Last time I updated my platinum ultimate water monotype...

Badges:
2/8

Team:
Bibarel l21
Prinplup l22
Shellos l23
Tails l24 (Buizel)
Psyduck l21
Magikarp l7

I've been playing a lot lately, but haven't bothered to update.
I have 5 badges now. I thought the Ghost Gym was easy peasy. So was the fighting one, although that was a little harder. The water badge was the toughest of the three, but still not hard.
Been planting berries, training my pokés, exploring, digging, doing contests (this is acutally the first playthrough on Platinum xD)

My pokémon right now are:
Gyarados L28
Vaporeon L29
Gastrodon L33
Prinplup L32 (might ditch him, ugh, worst water starter ever)
Tails L28 (Floatzel)
Golduck L33 (might ditch him too for some other water poké with Psychic moves)

Badges: 5/8

FireRed Ground Mono Update:

I'm still grinding up my team. After looking over my team's movepool and what TM's I have, I went ahead and gave some of them some better sets so they're more versatile in battle. I've grinded quite a bit. Tried going up against the E4 a couple of times knowing I wouldn't completely get through them but I figured my Pokemon could use some better experience. I managed to get as far as Agatha and that's where I realized my movepool may need more work. I will continue to train up.

My team is looking much better!
Rain/Nidoqueen|Lv. 56
Suna/Sandshrew|Lv. 57
Mr. Nido/Nidoking|Lv. 59
Hokura/Dugtrio|Lv. 57
Alleine/Marowak|Lv. 56
Rocky/Rhydon|Lv. 57

I'm going to go ahead and get started on my Emerald run. I'm getting a bit bored and burnt out with grinding. I'm skipping over HeartGold for now since I'm already playing SoulSilver in my First-Badge Challenge at the moment and I don't want to get too overloaded with Johto-ness.

Picking Mudkip as my starter.

Hacks are allowed, and any Pokemon that you are able to catch within the confines of the hack are allowed.

Yes you can, but it would count as a hack.

This doesn't break any rules. There is no restrictions on what order you play in.

Emerald Ground Mono Update:

Well thanks to the speed up feature on the emulator I was able to get through a pretty fair chunk of the game already today. I've already beaten Norman and I'm on my way to Fortree City.

- Picked Mudkip as my starter, nicknamed him Kibbles
- Ran solo with him through the first three gyms and finally caught myself a Numel, nicknamed her Lady Lumps
- Got through all the Team Magma vs. Team Aqua stuff on Mt. Chimney and defeated Flannery
- Finally got the Go-Go Goggles and caught a Trapinch which I named Jetta and a Baltoy which I named Clay on Route 111
- Went back to Petalburg City to defeat Dad Norman so I could get Surf
- Got myself a Good Rod from the Fisher on route 118, went back to Route 111 and caught myself a Barboach which I named Whimsie
- Now I shall venture all over the country side and level up my lower three Pokemon and get them caught up with Kibbles and Lady Lumps.

Johto halfway through just gotta do kanto now

Spoiler:
Rocket Executive was a pain cuz of damn houndoom but thankfully i was able to take most of its health with strength from pinsir and quick attack from scizor finished the job
Clair was a little tough but nothing i couldnt handle her dragonairs went down after enough sleeping and chipping away then her kingdra was cake with fluttershy
Went east of new bark, didnt realise Slave Krabby couldnt learn waterfall
went back to olivine, caught Mantine Slave, taught all 3 water HMs
got to route after tohjo and got TM solarbeam gave to fluttershy right away
the trainers were quite tough i felt i was underlevelled slightly but i pressed onwards
got through victory road and beat Silver one last time
grinded like crazy to 40s (lowest 42 ariados and highest 45 scizor)

VS Will
Trixie took down xatu #1 with low health then brought in scizor on Xatu #2 set up 2 swords dances and went to town (6-0)
VS Koga
Ariados was a bit of a ninja with double team and passed em onto his venomoth thankfully the hax was with me today and 2x psybeams later my venomoth reigned supreme then scizor did a repeat performance (6-0)

VS Bruno
Sent in fluttershy excpecting an onix instead met a hitmontop but a couple of psybeams later killed it stayed in against the onix put it to sleep and OHKO with solarbeam switched out to Trixie and sleep powder + psybeam later his team is down (6-0)

VS Karen
Oh god this was tough
her umbreon was fine +2 Submission from pinsir OHKOd but then came the big problem
Houndoom
The thing swept my entire team down to ledian just as i was ready to reset i decided to say screw it and launch a thunderpunch
Ledian lived flamethrower with 17 HP
Thunderpunch paralysed the houndoom
with that small glimmer of hope i revived pinsir and he got parahaxed (not that it mattered) and a headbutt followed by pursuit killed me (1-4)
Pinsir killed the houndoom and healed up before reviving venomoth and killing vileplume venomoth came in against gengar and psybeamed to death before pinsir picked up the win with a couple of strengths on Murkrow
(2-0)

VS lance
Gyarados was a sleep + chip away match with Fluttershy
Dragonite #1 was fine with scizor and a couple of boosts (trying the same Set up sweep tactic)
didnt work cuz i forgot charizard but fired off a quick attack and took a chunk off it before dieing
scared of that thing so i threw in ledian to take a flamethrower except he stupidly used hyper beam allowing ledian to kill with headbutt
sent in venomoth VS aerodactyl sleep powder + psybeams later killed it (i also healed ledian to full health)
Venomoth took a chunk off dragonite #2 before dieing and ledian came in and finished with ice punch
last was Dragonite #3 (the level 50 one) ledian took a fire blast and hit for about 60% with ice punch then ninjadodged a second one and killed it (who said ledian sucks?)

Team After E4 heading to kanto

Spoiler:

Fluttershy (butterfree) LV 44
Psybeam
Sleep Powder
Gust
Solarbeam

Dickpinch (Pinsir) LV 43
Strength
Vicegrip
Submission
Swords Dance

Trixie (Venomoth) LV 44
Psybeam
Leech Life
Gust
Sleep Powder

Tyson (Ledian) LV 46
Ice Punch
Thunderpunch
Headbutt
Swift

Peter (Ariados) LV 43
Poison Sting
Leech Life
Night Shade
Fury Swipes

Sasuke (Scizor) LV 47
Metal Claw
Strength
Swords Dance
Quick Attack

Tekan either volbeat or shedinja
shedinja can be a force to be reckoned with if you play it right but it's still the definition of glass cannon
while volbeat has horrible horrible stats and its movepool isnt that great either

Ruby Ground Monotype, Update #4

Spoiler:

-Continued battling trainers on Route 120.
-Finley grew to Level 36 and evolved into Swampert.
-Beat the trainers on Route 121.
-Arrived in Lilycove City.
-Beat Brendan one last time, he was nothing of significance.
-Checked out the Department Store, got some Lemonades and TMs.
-Confronted Team Magma at Mt. Pyre, but Maxie stole the Blue Orb.
-Since I didn't have anyone with Fly, I walked all the way back to Slateport City, where they stole Captain Stern's submarine.
-Caught a Wingull named Derp II and taught it Fly, then went back to Lilycove.
-Went through the Magma Hideout, beating the pathetic grunts, but they stole the submarine.
-Dustshoot grew to Level 41, learned Dig and evolved into Vibrava.
-Arrived in Mossdeep City.
-Battled some of the trainers in the surrounding water routes.
-Top Hat grew to Level 36 and evolved into Claydol.
-Trained everyone up (ugh, training sucks in this game, thankfully i'm on an emulator with turbo speed access).
-Beat all the trainers in the Mossdeep Gym.
-Challenged the Gym Leaders, Tate and Liza!

