves are allowed):
Confusion, Barrier, DoubleSlap, Encor, Tickle, Copycat

Uh... It said there was spots open still, so I gave it to go! I hope this is okay! >.< I'm not good at bios.

Currently writer-blocked as to what Jonah should do next. He taught his class, he ran to the infirmary and is waiting for Vincent to get discharged...but this RP just moves too fast and everyone's doing their own thing in their own time frame. (There's a reason I alluded to Jonah feeling as such in one of his earlier posts.)

Marin, now you know why I don't like sandbox plots.

The plot is not sandbox. Oh boy no. Sanbox plots are not allowed on this forum. |D The plot is set in stone. However, that stone leaves enough room to maneuver enough so that the roleplay can be considered sandbox. Sandbox cannot be everyone's personal taste, but it's a very popular one no less. Interacting with others and exploring the psychological journies of a young trainer has it's appeal to many. c: At some point their journy will take them straight up plot rode. In this case, the plot will slowly become more and more involved as we go along until we come to an end.

Consider training, exploring the island, and... making a student. |D

I'm just saying. Not having enough to do can be cured with a second character. A second character will also help you avoid RP locks. Students are also more flexible than teachers as an archetype.

For instance, Hilda is a plot character for a reason. Her class will be part of the plot. In the past classes have not been part of the plot. Unfortunately you're going to want a student to take part in that, not that teachers will always be excluded from plots. You could also try and have your teacher tag along, though you'd have to justify that. |D

@Our two people waiting for approval: Sorry about the wait. I'm waiting for a second opinion from our other GM :P

I haven't, Jason. I'm sorry to hear that. I'll go ahead and extract your character profiles and send them to you. That's so that if you decide you want to come back with the same character (and even the same levels) you can go ahead and do that.

Busy with FFR Official Tournament and struggling with writer's block.

Plus, I learned last night that the internal battery on my Pokemon Gold finally burned out after 10+ years, making continuing saved games after an extended period (read: longer than it takes to do a hard reset) with the power off impossible. What a trooper.

R.I.P. Gold version D: (I haxed Whitney to death without using a single restorative item!)

Alright, Yellow. If I want to join, can I? :) I'll probably need to ask about a lot of things since I still don't understand any story and not quite how pokémon are captured or where you can go... *goes to re-read the OP again*

Name: Aisling Eleonora Elden

Nickname: Just Aisling, pronounced /ˈeɪzlɪŋ/ (ayz-ling)

Age: 13

Gender: Female

Dorm: Suicune Dorm

Appearance:
Spoiler:

Personality: Aisling is a lax person. She is always calm and can easily focus when necessary. But she is sometimes slacking when it comes to pokémon training or other things that she should do. Like homework. She keeps a cheerful face and state but is sometimes getting a bit dreamy or drowzy. That's because she's daydreaming a lot. When bored, she converses with her pokémon, even though they aren't answering her back with words. She also thinks out loud sometimes, even though her pokémon aren't around.

Among her strengths is the fact that she doesn't get angry easily and keeps a happy face most of the time. She is a calm and creative person and can rather easily focus on several things at once in battles. Her mind isn't as drowzy as it seems, as she is quite the intelligent person and often makes up ingenious strategies in battles. She just chooses to be lax.

But her lazyness sometimes makes her mess things up. Also, she doesn't like getting beaten and always blames herself when she looses in battle, getting depressed for a while. This is because she never really had a hard time being the best at things before she came to the academy so she is in a way a bit spoiled. Now, she has a lot of competition and isn't at all the best even though she did make it into the Suicune dorm.

History: Aisling Elden grew up in the rather rich family of the Eldens. She lived her whole life up to now in the mansion outside of Ecruteak City in Johto, without siblings. This made her a bit spoiled and lazy since she was the little princess in the household. She did go to the local school and was an intelligent student there. But she was lazy and often forgot to do the homework in time, even though she got great scores when she did. Aisling was more often found staring out the window and drawing images of pokémon in her books, than actually listening.

Her parents bought her pokémon as playmates but they didn't like to see her pretend to be battling with them. They didn't think battling was a good profession for the young Elden girl. Her uncle though, thought differently. He secretly taught her rules and tricks for pokémon training and taught her pokémon some special moves. When her parents noticed this, a large argument broke out... and the result was actually that Aisling was allowed to go to the Trainer Academy outside of Kanto. It was her uncle Jordin's suggestion and Mr Elden eventually gave in and convinced Mrs Elden that his brother had a good idea. After all, there had been no great trainers in the Elden family. What if Aisling could be the first?

Pokémon...

Species: Munchlax, male
446.gif

Nickname: Max
Personality : Max is alike Aisling in many ways, having been given to her when he was very young and lived with her for several years now. His personality is hasty though. He can get angry or sad just as easily as he can get very happy, and he isn't afraid to show his feelings. He tends to nag Aisling a lot when there's something he wants. Most of the time, he'd rather lay around dozing off than battling, but when Aisling wants him to focus, he goes all in with eagerness and furiosity. His battling style is playful as he loves showing off his diverse moveset and has the same knack for different tactics as his trainer.
Lvl: 20
Moves: Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Rollout, Double Team, Secret Power

hmmm... I thought I think about this for a while and I have. I think that maybe just the random unstable time that I joined made it hard for me to fidn a foothold in the RP and just fell behind all of you. I'm hopign that this time around I'll be able to go a head and join at a less random time. everyone is just in school right?

I even have an excuse for mising: my character's uncle was in the hospital with pnemonia and they were unsure of how it would turn out, but in the end he was fine.

so yeah I guess I'll join abck in tommarrow, but first can someone catch me up please so then this doesnt happen again?
