First of all want to say thank you for making the rom!! It is truly amazing and has been helping me procrastinate during finals.

Now for my question:
I had been raising a Mankey and chose not to catch the wild Primeape on the way to Celadon city for this reason. Problem is, when the mankey I have been raising evolved it suddenly will not obey anymore. Even though it is only level 28 (and I have Sabrina's badge obviously) and other pokemon I have that are that level will obey. Anyway I can fix this? I can't enter the P1 with my Primeape because it won't obey and it's difficult to beat them with a Mankey.

Primeape isn't supposed to obey you. This game is following the anime. Primeape will start to obey you once you beat the first round of the P1 championship.
Tip: Make Primeape learn Air Cutter. It helps a lot.

You will also encounter this similar issue with Charmeleon/Charizard.
They will not obey you until you have reached the episode where Charizard fully trusts Ash as a trainer.

Ahh thank you! I knew about the Charmeleon/Charizard part but forgot about Primeape. I saw on the YT guides that people were having no problems with Primeape but I guess I didn't watch the first round...>.<

Wow this is a lot of fun. I've never enjoyed a ROM hack this much to be honest. The combination of nostalgia and the new experience of actually being Ash himself is absolutely wonderful.

I did notice one little thing which seemed like an issue. If this is intentional or a previously reported glitch, my bad. It seems that if you lose to Team Rocket in Viridian Forest, they just disappear. I didn't realize the girl right there would heal me and I was afraid that talking to her would start a battle, which my Pokemon were not in any condition to be doing. So I moved on without talking to her. I then ran into Team Rocket, and they fainted all my Pokemon. When I came back to Viridian Forest they didn't show up again as I expected... it seems as though the switch or whatever which decides whether they show up get flicked whether or not you actually defeated them?

It can learn Aerial Ace, though...

I don't like the battle sprites, they don't look that pro. There are many hacks that have Ash sprites in them, so borrow one of them. Also, name them Jessie and James, not "Team Rocket Cohorts" because Ash calls them by their names. Put in their theme song for when they want to battle or when they are battleing.

I have to say this is one of my favorite hacks ever and yet it still has yet to be nominated for HotY. There is some intense scripting and research that has gone on. I'm glad to see that you are taking a break before finishing the last half of the hack. You deserve the break and I bet you'll come back better than ever. Orange islands were always a favorite of mine. I can't wait to see your genius in work there!

Um, I apologize if this is a stupid question, but is there an updated Visual Boy Advance version? the one provided hasn't worked for me, and the ones I can find are pretty out of date.

Yeah that will be interesting. You should make it exactly like the episodes, you should have the player walking WITH a person. That would be cool.

If u love Orange Islands so much just wait till dec 25th beacuse a new Hack game naming LIQUID CRYSTAL is releasing on that date which includes orange island.

It's impossible. If you wanted to do that, you would have to hack Pokemon Yellow or SoulSilver/HeartGold but as we know, no-one has figured out how to hack SS/HG yet.
And hacking the special Pokemon Games (Yellow/Crystal/Sapphire) is not a favourite among Pokehackers.

All the other Pokemon games do not contain the data for Pokemon follow player.

They are working on a follow me sprite, but I dont think it is anywhere near being finshed. Plus thats only to have pikachu follow you not to have some one like brock or misty to be with you throughout the game.

If you wanted Brock or Misty to follow, you just change the Pikachu Sprite for a different sprite.

I will want to keep up on news with that.
It will be a breakthrough for Pokehackers if they could get it working!