Mossdeep Gym overview:
Team entering the fight: Top Hat LV41 / Lax Incense - Psybeam, Rock Tomb, Shadow Ball, Selfdestruct
Finley LV41 / Mystic Water - Surf, Muddy Water, Ice Beam, Mud Shot
Dustshoot LV41 - Crunch, Dig, Screech, Fly
Caldera LV40 - Magnitude, Earthquake, Flamethrower, Rock Slide
Jigs LV40 - Magnitude, Rock Throw, Tackle, Selfdestruct

They send Lunatone and Solrock while I open with Top Hat and Finley. Top Hat uses Shadow Ball on Lunatone, which does less than half, but gets the Special Defense drop, though Lunatone uses Calm Mind to undo that. Lunatone: 55% or so HP and +1 Sp Atk. Solrock uses Sunny Day, so Surf doesn't do much at all. Lunatone: 38% or so HP and +1 Sp Atk, Solrock: 3/4 or so HP. Well, SolarBeam is probably coming, so I switch out Finley for Dustshoot and use Shadow Ball on Lunatone, which kills it. Dustshoot grows to Level 42 after that.
Now it's just Solrock left. Solrock uses Psychic on Dustshoot, which does more than half and gets the Special Defense drop. Dustshoot: 44/103 HP and -1 Sp Def. I switch Dustshoot out for Caldera as Top Hat uses Shadow Ball on Solrock for what looks like enough to kill them next turn, but Solrock uses Flamethrower on Top Hat and gets a critical hit, which does over half. Solrock: 38% or so HP, Top Hat: 49/113 HP. Top Hat uses Shadow Ball and finishes off Solrock, ending the battle.
Not much to this battle. Seems Top Hat isn't as weak offensively as I thought.

-Caught a Wailmer named Blooper to teach HMs.
-Went down to the Seafloor Cavern.
-Was confronted by Team Magma's leader, Maxie.

Maxie overview:
Team entering the fight: Caldera LV40 / Amulet Coin - Magnitude, Earthquake, Flamethrower, Rock Slide
Top Hat LV41 / Lax Incense - Psybeam, Rock Tomb, Shadow Ball, Selfdestruct
Finley LV41 / Mystic Water - Surf, Muddy Water, Ice Beam, Mud Shot
Dustshoot LV41 - Crunch, Dig, Screech, Fly
Jigs LV40 - Magnitude, Rock Throw, Tackle, Selfdestruct

He starts off with Mightyena while I open with Caldera, who gets Intimidated. Me: Full health and -1 Attack. He uses Take Down, while I go for Flamethrower, which gets a critical hit and kills him. Nice! Caldera grows to Level 41 after that. Me: 72/111 HP and -1 Attack.
Next up is his own Camerupt. I'm faster and hit him with Earthquake, but he lives and kills me with his. I bring in Finley, and he uses his Super Potion but it doesn't matter because I kill him with Surf.
Finally is his Crobat. He uses Confuse Ray, but I hit through confusion and use Ice Beam, which gets another critical hit and kills him in one hit. Finley grows to Level 42 after that.
Critical hits for the win. And hitting through confusion, too. But these battles usually aren't climactic at all, so yeah.

-Groudon was awoken from the Blue Orb, and I was told from Steven to go to Sootopolis City.
-Arrived in Sootopolis City.
-Was guided to the Cave of Origin by Steven and Wallace.
-Obtained HM07 for Waterfall.
-Beat Groudon after a few Psybeams from Top Hat.
-Went back to the Safari Zone and caught a Phanpy named Trunked.
-Went to the Sootopolis Gym and battled all the trainers there.
-Trunked evolved into Donphan, and I used two Rare Candies to get Dustshoot to evolve into Flygon.
-Challenged the Sootopolis Gym Leader, Wallace!

Sootopolis Gym overview:
Team entering the fight: Dustshoot LV45 / Soft Sand - Earthquake, Crunch, Screech, Fly
Top Hat LV42 / Lax Incense - Psybeam, Light Screen, Shadow Ball, Selfdestruct
Finley LV42 / Sea Incense - Mud Shot, Surf, Muddy Water, Ice Beam
Caldera LV41 / Amulet Coin - Magnitude, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Flamethrower
Jigs LV40 - Magnitude, Strength, Selfdestruct, Rock Throw
Trunked LV30 / Exp. Share - Growl, Defense Curl, Flail, Take Down

He starts off with Luvdisc while I open with Caldera. He uses Water Pulse, but I live and use Earthquake, which leaves him with like 1 HP. Him: 1% HP, Me: 38/111 HP. He uses his Hyper Potion while I use Earthquake again, which leaves him with more than he had last time. Him: 10% or so HP. He kills me with Water Pulse. I bring in Top Hat and finish him with Shadow Ball.
Next up is Whiscash. I use Light Screen while he uses Amnesia. Him: Full health and +2 Defense. I use Shadow Ball, but it doesn't do much at all and he uses Amnesia again. Him: 4/5 or so HP and +4 Sp Def. I switch in Dustshoot as he uses Rain Dance. I use Screech as he uses Amnesia. Him: 4/5 or so HP, +6 Sp Def and -2 Defense. I use Earthquake, which kills him.
After that is Sealeo. Unfortunately, my Light Screen wears off, so I switch in Top Hat again and take an Aurora Beam for less than half. Him: 68/115 HP. I set up Light Screen again and he uses Water Pulse for not too much. Me: 37/115 HP. The rain stops, and I use Shadow Ball for barely anything while he hits with Aurora Beam. Him: 5/6 or so HP, Me: 12/115 HP. I use Selfdestruct, which kills him.
I bring in Dustshoot as he sends in Milotic. Gulp. I use Screech, and he uses Ice Beam, but I live thanks to the Light Screen. Him: Full health and -2 Defense, Me: 65/137 HP. I use Earthquake and kill him in one hit. Trunked grows to Level 31 after that.
Finally is his Seaking. Light Screen wears off, but I use Screech as he uses Rain Dance. Him: Full health and -2 Defense. He uses Water Pulse…which kills me with a critical hit. Seriously?! I bring in Jigs as death fodder while I Revive Dustshoot. I bring in Dustshoot again, and he uses Water Pulse, but I live and kill him with Earthquake, ending the battle.
That was okay, but that critical hit near the end was not cool. That Screech was pretty handy, though!

So here's my team:

LeafGreen Ground Monotype, Update #2

Spoiler:

-Went through the Underground Path.
-On Route 6, Mickey grew to Level 22 and evolved into Sandslash.
-Arrived in Vermilion City.
-Got the Vs. Seeker from a girl in the Pokémon Center (HECK YEAH!).
-Obtained the Bike Voucher.
-Caught a Diglett in Diglett's Cave named Hide.
-Went through the SS Anne, beating most of the trainers. Ginsly was pretty easy except for his Kadabra.
-Got HM01 for Cut from the Captain.
-Battled the trainers in the Vermilion Gym.
-Challenged the Gym Leader, Lt. Surge!

