I did that for three main reasons...The first is that I plan on putting harder trainers in there as you get more badges, and perhaps different prizes as well. The second is that it's a great place for training, and I tried my best to make it so that level grinding doesn't become a tedious chore. The third reason is so you can get multiple Eevee, in case you wanted two or more of the Eeveelutions. You won't be able to get Eevee anywhere else but the lighthouse, and it seemed unfair that you only get one (I know, you can breed them, but still.)

It's the same with me. Once I do that, I just go nowhere, everything's black and my OW kept fading over and over.

I just tried making another patch...if you download it and end up in a field, then it worked .

ok it worked, but I can't go anywhere after that place. I don't know if there is supposed to be a script or anything but there is nothing.
Some Bugs:

I had a feeling it'd be a problem like this...it seems that the patches are ignoring the expanded part, because all the problems people are having are with scripts in the expanded part being ignored...I dont know what to do about that, in all honesty, since my version of NUPS is handling it fine. I'm starting to wish I hadn't expanded it >_<

The generator room looks cool. Trust me though, Emerald is not a fun game to hack. Good luck.

Try beat then.

beat should be the best patching utility up to date. It can create patches similar to both ips and ups files (yet I haven't tested it with a file larger than 16MB --> "ups patch") along with a lot else.

It may not be the most newbie-friendly one out there but if one is gonna work, this ought to.

But since you added that it was patched with NUPS, I wonder why people used tsukuyomi... :D
I wasn't planning to reply to you earlier but as I did write in the thread, why not...

Anyway, it literally makes no difference whether you use tsukuyomi to patch an ups-file created with another ups patching utility such as NUPS. The format of the ups files created with both programs are exactly the same and that's why the programs are also called ups patching utilities. Some rom hackers who started developing patching utilities to support files bigger than 16MB planned the format of "ups files" and bang... most programs created later on have been following that same "pattern".
Ips files have also their own "pattern" or code structure. Before Lunar IPS came out, I used to use a tool called SnesTool for ips patching myself (doing exactly the same thing Lunar IPS can do but in an "easier" way).

hey just tried this out.Was very surprised to see this here and also very impressed. So I downloaded NUPS and patched it to a clean emerald rom.Normally start with the choice of a boy or a girl and a name. After that I can see my character in an entirely black room with limited move options.I was unable to do anything so I guess it is a bug or something

Thanks to the advice of miksy91, I've updated the original post to have a .bps file, instead of a UPS or APS file. I'm hoping this helps fix some of the errors people have been having with the end of the ROM getting chopped off. If you need to download Beat, you can do so here.

As always, thank you everyone for your kind words and support I never knew people my ROM would generate so much interest. You all rock!

It will be better to make it an IPS file, since it makes patching easier.

I'm really liking this hack. The patching worked just fine for me. I used NUPS I personally like it more than Tsukuyomi.

IPS doesn't support 32MB ROMs...

Pokemon Emerald is a 16MB ROM. If you use different tools other than tsukuyomi or Lunar IPS, it makes it 32MB. e-e That's why it should be an IPS file so it doesn't make us go through the trouble of patching and playing this.

I'm afraid I don't understand...IPS is still a patch, so you'd have to go through the trouble of patching either way. Lunar IPS is the most popular IPS patcher, I believe, and it doesn't accept expanded ROMs like Glazed. Unless there's some obscure 32MB IPS patcher I haven't heard, but even if that were the case, it's obscure, so people aren't likely to have it anyway.

Apply Patch, select the patch, select the ROM to patch to, specify the patched ROMs name, and you're done

I'm sorry, but there's nothing else I can do. Since it's working fine for me, I can't exactly test patches for things to work. Perchance, which emulator are you using? It seems like NO$GBA has troubles with the expanded format, and it's causing some of the symptoms that people are reporting, i.e. scripts not working...

You can also try APS (Hack Mew's patching format) so people won't have problems with UPS.
