Probably going to go for Les Mis first. I tried the book but it was far too draggy so hopefully the toon is better.

That's enough cheap game buying for now.
I'll go listen to an audiobook or something.

I should watch more Western-novel based adaptations.

But it reminds me too much of the Anime I used to watch back in the '90s

Doesn't sound like a bad thing to me, 90s anime was awesome.

I agree, the 90s were a golden age for anime (as well as the later 80s and early 00s). However, they were also the age for things like Garzey's Wing /Shudder

There was less of it, too. The cliches back then weren't as ostentatious and...well...cliche as they are now. There wasn't as much to base a cliche off of back then. Heck, anime has practically exploded since the 90s (though the 90s were really the beginning of this, really), and it's because of that that we see so much blending between them.

It depends on the anime in question. I certainly think there's more crap now than there was back then. Or at least more popular crap. Or both. And WAY more generic stuffz.

EDIT: I mean, there was a lot of Smaller Company/Independent stuff that was made back then, and that stuff was generally bad, but the stuff that...well...wasn't (in other words, stuff made by at least moderately sized studios/producers) were more or less good more often than they are today, where so many anime are done by larger companies.

One of us is too drunk because I don't have a clue what you just said, I'm only a little bit drunk btw

Back then the same anime was made over and over again, exactly the same as today. Just back then it happened to be a show about robots blowing up in space whereas now it's Azumanga clones.

Also going back to "but now all you see is hentai,Echhi and yaoi\Yuri...D I R T Y and very shallow stories also".....there is nothing right about that statement at all.

I guess my points aren't making themselves across.

There is always loads of rubbish and the odd gem. There will always be trends, which after a short while become full of cliche. 'tis just the way entertainment is. Films. Music. Everything is the same.

Yup, I agree. That always seems to be the case, entertainment is static in that sense. Static but growing.

This is just my suggestion, but I recommend watching it dubbed if you have the option. The YYH dub is great partially for the actors (who are just amazing in their roles) but mostly in its writing.

Just checked, only has Jap audio I'm afraid.

A quick glance over the main seiyuu leads me to believe I'll like that part of it anyway. From LOGH to Orguss, I like those voices.

104 Nintendo's E3 Conference beings in an hour and something. Wonder if they'll show anything XY related. The thing I'm looking forward to the most, however, is the WiiU Zelda title (not meaning WWHD or ALttP2(even though that's 3DS). And I hope they'll disclose some characters of the SSB4 roster. My vote goes to Chrom~ I wonder if Marth is going to be playable again... I mean, none of his games are getting a game in the (near) future.

To think I became a FE fan through SSBB and Marth. :'D

105.@Lapras...before watching YYH have you watched HXH?? same Togashi work but better...at least IMO

also, the 90s anime had totally different stories...take a look at what's shown now,you will feel that stories are repeating again and again..similar stories with different characters...the more we get after 2007s anime the more i hate it tbh...Japanese people now seems to prefer nudity more...Arrow watching anime,Arrow began to like it..*Fooosh* wild nude appears..Oh God! *Arrow goes throw up* Canceled ...most of time this is what happens now..........i don't really throw up but i could swear i feel sick in stomach lol

The kind of anime you see depends on where you're looking.

WiiU Zelda sounds awesome! I hope it'll be something like Twilight Princess setting-wise!

@Pokey: I hope it's in the trend of the WiiU Zelda "trailer" which depicted the fight between Link and Armogohma from TP. High quality graphics, man.

Arrow, it really depends on where you look. I have a bunch of anime that are not pr0n.
If you're into Japanese folklore, may I suggest Natsume Yuujinchou? Seirei no Moribito, D.Gray-man, D.N. Angel, Chihayafuru, Hakuouki, Kamisama Hajimemashi-ta, Princess Tutu, Shounen Onmyouji, Tales of Symphonia... There are plenty of post-2000 anime which are quality without constantly bombarding its viewers with unnecessary fanservice.