Vermilion Gym overview:
Team entering the fight: Punchy LV22 - Rock Throw, Mega Punch, Magnitude, Selfdestruct
Coleman LV24 - Horn Attack, Double Kick, Peck, Leer
Mickey LV23 - Scratch, Dig, Sand-Attack, Rock Tomb
Marley LV23 - Double Kick, Scratch, Tail Whip, Bite
Hide LV23 - Scratch, Growl, Magnitude, Dig

He starts off with Voltorb while I open with Punchy. He uses Tackle while I use Magnitude, which gets a 6 and OHKOes him. Punchy grows to Level 23 after that. Me: 57/58 HP.
Next is his Pikachu. He uses Quick Attack, but I use Magnitude, which gets a 7 and OHKOes him. Me: 56/58 HP.
Finally is his Raichu. He uses Double Team, and I use Magnitude and miss. He uses Quick Attack, then I use Magnitude, which gets a 6 and hits him. Him: 10% or so HP, Me: 53/58 HP. He heals up, and after a few turns of misses I hit with Magnitude and end the battle.

-Beat the trainers on Route 11. In doing so, Punchy evolved into Graveler.
-Beat the trainers on Route 9. In doing so, Hide evolved into Dugtrio.
-Went through Rock Tunnel. A lot of the trainers were really stupid, but I didn't have many healing items.
-Used the Rock Slide tutor on Hide.
-Arrived in Lavender Town.
-Beat all the trainers on Route 8. Yawn.
-Arrived in Celadon City.
-Used a Moon Stone on Coleman to evolve him into Nidoking.
-Got HM02 for Fly from the girl on Route 16.
-Flew back to Mt. Moon, where I got another Moon Stone, which I used on Marley to get her to evolve into Nidoqueen.
-Found Team Rocket's hideout in the Game Corner.
-Beat all the grunts; most of them were laughably easy.
-Giovanni was pretty easy too, Hide beat his two Rock-types while Mickey took care of Kangashkan with little trouble.
-Sold some TMs I can't use on anyone and got 4,000 coins, which I spent on TM13 for Ice Beam, which I immediately gave to Coleman, along with another TM28 for Dig.
-Beat the Gym trainers, they too were pathetically easy.
-Challenged the Gym Leader, Erika!

Celadon Gym overview:
Team entering the fight: Coleman LV31 - Double Kick, Peck, Dig, Ice Beam
Punchy LV31 - Rock Throw, Mega Punch, Magnitude, Selfdestruct
Mickey LV31 - Slash, Dig, Sand-Attack, Rock Tomb
Marley LV31 - Double Kick, Scratch, Tail Whip, Bite
Hide LV31 - Scratch, Rock Slide, Magnitude, Dig

She starts off with Victreebell while I open with Coleman. I use Peck, while she uses Stun Spore. Her: 2/3 or so HP, Me: Full health and paralyzed. I use a Parlyz Heal as she hits me with Giga Drain. Her: 5/6 or so HP, Me: 68/92 HP. I hit with Ice Beam and kill her.
After that is Tangela, who dies in one hit to another Ice Beam. Coleman grows to Level 32 after that.
Finally is her Vileplume. I use Ice Beam, and she gets FROZEN SOLID! I kill her next turn with another Ice Beam, ending the battle.
This wasn't my first try, actually, first few I was getting irritated with parahax, one time I even got fully paralyzed three turns in a row when I was about to win. Proves that paralysis is one of the stupidest things Pokémon has ever made. Also, don't mind my over leveling, it's not my fault i've battled every trainer.

Here's my team there:

Spoiler:

Nidoqueen (F) "Marley", Level 31
Nature: Rash
Moves: Double Kick, Tail Whip, Scratch, Bite

Nidoking (M) "Coleman", Level 32
Nature: Mild
Moves: Double Kick, Peck, Dig, Ice Beam

Graveler (M) "Punchy", Level 31

Sandslash (M) "Mickey", Level 31
Nature: Jolly
Moves: Slash, Sand-Attack, Dig, Rock Tomb

Well, I already beat the game on both Ruby and LeafGreen - I did them on an emulator with turbospeed access on a Windows computer. I sped through them on it because I didn't want to have to bring that computer to college with me (and i'd prefer not to bring any of my GBA games with me). I move into my dorm tomorrow, so I zipped through them. I'll post the final updates for LeafGreen later, but here are two now.

Ruby Ground Monotype, Update #5 - Final Update

Spoiler:
-Went to Meteor Falls and got TM02 for Dragon Claw.
-Arrived in Ever Grande City.
-Made it through Victory Road.
-Beat Wally, he was pretty easy since Dustshoot was able to beat his guys quickly with Earthquake (except Altaria, who died to one Ice Beam from Finley).
-Trained everyone to Level 51-53.

Sidney overview:
Team entering the fight: Finley LV53 / Sea Incense - Surf, Mud Shot, Earthquake, Ice Beam
Top Hat LV52 / Lax Incense - Psychic, Shadow Ball, Light Screen, Dig
Dustshoot LV53 - Crunch, Earthquake, Screech, Fly
Trunkers LV52 / Soft Sand - Earthquake, Growl, Rock Tomb, Take Down
Caldera LV52 / Charcoal - Magnitude, Earthquake, Flamethrower, Rock Slide
Jigs LV40 - Strength, Selfdestruct, Magnitude, Rock Throw

He starts off with Mightyena while I open with Finley, but he gets off Intimidate. Me: Full health and -1 Attack. I start with Surf, which leaves him with a sliver of health as he uses Sand-Attack to lower my accuracy. Him: 1 HP, Me: Full health and -1 Accuracy. I use Surf again as he uses his Full Restore, but do less than last time. Him: 8% or so HP. I kill him with Ice Beam.
Next up is Cacturne, predictably. I switch out for Dustshoot as he uses Cotton Spore to lower my Speed. Me: Full health and -2 Speed. I use Screech as he misses with Cotton Spore, then use Fly which kills him.
After that is Sharpedo. He uses Surf and gets a critical hit, but I kill him in one hit with Earthquake. Me: 52/168 HP.
Next up is Absol. He uses Snatch, but I use Earthquake and nearly kill him, but his Sitrus Berry activates. Him: 1/3 or so HP. He uses Slash and I live, then kill him with Fly. Me: 12/168 HP.
Finally is his Shiftry. He kills me with Fake Out, so I bring in Caldera. He uses Extrasensory, but I live that pretty easily and kill him with Flamethrower, ending the battle.

Phoebe overview:
Team entering the fight: Same as last time, except i'm leading with Trunked. All others remain unchanged.
She starts off with her first Dusclops while I open with Trunked. I use Earthquake for more than enough for a 2HKO as she uses Future Sight. Another Earthquake kills her.
Then she brings in her next Dusclops, also her ace. Here, I completely derp and send in Dustshoot, and she uses Ice Beam then I get hit with Future Sight. Me: 30/168 HP. I use Screech before she kills me with Shadow Ball. I send in Caldera and use Earthquake, which gets her low, and she uses Earthquake too. Her Sitrus Berry activates. Her: 1/3 or so HP, Me: 64/142 HP. I kill her with another Earthquake.
After that is her weaker Banette. She nearly kills me with Shadow Ball, and lowers my Special Defense, but Earthquake does big damage to her. Her: 1/5 or so HP, Me: 5/142 HP. She uses her Full Restore, and I use Flamethrower for basically the same amount Earthquake did. I let Caldera die, then I bring in Finley and kill her with Mud Shot…and of course I get the critical hit on the turn that doesn't matter. ._.
Next up is Sableye. I use Surf, but she uses Attract. Her: 1/3 or so HP. Thankfully, I hit through it and kill her with another Surf.
Finally is her last Banette. I use Surf, which nearly kills her, and she uses Toxic to badly poison me. She uses her Full Restore, and I kill her with Mud Shot followed by Surf, ending the battle.

