Just a question. I've read at Bulbapedia that the Gamestop Celebi was never officially released despite reports claiming it's "Now available" on the second day of the promotion. Bulbapedia hasn't listed it to date (I actually added it today, and it may disappear again), but since it has existed and SOMEone got it - after all, it made its way into hacking circles - I felt it might be necessary to ask about it here. Therefore, is the Gamestop Celebi (2011) destined for the blacklist?

If the answer is yes, I have one in Unova that I received, but I think even the original trader didn't know its status (I thought it legit. until I read this as well). The details are: OT GAMESTP, ID No. 02271, supposedly available February 21 to March 6, and the rest is similar or identical to the WIN2011 one.

Please let me know if it's not legit. so I can seek another for the shop I plan to open.

EDIT: Further research and inquisition reveals it was inexplicably switched with the WIN2011 at the last second, explaining why the WIN2011 has two different distribution periods for it. However, the GAMESTP Celebi had leaked before the promotion ever took place and before the switch, which is why it's making the rounds.

The Celebi is technically legitimate. It is a copy that was not meant for mass distribution, but nonetheless it was still distributed to a select few. Honestly, I don't see a problem with it being traded. If you wish to continue trading it, I would suggest informing the recipient about Celebi's background before trading and letting him/her make their own decision with regards to it.

Celebi's not hacked. Just some store managers who got trigger happy.

Okay heres my question. I got a shiny mew back in Either crystal or Saphire I don't remember. I got it from a friend. I then traded it to my emerald and when i was 10 cloned a bunch. If I traded a few to my black then put them on the GTS is that legal? I do not know if they are hacked heres thier info.

Pretty much 99.99% of Shiny Mews are illegal. The only legal ones are from a Japanese game and that's definitely not Japanese. The one you posted is hacked.

And the rare candy thing is fine.

That would count as a hacked Pokemon, so simply put, no, you cannot.

I need help in hack checking event pokémon - with ribbons. They cannot be sent to the fakegts (pokécheck) so I don't know if they're legit or hacks. How do you guys hack check your events?

Those of that have means have checking events use either a flash cart or another device to export pkm files from their game saves. If you need someone to check your events, try asking around in Quick Trade Thread or #TradeCorner chat room with the ability to do so.

It says "Secret ID is 0 but ID is from known in-game trade/event.", what does that mean?
I got it on 4th Gen from a trade, but transferred it to 5th Gen.

It means it's from an in-game trade. Like where you trade Petilil for Cottonee in Gen 5... or some sort of in-game event. No SID, but valid.

I also have a question, I received a two Ageto Celebis and a Colosseum Pikachu in a trade last night. When I uploaded them to Pokecheck, everything looked fine, until I noticed that the nickname flag read "Yes" even though they were no nicknamed. Could someone tell me why this is? Or are they just fake altogether?

I can't see the legality analysis, but having no SID is consistent with the WISHMKR Jirachi.

Actually it does have an SID. It just happens to be 00000.

XD Poké Spot Pokémon all have unknown GBA PID, as the IVs have no relation to PID with them (as far as I know).

IV spreads are always determined my PID as far as I'm concerned, PID method may not be known however (like PCNY events).

I figured as much as well, however the reason for the anomaly isn't a lack of research into the RNG and the subroutines that create PID/IVs (as I originally assumed).

A while back someone who certainly knew their stuff about RNGing said "It can't be added since PID is separate from IVs." and a few days later "PID is independant of IVs...", so unless I'm misinterpreting that, it's how I stated beforehand (in direct contradiction of every other Gen III/IV method).

The PID is independent of IVs in Generation V, not III or IV.
