The Office's last season is apparently season 9. I dropped the show when Carrell left..

So, Affleck directs a new movie, in which he also stars in, Argo and it has been getting positive reviews. I will probably watch that when it hits the cinemas..

I'm interested in seeing Argo, I'm a bit cautious of Ben Affleck BUT the film does have Bryan Cranston in it so maybe this film will turn out to be glorious and well worth watching??????

If you ever get the chance to see the 2012 film For Love's Sake (Ai to Makoto in Japanese), you guys have to go see it as soon as possible. Adapted from this manga series from the 70s, it's essentially a Japanese musical version of Romeo and Juliet (but not a Japanese West Side Story, for those already thinking about it) that features absolutely insane songs/choreography and is gleefully violent. It's also some of the most fun I've had at a cinema in many, many years. I wouldn't call it 'good', per se, but it's amazingly entertaining for what it is. Just saw it tonight at the London Film Festival and am still giddy.

I still wanna talk about James Bond. I've been watching all the James Bond movies in order. Already watched all the Connery and the one Lazenby movies and the first with Roger Moore. It's fun to watch the evolution of the series, how Bond starts as a swaggering thug and slowly becomes more of a goofy gadget using spy. And how the Bond girls go from Bond's dumb and useless playthings into not-dumb but still useless and eventually into good characters. Craig!Bond is actually really interesting because they decided to deconstruct him and make that Bond exterior hide something more complex inside.

And I just heard about Argo and it seemed interesting (but I guess I wasn't paying too much attention to the actors ), but I've got so many other things I could/would watch and I don't know where to prioritize my money.

I think this post summarises my feelings on the different Bonds over the years.

For fall 2012, I haven't really seen anything that grabs my attention yet (based on previews and first-episode reviews), though I'll probably try Sukitte Ii na yo. and Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun tomorrow to see what they're like. There's really not that one series that has grabbed my attention this season like there was for the spring (Natsuiro Kiseki) and the summer (Tari Tari). But who knows, one of the two series I mentioned before might surprise me when I do get a chance to watch the first episode.

I've grown a huge fondness for Bryan Cranston ever since I've started watching Breaking Bad. That is such a good show I can't even. I'm half-way through Season 3 now and I cannot get enough. I can't even see him as the Dad from Malcolm in the Middle anymore. I saw an episode the other day and it just felt wrong.

Yeah, each decade of Bond tends to be reflective of its time.

The 60s brought the "classic" movies which established a genre, with thrilling, complex plots, intense action, suave charisma, and psychotic megalomaniacs who would stop at nothing.

The 70s were a more laid-back humorous set of movies, with witty quips and action that had become more about the ridiculous (moon buggy chase, top half of a double decker running into a bridge, the 360, and going into space. Most of the 70s Bond films didn't take themselves too seriously, although this is where the girls started evolving into more than playthings, such as Anya.

The 80s brought some more serious tones to the Bond franchise, and relied more on character development, great music, and exciting action than the 70s films; this, of course, excludes A View to a Kill, which is pretty bad anyway, and Octopussy to an extent. The other three were very serious and exciting, and a combination of the 60s and 90s that produced stellar results. Given the other 80s thrillers, Bond needed to keep up with the times - they did.

The 90s started with a continuation of the awesomeness in GoldenEye and brought Bond back to prosperity. However, Brosnan's next two outings didn't measure up, and Die Another Day returned to 70s levels of ridiculousness.

With Daniel Craig, they rebooted the franchise, and returned to the suave, sophisticated Bond who was just setting out on his 00 adventures. There's some dry humor, there's plenty of character development, and the girls aren't just playthings - it's really a modern action film with classic roots. Unfortunately Quantum tried to ruin it by throwing everything out the window and destroying Bond's relevance, but Skyfall promises to be a return to what made Casino Royale so amazing.

And how could a series that makes $600,000,000 per film at the worldwide box office NOT be relevant? That's less than Harry Potter, I'm aware, but $600,000,000 is still VERY relevant.

Is anyone watching K Project yet? It's only two episodes in, but it's pretty cool so far, and I'm in love with the animation and art style. I haven't been big on too many of the new series releasing lately aside from maybe Kokoro Connect and Sword Art, but K Project is pretty epic. I'm hoping I'm not the only one here following it because gosh. ;w;

I always think "omg this is going to be amazing" when they announce people for hosting gigs, but then I realise that the hosting gig is made by definition for the people to bomb. The networks put so much censorship over what they're allowed to do and pretty much all they're left with is corniness.

I have faith in these ladies, I just hope they're given the creative freedom they deserve! And more screen time than most hosts get!

Oh wow. When I saw that headline, my mind immediately jumped to 2008 and the Palin/Clinton SNL show-start skit. I still can't tell the difference between Tina Fey and Sarah Palin when they're dressed the same...

I just hope that Fey and Poehler can pull the SNL sort of shenanigans off again. They have the ability... let them use it.

As long as we can avoid the type of disaster that was Anne Hathaway and James Franco, then they can do whatever they want in my eyes.

Their opening was okay. But that's because it was pre-filmed, and I guess James Franco wasn't stoned then.

BUT, yayayay! It's about time these two hosted an awards show. I'll actually watch the golden globes for once! In my opinion, they should host the Oscar's thought, that's how good they are. ^_^

The Golden Globes are... television awards? Didn't we just have something like those? Oh, I'm so confused. Save me, Google!

That's what I was thinking at first too lol, but don't panic/go crazy/eat cookies/do anything drastic! You're thinking of the Emmy's, (those are the awards for tv) while the Golden Globes are for movies (like a mini-Oscar's?)

It's silly how there are the golden globes AND the Oscar's. Also, does anyone know if it's possible to watch the Razzies?

Doesn't appear that the Razzies are on TV. There's no results about streaming them, either. Weird, you'd think they'd have started broadcasting them online when Sandra Bullock gave her acceptance speech and admitted that she shouldn't have done said project...

Although I wouldn't have wanted to watch the last one, because it was mostly a celebration of how Adam Sandler has completely lost the edge that got him famous in the first place.

From what I know (at least, what I think I know), they're never broadcasted, but there are camera crews or whatever that take pictures of the ceremony.

I know, I love it's music. ;w; Doesn't quite compare to Guilty Crown for me, though, I didn't even watch that entire series, but I was hooked on it's music.

My favourite OST of recent times would probably be Jorm.

GC was indeed pretty high tier as well. That Bios.

They're not televised because, for the most part, the winners and nominees don't tend to turn up to collect their awards in person. Unless they're Sandra Bullock/Halle Berry:

Why was Halle moaning when she accepted the award?

Oh! Oh Ah! Oh!

I gotta be honest... I'm guessing those two only won those awards because they showed up and the Razzie crowd wanted to hear a speech. Likely because nobody takes them seriously... well nobody in Hollywood anyway. After all, they only honor the films nobody cares about, but hears about anyway.

Jack and Jill totally deserved all the hate it got... based on the commercials alone.
