Yes, it will work. There might be some unexpected bugs if Suicune changes something critical, though...

Nah, all three will still be there regardless of your starter choice.

Just arrived in Slateport. Caught an Ampharos or whatever, and a Dratini. Been training them up to catch up with everybody else.

I didn't know you can catch Ampharos directly. Or you are saying its pre-evolutions?

I can seem to openit, everytime i tries to drag the file into the GBA, it says the file is not supported

You need to patch that file onto a Pokemon Emerald ROM using Lunar IPS. Open Lunar Ips.

In the generator cave/thing near Mauville I was able to find a wild level 40 Ampharos.

Thanks! Graveler evolves into Golem at Level 45.

Are you playing from the old beta save or started a new one?
Try leveling it up 1 more level or 2???

I've checked and it definitely is Level 45 according to YAPE.

How can I tell easily whether I'm playing the hacked version or the original? I think I patched it correctly and all, but everything seems like the original so far. I'm past the first fight with my neighbour.

You can judge it upon the Wild Pokemon for a start, i.e in the first Route you can find Pidey, Rattata, Sentret & Hoothoot, with your rival he/she will have two Pokemon as opposed to one. If nothing has changed then you have probably incorrectly patched the ROM.

i finally start playing in off 2 a good start my lvl 10 treecko sweeped may so easliy :3

and then my lvl 18 grovile did the same 2 roxanne

this just bring back some many fun memories with a challenging twist but i like more this way :D

You won't be so happy when you meet Brawly and furthur Norman. Because the game is easy looking on 1st Gym it is not later because Its Expert Emerald

Repatch your game on a clean Emerald ROM and try if it works fine as well as on the latest Beta

Make sure you're using a clean Emerald ROM, if you are then try a different Emerald ROM.
