Elder Scrolls: Akatosh's Hourglass
GM'ed by Elite Killer and Westside Connection
Rated T for Teen

OOC Thread here - post sign ups and OOC information here. I will post where to find informants and information there as well.

Plot/Background:

The Land of Tamriel, which is where the Elder Scrolls series and this RP takes place, is a medival-somewhat fantasy land. The land of Tamriel is split into nine different regions, which is shown on the map here:

Spoiler:

Also, the land of Tamriel is mostly inhabited by ten sentient species, which are the Imperials, Nords, High Elves, Wood Elves, Dark Elves, Orcs, Bretons, Redguards, Argonians and the Khajit. These species will be elaborated on later in the post.

Anyways, this RP will take place in Cyrodiil, the center region on the map. You may, during this RP have to visit other regions as part of the plot. Cyrodiil's map is here:

Spoiler:

Elder Scrolls Wiki you can use this if you want to research more.

This RP is set fifteen years after the events of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. At this point in time, the civil war in Skyrim has not been solved, instead Stormcloaks still own the Eastern half of Skyrim, while the Imperials still control the Western half. While the Skyrim Civil War is in a cease fire, another Revolution is happening, this time in Morrowwind. This Revolution, called the Dunmer Resistance, is being led by Evin Liyal, a noble who tried for peaceful seperation of Morrowind from the Argonian state, but when that failed, Evin launched full rebellion. Also, the tensions between the Cyrodiilic Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion continue to escalate, and there has been skirmishes along the borders already.

Akatosh has forever been revelled by the people of Tamriel as the God of Time, and as the Chief Deity of the Divines. Akatosh is worshipped in temple and shrines all over Tamriel. Akatosh's relevance as the God of Time has led to a spike in activity in a recent discovery made in the Valus Mountains, which are on the Cyrodiil/Morrowind borders. This discovery, made by fleeing Dark Elf rebels, indicated the existence of a relic called Akatosh's Hourglass. This Hourglass is supposed to give the wielder the power to control time and gives the wielder unlimited power, in essence giving the wielder the powers of Akatosh. As you can see, there is a lot of reason to be interested in this relic. This discovery of a once in a life-time power has drawn all the military, political and cultural interest to the Hourglass.

You, as the roleplayer, are a tamrielic citizen either living in Cyrodiil or heading to Cyrodiil. Your intent is to track and locate the Hourglass, either following or discarding any morals. You may be apart of a faction looking for the Hourglass, or you may be independent looking for the Hourglass for personal means. While you are searching for this valuable hourglass, military tensions continue to rise and this hourglass may be the push that knocks Tamriel into full-scale war.

Rules:

  1. Standard RP Corner and PC rules Apply
  2. Westside Connection and I are the GM's and we make the final decisions.
  3. This RP is rated T for violence, slight romance (nothing too serious) and blood (nothing too graphic)

  5. NPC's are okay, no over doing it

First Post:

For your first post, you as the characters will post about going to Cheydinhal, in Northeastern Cyrodiil. You may start in Cyrodiil or another region, yet your goal is to get to Cheydinhal, where the two Dark Elves that found the stone tablet are hiding out. Once some of you get there, I will post an update about more places to go. At the start of your posts, could you please state your character's name and location.

Ulrich Gondyctor - Silent Claw Tavern, Riverhold, Elsweyr

Ulrich quietly sat in the Tavern, waiting for the smugglers to show up. Ulrich sipped on some wine, although the wine was sour, it gave Ulrich a false impression of cooling down in the hot, dry Elsweyr. Ulrich grew impatient, ever growing tired of all those damn cats. Ulrich finished his goblet was empty of wine, So Ulrich reclined in his chair, and relaxed. The smugglers would get here, Ulrich assured himself. Ulrich had slowly dozed off, and was woken up to a commotion. Ulrich concealed his face and peeked outside. A group of Imperial Agents had arrested the smugglers right in the middle of the city, and the Imperials were surrounded by Thalmor troops, along with the Khajiit guard. Ulrich picked up on the conversation going on.

" We were here to pick up an Ulrich Gondyctor," One of the smugglers yelled in fear.

Ulrich could tell that the Imperials remembered that name.

" Tell me where he is," an Imperial asked.

Ulrich snuck back into the tavern, and exited the back door. Right outside, there was a horse, tied up. Ulrich had something against stealing, but he would die if he didn't. So Ulrich mounted the horse and quietly entered a small dip in the ground near by. Ulrich rushed the horse and it went. Ulrich rode about five-hundred meters away from the Tavern, and looked back. Ulrich saw the Imperials out back and pointing at Ulrich. The Imperials mounted their horses and began chasing Ulrich. Ulrich mushed his horse, making it go faster and run away from the Imperials. Ulrich was heading north, not the best idea, but the Hourglass was going to be his. Ulrich quickly saw the Cyrodiil border, and rode faster towards it. Upon examination, Ulrich saw a large stone barricade between The Thalmor territory and the Imperial territory. Ulrich rode up against the wall, and saw the Imperials approaching quickly. Ulrich stood up on his horse, and jumped over the barricade. Ulrich looked around and began sprinting on foot. Ulrich had lost sight of the Imperials, which meant that they didn't jump the wall. Ulrich kept sprinting, never running so hard in his life. His heart was beating faster then his feet moved. Ulrich kept sprinting at his maximum speed for twenty solid minutes, feeling the adrenaline flowing through his bloodstream. Ulrich finally found a small rock-overhang to rest in. Ulrich laid down under the over-hang, and took a minute to breath. Ulrich relaxed, and fell asleep.