Glacia overview:
Team entering the fight: Same as last time, except i'm leading with Trunked. All others remain unchanged.
She starts off with her first Glalie while I open with Trunked. She uses Ice Beam, which hits big, but I use Earthquake for decent damage also. Her: 1/5 or so HP, Me: 50/184 HP. She uses her Full Restore, but I hit her with Rock Tomb and lower her Speed. This allows me to kill her with another Earthquake.
After that is her first Sealeo. I use Earthquake and hit pretty well, but she kills me with Surf. Her: 1/4 or so HP. I send in Finley and kill her with Mud Shot, and again get the critical hit on the last turn.
Next up is her next Sealeo. I use Mud Shot while she goes for Blizzard. Her: 1/3 or so HP, Me: 127/187 HP. I kill her next turn with Earthquake. Finley grows to Level 54 after that.
Then we have her stronger Glalie. I switch out for Jigs just as death fodder to an Ice Beam, then bring in Caldera. She uses Hail, but I kill her in one hit with Flamethrower.
Finally is her ace Pokémon, Walrein. Me: 133/142 HP after hail damage. I Revive Jigs as she kills me with Surf, then I bring in Top Hat. I use Light Screen as she hits with Blizzard, which still hits pretty hard even with Light Screen up. Me: 55/134 HP after hail damage. I use Psychic, which does okay, before she kills me with Blizzard. Her: 2/3 or so HP. I bring in Dustshoot and use Earthquake, which knocks her low, but she kills me with Blizzard. I bring in Finley, and the hail stops, but her Sitrus Berry heals her. Her: 45% or so HP. I kill her with Earthquake and end the battle.

Drake overview:
Team entering the fight: Same as last time, except Top Hat has Ice Beam instead of Psychic, and Dustshoot has Dragon Claw instead of Crunch. All others remain unchanged.
He starts off with Shelgon while I open with Trunked. I use Earthquake, while he hits with Rock Tomb for no damage at all, but lowers my Speed. Him: 1/3 or so HP, Me: 178/184 HP and -1 Speed. Expecting him to use Protect, I go for Take Down, and he barely lives, but he misses with Rock Tomb. Him: 1% HP. He uses his Full Restore while I hit with Earthquake again, then kill him with Take Down. Me: 153/184 HP.
Next up is Altaria. I switch out for Top Hat as he uses Dragon Dance. Uh-oh! Him: Full health, +1 Attack and Speed. He uses it again as I hit hard with Ice Beam. Him: 1/5 or so HP, +2 Attack and Speed. He uses Take Down, which barely does anything even with +2 Attack, as I kill him with another Ice Beam. Me: 100/144 HP.
Following that we have his first Flygon. He uses Crunch and I live, but he narrowly survives my Ice Beam. Him: 1% HP, Me: 53/144 HP. He uses Crunch again, then I go for Light Screen. Me: 8/144 HP. I heal up with a Hyper Potion before he uses DragonBreath. Me: 129/144 HP. He uses Crunch again before I finish him with Shadow Ball.
Then we have his ace, Salamence, who gets off the Intimidate. Me: 105/144 HP and -1 Attack. He uses Flamethrower, which doesn't do much at all, while Ice Beam almost kills him, but then his Sitrus Berry activates. Him: 1/6 or so HP, Me: 84/144 HP. He uses his Full Restore as I hit him with Ice Beam again. Him: 10% or so HP. Then my Light Screen wears off. He nearly kills me with Crunch, and lowers my Special Defense no less, but I survive and kill him with Ice Beam. Me: 6/144 HP and -1 Sp Def.
Finally is his last Flygon. I let Top Hat be death fodder to a DragonBreath, then bring in Finley. He uses Sandstorm, then I finish him with Ice Beam and end the battle.

Champion Steven overview:
Team entering the fight: Caldera LV52 / Charcoal - Magnitude, Earthquake, Flamethrower, Rock Slide
Finley LV54 / Sea Incense - Surf, Mud Shot, Earthquake, Ice Beam
Top Hat LV52 / Lax Incense - Ice Beam, Reflect, Light Screen, Dig
Dustshoot LV53 - Fire Blast, Earthquake, Screech, Fly
Trunkers LV52 / Soft Sand - Earthquake, Growl, Rock Tomb, Take Down
Jigs LV40 - Strength, Selfdestruct, Magnitude, Rock Throw

He starts off with Skarmory while I open with Caldera. He uses Toxic and hits, but I use Flamethrower, which kills him in one hit.
After that is his Aggron. Me: 134/142 HP after poison damage. He uses Earthquake, which nearly kills me, but I survive and kill him with my own Earthquake. Caldera grows to Level 53 after that.
Next up is his ace Pokémon, Metagross. Unfortunately, Caldera faints from poison. I send out Finley. Hey, why not use my own ace Pokémon against the Champion's? He uses Psychic, which does less than half, while my Earthquake does enough for a 2HKO, even after his Sitrus Berry. Him: 45% or so HP, Me: 118/190 HP. Then he uses Earthquake, which I live rather comfortably, allowing me to kill him with another Earthquake. Finley grows to Level 55 after that. Me: 58/193 HP.
Then we have, of course, Cradily. I switch out for Dustshoot as he uses Giga Drain, but it hardly does anything. Me: 128/168 HP. I use Screech to try to soften things as he uses Confuse Ray. Him: Full health and -2 Defense, Me: 128/168 HP and confused. I switch in Jigs and let her be death fodder to a Giga Drain, then bring Dustshoot back in and use Earthquake…which doesn't quite kill him, and he uses Giga Drain again. Me: 88/168 HP, Him: 1/5 or so HP and -2 Defense. Expecting him to use a Full Restore, I go for Screech…and I was right, he uses his Full Restore, and I hit. With -4 Defense, I OHKO him with Earthquake.
Next up is…Claydol, ugh. I use Screech as he uses Reflect. Him: Full health and -2 Defense. I hit with another Screech as he uses Light Screen. Him: Full health and -4 Defense. I use Screech one more time as he uses AncientPower, but it doesn't do much at all since I resist it. Him: Full health and -6 Defense, Me: 77/168 HP. I use Fire Blast to stall for time for Reflect to wear off, but it barely does anything though I wasn't expecting it to, and he uses AncientPower and gets a critical hit, but still nothing. Him: 90% or so HP and -6 Defense, Me: 55/168 HP. I use Fly and avoid AncientPower, and his Reflect wears off, then I kill him.
Finally is his Armaldo. I use Earthquake, which does alright, and I barely live his Slash. Him: 55% or so HP, Me: 2/168 HP. However, I miss with Screech next turn and he kills me. I send in Trunked, and kill him with Earthquake, ending the battle. Trunked grows to Level 53 after that.
That was a pretty fun battle, I knew I was going to win because of type advantages and such, but it worked pretty well. I didn't even need to use any items

And I guess i'll post another LeafGreen update, because I can.

LeafGreen Ground Monotype, Update #3

Spoiler:
-Returned to Lavender Town.
-Found a Cubone in Pokémon Tower which I nicknamed Shrivel.
-Beat all the Channelers and the ghost of Marowak in Pokémon Tower.
-Got the Poké Flute from Mr. Fuji.
-Arrived in Saffron City.
-Went through Silph Co and beat nearly all the grunts. Most of them were easy, but they got annoying.
-Beat Ginsly. He wasn't too hard, just annoying (Alakazam was stupid and kept using Future Sight, lol).
-Giovanni wasn't that hard, either.
-Went down Cycling Road and battled some of the trainers.
-Arrived in Fuchsia City.
-Caught a Rhyhorn in the Safari Zone named Gulch.
-Obtained HM03 for Surf.
-Beat all the trainers on Route 15.
-Beat all the trainers in the Fuchsia Gym.
-Beat most of the trainers on Route 14.
-Challenged the Gym Leader, Koga!

