(Hi @_@ I'm new here but I wanna try out for a character in the RP. If it's okay to make a trainer :< And if anything seems wonky, I can fix it up~ )

Name: Roy James Williams

Nickname: R.J

Age: 13

Sex: Male

Dorm: Entei Dorm

Appearance (Will add a picture when Rper isn't being a bum):

RJ is a tall and lanky 13 year old boy with a pale complexion. He has messy dark green hair that reaches down to his shoulders. His eyes are a bright sapphire blue color. Normally he wears a black t-shirt with a red symbol in the middle of his chest. Under this shirt he wears a long sleeved red shirt with black cuffs. As for pants, he wears dark navy jeans which partially cover his sneakers. On his back, he has a black and red backpack.

Personality:

RJ is a class-comedian kind of guy. Always wearing a cheeky smile on his face and always carrying a good laugh or two, RJ's one fun guy to be around. He can make sad people, or even depressed, have a laugh at his silly jokes and puns. He'll even make himself appear as a fool to make people amused. His good rounded nature also shows that he is very into team work. RJ tries to do his best in a team work-related areas by trying to think of clever ways to solve tough conflicts. His mind is always wandering around, also giving him they "day dreamer" attitude.

However, this leads to the negative side of RJ. It is super easy to distract him from the point of focus. Even the smallest of things can get this guy to look away and get amused by something completely off-topic. This also means he can be forgetful due to him not hearing the whole discussion. He also has an issue with getting involved with things that would result in him getting dirty. Crawling in tight and confined spaces makes him worry about how he's going to look when he emerges. While being placed in these predicaments, he often complains and whines about it. (But one can get him distracted easily so he'll eventually stop whining and thinking about it)

History:

RJ lives in a small house that is tucked away in a small corner of Fuchsia City. His father Wilbur is a maintenance guy for the Fuchsia City gym. Despite working in the popular gym, Wilbur is not very well-known to many of the towns-folk. He often keeps to himself and gets his job done. The only thing people do know about Wilbur is that he's a single parent taking care of three kids and his crazy mother. Also residing in the house, is Grandmother Turnip. Now no one know why she calls herself Grandma Turnip but this could be due to the fact that she's pretty crazy herself. She used to be a popular announcer for challenges and competitions, back in the day. Now she is a Pokemon Breeder, a job that is more quiet and easy to do (to her anyways). Now she lives at home, bugging the family with her insane stories. Amber, is RJ's young sister. She's pretty tough for a 5 year-old kid. She wants to become a gym leader when she gets older. So she often tries to tell RJ what to do with his Pokemon. Lastly, Nina is RJ's cousin whom was adopted by her uncle and (deceased) aunt due to her unstable home. Nina is a rough-tough and headstrong 12 year old. She keeps her cousin RJ in line by making sure he doesn't mess up. Despite her brash attitude to him, she really gets along super well with him.

RJ met his first Pokemon at the age of 8. His Grandmother is a Pokemon breeder and she entrusted an egg to him. She felt that if he wanted a pokemon so badly, he would have to make sure this egg was going to be okay. RJ was determined to show everyone that he could become a responsible trainer (when he's old enough, of course). As time went by, his egg hatched and that is how he meets Slasher. Later (Age 10) he and Slasher were walking along a wooded path and Slasher heard a faint cry. The duo ran over to see what was going on and Spooky the Spinarak was there, cornered by a bunch of Spearow. RJ had a basic idea on how to battle, and this is where he and Slasher had their first battle. Once the Spearow fled, Spooky felt that she would be safe at RJ's side. At a later time, he and his cousin were searching for berries to bring home to their grandmother. As RJ wasn't paying attention to his basket, King had snuck under him and nipped a hole in the bottom. There the berries kept falling through. After a good hour of berry picking, RJ realized that this Nidoran had been gobbling up all the berries. This angered Slasher and Slasher went out and attacked King. And this is how he met King.

