I would normally complain, but IMO they're actually used somewhat correctly for once. It fits the rival who's supposed to be a jerk that would ditch his starter for one, it's surprising, and you do have normal pokes at your disposal by this time that can handle it. Sure beats hacks that throw legends at you in the very beginning of the game at least.

hmm, this hack seems good, might ttry it, but, does this hack have the original cries of the 4th and 5th gen pokemon? (ex: riolu with it's cry from d/p/pt instead of a random one)

Are shiny rates increased?
I was at Cerulean Cave and found a shiny Muk. First thing it did was use Memento, ALL MY RAGE!!
I wanted to use it on my re-match with the E4.

Spoiler:
Also, I've already caught the Creation trio and gone through Cerulean Cave, is there anything left besides e4 rematch

I had some glitches with the 1.9 beta. Some of the small sprites of my Pokemon are actually back to the regular Pokemon of the Kanto Dex, such as my Gligar being a Meowth. And when I try to click on them, the game freezes.

No. The new dex means I'd have to manually readjust everyone's team to the new level curve, and to be fair it isn't really an important item- you can level just fine killing wilds and as you go the need to match the AI's level decreases due to EV gains and better options.

No, that's the end of the hack. I'd imagine by that point most people would be sick of me, and since I can't easily predict what level you're at there (some people will go way past it, others will just strategize or spam items) there's not much point to making more content.

I'm not sure what'd be causing this. It sounds like you might be just applying the hard patch, which doesn't have any content on its own- it just disables items and removes EV gains. It's also possible you didn't apply the patch at all. I'm pretty sure that the patch actually works considering how long it's been out with nobody having this issue.

Also, it's not a beta, I just update things as the need arises. :V

I think I found a nice grinding spot: Right below the Pokémon League.

Small patch of grass.

Lots of Nidos.

Go.

The mechanics present in this hack are really awesome. But I think they are more suited to Emerald, since Emerald has the Battle Frontier which emphasizes the "competitive battling" aspect.

The Frontier is only interesting if you have a decent sized dex, and I chose to cut it down intentionally so it would be easier to balance. Even then I don't think I did a very good job, any competitive battling would probably centralize heavily around Whimsicott, Dragonite, and Aerodactyl.

(also nobody hacks emerald so the title wouldn't work :V)

I'd prefer if you didn't- there's not much in here you can't recreate with a bit of patience, experimentation, and looking at tutorials. You're free to extract the animation and battle scripts if you give credit, though.

None of lines those are in.

Also, have an update. This will probably be the last one.

Changelog:
Spoiler:
-Fixed some TM errors with Slowpoke.
-Reverted the Belue Berry back to normal.
-Made Victory Road a bit harder.
-Rock types now take less damage from special attacks during Sandstorm.
-#151 now has a shiny sprite.

I can't tell you how much fun I'm having with this hack right now. It certainly is refreshing to play Fire Red with 5th-gen features (which is what had been pulling me back from playing <5th gen games as I'm used to the new movesets and P/S split), and I think I'll be replaying this A LOT (on my phone).

Thank you for the awesome work!

edit: and the attack animations! they are simply works of astonishing art.

Nice Hack can't wait to play it! Just a question though. Can I use YAPE to check all the movesets and such? Or will it break the game? Thanks

I believe you have forgotten about this hack, but if you see this and it's not too late, I have a request.

I would lovee a .txt stating all TMs, and moveset changes.

I'm not sure which moves certain pokemon will now learn, so a list would be great

Hi, I just attempted the game and am running into a problem. The overworld looks totally out of whack, graphically. Here's a screenshot: i49.tinypic.com/2lw82gk.png

I'm using VBA 1.7.2 and v1.6 of the ips, on Windows 7. Thanks for any help!

That looks like either you patched it wrong, or you patched a corrupt ROM. Try doing it over again, and if that doesn't work download a new patch and ROM from somewhere.

I hoped so too, but he doesn't

He learns either Blaze or Hyper Cutter (total BS imo, Speed Boost would be awesome :p )

I tried Serperior and he didn't really do it for me. I found him ugly and his stats were rather unappealing.

I'm kinda stuck between Blaziken and Empoleon. I was Conkeldurr and Lucario, so with blaziken that would be 3 fighting pokémon (kinda pointless). So idk :x
