Well Satoru Iwata said that they've always wanted to do it, they just weren't sure how.
Anyway, what was this feature I heard about? Something to make you feal like your playing with other real people? Was that a roomer or what? Serebii doesn't say nothin about it.

The letters can have specific meanings though. D=

A lot of people speculated that the letters 'X' and 'Y' could represent chromosomes, or perhaps a y-axis, and x-axis. I'm leaning more towards the former since... it can be science themed. :3

I'm leaning on the genetics thing too. I think it'd be easier to work with than the axis stuff. I don't wanna think about math anyway. XD Or maybe it's about both!

I'm kind of thinking that it could be both about chromosomes as well as width, height and depth. 'Cause if you think about it, Xernias is on the ground and seems like a deer of life going along the ground, where as Yveltal is up in the sky and can soar up and down and kind of represents an end of life vulture.

But wouldn't Z represent Yveltal if that were the case? not y? y is forward and backwar, x is left and right, and z is up and down.

I'm pretty sure Z represents depth, where as Y represents Height and X represents Width. So it's understandable that Yveltal is about Height, if we're talking about dimensions here. xD

I was thinking of things as you would in a video game, perhaps that's wrong.

One thing that worries me though...given that children play this game also, isn't there a good chance that a majority of them would not understand the storyline at all if it was based off genetics? XD

Derk, they wouldn't understand it if it was about the x and y axis either. XD

But little kids aren't going to understand the XYZ axis either, so it's a lose-lose for them.

I guess both of you guys have a point, especially if Fifth gen's theme was ying/yang, and you wouldn't expect any kid to know much about that. u_u

I don't know a lot of kids that care or cared for the plot of Pokemon games, honestly. And I think that's a beauty in these games. You don't really have to understand the plot to play them, but if you can, more power to you.

I'm leaning more towards X and Y being Axes considering these new games are on the 3DS. The Z axis would be implied.

That was my first empresion after watching the traillor. But I'm pretty sure it will be genetics. Think abou t it, they could make use of the DNA splicers if it is genetics.

It would be neat to see the DNA splicers return! Could we have more Pokemon fusions in this game?

I hope...not. I think Pokémon fusion was a silly concept worthy of fan games only. I'm not the type to hate on everything Game freak may try to do, the majority of the stuff they do is cool. But Pokémon fusion just seems weird to me. In context, though, it is fine the way it is now. But if the DNA Splicers do make a return, I shall be sad.

Maybe! I'd like if they could incorporate this into the Eeveeloutions, so you could have dual type Eeveeloutions! Actually, that would kinda ruin them haha.

Pokemon fusions certainly are...an interesting concept.

I'd personally feel better allowing this for certain Pokemon, because I'd feel uncomfortable if this were to somehow become the norm in the games. :x

Yeah, I think it would be weird if you could fuse any two Pokemon together and it became normal. That would totally ruin Pokemon, although I know Game Freak are smart enough not to.

Exactly. I wonder what the evil team will be like? And what their name is?

Something tells me that they might be just about as evil as Team Galactic, and that's really saying a lot, since Galatic had a bat-crazy leader. x_X

Yeah, I'd like it better if only certain Pokemon could be fused together like in the Digimon games for evolution requirements. They kind of have the base there with some Pokemon needing others in the team for evolution, so it would be interesting to see them take it a little further, with stats and typings.

Yeah, I'd really like to see another Dark team. Team Galactic's story was the most interesting at the time, and would like to see a team like that again.

Yes, just as evil as gollactic, but just as successful as plasma.