Fuchsia Gym overview:
Team entering the fight: Coleman LV39 - Ice Beam, Dig, Peck, Double Kick
Marley LV38 - Bite, Scratch, Dig, Double Kick
Gulch LV38 - Rock Blast, Dig, Strength, Stomp
Hide LV38 - Magnitude, Rock Slide, Dig, Slash
Mickey LV38 - Dig, Rock Tomb, Sand-Attack, Slash
Punchy LV35 - Rock Throw, Selfdestruct, Mega Punch, Magnitude

He starts off with his first Koffing while I open with Coleman. I use Ice Beam, which leaves him with like 1 HP, while he uses Sludge for pathetic damage. Him: 1% HP, Me: 107/113 HP. He uses his Hyper Potion while I use Peck, then kill him next turn with another Ice Beam.
Next up is Muk. As I use Dig, he uses Minimize twice, but I hit him after the first one. Him: 1/3 or so HP and +2 Evasion. I switch in Hide, as he hits me with Sludge and poisons me, yuck. Me: 52/94 HP and poisoned. I miss with Magnitude twice in a row and he kills me with two hits of Sludge. I bring in Mickey and hit with Dig after he fails to use Sludge, killing him. Good riddance.
After that we have his next Koffing. I use Sand-Attack to start, as he misses with SmokeScreen, haha. Him: Full health and -1 Accuracy. I hit him with Slash, but he poisons me with Toxic. Him: 62% or so HP, Me: 101/107 HP and badly poisoned. I switch in for Coleman as he uses SmokeScreen again, but I hit through it with Ice Beam and kill him.
Finally is his ace, his Weezing. I use Ice Beam, which hits for less than half, but he uses something else (wasn't paying attention since I was speeding up), but misses. Him: 62% or so HP. I switch out for Mickey to get rid of the accuracy drops as he uses Tackle, wow. Me: 84/107 HP and badly poisoned. I hit with Rock Tomb because I don't want him to heal, as he uses Tackle again. Him: 1/2 or so HP and -1 Speed, Me: 59/107 HP and badly poisoned. I use it one more time, then he hits me with Sludge. Him: 1/3 HP, Me: 26/107 HP and badly poisoned. I use two more Sand-Attacks to basically leave Mickey in for death fodder until he faints (then he gets the critical hit on the last turn, lol). I bring in Coleman and finish him with Ice Beam, ending the battle.

-Taught HM03 for Surf to Marley.
-Started heading down Route 19.
-Made it through Seafoam Islands and Route 20.
-Arrived in Cinnabar Island.
-Went through the Pokémon Mansion and got the Secret Key. In doing so, Gulch reached Level 42 and evolved into Rhydon.
-Beat the trainers in the Cinnabar Gym. They were all laughably easy.
-Challenged the Gym Leader, Blaine!

Cinnabar Gym overview:
Team entering the fight: Marley LV41 - Bite, Surf, Dig, Double Kick
Coleman LV41 - Ice Beam, Dig, Peck, Double Kick
Gulch LV42 - Rock Blast, Dig, Strength, Stomp
Hide LV41 - Magnitude, Rock Slide, Dig, Slash
Mickey LV41 - Dig, Rock Tomb, Sand-Attack, Slash
Punchy LV35 - Rock Throw, Selfdestruct, Mega Punch, Magnitude

He starts off with Growlithe while I open with Marley, who gets Intimidated. I kill him in one hit with Surf.
Next up is Ponyta. I use Surf, which barely fails to kill him, while he hits with Fire Blast. Him: 5% or so HP, Me: 75/130 HP. He uses his Hyper Potion, and I use Double Kick then kill him with another Surf.
After that is Rapidash. He misses with Fire Blast while Surf does over half. Him: 1/3 or so HP. He then hits with Fire Blast and kills me with a critical hit, but I don't think it mattered. I bring in Mickey, am somehow faster (geez, for a Sandslash he's outspeeding almost everything, I know he has a +Speed nature but still) and use Dig to kill him.
Finally is his Arcanine, who gets off Intimidate. Me: Full health and -1 Attack. I use Dig, but it doesn't even do half, while he uses Fire Blast and kills me in one hit. I send in Gulch, and he hits hard with Fire Blast, but I use Dig and kill him, ending the battle.

Here's my team at the end of this update:
Spoiler:

Nature: Rash
Moves: Double Kick, Surf, Dig, Bite

LeafGreen Ground Monotype, Update #4

Spoiler:
-Went to One Island with Bill.
-Did the whole side quest with the Meteorite and helping Lostelle.
-Went to the Saffron Gym, avoiding all the trainers, and challenged the leader, Sabrina!

Saffron Gym overview:
Team entering the fight: Hide LV43 - Magnitude, Rock Slide, Dig, Slash
Marley LV43 - Bite, Surf, Dig, Superpower
Coleman LV44 - Ice Beam, Dig, Megahorn, Double Kick
Gulch LV44 - Rock Blast, Dig, Strength, Stomp
Mickey LV43 - Dig, Rock Tomb, Sand-Attack, Slash
Punchy LV35 - Rock Throw, Selfdestruct, Mega Punch, Magnitude

She starts off with Kadabra while I open with Hide. I use Magnitude, which gets an 8 and kills her in one hit. Okay, we're off to a good start.
Next up is Mr. Mime. I use Magnitude, and get another 8, which kills her in one hit. Haha, this is funny. Hide grows to Level 44 after that.
After that is Venomoth. I use Rock Slide, which doesn't quite kill her, but she uses Supersonic and misses. Pathetic. Her: 8% or so HP. She uses her Hyper Potion, but I use Slash then kill her with Rock Slide.
Finally is her ace, Alakazam. I use Magnitude, which only gets a 6, but it does half, while she uses Psychic and does over half, and lowers my Special Defense, too. Her: 45% or so HP, Me: 46/98 HP and -1 Sp Def. I use Magnitude again, which gets another 6, kills her and ends the battle.
Wow. Talk about anticlimax. This Gym had me pretty worried, but I got insanely lucky I guess. Not much else to it.

-Returned to Viridian Gym.
-Beat the trainers in the Viridian Gym.

Viridian Gym overview:
Team entering the fight: Marley LV45 - Bite, Surf, Dig, Superpower
Hide LV44 - Magnitude, Rock Slide, Dig, Slash
Coleman LV45 - Ice Beam, Dig, Megahorn, Double Kick
Gulch LV44 - Rock Blast, Dig, Strength, Stomp
Mickey LV44 - Dig, Rock Tomb, Sand-Attack, Slash
Punchy LV35 - Rock Throw, Selfdestruct, Mega Punch, Magnitude

Isn't it funny how similar our teams look? Anyway, he starts off with Rhyhorn while I open with Marley. I kill him in one hit with Surf.
Next up is his Dugtrio. He uses Earthquake, but it does less than half, and I kill that in one hit with Surf also. Marley grows to Level 46 after that. Me: 80/146 HP.
Following that is his own Nidoqueen. I use Surf, which does more than enough for a 2HKO, while he uses Earthquake and I barely live. Him: 1/3 or so HP, Me: 12/146 HP. I kill him next turn.
After that is his Nidoking. I use Surf, which does more than half, but he kills me with Earthquake. Him: 1/3 or so HP. I bring in Coleman and kill him with Ice Beam.
Finally is his stronger Rhyhorn. Y U NO HAS RHYDON? Anyway, I kill him in one hit with Ice Beam, with a critical hit that I probably didn't even need.
Yeah, Giovanni, for the last Gym leader, you're pretty pathetic. There really isn't much else to this battle, even if he did beat one of my guys.

