Is your save type set to 128K Flash? Set that, delete all .sav files and save states, and restart the ROM. You may also have to turn on the real-time clock in your menu options.

Welp. I made the mistake of not saving for a bit and I tried to use Fly. The game broke, I lost 3 hours of play time (12 hours sped up, like i was playing), three badges, and a combined 60 levels through my team. I'm done playing this, but you really should work on making the Map/Fly work if you ever get around to finishing this game.

It sounds to me like you've patched Pokémon Sienna on the wrong ROM version or something. Remember, it needs to be patched on FireRed English (BPRE) with the ROM version 1.0, not any later version. Otherwise it will corrupt the ROM binary data and will be unplayable. You can view the ROM's game code and version by using a program called ROM Header Editor Advanced, which can be found in this thread.

You don't need water pokemon to surf.Some pokemon with other types can aswell, but if you really want a water type just use rod if you have it and catch something like tentacool.Even nidoking/nidoqueen can learn surf!

Try a program called multipatch, it does all file types and works perfectly.

Nobody answered my question. Anyway, it's working. I am just stuck. I don't know how to go to Mekong City. I don't have a map.

EDIT - Now going for the third badge! I don't need a map, thanks to the Pokémon Center's Map. It's either the rom or the patcher's fault for the bad rom before, since the later attempts is also bad.

i download sienna and it came with the .ips file but there was also an .aps file as well. Also i downloaded skyline and it came with the .ips file and a .ups file. Can anyone explain to me the significance of an .aps or a .ups file? Thanks.

Both these IPS and UPS files are to be patched with a patcher with a clean ROM of the default ROM base. For IPS use Lunar IPS and for UPS use tsekyumi UPS patcher
