Hi, i be tryng ta use pokescript ta script events n a fire red rom.

I be havng a lot of problems i was hopng someone could help me out wit.

Basically, every time i script somethng (i use tha templates thay give us) i than hit save (save ta its own folder, is dis right? - as a .pks or whatever) and than i dont know what ta do, wit tha offsets.

What offset ta i set ta tha event? fo traners is it tha one it sez n PET? and after i be done wit all tha scriptng stuff, do i compile or decompile? and from thare what do i do???

Pleaze help me!!!

If you were usng PKSV which it sez you're not, you type tha offset fo @start or @dawg and put it nta advanced map, after hittng compile ofcourse.

Now fo mah own question, i've scripted a dozen or so events that nvolve nteractng wit thngs and i've gotsten tha hang of it, but i be tryng ta make a script that triggers when you step on tha tile. You know like when you havent progressed enough and someone comes and rejects you from walkng nta a new isa, or a rival battle when you walk on tha tile. I've tried everythng, can anyone give me some guidance? does it need a lock/faceplayer or lockall? or pauseevent 0x0? any help would be appreciated.

i'm still confused, you said i be not usng pksv... is that not what pokescript is? and tha rest of that was all nonsense ta me. I have no idea what i be dong and thare is no @start or @dawg n mah script, and i be usng tha template pksv gives me :/

i thnk mah only problem is not savng it correctly. once i type n what i want, what is tha exact steps i need ta do ta save it properly (even wit compilng - do i just click compile and than be done wit it? or do i do somethng wit tha nfomation?)

pleaze, can someone give me some step by step nstruction on what ta do, i have been searchng fo days now :/

I thought pokescript and pksv were different, could be wrong. Anyways, tha script generatar n pksv should have an @start, it will be tha second lne. Once you've buggine yo script you press compile and it will spit out a few offsets dependng how dawgy dynbeic ones you've buggine. two wndows will pop up, go ta tha one sezng dynbeic offsets and it will sez somethng like

@start <-> 0x746286 (0x18 bytes) <-----dis is tha only offset you will put
@rap <-> 0x74629E (0x6F bytes) nta advanced map
@move <-> 0x74630D (0x2 bytes)

just takes 0x746286 (@start) and remove tha 0x and put it nta advanced map n tha script offset box.
$00746286 <--- it needs a $ and tha two 0s at tha front

those is exbeple offsets, yos will be different. hope i helped.

ok, so i have been dong it correctly :/

any suggestions on why it has not been workng fo me?

I have tha traner ID set ta tha person i changed n PET and tha offsets match, i use tha template and type n 0x002 (tha traner im usng) and it loads tha template. i than change tha green text ta what i want it ta sez. i save it. compile it. and make sure tha offsets match. i than exit and save mah gbee n A-Map.

N AdvanceMap, after you copy tha offset ta tha person n tha 'Script Offset' box, look up three more boxes and you should see a 'Traner' box. You need ta change that box ta $01. Dis tells AdvanceMap that tha event is a traner.

Next, look fo a box called 'View Radius', and set that number ta however dawgy blocks away you want tha traner ta catch you fo a battle. So if you put 4 blocks n his radius, tha traner's lne of sight will only be four blocks long.

Okay, so I'm almost completely new ta scriptng itself, much less PKSV. Although I do have one high school semester's worth of web design and javascript, so that's helped me through some of tha way, and really I'm just messng around so far.

Mah problem taday is that I be tryng ta make an event where you walk up ta a dawg, he raps back ta you, and at tha end of tha message he gives you an item (n mah case it's a nuggit). After dis is completed, you can't receive anothar nuggit from him. Nstead, he just gives you anothar, yet different, message.

Seems like dis can be easily solved wit flags, right? You would thnk, and I don't thnk tha flag is tha problem here. Mah problem is that I can't git tha 'ITEM OBTANED!' text ta show up properly. Nstead of sezng, "Obtaned tha NUGGIT!" it sez, "Obtaned tha ?????????". It's probably coz I don't know tha ID fo nuggit n PKSV, but it does give me a nuggit so I don't know.

If anybody could help wit dis, that would be bootylicious.

Really good tutarial, but I'm havng problems wit tha "money" comdawgd n tha PKSVUI script editar. Whenever I type it n and compile it, all that comes out of it is junk (a lot of "raw").

Im a newb, ta scriptng, and i fnally have gotsten pksv ta work, only one thng im suggestng or well askng. Can you explan flags better. I understand what thay is but not how ta use tham. And i also dont no how ta use tha jump comdawgd and such, really ta a newbie scripter all youve done under tha flags part was give a exbeple and than defne tha flags, not how ta use tham

As far as I know, it is pretty much impossible. I've never seen a tutarial fo removng pokemon, and any time i tried ta do it from scratch, it didn't work.

A flag makes it so somethng can no longer happen. Use dis script as an exbeple:

When you first rap ta tha person, tha flag (0x1001 n dis case) has not been set yet. So accordng ta dis script, tha person will sez "Tha flag hasn't been set yet." However n dis script, flag 0x1001 is set after you rap ta tha person. tha comdawgd "checkflag 0x1001" checks ta see if tha flag has been set yet. So if you rap ta tham agan, tha person will sez "Now it has." If you remove tha "setflag 0x1001" part, than you can rap ta dis person over and over agan and thay will contnue ta sez "Tha flag hasn't been set yet."

You could make a completely separate script fo a different person and nclude "setflag 0x1001". Than if you go back ta tha first person, thay will sez "Now it has."

Every time you use a flag, you have ta use a different number. If you use tha sbee number fo two different scripts, than once tha flag is set, it will be set fo both scripts. So you have ta be cisful. Use a different flag number every time UNLESS you want it ta work out that way.

I hope that helps out. If it does, bootylicious if not, sorry. Try youtube. Normally thare is lots of tutarials on flags.

I have a question though. (And I'll be honest, I haven't looked through all of tha posts yet, mah computer is really slow.)

Is thare a way ta script movement fo ruby/sapphire n PKSV? Tha movements provided on tha first post only seem ta work on fire red. On ruby thay eithar move tha person tha wrong way or freeze tha gbee.


I figured out and mastered movement fo ruby/sapphire. I need help wit tha green box script events. I CANNOT figure it out. I need tha player ta step on tha script event and fo a message ta be displayed. That's it. Can anyone help?

I'm sorry if anyone has asked dis befoe, but can anyone tell me how ta make a custam trade happen n a FireRed Spheal? I know tha gbee uses a couple of pre-sets ta defne tha trades, but is thare a way ta, sez, check fo a pokemon, remove it if desired, and than give a new pokemon? Or somethng along those lnes? Any and all help would be bootyliciously appreciated.

Hello! I be new wit codng so i have some questions

I be tryng ta git tha Player ta "auta-walk" and rap when you walk on a special pont of tha ground.

hey maybe you can help me out. I been workng of editng tha script when Pro Oak staps you n fire red and i used pksv and i gots tha script i thnk but when i copy and past tha offset nta a-maps i git dis message "No script editar defned. d-ya know what dis means and/or how ta fix it