Here's my team at the time of the update:

Spoiler:
Nidoqueen (F) "Marley", Level 46
Nature: Rash
Moves: Superpower, Surf, Dig, Bite

Nidoking (M) "Coleman", Level 45
Nature: Mild
Moves: Double Kick, Megahorn, Dig, Ice Beam

Sandslash (M) "Mickey", Level 44
Nature: Jolly
Moves: Slash, Sand-Attack, Dig, Rock Tomb

Dugtrio (M) "Hide", Level 44
Nature: Careful
Ability: Arena Trap
Moves: Slash, Dig, Magnitude, Rock Slide

Rhydon (F) "Gulch", Level 44
Nature: Docile
Ability: Rock Head
Moves: Dig, Rock Blast, Stomp, Strength

Graveler (M) "Punchy", Level 35
Nature: Serious
Ability: Rock Head
Moves: Magnitude, Selfdestruct, Rock Throw, Mega Punch

Since i've already beaten the game (i'll post final update there later), I started on SoulSilver. Let's look at the start of that!

SoulSilver Ground Monotype, Update #1

Spoiler:
-Began the game. Chose the boy and named him Arthur.
-Chose Chikorita (I know, it's lame of me to pick a Pokémon that will lead my rival to have the Fire-type starter).
-Went through the usual stuff of meeting Mr. Pokémon, etc.
-Named the rival Merlin.
-Caught a Geodude on Route 46 named ****net.
-Battled the trainers on Routes 30 and 31.
-Arrived in Violet City.
-Caught a Bellsprout on Route 32, which I traded for Onix in Violet City.
-Was called by Joey and told about his top percentage Rattata.
-Caught a Wooper on Route 32 named Arcana.
-Trained Arcana up to Level 9 so she could fight Bellsprouts.
-Scaled the Sprout Tower, beat the Elder and got TM70 for Flash from him.
-Beat the two trainers in the Violet Gym with ****net.
-Trained ****net to Level 11 to get him to learn Rock Throw.
-Got HM06 for Rock Smash.
-Challenged the Gym Leader, Falkner!

Violet Gym overview:
Team entering the fight: ****net LV11 - Tackle, Rock Throw, Defense Curl, Rock Polish
Arcana LV12 - Water Gun, Mud Shot, Mud Sport, Tail Whip
Rocky LV6 - Tackle, Harden, Bind, Screech

He starts off with Pidgey while I open with ****net. He opens with Sand-Attack, while I use Rock Polish. Me: Full health, +2 Speed and -1 Accuracy. I use Rock Throw, which hits and kills him in one hit.
Next up is of course, his Pidgeotto. I switch out for Rocky to get rid of the accuracy drop as he uses Gust, which hardly does anything. Me: 15/21 HP. He uses it again, while I hit him with Screech. Him: Full health and -2 Defense, Me: 8/21 HP. Same thing next turn. Him: Full health and -4 Defense, Me: 2/21 HP. I let Rocky be death fodder, then bring in ****net again. He uses Gust for hardly anything, while I kill him in one hit with Rock Throw and end the battle. ****net grows to Level 12 after that.
I probably could have done that without having Rocky faint there, but since my accuracy was lowered from the Pidgey, I figured I might as well cut this thing's Defense as much as I can, and it worked out. Not that I thought I was going to lose, but still, i'd rather do that than use healing items (though I doubt i'll be able to make it through every big battle without them).

-Got the Togepi Egg from Elm's assistant.
-Met with one of the Kimono Girls outside of the Poké Mart.
-Beat all the trainers on Route 32.
-Went through the Union Cave and Route 33.
-Arrived in Azalea Town.
-Beat Team Rocket in the Slowpoke Well.
-Beat my rival, Merlin, in Azalea Town. While not hard, he was pretty annoying.
-Went into the Azalea Gym and took on almost all the trainers.
-Challenged the Gym Leader, Bugsy!

Azalea Gym overview:
Team entering the fight: ****net LV11 - Tackle, Rock Throw, Defense Curl, Rock Polish
Arcana LV12 - Water Gun, Mud Shot, Mud Sport, Tail Whip
Rocky LV6 - Tackle, Harden, Bind, Screech

He starts off with Scyther while I open with ****net. He uses Leer while I kill him in one hit with Rock Throw. ****net grows to Level 17 after that. Me: 42/44 HP and -1 Defense.
Next up is Metapod. He uses Tackle and gets a critical hit for barely anything, while I almost kill him with Rock Throw. Him: 5% or so HP, Me: 39/44 HP and -1 Defense. He uses his Super Potion while I hit with Magnitude and get a 7, which does okay. He uses Tackle for 1 damage, and I kill him with Rock Throw. ****net grows to Level 18 after that and learns Selfdestruct, which I replace Tackle with.
Finally is Kakuna. He uses Poison Sting for 1 damage while I kill him in one Rock Throw, ending the battle.
Yeah, I didn't think anyone would expect this to be hard.

Here's my team there:

Spoiler:
Geodude (M) "****net", Level 18
Nature: Brave
Ability: Rock Head
Moves: Magnitude, Rock Polish, Rock Throw, Selfdestruct

Wooper (F) "Arcana", Level 17
Nature: Quiet
Ability: Water Absorb
Moves: Mud Shot, Slam, Tail Whip, Water Gun

Onix (M) "Rocky", Level 10
Nature: Hasty
Ability: Sturdy
Moves: Bind, Rock Throw, Screech, Tackle

Also, to make sure, I can trade over version exclusives (like Gligar and Phanpy) from an Egg or so at any time, yes? While it does seem a bit unfair to trade them over freshly caught, I would have no qualms with that in a game that's terrible for training. :/ I would have done this on HeartGold version, but my copy of that has a lot of stuff on it so I don't want to erase it.

Emerald Ground Mono Update

Managed to beat Winona extremely easily. I was actually really surprised how easily I defeated her because it always takes me multiple tries. But I won't argue against it!! lol
Got to the top of Mt. Pyre and had a run-in with Archie.
Also caught Phanpy in the Safari Zone, nicknamed him Donny. He evolved into Donphan very quickly after.

Crystal is done will start on emerald at some point (once i figure my team other than 2x moth thingies and masquerain)

So Kanto Gyms
Spoiler:

Lt. Surge was a cakewalk with scizor and pinsir being so damn powerful
Next was sabrina who also went down fairly easy cuz of scizor sweeping
Misty was mostly a butterfree job though scizor did round off the starmie nicely
Erika went down easily to butterfree (psychic from Saffron)
Brock was easy as hell for venomoth (which had giga drain at that point from erika)
did the power plant shiz went and got the pokedoll went back to johto got a bike finally and went down both routes to fuschia for training
Janine was easy (butterfree + psychic = GG)
Blaine was as excpected tough as hell his magcargo being the slow ass it is was killed by sleep powder + psychic the magmar followed suit
then his rapidash which was as excpected hella fast but pinsir being the pro it is outsped, took half with strength, lived a fire blast and killed with a second strength
Blue was a real pain (dat Arcanine) but i eventually won (i am not ashamed to admit i had to spam hyper potions on ledian which was tanking flamethrowers all day till he ran out of PP) but eventually he ran out i revived scizor brought it in set up SD and swept the rest

Then The big man himself. i grinded to 55 but i think i shouldve done more as i wouldve likely lost if not for the luckiest luck in the history of luck

Pikachu was set up bait for scizor (thunder? really? 70 acc? fine then miss like all your hits see if i care) and it died to +6 quick attack
then came venusaur which set up sunny day and died to +6 steel wing
then charizard. oh god charizard. nothing, repeat, nothing could live flamethrower so he ultimately swept my team
attempt 2 the same thing happened to this point then scizor got a +6 quick attack CRITICAL HIT bringing it down to a smidgeon of health before dieiing, i brought in ariados as death fodder and revived scizor who finished it off with quick attack then came snorlax i sent in pinsir set up a SD and used submission but it didnt kill that bulky ass thing which killed me with body slam i set up with scizor and finished it off. he brought in blastoise which killed scizor and i brought in butterfree to try the old sleep + solarbeam strategy... nope ****ing blizzard son. so then i brought in venomoth and the sleep + chip away strategy DID work this time (he used rain dance as i put him to sleep it wore off by the time he woke up so he used it again allowing me to sleep him again)
last came the espeon which took down venomoth. i brought in ledian and revived scizor then brought it in and set up some swords dances and finished it off with one final steel wing.

