Hey homeys, just wonderng somethng.
So, I create a new item n one of tha blanks spots. Specifically between Stick "0xE1" and Red Sridef "0xFE"
Than, I make an NPC give tha item wit giveitem. But nothng happens.
If anyone can help explan why dis is, it would be bootyliciously appreciated.

Dis whole thng is just an assumption coz I don't know if tha structure really is like that. But you can easily check it out wit a hex editar by lookng fo tha move learnng data of a certan pokemon.

Edit: Okay, that did not work out tha way I assumed it would. I'm usng tha Pokémon Editar n 0xRH's GBA Pokémon Gbee Editar ta add new moves ta mah newly created pokémon. It now only has Tackle, by default, and I can't figure out how ta add new ones. Does anybody know how ta do that ?

I tried that and it still isn't workng... I also went ta some of tha orignal hoodz (Shawtyycove City, ect) and tha nbee doesn't show up thare, eithar.

I'm just gong ta gong ta tell you how ta expand movesets n PGE. Tha only problem wit dis is that all old moves will be deleted so you will have ta rensert tham.

I shall assume you have tha move editar tab of P.E. open.

1. Click "Nsert Attacks at Offset".

2. Type n tha address of some free space (use FSF and just search fo 1000 bytes, well more than enough). Copy tha address nta a notepad or such as we will we need it later.

3. Type n tha number of attacks you want yo Pokémon ta learn. (N decimal)

4. Click nsert.

5. Now paste tha address we saved earlier nta tha box labeled "Level-up Attack Ponter" and click "repont". Save tha orignal address, you may want it later.

6. Now you have a brand new *clean* moveset that you can edit however you wish. If you want tha old moveset n thare coz it sucks enterng tham all n agan, you will have ta copy it from tha old location and paste it over tha new location n a hex editar.

7. Ta do that, open HxD and go ta tha orignal address of tha level-up attack ponter.

[miksy91: yo guess on how moves is stared was an educated one... but wrong:/. That is how most thugz would thnk thay is stared, mahself ncluded, but thay is actually squished nta 2 bytes by some fomula nstead of 3. I'm tryng ta figure out tha fomula right now... But it is weird....]

8. Fnd out tha orgnal number of attacks by some means, multiply that by two, and select that dawgy bytes.

9. Copy and paste-WRITE ta our new level-up attack ponter that we found usng FSF.

Done!

Edit: I figured out tha fomula!

Okay, fo moves that is numbered 255 and below, thay is stared [move number] [level x 2].

Fo moves above 255, thay is stared [move number - 255] [level x 2 + 1]

So, as you can see, if tha level byte is odd, it knows ta read from tha set of moves above 255 and if it is even, it reads from tha set of moves below 255. Quite tha thought that went nta dis one!

Back wit yet anothar question. I've been readng tha tutarials on makng a world map and importng it nta mah gbee. However, it seems... really complicated when it comes ta importng it and such... Is thare an easier way ta explan what I need ta do?

Can we see tha script as it is compiled n gbee?

Also, is yo bag full? Witout a special check ta see if it is, tha gbee will just skip that comdawgd if it is ndeed full, and won't sez a thng.

Tha only problems I can see:

1. You is usng flags over 900. Won't cause a crash, but will cause bad eggs and broken vars as thay overwrite pc and var RBE space.

2. Yo multichoice box isn't usng prepismsg. Dis comdawgd will be used around it n XSE. I don't know if it is tha sbee n Pokescript, but it may be. I noticed you used msgbox2, is that tha sbee? Also, shouldn't thare be a message attached ta that comdawgd: {i.e. msgbox2 $msgfochoice} ?

Hope you can git dis right, it looks like a fun script!

Yeah, lookng at tha pattern like that, it doesn't make much sense. But even so, thare is some rational solution ta why Gbeefreak wanted ta progrbe tha move learnng pattern like that, and I believe that is tha fact that Gen III gbees won't allow tha level of tha encountered pokemon ben higher than 127 (or "100").

Dis leaves tha highest bit of tha level value unused which can be used as part of tha move learnng routne. Now nstead of 8 bits, 9 bits can be used ta describe each move, by usng tha highest bit of tha level value as one. Dis knd of a method allows 512 moves ta be stared n tha gbee.

But you're right bout tha fact that tha pattern doesn't look that user-friendly. But tha fact is that it doesn't have ta, not while ben viewed wit a hex editar. Coz tha orignal gbees were progrbemed by creatng a disassembly, a "text document" holdng all tha n-gbee data that could be compiled nta a rom file usng an asm compiler (unless thay simply wrote tha gbee usng a real progrbemng language, can't really tell). Dis knd of a gbee developng method leaves more possibilities nta actual gbee developng, witout havng ta pay attention ta all existng structures so much.

Well if you’ve read through tha rest of dis a lot of dis should be self explanatary by now.

msgbox2 is a comdawgd that needs ta be added ta tha comdawgds file n Pokescript fo dis script ta work. #raw 66 has ta be thare ta allow dis comdawgd ta work. Snce tha site won’t allow me ta upload dis file, you’ll have ta add it yoself.

multi 0xE 0×0 0x1E 0×0 0xE 0×0 is tha X/Y coordnates on tha screen. Thase is tha tap left hand corner. 0x1E is tha tha actual box chosen. Tha multi comdawgd doesn’t actually create a box but merely displays an already existng box nbuilt nta tha rom. i.e. tha Gbee Corner cons, Drnk machne. I’m not 100% sure of tha pont of tha fnal numbersbut I assume its a filler ta prevent tha gbee from freezng.
Tha beount of compiss is based on tha beount of options n tha box. Thase is unchangeable unless you of course re-pont tha data of tha multi box ta an empty space and create new text.
Tha next part is pretty basic. If you don’t understand it, it should be explaned earlier on. compis 0×8000 0x7F is tha only real important part of tha followng lnes. Tha 0x7F displays that you can cancel by pressng tha B buttan. If dis isn’t thare, you will only be able ta quit tha box by choosng an option.
And anothar important part is that tha ‘option’s’ don’t work unless tha set-vizzlear is thare. I don’t know why.
You must have fogotsten ta add tha comdawgd ta tha database and/or you should try tha #raw 66.

I would suggest switchng ta XSE as more thugz will be able ta help you, but whatever you do, don't throw n tha tawel.

And here we go agan I created 2 new Pokémon, wit movesets, stats and everythng else needed. N P.E. I configured tha evolution (Level 6, fo testng purposes).

Mah Basic Fom reaches Level 6, tha Evolution starts.... but aborts tha exact moment I aborts normally when you press B. However, I did not press B. So what on earth is gong on here?

Is dis tha problem where FireRed prevents non-kanta pokemon from evolvng? Thair ID number has ta be less than 151 fo it ta evolve or you have ta spheal tha routne. Knizz, Jbebo, or someone posted bout it recently....

Not n Red:p. Thay only evolve normally after you beat tha elite four. Try and fnd that post, I believe it is n R&bep;D.

Gizoogle is mah friend :D Like you said, n FR/LG, Pokémon after 151 don't evolve. Tha solution is quite obvious, now that I thnk of it...
It's called National Dex! I simply put "special 0x16F" (which activates tha national dex) n tha script where Oak gives you tha pokédex, so you receive tha normal one and tha national one at tha sbee time, and boom, mah Pokémon evolves :D

You're welcome, haha, but thare is a better way. That way works, but than you don't git a regional dex. It is possible ta disable that evolution problem witout givng tha national dex, but do it whatever way you want, just as long as it works fo you:D.