(Felix Veturius - Somewhere in the north-east of Cyrodiil)

Felix heard large feet continuing to stomp behind him. It was to his surprise that an ogre could actually run that fast. With their bulky size, he had expected to have outrun the beat long ago, but the chase continued. The sound of each step the ogre took resonated through the ground, and left clear marks of trampled grass and flowers on the ground. Felix was unsure just how close he was, but he couldn't be drawing this sprint for too long. The imperial mage was panting and sweating, while still not an inch closer to escaping the wrath of the ogre behind him. "Me smash puny little human!" the dull blue creature shouted. He was clearly ticked off about Felix stumbling upon the cave he called home, and to then proceed wrecking the place.

Felix knew that, if he couldn't outspeed his opponent, he'd have to come up with another strategy. The hilly landscape provided him with a number of options, but a rocky outcrop, with a narrow fissure, just wide enough for him to hide in, was a viable hiding place. He dashed forward to it, not caring how close the ogre already was to him. If he was out of reach, he'd be safe. He tucked himself into the hiding spot and hoped that for how dim-witted the ogre was, he wouldn't be able to get to him, or even know he was in a hiding place. The steps got closer, however, the vibrations drilling through his eardrums. He grabbed hold of his iron dagger, and reached for a small vial which he had clipped onto his belt.

"Where you go! Come here!" Given how loud that sounded, Felix figured the ogre was extremely ticked off right now, and on top of that incredibly close to his hiding spot. He tried to breathe as silently as possible to not give away his presence. He uncorked the vial, a whispy green smoke coming from it. He drenched his dagger in the liquid, and waited for his moment to strike.

"No hide. No want to play hide and seek. It's stupid game for children, coward." The ogre taunted him. He stuck out a hand into the crack in the rocks where Felix had sheltered himself. He now stood face to face with the large blue hand, easily thrice the size of his head. With his dagger now drenched in the green liquid, he stung into the hand like a wasp. The Ogre let out a loud yell in agony as he retracted his hand. Felix hoped the poison would be enough to slow the beast down as he escaped from his hiding place and resumed his run. He figured his best bet was to go to the closest town from here, Cheydinhal.

Dar' Kovu
Cyrodiil border

Finally, the guard post into cyrodill was in sight. Dar' Kovu had taken off his armor and weapons and stashed them in a bag so the guards would have no reason to stop him. The only weapon he kept out was his dagger and had put on some fine clothes.

He walked up to the border crossing, where he was stopped by a guard. "Stop," he commanded "There's a crossing fee."

"No there isn't, but here, that should be enough." Dar' Kovu said, throwing a pouch with 1,000 coins in it.

"You can pass," the guard said with a chuckle. "Have a good day."

Dar' Kovu walked on to the town of Skingrad. He bought a room at the Inn and spent the entire day at the tavern, his 'Happy birthday' gift to himself. That cyrodillic brandy was good stuff. Suddenly the door to the tavern flung open as 3 guards walked in. They seemed to walk straight to him with their hands on there swords. One guard tapped on Dar' Kovu's shoulder and asked "Are you Dar' Kovu?"

"Yes, why?" He asked back.

"You're going to jail... that's why." the guard answered. Dar' Kovu pulled out his dagger and stabbed it straight through the guard's heart then grabbed his bag off the floor and jumped over the counter. He ran to the other side of the counter and to the front door, but a guard jumped and tackled him to the floor. He managed to wrestle a hand free and slashed the man across the face with his claws. The guard recoiled in pain, giving him the room he needed to escape. He snatched up his equipment bag and ran out the door. Someone had to have told the guard who he was or something, he wasn't famous enough to be wanted in multiple provinces, whoever told needed to be killed before he told more guards. He left the town for an hour to give the guard at least some time to calm down, then walked back in. He listened in on some peoples conversation till he heard his name come up, he took out his steel dagger and walked over.

"You! No! The guard said you'd be taken care of!" A high elf yelled at him. He was there when Dar' Kovu killed his first contract, the Thalmor official. Dar' Kovu walked up and stuck the dagger through his stomach. "Sorry," Dar' Kovu said "You can't tell anyone else about me now."

With that taken care of, he headed back to his inn room. The guard should leave him alone in fear that he was part of the brotherhood.

He laid on the bed and fell asleep

Thorsten the Powerful - Skyrim/Cyrodiil Border

Thorsten sat quietly in his wagon, accompanied by three specially trained Stormcloak Guards, handpicked to protect Thorsten. Thorsten knew they would be killed on the spot if any of them sported Stormcloak colours, so they all wore different armour instead. Thorsten knew the importance of this mission, so he made sure nothing would go wrong. Thorsten was alerted by the wagon driver, also hand-selected for his skills, that they were approaching the Imperial outpost on the border. Thorsten breathed in deeply, and closed his eyes. Thorsten imagined his wife, Alea, at home all alone without Thorsten. Thorsten also thought of Windhelm, and how it needed him now more than ever. Thorsten was removed from his thoughts by a shove from one of his allies.

" Thorsten, the outpost is in sight, we should raze it," the guard, named Aringor, suggested.

" No Aringor, that would only alert the Imperials of our presence. We will handle this quietly. Let me do all the talking," Thorsten replied.

" Why do we have to be quiet about our entrance to Cyrodiil, they should know we are here and fear us for it," another guard, named Esloth, interjected.

Thorsten had to turn his attention to Esloth.

" No Imperial Army is going to fear four Stormcloaks running around. They'd crush us like a bug. We will not be able to defeat them until we have the hourglass," Thorsten explained.

The wagon stopped. Thorsten could hear a conversation between some Imperials and the wagon driver, but Thorsten couldn't hear it. That changed however. Three Imperial Soldiers faced Thorsten and his guards sitting in the wagon and barked,

" All of you, get out!"