Where did I stop? Whatever. I beat Surge with a level 28 Wartortle and a level 26 Gyarados. Was kinda worried that Raichu would stop Gyarados cold but for some reason, it never used Shock Wave so I was able to kill it easily. Still running around catching filler dex so that I can get exp. share (or was it amulet coin? idr).

Rock Tunnel I go
Flash I forgot once again
Welp, small circle time.

Well, guess I should do the next updates.

LeafGreen Ground Monotype, Update #5 - Final Update

Spoiler:
-Beat Ginsly in an overall not hard fight.
-Went through the Badge Check Gates.
-Made it through Victory Road, battling the trainers along the way.
-Did massive amounts of training in Victory Road and One Island.
-Got TM24 for Thunderbolt, which I gave to Coleman, and gave TM38 for Fire Blast to Marley.
-Entered the Pokémon League:

Lorelei overview:
Team entering the fight: Marley LV59 - Fire Blast, Surf, Dig, Superpower
Coleman LV59 - Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Dig, Megahorn
Gulch LV59 - Earthquake, Rock Blast, Brick Break, Double-Edge
Hide LV59 - Slash, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Magnitude
Mickey LV59 - Earthquake, Rock Tomb, Slash, Sand-Attack
Punchy LV35 - Strength, Magnitude, Rock Throw, Selfdestruct

She starts off with Dewgong while I open with Marley. I use Superpower, which doesn't kill her, and she uses Ice Beam, which does more than half. Her: 10% or so HP, Me: 82/186 HP. I switch out for Coleman as she uses her Full Restore. I use Thunderbolt then she uses Surf, both doing enough for a 2HKO. Her: 40% or so HP, Me: 69/167 HP. I kill her next turn.
Next up is Closter, who dies to one Thunderbolt.
After that is Slowbro. I use Megahorn, which does more than half, but she kills me with Ice Beam. I bring in Mickey and finish her with an Earthquake.
Following is Jynx, who I am faster than, and kill her with one Earthquake. Geez, i'm glad I got a Sandshrew with a +Speed nature, because for a Sandslash (65 base Speed), Mickey is pretty fast.
Finally is her ace, Lapras. I miss first hit with Rock Tomb, and she uses Ice Beam and I barely live. Me: 15/165 HP. I hit next turn though before she kills me with another Ice Beam. Her: 2/3 or so HP. I bring in Gulch and miss with Rock Blast, then she kills me with Surf. Then I use Marley, who narrowly fails to kill her with Superpower, and she kills me with Ice Beam. Her: 1% HP. I bring in Hide, and she uses her Full Restore, while Rock Slide does less than half. Her: 62% or so HP. I use it again, and she uses Ice Beam, but I live. Her: 25% or so HP, Me: 35/128 HP. I kill her next turn with Earthquake and end the battle.
That was looking to be a pretty good battle up until that stupid Lapras came out. Thankfully, Hide survived that Ice Beam, otherwise this would have sucked even more.

Bruno overview:
Team entering the fight: Same as last time. All Pokémon, moves and items remain unchanged.
He starts off with his first Onix while I open with Marley. One Surf kills him.
Next up is his second Onix, who also dies to one Surf. Uh, are you even trying?!
After that is his Hitmonlee. I use Dig and avoid a Mega Kick, then hit for enough for a 2HKO, but his Mega Kick hits, though I get Poison Point, yay. :D Him: 1/3 or so HP and poisoned, Me: 137/186 HP. I kill him with Surf.
Following that is his ace, his Machamp. I use Fire Blast, which does less than half, but he misses with Scary Face. Him: 2/3 or so HP. I use it again, and he hits with Scary Face this time, and his Sitrus Berry activates. Him: 45% or so HP, Me: 137/186 HP and -2 Speed. After thinking about it for a few minutes, I send in Mickey, as he uses Cross Chop, which misses. Nice! I use Earthquake, which does enough to finish him off.
Finally is his Hitmonchan. Earthquake does almost enough to kill him, but he uses Rock Tomb. Him: 1/6 or so HP, Me: 157/165 HP and -1 Speed. He uses another Full Restore, and I use Slash, which gets a critical hit and knocks him right back where he was. He uses ANOTHER Full Restore, and I get ANOTHER critical hit. Wow, this is funny. He uses Sky Uppercut, but it doesn't do much at all, and I kill him with Slash and end the battle.
Not much to this battle; I hardly took any damage during it (though he missed a few times and he was stupid) and basically got the job done well.

Agatha overview:
Team entering the fight: Same as last time, except i'm leading with Hide. All others remain unchanged.
She starts off with her first Gengar while I open with Hide. I use Rock Slide, which only does around 1/3, but she flinches. Her: 2/3 or so HP. I use Rock Slide again, and she flinches again, just wow. Her: 1/3 or so HP. I use Rock Slide and kill her…of course, getting the critical hit on the turn that doesn't matter.
Next up is Golbat. I use Rock Slide, which does enough for a 2HKO, but she uses Confuse Ray. Her: 40% or so HP. I use a Full Heal as she uses Air Cutter. Me: 89/128 HP. Another Rock Slide kills her, and AGAIN I get the critical hit on the last turn. Twice in a row in one battle, that's just sad.
After that is her Haunter. I use Rock Slide again, and get a critical hit which kills her in one hit. Yes, THAT'S what I like to see. See, Hide, why couldn't you have done that on her first two guys?
Following that is her stronger Gengar. I only have one Rock Slide left, and I use it…does around the same that it did to her first Gengar, and she uses Hypnosis. Her: 2/3 or so HP, Me: 89/128 HP and asleep. I switch out for Mickey, and she uses Shadow Ball, which barely does anything. Me: 137/165 HP. She hits with Hypnosis, then next turn I use the Poké Flute to wake Mickey up as she uses Shadow Ball again. Me: 106/165 HP. She hits with Hypnosis AGAIN, this isn't funny :\ I use the Poké Flute again and she tries to use Nightmare, but fails. She misses with Hypnosis, while I miss with Rock Tomb. Dang it! Sure enough, she hits with Hypnosis next turn. I use the Poké Flute as she fails with Nightmare. She uses Shadow Ball (THANK YOU) while I hit with Rock Tomb and lower her Speed, but the Sitrus Berry activates. Her: 62% or so HP and -1 Speed, Me: 78/165 HP. At least her Speed is lowered, that's a big help. I hit with Rock Tomb again and she hits with Hypnosis, but it should still be all good. Her: 1/3 or so HP and -2 Speed. I switch out for Gulch as she uses Shadow Ball, which doesn't do much at all. Me: 187/214 HP. We both miss with Rock Blast and Hypnosis, then next turn I hit with Rock Blast and kill her with two hits. Ugh, good riddance!
Finally is her Arbok. She gets off Intimidate, but she misses with Iron Tail and I kill her in one hit with Earthquake even after Intimidate.
Freaking Gengar… Keep hitting with Hypnosis and avoid my attacks, why don't you?

