Simple Questions & Answers
Ask simple questions related to any form of battling or team building (e.g. help with a single Pokémon's set). More complex questions that could spark discussion may be better suited as separate threads (e.g. help with more than one Pokémon). If you are unsure, submit an individual thread and the staff will check it.

Try Wood Hammer/Earthquake/Stone Edge/Stealth Rock if you want to use it in competitive battling. For in-game, use Crunch instead of Stealth Rock.

I am considering with my weather tank politoad team sap sipper Girafarig with a Skill Swap and have it swap abilities with politoad. Was wondering if that a decent Idea?

Singles or doubles? Bad idea either way. Girafarig is NU and can't withstand the assaults in OU and in doubles it's just not bulky or strong enough to do much of anything. It's also a waste of a moveslot for Girafarig. Anyhow, Politoed already sets rain once it's out. Why bother having Girafarig have Drizzle when the effect only takes place upon being sent onto the field?

Well the point wouldve been to have it skill swap sap sipper with drizzle, then have a DW Goldeen with Lightning Rod, but seeing that Seaking just has terrible stats overall it just didnt seem viable with it.

If you're hoping to make Golden/Seaking/Girafarig even somewhat viable in OU, you should probably stop there because regardless of the ability, their stats don't hold water (...ouch) to anything in the Overused tier which is why they aren't Overused in the first place.

Have you considered Ferrothorn? It's a pretty common rain team wall for good reason and it's biggest weakness (fire) is weakened by the rain. It at least deserves some consideration.

Not quite sure what you are asking, but OU doesn't have too many electric types to choose from, but both Jolteon and Thundurus-T are great choices and both are immune to electric moves themselves.

Thats a sound idea actually and can drop its speed down to deal with TR teams

Well Thundurus-T and Jolteon don't have Lightning Rod as an ability, but they do have Volt Absorb which means they can switch in and take electric hits and restore HP. Also both can deal off a very powerful Thunder with perfect accuracy on a rain team.

While Manectric may not be OU, it has the Lightningrod ability to help against Electric Pokemon. It also has the power and Speed to pose an offensive threat, though Overheat/Flamethrower will be weakened in rain teams.

Is cradlily really viable in NU? I've tried him a couple times and he seems to be really good. I get 3 stacks of stockpile, recovering if i have to, and just recover while my rock helm does my work for me. I also use my hidden move when I know I can get recover to go off next turn.

Moveset, etc:
[spoiler]Cradily) @ Rocky Helmet
Trait: Suction Cups
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Toxic
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Recover
- Stockpile[/spoiler

Cradily indeed is viable in NU, even if there's no auto sand setters there. You're just using Cradily the wrong way. Stockpile just makes it a critical hit magnet. It's better off as a team supporter or as a bulky attacker:
-Stealth Rock
-Giga Drain
-Rock Slide/Toxic
-Recover
Nature: Relaxed/Bold
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain

or
-Curse
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Rock Slide/Seed Bomb
Nature: Careful
EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 SDef
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Suction Cups

Additionally, if you're looking for straight up offense, you can go with SD Cradily. It's certainly not what Cradily's niche is, but it's nice for the surprise factor, despite being incredibly slow and easy to counter; its STAB doesn't make it easy to check, though, for the most part, apart from things like Eviolite Roselia.

Cradily @ Leftovers
Adamant
252 HP/252 Atk/4 Def
Swords Dance
Stone Edge / Seed Bomb
Earthquake
Recover

Would you recommend that same set for a Rain team Zapdos? I meant to put Team instead of Dance -_-. Fail

If you have a backup Rain Dancer, replace Rain Dance with Heat Wave. Even though Heat Wave is weakened in the rain, it helps to deal with Ferrothorn.

Charti or Yache Berry works. Use Damp Rock if you're using Rain Dance.

I guess this is a basic rain team that cant seem to do what Intend it to do which is power up Gastro a couple of turns while maintaining the rain advantage. Thats why I have a weather tank politoad.

Politoed (F) @ Wacan Berry
Trait: Drizzle
Level: 71
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 HP
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Encore
- Protect

Gastrodon (M) @ Rindo Berry
Trait: Storm Drain
Level: 64
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Recover
- Stockpile

Kingdra (F) @ Dragon Gem
Trait: Swift Swim
Level: 71
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Ice Beam
- Dragon Pulse
- Surf
- Protect

Kingdra is my muscle and my clean up hitter. Its presumed that Gastro will at least have a +1 Sp. Atk. Have Kingdra boost another level or two depending on the opponent. I use dragon gem when in a bigger bind or going for the KO blow. I try not using it unless its really necessary.

Zapdos @ Yache Berry
Trait: Pressure
Level: 86
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Thunder
- Heat Wave
- Protect
- Tailwind

Seemingly the soul propose for him is Thunder and taking out as many pokes as possible. I wind up not using tailwind even tho I had intended to use him to give boosts for non swim swift pokes, However 4 of the 6 have dreadful speed so tailwind would be pointless. Its HP is Dark so that wouldnt be happening giving it Hidden power

Toxicroak (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Dry Skin
Level: 57
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Sucker Punch
- Taunt
- Protect

Originally He was used for taking Surf attacks. It wouldnt hurt him at all and he would recover, but it is soo frail and slower then Ideal just seems to be a liability then being useful. So probably wont keep him but want to know who I can replace him with.

Metagross @ Occa Berry
Trait: Clear Body
Level: 55
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Protect

This one is used for bulk but a lot of strength. Seems like this guy should be in a TR then a rain team so not sure if its useful for this team

Stockpile is useless in a VGC environment IMO. The game is way too fast paced to boost up your stats and Gastrodon may be KOed before it even gets a Stockpile up. Use Toxic or Earth Power instead, the former for crippling walls/support and the latter as a secondary STAB.

No need for max Speed on Zapdos; it can use a spread of 140 HP/252 SAtk/116 Spe to outspeed Adamant Mamoswine and max Speed Metagross before Tailwind.

Fake Out is worth considering on Toxicroak as it gets a free hit in and prevents opposing set up temporarily.

Also, this is good enough to be its own thread; Wolflare just has to approve it before it becomes visible.

Can someone give me some suggestions for some support Pokemon? In game ive never delt with them much so i really have no clue about support pokemon.

And is there any real effective way to IV train without wanting to blow your brains out?

And do "tiers" actualy mean anything? aside from uber being generaly banned from standard battles , do tournys of these other "tiers happen?