Thorsten jumped out and nudged the others to do the same. They put their hands on their heads, knowing the typical Imperial drill.

" Hmm, four armed Nords crossing the border into Cyrodiil. Interesting," the Officer stated.

" Get on your knees," the Officer ordered.(wink, wink)

Thorsten and his men replied.

So, are you boys Stormcloaks," the Officer asked.

" No, we ain't a part of Ulfric and those damn traitors, they should learn to live with the Empire, like most of Skyrim has," Thorsten lied.

" Okay, get back in, and get going," the Officer barked, convinced that Thorsten was pro-Imperial.

Thorsten and his entourage got back into the wagon, and set off into Cyrodiil. After a few minutes of silence, Aringor broke the silence,

" You didn't really mean those things about the Stormcloaks did you."

" Of course not, it was just to fill the Imperial ears with bull$#*! they love to hear," Thorsten replied.

The ride continued with silence and they steadily decreased in elevation as they went from Skyrim to Cyrodiil. They would be stopping in Bruma, a mostly Nordic town, for the night. The road descended off of the Jerall mountains into the warm, lowlands of Cyrodiil. Thorsten admitted the tempatures would be a nice change, as opposed to the cold of Skyrim. The wagon kept trucking along until they approached a city, which was in fact Bruma. The wagon was parked at the stables and Thorsten and his entourage headed towards Bruma. Bruma looked very similar to Windhelm, which helped with the home-sickness. Thorsten and his group found an Inn, the Jerall view Inn, and entered it.

Haj-Julan, "Reptile-in-Shadows" - The West Weald, Near Skingrad

Reptile moves slowly, silently forward. His bowstring is pulled taut, his target is within sight. He pauses, holding his breath, his vision sharpening as adrenaline courses through his veins. Time seems to slow as he follows his target's movements, letting the arrow fly when his prey stops to scratch it's ear. The arrow pierces the wolf's neck, severing it's spine and dropping the wolf dead. The two wolves nearby look up at the sound of the released string and thud of impact.

Reptile stands, his cover blown as the wolves catch his scent. He takes half a second to aim, shooting the closer wolf in the chest. It staggers back as it's partner rushes forward. Reptile nocks and fires another arrow into the wounded wolf's chest, killing it.

He quickly stashes his bow against his back, drawing his war axe and dagger. He dodges to the side as the wolf leaps for him, slicing it's side with his dagger. Undeterred by this small injury, the wolf turns and stands it's ground. Reptile faces it down, stepping back to avoid it's snapping jaws. He swings his axe downwards, chopping of part of the wolf's ear. As it whines in pain, Reptile presses his advantage, moving in for the kill. He ducks low, stabbing his dagger up through the wolf's jaw, pinning it's mouth shut. He moves around, burying his axe in it's skull, dropping it to the ground.

After taking a second to make sure the wolf is dead, he recovers his weapons and arrows, then hauls the three wolves to a nearby rock. Glancing up at the setting sun, she quickly skins the wolves, hanging their pelts up to dry. He makes a quick meal out of the wolf corpses, then settles down to check his map. By his calculations, the Wayshrine of Akatosh is only a few hours' march Northwest of his current location. As good a place to start his search as any, he would have been there already if he hadn't agreed to hunt down the wolf pack. He sighs, curling up under the warm rock, letting the last rays of the sun strike his back. He'd make it there tomorrow, content with the knowledge that wolf attacks would be slightly less common now.

Thorsten the Powerful - Jerall View Inn, Bruma

Thorsten and his guard squad entered the Inn, which was crafted with nordic architecture, which brought the memories of Skyrim back to him. Although he had been out of Skyrim for a few hours, he had already missed his homeland. Although Bruma was heavily influenced by Skyrim, to Thorsten it was not quite the same. Thorsten walked up to the bar, and took a seat on one of the stools. The bartender, who was also a Nord, walked up towards Thorsten.

"So, what'll it be," the bartender asked.

" A goblet of Colovian Brandy," Thorsten answered.

" Sure thing, twenty-five septims," the bartender informed, pouring a goblet for Thorsten.

Thorsten dropped twenty-five septims on the counter, and received his Colovian Brandy. Colovian Brandy was one of the few things he liked about Cyrodiil, slowly sipping the Brandy as he watched over the inn, checking for Imperials.

Ethan Haze - The College of Winterhold

"Center the energy to the palm of your hand, think only about protecting yourself," Ethan said aloud, reading a book about how to cast lesser wards. He pointed his hand to the sky, so that he wouldn't hurt any people if he failed. He raised his left hand to the sky and cast the spell. It failed, and in it's place fire existed. Ethan sighed, and stood on a wall nearby.

"You need help?" Said a tiny voice nearby. It was Navarre, a restoration specialist. He'd never actually talked to Navarre before, mainly because he felt ashamed that he's been at the college for fourteen years and hasn't learned a single restoration spell. That, paired with the fact that she was six years younger than him.

Avoiding eye contact, he answered in response,"No, I'll get it."

In response, Navarre moved to meet his eyes, and simply looked at them for a few minutes. She then moved away and said, "It's not about thought. Thought has no effect on your magic." She pointed her open palm at him. "Nor is it a matter of concentrating your energy to a single point like you do in the School of Destruction. Instead, you have to spread the energy to the entirety of your hand. With a few exceptions, you only ever need to spread energy to your hand or your entire body." She cast the spell and it worked.

Ethan tried to do as she said, and surely enough, out came the luminous white shield. Overjoyed, Ethan yelled in victorious fashion. He thanked her vigorously, and then returned to his quarters before she had any time to respond. All he needed to do now was learn Healing and he could finally set out for the Akatosh Hourglass.