At home, before RJ went to the academy; he went to a basic school. RJ was fairly popular with his class and got along great with plenty. If there was a bully, his cousin stood up for him and that was the end of that bullying. His school often had little events that showed the students the many wonders of Pokemon. Sometimes they even allowed the students to bring at least one pokemon for the day to class. One time the event was; the school invited a bunch of people to the grounds to demonstrate what possible jobs the students could strive for in the future. Nurse Joy, Officer Jenny, Pokemon breeders, a few Gym Leaders, one elite four member, and finally; a Pokemon Ranger, all showed up to this event. And that's when RJ and Nina made up their minds. A Pokemon Ranger got to do all sorts of fun stuff. And that's what RJ wanted to do. Travel the world and help Pokemon out. This was just perfect!

Pokémon: Nidoran Male
Nickname: King
Personality: King is extremely lazy, carefree, and stubborn. Being that he's lazy, King often refuses to fight in battles that RJ tries to get him in. He'll yawn and sleep right in the battle field. If RJ tries to push him too hard, he'll nip at RJ to tell him to stop bothering him.

Pokemon: Scyther
Nickname: Slasher
Personality: He's RJ's first pokemon given to him by his Grandmother. Slasher is very outgoing and ready to tackle anything in his way. Headstrong but dependable, this Scyther knows what's best for his friends. He's very determined, he won't stop until he obtains his own goal. However sometimes he tries too hard and ends up getting hurt in the end. (Over-Strain, tired, etc.)

Pokemon: Spinarak
Nickname: Spooky
Personality: Spooky is as her name says. It doesn't take much to make her spazz and get spooked by something. She's very skittish and often hides in RJ's back pack. And for some reason, she is petrified of Slasher due to his height and rough look. In battle though, Spooky tries to do her best to show that she can do just as much as the other two can! But she often fails due to her skittish nature.

Since I gather you've been chatting with Bassiroth, I'm not completely sure how much he has taken the liberty of briefing you on how things work here. Also, a little question. Not a big concern of mine right now, but how do we go about teaching our Pokemon new moves? Would we do a post or two, detailing some training? I chose some different--and less powerful--moves for my starting Pokemon, because I counted on there being some mechanic for teaching moves, and there kind of has to be, naturally. Just curious! :D

It details how Pokemon can level up, the moves they learn are according to the levels they learn them, you may also purchase TMs at Oak Town ant teach those moves.
In adittion, in case you want your Pokemon to learn a move they don't actually learn, you may ask any of the GMs and they shall decide of the Pokemon learn the move or not

@Baloth: Indeed. TMs are quite expensive. This limitation can be avoided either by being rich or by borrowing a TM from an NPC student. I like to imagine there's a club where students go to tutor and compete, and that it's a popular place to find TMs to borrow. Valorie Ryder for instance is very wealthy and has quite a handful of TMs on her person.

the TMs are based on their 5th generation counterparts. They're very expensive as well. I've actually talked about the possibility of little tournaments. I may make a character to handle something like that :p

Personality:Antonio usually doesn't talk too much , but is really calm when he does.Antonio is really smart , but can't multi task , and finds it hard to focus on 3 things at the same time.When he does something he wants to think it through fully , but that usually takes time.He is easily persuaded , but doesn't fall for a trick twice.He usually makes strategies up before battles.

History:Antonio was born in Castelia city , and lived near the gym.He enjoyed going inside to see how all the Trainers faught.One thing that really caught his eye were the status problems they caused.He was really interested that pokemon can paralyze , freeze , or even confuse other pokemon.When he was 10 he was finally able to get his own pokemon , but sadly his parents couldn't get him one.One day on his way to the gym he saw a trainer throwing a pokeball on a pokemon.That pokemon was an oddish.The trainer left the pokemon , and pokeball there saying "If your week I don't need you.".When he first went to the oddish it avoided him , and missed its trainer.He showed it to the gym leader Burgh , and Burgh told him that it would be a perfect starter for him.At first Oddish really didn't listen to anything , but with training she evolved into a vileploom at lvl 21.Vileploom started to listen to him more , and he noticed that most of her moves cause status alements.After she reached LVL 42 Antonio gave it a sun stone evolving it into bellosom.Antonio then grew up with Bellosom , and wanted to become a teacher.

Appearance: He is a dark-skinned boy with low-cut black hair that he takes great care in keeping low. He has a confident stature, standing straight and proud. He's not tall by any accounts, though he can't be considered short. The character himself dresses like he's in uniform, he always wears a white shirt and khaki pants, his shoes are (in contrast to his other attire) usually black. He wears a teal hat bill hat whenever he is outside.

