Hi people of the Pokecommunity, my name is Comerion and I have been spriting for about 2 years. I have recently been making a fakedex, being called the Oralia region. It will be updated every time I make a new fake or update something. Please critique, its what I need the most

They look fantastic! I must admit I like the one and two more then the twenty second one, I don't know what about it... It has the 'Fakémon look' as I call it. Keep it up though!

Somehow, I feel like the 1st and 2nd one is too similar.

Your style bears a resemblance to the style nintendo uses in black and white, which I find great. Well done.

I really enjoy these sprites the colors blend well and the ideas are fantastic. I was thinking. Maybe you could call that fish looking one Gloommist. It is a ghost water type right?

Yeah that one I feel was a bit rushed... I'll fix it soon. Its meant to be the Magikarp-Gyarados of the region, except that its much more useful than Magikarp.

Yeah I have a new idea for the grass starters so I may redo them. Does a T-rex/Spinosaurus sound good? (I haven't designed it yet)

Thanks I actually try to make my style more HG/SS style, I am not that fond of B/W style XD

Thanks! although the fish is actually Water/Flying, its based on the flying fish. But thanks for the idea anyway!

Sorry guys I haven't got round to spriting anything in the last couple of days.
However here are a few designs:

New grass starters (3): T-rex/Spinosaur.

Rodent line (2): Flying squirrel.

Bug line (2): Shield bugs

Thats all for now.

Ok everyone, I have a new grass starter. It ended up being based on a velociraptor, it is designed for camoflage. I am pretty happy with it, but that doesn't mean its good.

If you're trying to do "balanced" starters, I'd suggest using:
Fire/Dark and Water/Psychic (most balanced)
or even Fire/Rock and Water/Ice
I love your new grass starter, that truly looks like it belongs in a Pokemon game!
Keep up the good work!

Thanks! he is pure grass type at the moment, but the final evo,(and maybe the first evo too) will be grass/dark.

Thankyou I'll probably do the starters secondary types like Dark/Psychic/Fighting, but I am not sure yet. Its final evo and possibly its first evo too will be Grass/Dark.

We definitely do need a Fire/Psychic for a starter! I can't wait to see what it will look like!
I'd surely hope that the Grass/Dark evos are actually dark looking. Not necessarily "Evil" but just colored darker.

Oh wow, thats fantastic!
The fire is good, and so is the shading, so nice!
The overall pose lacks something... Perhaps putting Moltres's feet further back and make it look like its rearing towards us instead of its body being flat.
(: I love all your sprite works, keep it up!

The skill here is absolutely great, and I do recognize some of your work on DA.
What can be improved here is the design, since some can still be improved, e.g:

You may want to update all the sprite onto your first post so that viewers can easily take a look of all sprites more easily.

Improved Aphorn! Whaddya think?
Anyway, thanks, but I agree design is DEFINITELY my weak point.
On the other hand, Newtiny is actually one of my fave designs, how could I improve it?

your designs are pretty good...My only complaint is that all pokemon in general look childish. I would like to see some gnarly pokemon that look like they would eat a child. I'm curious about your design process. If you draw concepts of the pokemon before you sprite them you should put those in the thread to so people can compare and maybe give you ideas for things you could tweak.

Hah LOL thanks! Yeah I haven't really made any evo's yet, so they're still kinda "cute n cuddly" XD

As for drawing them out on paper, well yes, I could, I have considered it before, its definitely a possibility for the future. Where would I post them, though?

Oh and, I reckon Snappite could XD

Why not post them here under a spoiler in this thread...I dont think it would pull the focus away from the sprites. It would just be so people could see the whole process and make suggestions along the way.

I personaly dont sprite, I can't handle drawing in super low rez, but I draw some awesome concept art for pokemon. I might try spriting some in the near future after i finish up a few more concept drawings.

Yeah its true, but meh, i'll think about it, but normally what I do anyway is just post the sprite and let people critique the design as well, I find it much easier and quicker.

Updated the first post btw. Hope ya like.

ya it is pretty big but it makes the thread much cleaner and easier to use when all your art is in one place. I just noticed something about your sprites you added the shadows casted by light on them, but on Newtiny for example you don't have any light spots just his normal skin tone. They would look much better with a few light spots on them.