Neela-Fa, Belda

She skulked through the corridors, only the eerie turquoise light illuminating her figure and highlighting the green shades of her face; at times her scales would take on the colour of emeralds, at others jade. Dexterous fingers tightened their grip on the metal between them, occasionally twirling the weapon out of boredom; the action made no sound and neither did she as she crept towards her target. He was there, garbed in an ebony robe that was drawn over his head so as to disguise himself from any witnesses, but from the stench of him Neela-fa could tell that this was definitely her mark.

With her tail pressed as close to her body as possible, the Argonian darted across the doorway to the central chamber. Her light armour made it almost certain that she was not heard, but she still held her breath as the man turned around to stare in her direction - not that he could see her from her hiding spot in the shadows; he was Breton and dull of senses, unless he was using Alteration spells to heighten them. However, Neela-fa knew from her intel that this conjurer was only skilled in the raising of the undead and possessed a fire spell or two (of course, she would have to expect the unexpected, for contacts hadn't always proven themselves to be trusted or worthy of the coin paid to them; had she been part of the Thieves' Guild then there would have been hundreds of beggars willing to help her).

Her entire frame was still, even the fingers that had casually been playing with the dagger. With her breath still held she crept towards him until - certain that he could not react - she was close enough to plunge the dagger into his lower back, remove it, whirl around to his front and stab his breast, aiming for the heart. He slunk to the floor, robes pooling out around his corpse, yet strangely there was no blood, even on her dagger as she retrieved it.

Odd, she thought to herself, and then the sensation of a searing heat passing by her left side caused her to leap to the right. Clinging to the shadows, her eyes were wide as she saw a second figure emerge from further within the chamber, another fireball forming within his palms.

"Dammit!" she hissed, feeling a little stupid for having overlooked the fact that he could raise the dead; when she had arrived in this place initially there had been but a few imps, no humans. No, they had already been turned into zombies and who knew how many this sorcerer had in his arsenal. He sent another fireball her way, not to inflict damage but to find out where she was, as the flaming orb was like a beacon no sooner had it hit a wall and illuminated the area around it upon impact. She had caught on to this, however, and was weaving her way towards him.

"Too easy, despite yer li'l trick," she grinned toothily, knocking him off his feet with her tail and squatting down on top of him, not before she had tossed her dagger into the air and caught it in her mouth. Her hands were at his wrists, pinning them down and preventing him from using magick. Yes, this was him, he had that smell and now he was squirming like a insect, a tiny, insignificant insect.

"I'll kill you!" he threatened timidly - there was a slight stutter, but not enough to be noteworthy. Neela-fa chuckled to herself, leaning down and dragging the knife down his torso. He roared with pain, and the distraction was long enough for her to move it into her hand and then slit his throat, ending his life before he had the chance to cast another spell.

She waited for a second, ensuring that this was the right man and that there were no more spells to jeopardise her mission. The last thing she wanted was a mark being brought back from the dead, especially one who found pleasure in taking advantage of young children, killing them, reviving them and then repeating the process. She would need a very good soak once she arrived at Cheydinhal, though first she would have to find her client and collect her reward.

Haj-Julan, "Reptile-in-Shadows" - The West Weald, Near Skingrad

Reptile runs to the top of a hill, crouching low on top of a rock as he looks down at the ruins below him. An ancient Wayshrine, it was crumbling 200 years ago, and the Order of the Nine's attempts to restore it had done little but prevent any further degradation. Reptile holds his bow in his right hand, idly twirling an arrow around the claws of his left hand. He slowly approaches the old Wayshrine, his sharp eyes scanning for any sign of danger.

When no signs appear, he puts his bow and arrow away, searching the Wayshrine for any information. There are ancient carvings in the rock, nearly faded into total obscurity, but some are still legible. He pulls an empty notebook from his travel pack, copying the inscriptions as best he can. With any luck, these writings will hold a clue to the location of the Hourglass.

He stops writing when he hears a sound coming from the nearby bushes. He looks over at the area, but nothing moves. He puts away his ntebook, drawing his bow and nocking an arrow. He pulls the string tight, staring at the bushes. After a long minute of stillness, he fires the arrow, causing a cry of pain to emit from the bush.

A Dunmer bolts from the bush, running away from Reptile with an arrow protruding from his shoulder. Reptile takes aim, holding his breath as he sights along the arrow. Time slows, and his vision zooms in on his target. He lets the arrow fly, striking the dark elf in the back, causing him to fall to the ground. Reptile runs forward, standing over the dark elf as he kneels on the ground, holding his hands up in surrender.

"Have mercy, I beg of you!" Reptile pulls another arrow, aiming it at the Dunmer's face. The elf grabs Reptile's legs, pleading. "Wait, no! Let me explain!" Reptile releases the arrow, the tip embedding itself dead center between the elf's blood-red eyes. He lets out a strangled cry before collapsing, unmoving.

Reptile watches his corpse for a moment, making sure the elf is dead. He recovers one of his arrows, and takes a bag of Septims from the elf's pocket, as well as a small amethyst. He leaves the body, going back to the Wayshrine to continue writing down the inscriptions.

[Ulrich Gondyctor, West Weald, Cyrodiil

Ulrich awoke from his slumber, not remembering what day it was. Ulrich stood up, and recollected himself. Looking out from his cave, he was asleep for only a few hours. Ulrich stood up, and began walking. Ulrich could see the city of Skingrad from here, and Ulrich decided that would be he destination. Ulrich covered his face with his hood, and began walking to Cyrodiil. Ulrich knew he would have to watch himself as he was in enemy territory and he was only lightly armed and without a guard squad. Ulrich marched down towards Skingrad, watching every step for Imperial guards. Ulrich eventually found the gold road, and turned on it towards the City of Skingrad. Ulrich walked quietly down the road, trying to keep his presence unassuming and low-key. Within time, Ulrich reached Skingrad. The place was crawling with city guards, but not many soldiers. The guards were focused on the Inn, where a guard laid dead and another injured. Ulrich stepped into the shadows, keeping an eye on the situations. Ulrich waited until the Priestess of Arkay took the dead body, and the injured guard hobbled towards the guard house. Slowly, the crowd turned their attention from the Inn, which is when Ulrich slipped inside.