Personality: Teal can best be described as a person with nothing to lose. He is more wise than intelligent. He is calm, collective, and kind. It would be a challenge to actually bother him. Though a pokemon trainer he is tactical and fierce, though he is by no means a master, and due to the relative weakness of Linoone compared to other pokemon will often lose.. He learns certain concepts properly but it can be hard for him to not go out of his way to help with every single thing. As friendly and nice as he is, Teal prefers to be generally alone and gets nervous when people talk to him (he never shows this though), he would much rather be training and can be found helping the nurse during the day. He believes himself to be completely good and that negative emotions are evil, thus he hides them. It is likely that these emotions hes bottled up will become a burden, but for now he is in control. He doesn't tell where the town he lived in is, but he does say its near Rosepetal City, and he won't even give the school his real name. Due to his history and volunteer work, he is proficient with medical aid, and can easily identify ailments, sicknesses and give most forms of first aid, he is no replacement for a doctor though.

History: As a child he was never actually named Teal, as a matter of fact he never really had a name. His parents had abandoned him after a home birth; the couple that took him in were misguided. The parents believed they could take care of a child like that, but all it lead to was fighting between them, causing them to resent Teal and ignore him. The name they had given him was a curse in the eyes of Teal, so he named himself after his favorite color. He never liked being home so he would go out and do community service, often he would help at the pokecenter or hospital. He learned a lot from the work, and it helped him realize things that he didn't understand before. All of the suffering in those hospitals, and yet people still managed to be happy made Teal learn to forgive. He began to help more and more as time went by. Then one day team rocket came to town, they began to steal pokemon from other trainers. Nobody in the town could stop them, and they got away. This was the first time he had ever experienced anger to another person, and he began to get furious. He blamed his parents, he yelled at them in frustration, but all they did was ignore him again. After that incident he went into the forest outside town. He was told by the local professor that the pokemon were docile and tame and was given a pokeball. This is where he caught his first pokemon, Linoone. Linoone helped Teal a lot, serving as a house pet and they trained whenever Teal had the chance. After Teal received his package to go to the Academy, many people in town saw this as an opportunity to get a trainer that could reclaim their stolen Pokemon. The town couldn't afford to give much, but Teal received the TMs Dig and Protect, and he was given 10,000 pokedollars.

Nickname(Optional):Vel (short for Velocity)
Personality: Vel is as kind and calm as Teal. As dedicated as Vel is to Teal, she isn't a very powerful pokemon (and Teal knows this) so teal taught her a number of moves that makes it easier to avoid or otherwise mitigate damage. Vel can sometime be distracted and curios though, and has trouble not getting in to trouble. She also has a habit of stealing anything round, or shiny, often hiding it in Teal's pack getting him in trouble.

As of Generation Five (Pokemon Black/White) TMs are unlimited use, you only have to find them or buy them.

I always thougth that you placed the CD on your Pokémon's head, the CD whirrs for a few seconds while giving off some photons and then the Pokémon takes up the photons, and thus it learns a new move.

You'd think they'd be more clear about TMs and HMs by now, but I think they're intentionally vague on the matter simply because they won't have to deal with it until fans start calling "BS" on a larger scale, but that'll never happen. It was a simple idea that I doubt is going to be given context anytime soon, other than what can be inferred from what they look like.

You can create separate pages of your PTA character, but be sure when writing your pages, you briefly state that your character is in PTA, so that way you won't confuse people.

They can still learn TM & HM moves on their own, right? Of course they would need to practice in order to fully use it & not fail.

@Baloth: Joint posts can potentially be used to increase the speed of battles. It honestly goes a lot faster if you don't use /all freaking six pokemon/ in one battle. Say one or two at a time~ Double and triple battles also go faster, and give a hilarious amount of levels because of the amount of pokemon you're fighting at once.

@Everyone: seriously though. The way I just described is the official answer. You put them into a small computer that vaguely does the teaching. I don't particularly care how exactly it does that vague part and you probably shouldn't bother either. Projecting into the mind or a video are the most sensible examples. |D

I perfectly understand double and triple battles, and not using all pokemon (we're using all *3*, though. We don't have 6...Yet...And when I do, I'd prefer to send them out 3 at a time).
