I traded an original Haunter (which evolved from Gastly that I got from DW) for another Haunter on the GTS, and after that I found that the pokemon I got was hacked. What should I do?

There's nothing you can do really. Once it's traded over the GTS it's impossible to switch back. You can release it if you want, and then I guess you could post the ID + OT here so it can be blacklisted but it's rather unlikely that more Pokemon from that person would be traded here.

Anyways, I'm just coming back into Pokemon and I was an event collector. I created .sav files of my Platinum and Pearl games via an R4 and I still have them unedited. I tried to create .pkm files out of them via Pokesav (the storage option where you save by boxes) and upload them to pokecheck.org, but every time I upload one it says invalid checksum, and I know that not all of them are hacked obviously.

I can upload my pokemon via the "gts" on my game but it takes much longer to do so and I'd rather just upload them but can't figure out why it always says they are hacked.

I guess I could try downloading legal.exe and do it that way but again idk the best way to legit-check these days anymore. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be willing to try.

I think I figured it out...

And by "invalid checksum" I mean it wouldn't even look at the pkm file I uploaded, that's just the error I got. I think my Plat. save file is bugged somehow b/c I uploaded it on Pokegen and there are only 3 pokemon in my party and all my boxes are empty somehow, so I'll have to upload the save file and try again.

Btw, I just got a 3DS (and I have my old original phat DS too) and I was wondering how can I upload my save file with a 3DS? It doesn't even recognize an R4. At least my old DS can and B/W is still able to play on those but for the future what can I do?

Umm...This isn't really my area of expertise, but I'll try giving it a shot. I believe not all storage devices work with 3DS. For example, an R4DS is not compatible with a 3DS because the R4DS has been discontinued. However, a new product like R4i 3DS should have a newer firmware allowing to be used on a 3DS.

It's a tricky thing because Nintendo releases new firmware for DS users and 3DS users that make it impossible for people with storage devices to use them on their systems. So the makers of the product usually have to scramble to release a new firmware for their devices or produce new devices all together.

Like I said before, I'm not an expert on this. The best suggestion I can make is to see if your R4 has a newer firmware you could download, or if all options fail, you may have to get a new storage device.

You should google an R4i Save Dongle. It can export DS and 3DS game saves even with a 3DS. I have one and it works wonderfully.

I traded shiny DW Poliwag for Deoxys with Munchlax11.
Checked it on pokecheck and it came up with PID does not match nature.

Is it common for the checking website to not work?
Cause im having a lot of trouble with it, It doesnt open i just get redirected to a "Sorry, we couldnt find the page" about 95% of the time I try and open it.
Managed to successfully check 1 pokemon in the last 5 or so hours because of it

Yes it has been up and down alot for the past week or so. It has been getting a lil frustrating to say the least. Usually though I just go afk for like 5-10 mins. and then I come back and its okay.

Everytime someone asks the "mods" say that its just maintenance or w/e.

If you mean "Pokecheck" , then yes

The guys (admins) are doing maintenance on the site very frequently without notices...it can be frustrating cause of the sudden un-able to access/disconnection every so often

There has been technical difficulties with the site due to the amount of cluttered pokes being uploaded (mostly trolls trying to upload some hacked pokes...) , uploading options itself , ect

One of the admins/mods quoted "We are working our best to get the site back up and running again ; if worse comes to worse , the site might close , but please take note this is considered a last resort , do not panic please , Thank you"




And yeah I hope they get it fixed soon :/ the sprite pics from pokecheck aren't showing in my shop cause it's down xD

why is everyone getting so worked up about this what you don't know can't hurt you and when you trade your legit pokemon for one that you find out is hacked you still worked for it in my opinion if you traded a decent pokemon for a hacked you earned it

I disagree. Most of our traders work hard to obtain their Pokémon, whether it be through a series of trades to get what they desire, or spend hours trying to RNG to get the results he/she wants. If it turns out that the Pokémon he/she worked hard to obtain was traded for a hack, all their effort would have meant nothing. Anyone can easily make a hack, so why should I receive a hack in return for all the work I put into my Pokémon? A hack does not have the same value as a Pokémon that was legitimately (legally) obtained.

Another fact to consider is, a hacked Pokémon may not always be competitively viable. (i.e. Mewtwo with ability Wonder Guard) Many hacks are edited badly, and thus, cannot be used in battles.

All the Pokémon I hacked with Contest Ribbons don't appear to bypass the legality check, but Egg/Park/Event Encounter is one part of circumvention for it. I can't see hacked Pokémon as more rewarding than hours, days, or even months worth of patience of getting the desired Pokémon fair and square.

if it is on 4th gen then it's a definite hack since you cannot trade between 4th and 5th gen and the event is only for 5th gen

Me and ~RNC~ recently came into contact with this:

I won't say who she got it from out of common courtesy, and I'll leave it up to ~RNC~ whether to report the owner.

Anyway, what was strange about it is that it seems to have been forcefully inserted into 5th gen. The name was ??? and the OT was ????? in game, plus it said caught at Rumination Field, all probably as a result of information meant for Gen 4 games being present in a Gen 5 Pokemon. Beware traders, shiny Mew is extremely rare, and ~RNC~ wasted a lot of good Pokes just to wind up with a hack.

Oh yeah that's a real bad hack. only mew that can be shiny is from japanese emerald's faraway island. all other shiny mews are hacks period.

Use the first post to learn more about Pokecheck. It's a website you can send your Pokemon to using the game's GTS after you change your DS's primary DNS to 091.121.021.220 in the wifi settings. Once you get your Pokemon on the Pokecheck website, you view the Pokemon, click the 'check legality analysis' button, and Pokecheck flags anything suspicious in red. Evaluate the red text and decide to toss the Pokemon or not.

It's likely the site has changed some things since the guide in the first post was made, so if you have specific problems, check Pokecheck's FAQ or ask questions here.

You can also review the glossary to better determine if a Pokemon is hacked or not. Hope this helps.