(Felix Veturius - A few miles east of Bruma)

The young imperial mage's feet were getting weary. Several hours must have passed since his encounter with the ogre, and he could swear he had been going in circles right now. Everything seemed the same to him. He just tried to keep track of the trees he noticed along the way in the hope to find his bearings again. "Well hello there, tree with funny-looking moss," Felix greeted the tree like an old friend. Yes, there was no doubt to it that he'd been going around in circles right now. He tried to think in what direction he went the first time he had passed the peculiar looking pine tree. Okay, so I went left here, then I guess I should go right now. He made his decision and took a turn to the right, in the back of his head, the worries were rising that he was indeed utterly lost. He looked up to see how much sunlight was left. Practically none was left for him. If only he could find some sign of civilisation though.

It was getting cold, much colder than he'd expect county Cheydinhal to be and he was still trying to find his bearings in this damn pine forest. He noticed a small clearing and a mound in the forest. He ran towards it, hoping he could find something from there. Once up there, he could see something just over the tree tops. There he saw the thick sombre snow-covered city walls. Cold, dark, and black brazier smoke arising high into the sky. The city of Bruma. "Cheydinhal! There it is! I found it!" Felix screamed with joy. He couldn't wait to get the taste of some good wine between his lips. He hurried off the mound, keeping in mind the direction in which he had seen the settlement. He wrapped his robe around himself to keep himself protected from the strangely harsh cold. Was cheydinhal this cold? He had no idea, it was rather far up north though.

Thorsten the Powerful - Jerall View Inn, Bruma

Thorsten quietly sat at the bar, sipping slowly on his goblet of Colovian Brandy. Thorsten felt that he was being watched, but he could not confirm his feeling. Thorsten kept an eye on his three guards, Aringor, Esloth and Jarhon. Wasn't it supposed to be the other way around, Thorsten thought to himself. Thorsten was shocked to see nine Imperials standing inside the Inn. One of them was an Officer, actually, now that Thorsten thought about it, the Officer from the border, followed by eight soldiers.

" I, on the behalf of The Empire requests the presence of Thorsten the Powerful immediately. Any information on Thorsten's whereabouts will be paid by the Empire," the Officer barked.

Thorsten, not thinking logically, stood up and faced the Imperials. Drawing his sword, Thorsten sarcastically asked,

" I am Thorsten the Powerful, where's my gold?"

The Officer yelled at Thorsten, and rushed his eight guards to surround Thorsten. The Officer stepped inside the ring of soldiers and said,

" What would a Jarl be doing down in Cyrodiil," the Officer asked, speaking closely into Thorsten's ear.

" My reasons for being here are no business of a traitorous, backstabbing Imperial like yourself," Thorsten replied.

Before Thorsten could react, the Officer grabbed a Steel Dagger and plunged it into Thorsten's stomach. Leaving it in, the Officer slammed Thorsten's head into the bar counter. Thorsten slid to the floor, weakened and humiliated.

" Hmm, so much for Thorsten the Powerful," the Officer sneered.

Thorsten saw Aringor with his sword ready, and Thorsten winked at Aringor. Aringor charged at one of the soldiers, killing the soldier. Amongst the confusion, Esloth and Jarhon killed two more guards. The five remaining guards turned towards the three body guards, and they began battling. Thorsten felt helpless, as he was dragged off by the Officer out of the Inn. Thorsten was greeted by a Garrison of soldiers. Thorsten was shoved into the mob of soldiers and angry pro-Imperials, who began to beat Thorsten senselessly. Thorsten felt the pain of about one-hundred feet and fists being forced into Thorsten's body. Thorsten started fighting back, knocking off person after person. Thorsten managed to escape the beating, and returned inside the Inn with his guards, who handed him a sword. Thorsten nodded, and they charged the mob. The four of them swung time after time, killing of person after person. Thorsten and his crew managed either to kill or scare off every member of that mob, leaving the four of them against the Officer, who was watching the battle from horseback.

" Fear not, I will return for you four traitors," the Officer retorted, and began riding off.

Thorsten and his men found four horses, and took off towards the Officer. They rode, slowly gaining on the Officer. They knew he was heading towards the Imperial City, which would mean Thorsten would be screwed. So they followed the Officer, slowly gaining ground.

" Jarhon, try to catch the Officer, you're the fastest rider out of all of us," Thorsten ordered.

Jarhon nodded, and chased down the Officer. Once that order was given, Jarhon tracked down the Officer faster than the Officer could react. Thorsten watched as the two lined up, Jarhon trying to slow the Officer, giving time for the rest of the team to arrive. Thorsten and the rest caught up to Jarhon, riding close to the back of the Officer's horse. The Imperial City was well in sight now, and Thorsten rode up to the left side of Jarhon's horse. Thorsten jumped on the Officer's horse, landing behind the Officer. Thorsten put the Officer in a headlock, choking the Officer as they approached the bridge into the Imperial City. Thorsten steered the Officer's horse near a cliff, and pulled the Officer off with him. The two fell, Thorsten still having a tight grip on the Officer. Thorsten adjusted his grip so the Officer's back was against the water. The two plunged in, the Officer breaking the fall. The two swam towards the shore, keeping an eye on each other. The Officer reached the shore first, and pointed his sword at Thorsten.

