I don't think that way is accurate...If you check on Pg 6,you will know that a person called NawidN was added to the team too,and do you see his/her name on the front page?I Think Not.

Well firstly, the name; Ironed Heart? Your heart has been ironed flat? Or is it made of iron? The name suggests the former, and it's a bit odd sounding. Concept is nice though.

The region map looks interesting. Plenty to see and do it seems. Looks like it should be interesting to explore!

The starting story is a nice change from the norm. The mother being the professor is a good twist. The thing with the Elite Four is also interesting, I don't think anyone else has attempted such a story twist so far, and it seems to be a rather good one!

The Pokémon sprites are a little dull. There's a lack of brighter shades, so they don't pop out at all, and the outlines are a little dark which only makes the problem worse.

Sprite problem aside though, I hope you're making good progress. Good luck with your project!

Hey guys, I've got an update on the way, but first... I need some suggestions.

I want to change the name of this game, as I don't like it anymore. It was originally a placeholder, but, I haven't had any ideas as to what to change it to. So, I want you all to give me some ideas as to what I should rename the game. Any help is appreciated, and don't worry guys. This isn't dead, I'm just very slow right now. Rest assured, once the name has been changed, there WILL be an update.

Looks great with the CSS design and all, but there are no screenshots, my advice is never to use www.iaza.com, every screenshot in any of the showcases on these forums that comes from there just has the websites name on it and no actual screenshot. Good fakemon starters though.

Yeah, I've learned my lesson with Iaza.

I've got Dropbox now, and that's what I'm using. The screenshots that were previously there were very outdated, so, I'm working on some maps and touching them up. I'm terribly sorry about the lack of updates, everyone!

I know some people have been saying that this project is dead and I'm not working on it, but I'm happy to say that the rumor is false! I have been slowly working on Zircon while working on some commissions and doing some personal job hunting. I haven't had much success with the job hunt, but I have been making some decent progress on the game itself. There has been a few graphical changes along with minute character changes. I haven't gotten a lot of art done but hopefully that will change soon enough. I've said it a thousand times already, and I'm going to say it again; I'm learning to sprite, so, I'll be looking for some constructive criticism on the Pokémon sprites. Now, I guess it's time to update this ancient thread, yes?

November 23^rd, 2012 Thread Update

This update consists of new screenshots of the starting town of the starter selection process, the rival battle, and one screenie of Route One. There are ten in total, all displaying various parts; hopefully, you all will like them! Squirtle, Torchic, and Turtwig overworlds are all temporary and will be replaced very soon along with the back sprites.

An Elegant Beauty

Tara is the seventh Gym Leader. She is an elegant Pokémon Trainer accompanied by her lovely Water Pokémon. She uses them to participate in shows and to please the crowds of children with their splashes. Tara is rarely seen in her Gym, she's normally out close to the beaches or any body of water. She is extremely vain and isn't above degrading her challengers.

Great update on Pokemon Zircon,but I would like to point out a few slight errors in these screenshots.If these screenshots are WIP and not official,then oh well,but here goes!

Error 1:This is obvious;The player must be an inch shorter than Flaire,cuz look at their heads' positions!Totally different height,and since they should be about the same age,I find that a bit abnormal. ._.

Error 2:What happened to the shadows of Flaire,Professor Peach and the guy beside her?GASP THEY HAVE NO SHADOWS THEY ARE - Barrels. xD Yeah they're pretty much ghosts without a shadow.

Error 3:Flaire's VS Mugshot is missing her dye of yellow hair in her side bangs and back hair(eh random names for them,kay?I'm no hair specialist).Also,in case you didn't notice,the US VS sign isn't actually supposed to have that dot overlapping the S,only the Japanese one does.But it doesn't really show much,so meh. =P Also(optional error),Flaire's VS Mugshot would actually look better if the VS Sprite wasn't cropped like that,in my opinion.Or you could just slightly crop her lower to draw more of the upper portion of her head...

So that's all!And...eh Lavapho's new sprite kinda reminds me of Tails Doll with that empty creepy emotionless look...Any chance you could change it back to the old sprite?I won't have nightmares then... x0 So yeah that's the end,so bye.

Actually most of those aren't errors, just differences in style. The shadows are indeed errors, but having someone taller than the hero and the vs bar changes are just aesthetics that differ from the norm a little.

Anyways it's a great update Elaynii, I love the little descriptions you have before choosing your starter. Good luck, and hopefully we'll be seeing more updates soon!

Well, I'll respond in the order you pointed out the errors in.

Flaire's overworld was done by a friend, who has his own style. Be that as it may, Flaire IS older than the player by two years. Plus, she's getting a redesign; no need to stress over that. Her VS mugshot is pretty much accurate to her new design; she no longer has the flame streaks on her hair and I've toned her hair down to where it flows naturally. I also may give her more of her head, but I have restrictions on the mug size.

Regarding the shadows... Anabelle is the only one to have that honor. None of the characters aside from the heroine currently have shadows. I manually added that in just to see if it would change my view on it. I'm manually added the shadows in one by one, and it'll take some time. As for the VS sequence, I'm experimenting with it. I personally like the period, but, if people comment on it, I'll remove it or change the style.

As for Lavapho's sprite, I rather like the updated look and a good friend of mine took the time out of his busy day to sprite it. I don't want to throw it away, I guess you'll have to get used to it.

I'm wondering why you didn't keep Lavapho's old sprite though, I think it looked better than the one right now :/. Overall it's a great update, good luck with everything. Major thanks go out to Abnegation for helping with my maps; it's only thanks to him that I've improved on my mapping! ♥ Regarding Lavapho's sprite, I changed Lavapho's sprite because a friend offered to resprite it, but if want the old sprite back, I'll change it. Tara's name was suggested by a friend, though her original name was Tori. Like with Lavapho, I'll change her name if people comment on it enough. Personally, I like Tara more than Tori..

Tara's good.Normally nowadays fanmade Pokemon Gym Leaders and Elite 4 all have weird names.Like,they should choose a typical nowadays name that sounds normal but has a meaning behind it,like Tara.Tori doesn't really sound normal.Also,problem with the Lavapho's sprite,like I said before,is that it's too emotionless.Its old sprite brought out its arrogant and proud personality,while this one just stares at you like its waiting for you to give it free moneyz.NEVET SHALL I DO THAT,YOU EVIL LAVAPHO. >80

Okay, here is a slight update!

It's nothing too big, just a few graphical things like sprites and general tile updates. I've been browsing deviantART for some tiles and finally found the original tiles for my grassy mountain tile. I've edited it and made it into a regular rocky cliff tile, so the previous tiles which were the one tile high HG/SS tiles have now been removed. I've also ripped a few things from the said game and inserted it in Zircon; two things being the sign and arrows. It's nothing big as I already said, but I think it looked nice in the game!

Here is an example on Route 2...

Also, there is a required quest that the first Gym Leader, Folia will give you. In order to progress through the story, you will have to find the key to her Gym, which she lost in Dencreep Forest. Here are a few screenshots from that quest... and guess who makes their debut appearance? That's right, Team Nemesis!

Also, shadows have been implemented and Lavapho's sprite has been updated to the previous version, however the necessary color changes have been made. Aside from the custom tiles I'm getting commissioned, the game itself is done up until the second Gym. :'D I'll be doing some beta testing and if everything goes well... a demo could be released soon! Don't get your hopes up though, I'm a horrible perfectionist.
