...Somehow, the poetry section became very inactive. And I have decided to return to it by a random impulse. This is a thread in which I will post a compilation of a lot of poems. Be patient with me...I haven't written poetry in a while. Constructive Criticsm is greatly welcomed and appreciated, or even just a small post that says 'Hi, I was here and I read your poems.' Little things like that can keep me going.

The first poem:
Your Choice
Spoiler:

Four legs, but I walk on two

Orange skin, a bright flare

Nestled on my soft tail

Moist skin, brown shell

Blood-red eyes, glinting

I am playful

Let me drench you

Pink pod resting upon my back

Green skin, darker splotches

A gentle nature

A dark secret

You will take me

We will battle

I might drown your enemies

I might burn them

I might poison your foes

It all depends

Your choice

It answers the final question:

Who am I?

Shove

Spoiler:

I ran into a door, mom

This bruise on my forehead

Is my own doing

With one hand, he flung me into it

Into the wall, my head hits first

I cry, and he calls me pathetic

I tripped and scraped my knees, mom

The blood running down my leg

Is my own doing

All he does is trip me

I shoved him down and tried to run away

He grabbed my legs

Clawed at them

I cried for mercy, he calls me a wimp

I fell down the stairs

landed strange, mom

This cast on my arm

Is my own doing

I scream for him to get off of me

He bends my arm behind my back

We both hear the crack

I cry softer than before

He tells me to grow up

Mom, I promise I'll be more careful

I'll never be as clumsy again

I'm sure of it

The next day, I have brought it

He balls his hands into fists

I point it at him

His face pales

Power goes to me

I laugh at his pain

He is forced to be silent

(For all those wondering, in Shove, the protoganist brought a stick. With society today, I bet you guys thought he did something different. Let's get this straight: Poking a person with a stick is more effective than anything. Just thought you oughta know.)

*sigh* Why is the poetry section so inactive?
The next batch of poems:

Aunt Marianne(aka Adventures in Castelia City)
Spoiler:

Rough, pink, disgusting
It rests behind his lips
He hides quarters under it
But today, no quarters
It has a different purpose

It climbs up me
Taking a part of me with it
His teeth soon follow
As does the pain
I cry in agony
He does not stop
I am sentient
He does not care

It started when I saw her
My Aunt Marianne
Within an ice cream cart
Mistaken for a Castelia Cone
We are not Castelia Cone's
We live in Cold Storage
We taste like vanilla
But we are sentient
And that is enough to stop
To stop the terror
To stop the inhumanity
To stop most..

This boy is an exception
He wants to taste my flavor
I went in after Marianne
And the two of us were trapped
I was sold first
My life was given away
So my fate lies
Within a stomach
Be safe, Marianne
My sincerest hope
Is that you can escape

Butterfrees in my Stomach
Spoiler:

Butterfrees in my Stomach
This is it, the final bit
Of my journey; my quest
This is it, but there's this pit
Within my stomach
It hurts, it throbs
Can I still make it?

From when I was ten
I wanted this moment
From when I was ten
I was told I could beat them
From when I was ten
I have been with my team

They are loyal to me
I am loyal to them
Together, we did it
We beat them
Together, we got here
To this point
Where the last surprise
Could be fatal

I was told to face the League
Four of them, in a row
We had made it
We had suffered
But there was a catch
Nobody told me
I was unprepared

Nobody told me
There was never four
The league lied
There was one more elite
One more elite trainer
The only one left
The final obstacle
The hardest challenge

He waits beyond this door
He waits for his victim
It has been two years
It has taken two years
To get to this door
I wish I never got here

The final obstacle
Is the sole victor
The only one before me
That had beaten the four
By doing so, he became it
He became number five
He became 'Champion'
And I have entered the door

Our eyes lock
The start of a battle
His eyes twinkle
The thought of challenge
My knees shake
The fear and adrenaline
Our hands reach
Both latch onto one
A spherical shape
That is in the air
That has landed
That has opened
That has revealed

The creatures face each other
My mouth is dry
He tips his hat back
I can't yell a command
No, I have been paralyzed
Fear
It's all over

He notices and it dissipates
The heat, the adrenaline
His smile has vanished
He asks if I'll be okay
In response, I vomit
The clean, grand room
Has been dirtied
I have embarassed myself

But he just nods at me
He tells me that it is okay
And then his pokemon
His Pikachu
It loses it's offensive stance
Instead, it comes over
Rubs against me
We talk a little bit
And I realize it's not about this
I don't have to win
It's about giving it my all
To have fun with them
My friends, my pokemon

His courage spreads to me
We resume opposite sides
Our pokemon are out again
This time, I'm ready
The battle has begun

...I wonder if anybody is even reading these. Anyways, I decided to read the "Poetry Guide" in the sticky part of the poetry section and pick one. In my old poetry threads, I have never done what I have decided to half-attempt. What I am half-attempting:
THE SONNET!!! (dramatic music)
The sonnet may be the hardest form of poetry. Given I don't have that deep of a poetry vocabulary(ex. iambic perimeter, quatrain, etc.), I picked my criteria from the brief part I did understand:
-14 lines, 10 syllables each
-ABAB CDCD EFEF GG rhyme scheme
-Also, sonnets tend to have a 'philosophical idea' or message within them as the guide stated. Given that this is my first time attempting one, and that I'm only going on a half-attempt for the first try(I left out some criteria...), I will probably not have an idea too philosophical.
A final note before I begin:
If anyone is reading this, tell me the rest of teh criteria in simple terms so I can try a rewrite. I need feedback before a second attempt!

THE SONNET:
Valentine's Day, hearts in a daze today
The big dance is happening tomorrow
For chocolates and hearts, guys have to pay
With money spent, love is your wallets foe
...
Girls desire a lovely teddy bear

Some people never get asked to the dance
If not asked, their hearts shall suffer despair
Boys stare at cute girls as if in a trance
...

Hearts are broken, relationships are born
Cupid has a busy job, spreading love
Girls want a new dress, one that is not worn
Plently of matches, Cupid makes above
...

The day of the dance finally arrives
Boys currently dancing with future wives

EGAD! I attempted a crazy Sonnet and nobody responded!
I guess the poetry section is...a bit dead.
Anyways, this is the final poem I'll make without a review. What's the point of writing poems if nobody can enjoy them? If I get one comment, one just 'Hey, I was here and I like your poems,' or something, I will continue. Until then, this is my final poem for this dying thread:
Spoiler:

The End
In my older poetry, as any can see
I was obsessed with The End
Apocalypse's occuring rapidly
The poems giving them imagery

In my days of childhood
I pondered how we would end
How the world would die
In my days of adulthood
I ponder how my life will end
How I would cease

If the world ends
And you're not around
Did the world truly end

If you're not there
Not living or alive
Think this, I dare
Would you care
If we met the End