" You are done for," the Officer, drenched in water, yelled.

Thorsten swam up to the shore, and got out of the water. Realizing he was unarmed, he stepped back from the Officer.

" You are cornered, no where to run and hide like you always do," the Officer barked.

Thorsten ran towards the Officer and elbow-smashed him in the face, taking both Thorsten and the Officer down. The Officer tried to swing at Thorsten, but the Officer missed, hitting sand. The Officer got up, and pointed his blade at Thorsten, while standing over Thorsten.

" Your time is up," the Officer exclaimed.

Just after he said that, an arrow struck the Officer's throat. The Officer flopped to the ground like a sack of potatoes. Thorsten assessed the situation, and looked up.
Aringor stood on the bridge, with a bow in his hand. Relieved, Thorsten passed out, presumably to injuries.

Haj-Julan, "Reptile-in-Shadows" - The West Weald, Near Skingrad

Reptile has finished copying the writings on the Wayshrine, and prepares to return to Bravil. Suddenly, he hears the screeching cry of a hawk overhead. He looks up, seeing the bird dive down and circle above his head. Reptile lifts his arm, providing a perch for the bird. It lands on his arm, his thick scales proteting him from the hawk's talons. The hawk has a scroll tied to it's leg, which Reptile removes and unfurls to read.

Reptile -

Doubtless by now you've reached the Wayshrine as instructed. I am sending you to Fort Strand, near Anvil. Another Wayshrine is nearby. Your mission is not over, and in fact is just starting. Do not disappoint me, my faithful Lieutenant.

- Captain Galvanus

Reptile rereads the note, scowling silently. He thrusts his arm skyward, dislodging the hawk and sending it back to it's master. He crumples up the scroll, popping it into his mouth and chewing as he turns toward Anvil. He swallows the note as he begins his trek, heading due west.

Later, in the West Weald, near the Gold Road...

Reptile is tossed back from the force of the blow, landing heavily on his back. He quickly gets his feet underneath him, clutching his war axe and dagger tightly. The bear rises onto it's hind legs, roaring at Reptile in challenge. The arrow protruding from it's chest seems to anger it more than anything. Reptile leaps forward, stabbing with his dagger, barely breaking the skin before he rolls out of the way of the bear's claws.

He swings his axe, chopping into the bear's arm, wrenching his weapon free as quickly as he can. The bear swings it's massive paws at Reptile, but he steps back to dodge. The bear presses the attack, trundling forward and swinging several more times. Each time, Reptile steps back, the sharp claws missing him by inches. Time seems to slow for him as the last swipe connects, the claw tips leaving three long but shallow scratches across Reptile's face, stretching from his jaw to his eye. He jumps back, grateful that the bear didn't manage to hit his eye, but wincing at the sharp pain of the scratches.

Reptile leaps forward, going on the offensive. He quickly slashes and stabs with his dagger, inflicting a series of shallow but painful cuts on the bear's face and neck, hacking at the beast's forelegs with his axe. The bear rears up to escape the Argonian's painful stings, giving Reptile a shot at it's underbelly. His dagger moves quickly, cutting and impaling the bear's stomach, while his axe makes slow but heavy impacts. The bear swings it's paws, smacking Reptile in the face with a fierce backhand, knocking him off his feet and on top of a rock.

Only his training and agility prevent him from falling into the river or losing his grip on his weapons. He climbs to his feet slowly, his head ringing from the impact. The bear is right on top of him, charging forward on all fours, slamming it's shoulder into Reptile. The air is knocked from his lungs as he and the bear fall into the river below, the current picking up Reptile and dashing him against a rock. He gasps, sucking in a mouthful of water. His body pulls oxygen from the water, and he breathes deeply, recovering his breath.

The bear flounders onto a rock, gasping for air. The sudden shock of the water had surprised it, but it's massive bulk had prevented it from being swept away. It sits down, nursing it's wounds as it contemplates how to get back to shore.

Reptile doesn't give the bear a chance. Swimming through the raging river like an alligator, his powerful tail providing extra thrust, he approaches the rock from underwater, his sharp eyes allowing him to see the bear clearly. He plans his strike, waiting until the bear's back is turned and it's guard is down. When his chance arrives, he leaps from the water, taking the bear by surprise and severing the tendons on it's back legs. The bear, taken by surprise, can only cry out in pain.

Reptile leaps onto the bear's back, vaulting off and grabbing for the rock above. He manages to clambor up it's slick side, kneeling for a moment to catch his breath. The bear roars it's pain and rage up at him, but can't move due to it's injuries. Reptile sheathes his axe and dagger, pulling his bow and drawing an arrow. He fires on the bear, his arrow sinking into it's shoulder. It roars in pain, elliciting another arrow from Reptile's bow. Although the next two shots fail to slay the beast, his fifth arrow proves too much for ther massive mammal, extinguishing it's life.

Reptile stares down at the beast, making sure it stays down. Debating the merits of scavenging the body against the risks of the river (or the bear getting back up), he turns and walks away, back toward his goal. He has developed a limp, and his face and chest burn with pain from his injuries, but he presses on, not wanting to waste the precious hour of daylight remaining.

Neela-Fa, Belda (Outside)

With her tools safely concealed and the man's head bound in a cloth bag at her hip, the Argonian female made her way through the ruins, keeping an eye out for ancient traps or hidden rooms filled with treasure. She was not a kleptomaniac at heart, otherwise she would have trained to be a thief, but it was always nice to have something that was worth enough to pay for a warm bed and a hearty meal - though anything too fancy she would stash elsewhere, lest she draw attention to herself by selling a rare artifact. Merchants had silver tongues which were also considerably loose.

The sun greeted her, temporarily hindering her eyesight. It had been dark when she'd approached Belda and the light levels inside the ruin were not as bright as daylight itself. As far as she could remember, her client had told her he would be around the ruin - but not too close - at a camp just outside Cheydinhal between the hours of nine o'clock and midnight, leaving her to suspect that he was a vampire. Of course, there were other factors that could explain the arrangement, but she wanted to prepare herself for the worst. After all, just because he was his client didn't exempt him from other assassination missions. Occasionally she had been targeted via this very method and almost lost a chunk of her tail during one encounter.

Now, what to do while she waited for the light to dwindle again? She was fairly hungry, maybe a camp of her own would be a good idea. There was no point in returning to the city before setting out again, not if she wanted the guards to discover the head in the bag (or regard her bloodied appearance with scrutiny). No, there was a lake just to the north of the meeting point, and she would head there.

Lake Arrius

She sank down by the lakeside, instantly removing her boots and dipping her feet into the cool pool before her. Her hunger still persisted, but was temporarily forgotten by the sensation of cleanliness and water moving against her scales. Neela-fa removed the head and put it somewhere she could see at all times, and then proceeded to strip down to her undergarments. She waded farther into the lake until the water came up to her breasts, then submerged her shoulders. Her eyes closed for a brief moment or so, then one suddenly flitted open. Good, her belongings were still safe. She had to be wary of the caverns nearby, even if they had been cleared out years before.

Dar' Kovu jumped up from his sleep, someone was banging on the door. He grabbed his dagger and walked over to the door.

"Who's there?" He yelled through the door cautiously.

"I uhh, hear you're who to talk about... umm... taking care of... troublesome people." A voice said, just loud enough to be heard though the door.

Dar' Kovu readied the dagger and opened the door. He wasn't going to pass up work. He grabbed the mans shirt and pulled him into the room, then slammed and locked the door.

"It depends who you want me to kill, I don't kill just anyone anymore." Dar' Kovu responded, still holding the dagger firm.

"He's a slave trader from Morrowind. He is hiding in somewhere in the providence. I Don't know where that is, but a Imperial named Leonde Lioria does, he is in the Imperial city. I can meet you in Cheydinhal when you have killed him with 1500 coins." The man said.

Dar' Kovu shook hands with this mysterious civillian and said "I'll see you in Cheydinhal then." He walked over to the door and unlocked it. The man left and Dar' Kovu went back to sleep.

5 Hours Later

Dar' Kovu yawned as he got out of bed and went out to the tavern. He bought a sweetroll and ate it, without three thugs jumping him too. He walked back to his room and dressed up in his armor, as well as sheathed his sword on his side. He put his dagger in his bag. He walked out of the room, and out of the inn. He headed for the Imperial city.

He walked along the Golden Road towards The Imperial City. He passed by several merchants, travelers, and Adventurers. Dar' Kovu walked along the road, perfectly normal. He got some weird looks from the people passing him, but other than that no one bothered him as he walked along.

Thorsten the Powerful - Coast of Lake Rumore, North end

Thorsten was awoken to the sounds of his guards, attempting to awaken him. Thorsten felt a throbbing pain in his head as he struggled to stand up. Thorsten searched his thoughts for memories, but what he had just been through was lost to him.

" What the hell happened," Thorsten asked his guards, still feeling woozy.

" We damn near took out a garrison of Imperial troops, that's what bloody 'ell happened," Aringor answered.

Thorsten stood up on the beach, still feeling disoriented. Thorsten wobbled around, before he was propped up by his allies. They carried him into a wagon, and the wagon doors shut on Thorsten, leaving him trapped inside.

" Why aren't you coming along," Thorsten asked in a loud tone.

" Why would we, we were all working for the Empire. We got you now Thorsten, see you in Sovngarde," Esloth retorted.

Thorsten spit through the cage, the saliva smacking Esloth right between the eyes. Esloth wiped the spit off his face.

" Traitors like you will never go to Sovngarde," Thorsten shouted, angered at the betrayal.

The trio watched Thorsten closely as he stewed angrily in the cage. Thorsten began to think how he could have been betrayed. Was it Ulfric? Was it just them? Who was it? Either way, all Thorsten could do was sit as he was being hauled to the Imperial City Prison, where Thorsten would be left to rot. Thorsten questioned what would happen next as the wagon stopped. It was then when Thorsten realized he wasn't tied up. Thorsten readied his hands to clobber whoever opened that door. Thorsten then heard a melee outside, and then Aringor opened the door. Aringor dodged Thorsten's tackle attempt, then began to speak.

" Thorsten, we gotta get out of here. I was never a part of the plot. Esloth engineered a plan to turn you into the Imperials, for a ten thousand septim bounty. Come on, we gotta flee the city," Aringor explained, handing Thorsten a blade.

Neela-Fa, Lake Arrius

The sunlight seemed dappled upon the lake's surface, and in the shallower regions she could make out weeds and other plant life; no doubt there were fish somewhere deeper in, but far away from where the intruder bathed. The only sounds were birdsong and the movement of water, especially the latter when she stood up and liquid ran down her scaly form. If one looked closely they could make out faded lines across her stomach, lines which seemed to be her skin discoloured. She subconsciously ran a hand over one of them, staring at the shore where her things still lay. After a moment or so of thinking, she left the waters and waded back to land. At least it was warm enough for her to dry in the time it would take for her client to get to the meeting point.

----

The embers in the fire pit, reminiscent of orange glow bugs dotting the night sky, sparked a little as she added the fox's haunches. A swift, easy kill that had garnered her a decent meal; most of the creature was now gone, languishing in amongst the acids of her stomach, and the fur had been stripped to provide a more suitable pouch for the mark's head. It was nearly nightfall, but not quite time. She prodded at the last course of her dinner with the very blade she had extinguished it with, turning it.

Haj-Julan, "Reptile-in-Shadows" - The Gold Coast, Near Kvatch

Reptile runs along the road, slowing to a light jog as he catches his breath. The road splits off, with the divergant road headed to the town of Kvatch. Not needing to go to Kvatch, and not even wanting to see Kvatch (despite it's historical significance), he instead keeps going West, toward Anvil. Jut as he's about to start sprinting again, however, he notices a man up ahead. No, not a man, a Bosmer. The Wood Elf is sitting on the side of the road, staring forlornly at a rickshaw blocking the path. The rickshaw is missing it's wheels, and a few boxes are strewn about the road.

Reptile immediately draws his bow, nocking an arrow in the string, but not pulling back just yet. He approaches the Elf, scanning the area for anyone else. The Elf rises to his feet, waving happily. "Oi! You, good sir! Could you help me out? You see, I was robbed on my way to Skingrad! Bandits made off with me cargo and me horse, even took the wheels off me cart! I think I know where their camp is, too!" The Elf turns to point down the road, at a lone tree in the distance. "They're holed up near that-"

Reptile lets the arrow fly, striking the Elf in the back of the head. The force of the shot sends the Elf tumbling to the ground, dead before he can even finish talking. Reptile crouches near the Bosmer's body, snapping his neck and looting his corpse. Finding a bag of gold, a dagger, and a magical scroll, Reptile moves on, jumping over the rickshaw and continuing on his way. He knows the bandits didn't rob the Elf, and that the Elf actually works for them. An old trick, one that Reptile fell for precisely once, and never again.

Dar' Kovu - 10 miles out from the Imperial city

Dar' Kovu woke up in his makeshift camp. Hr stood up slowly and saw it was noon, he had gotten a good 10 hours of sleep. More than usual...

From here, the Imperial city was 10 miles away. Dar' Kovu grabbed his gear and hit the road. There oddly weren't many travelers passing him as he walked. After a few hours, he could see the Imperial city. He sped up to a jog to close the distance faster.

After what seemed like jogging forever, Dar' Kovu made it to the gate and walked into the city. He walked up to the nearest merchant and asked about this Leonde Lioria guy. He found out he owned a small time bar near the center of the city. It was also a popular place for Mercs to rest after a job. He thanked the Merchant and headed towards the center of the city.

While he was walking he got a lot of odd looks from civilians and guards alike. By the time he got to the bar, he had a few guards thinking they were sneaky trailing him. When they saw the Khajiit step into the bar, they backed off.

At the sight of someone in brotherhood armor step in, the patrons of the bar all had there hands on there weapons. Dar' Kovu walked over to the Imperial behind the counter. and asked "Are you Leonde Lioria?"

The man backed up a little before replying "Yes, are you here to kill me, because you will never make it out of here!" As he finished, all of the customers stood up, weapons drawn.

"No, of course not," Dar' Kovu replied in a calm cool voice "I'm looking for someone, and you know where he is."

"Who are you looking for." Leonde said nervously.

Dar' Kovu paused. He just realized he never got the name. Oh well, he would have to be less precise.

"I'm looking for a slave trader from Morrowind." Dar' Kovu spoke.

"You mean Alammu Zainte? The Dark elf? He's hiding in Cheydinhal." Leonde said, a bit more confidently.

"Thank you." Dar' Kovu replied, he tossed a pouch with 100 septims for the information and left, He was now heading for Cheydinhal. He wasn't looking forward to the journey though.

Ethan Haze
The Wilds of Skyrim

Having spent most of his time inside, Ethan didn't cope well with the cold climate of Skyrim, especially since he was located in the coldest portion of the region. He quickly made a torch his best friend as he departed the college. Not long after departing did Ethan find a dastardly horrifying sight. On the snow laden ground in front of him laid a mauled corpse in a crimson pool. He was a mage, but not a student of the college, or at least not one that Ethan was familiar with. The man, a Dunmer, was dressed in dark clothing ravaged by the liquid of death, and next to the corpse was a book. After a small examination, it was clear that the Dunmer was a necromancer. Ethan picked up the book and wiped off the red stained covers with a dry part of the cadaver's robe. It was a simple spell to raise the dead for a short time, clearly this was a novice. Then, from the cloud of powdered snow ahead came the assailant, a Snowy Sabre Cat; flesh hung from its claws and its mouth was dark red and smelled of Dark Elf.

The cat started for Ethan, and Ethan's reaction was to wave his torch. The cat did not falter, however, and it jumped at Ethan. Ethan moved back, but the cat caught him by his arm, causing him to drop the torch and extinguish the fire. Ethan's knowledge of Snowy Sabre Cats was extensive, as much of the time he spent studying at the college was about subjects such as nature and the facets of the world, rather than magic himself, hence why he wasn't as adept as the other despite having been there longer than most others. However, this particular cat was not like others. An Alpha Cat, it would not be defeated so easily. Because of this, escape was the only option, not that that would be any easier. Using Ice Magic, Ethan hardened the snow below him and slid down the slope. All there was afterwards was sea, and after that, Morrowind. Haze plunged into the water, which, luckily for him, was absent of slaughterfish. In the short time he had before the cat would notice him, he used a Temporary Invisibility scroll spell that he bought at the college. As he expected, the alpha male soon plunged into the water. However, due to its inability to smell Ethan underwater and his inability to see him as well, he eventually gave up and withdrew. Ethan though of going back to land, but then looked homeward, to Morrowind. Because he was not foolish enough to think he could swim all the way to Morrowind without getting Hypothermia or drowning, he returned to gain a boat.