Lance overview:
Team entering the fight: Same as before, except i'm leading with Coleman. All others remain unchanged.
He starts off with Gyarados while I open with Coleman, and he gets off Intimidate. I use Thunderbolt, which kills him in one hit.
Next up is his Aerodactyl. I switch out for Mickey as he uses Wing Attack, but that doesn't do much at all. Me: 136/165 HP. He uses it again as I hit him with Rock Tomb. Him: 60% or so HP and -1 Speed, Me: 104/165 HP. He uses Scary Face while I go for Sand-Attack. Then he hits with Wing Attack while I use Sand-Attack again. Him: 60% or so HP, -1 Speed and -2 Accuracy, Me: 73/165 HP and -1 Speed. I switch out for Gulch as he uses Wing Attack for pathetic damage. Me: 199/214 HP. We both miss with AncientPower and Rock Blast. He hits for hardly anything, while I hit with Rock Blast and kill him with two hits. Me: 185/214 HP.
After that is one of his Dragonairs. He uses Safeguard, then I kill him in one hit with Earthquake.
Following that is his next Dragonair. He uses Outrage, but I live and kill him with Earthquake. Me: 110/214 HP.
Finally is his Dragonite. I use a Hyper Potion, then he hits with Outrage, but it does half on the dot. Me: 107/214 HP. Yeah, don't want to chance that. I use a Hyper Potion, and he does more than half. Me: 90/214 HP. I accidentally use a Hyper Potion on Mickey (meant to send in Punchy as death fodder) then he kills me. So I send in Mickey, and his Safeguard wears off - perfect timing, because he becomes confused due to fatigue. I use Rock Tomb and lower his Speed, as he hurts himself in confusion. Him: 62% or so HP, -1 Speed and confused. I switch out for Coleman as he hurts himself in confusion again, which activates his Sitrus Berry, but I finish him off next turn with Ice Beam and end the battle.
Well I had the right attacks here, so I was pretty sure I would win this without much issue.

Champion Ginsly overview:
Team entering the fight: Coleman LV59 - Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Dig, Megahorn
Gulch LV59 - Earthquake, Rock Blast, Brick Break, Double-Edge
Hide LV59 - Slash, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Magnitude
Mickey LV59 - Earthquake, Rock Tomb, Slash, Sand-Attack
Punchy LV35 - Strength, Magnitude, Rock Throw, Selfdestruct
Marley LV59 - Fire Blast, Surf, Dig, Superpower

He starts off with Pidgeot while I open with Coleman. I use Thunderbolt, which…gets a critical hit and kills him in one hit. Wow.
Next up is Alakazam. He uses Psychic, which kills me in one hit without a critical hit. So I bring in Mickey, and he uses Reflect, but I lower his Speed with Rock Tomb. Him: 5/6 or so HP and -1 Speed. Then I use Earthquake, which does more than enough for a 2HKO, as he hits hard with Psychic. Him: 1/3 or so HP, Me: 39/165 HP. I kill him with another Earthquake. Mickey grows to Level 60 after that.
After that is Exeggutor. I use a Max Revive on Coleman as I let Mickey be death fodder to a Giga Drain. I send in Marley and use Fire Blast, which does more than half, but he uses Sleep Powder, and his Reflect wears off. Him: 40% or so HP. I use the Poké Flute to wake Marley up, as he uses Giga Drain again, and gains some health, but he's weak enough for me to kill him with another Fire Blast. Me: 128/186 HP.
Next up is Rhydon. I use Surf and kill him in one hit, with a critical hit that I probably didn't need, but you never know. Either way, Marley grows to Level 60 after that.
Following that is Gyarados, who gets off Intimidate. I send in Punchy just as death fodder to a Hydro Pump, then I bring in Coleman and use Thunderbolt, which he survives, and hits with Hydro Pump, which gets a critical hit on the first hit and kills me. Him: 1/6 or so HP. Well, i'm not completely sure if it mattered, but still, not cool. I bring in Gulch, and he uses his Full Restore, then I hit with Rock Blast…which gets three hits, but he barely lives!!!!! Him: 5% or so HP. I use a Revive on Coleman, and he uses another Full Restore, yep. He misses with Hydro Pump, which very well could have saved us the battle right there, and I hit with Double-Edge. Him: 55% or so HP. I switch in Marley for death fodder to a Hydro Pump, then bring in Coleman and kill him with Thunderbolt. Coleman grows to Level 60 after that.
Finally is the star of his show, Charizard. He outspeeds me and kills me with Fire Blast, then I send in Hide. I use Rock Slide, which does well over half…and he flinches! His Sitrus Berry heals him, but I hit with Rock Slide again next turn and kill him, ending the battle. Hide grows to Level 60 after that.
I've always remembered having such an easy time with this battle, but that was back in the day when I would blitz through the game with three or four Pokémon. (I am playing on Set mode, though, that might add to it.) But that was okay, even if I did have to use some items I still had only two Pokémon left, so it was a good battle indeed.

Final team:

Spoiler:
Nidoqueen (F) "Marley", Level 60
Nature: Rash
Moves: Superpower, Surf, Dig, Fire Blast

Nidoking (M) "Coleman", Level 60
Nature: Mild
Moves: Thunderbolt, Megahorn, Dig, Ice Beam

Moves: Earthquake, Rock Blast, Brick Break, Double-Edge

Graveler (M) "Punchy", Level 35
Nature: Serious

Moves: Magnitude, Selfdestruct, Rock Throw, Mega Punch

SoulSilver Ground Monotype, Update #2

Spoiler:
-The Togepi egg hatched.
-Got HM01 for Cut in Ilex Forest and found one of the Kimono Girls there.
-Went through Route 34 and arrived in Goldenrod City.
-Since my Geodude's nickname apparently had something inappropriate, I changed it to Marhaus.
-Got the Radio Card at the Radio Tower.
-Spent around an hour at the Game Corner getting 10,000 coins for a TM24 for Thunderbolt.
-Caught a NidoranM on Route 35 named Gareth and taught him Thunderbolt. Since i'll only be getting one Moon Stone until near the end of Johto (at the Ruins of Alph unless I get extremely lucky with a Clefairy), I didn't bother getting NidoranF yet.
-Beat all the trainers on Route 35. In doing so, Gareth evolved into Nidorino and Arcana evolved into Quagsire.
-Soloed the trainers in the Goldenrod Gym with Rocky.
-Challenged the Gym Leader, Whitney!

Goldenrod Gym overview:
Team entering the fight: Gareth LV17 - Thunderbolt, Peck, Focus Energy, Double Kick
Arcana LV20 - Mud Shot, Water Gun, Headbutt, Tail Whip
Rocky LV18 - Tackle, Rock Tomb, Headbutt, Screech
Marhaus LV18 - Rock Polish, Selfdestruct, Magnitude, Rock Throw

She starts off with Clefairy while I open with Gareth. I use Double Kick, which looks to do half, while she misses with DoubleSlap. Her: 1/2 or so HP. I hit her with Double Kick again, and become infatuated on the first hit, but it doesn't matter because I kill her with the second.
After that is her ace, of course, Miltank. She uses Stomp, which does just less than half, while I go for Double Kick, which doesn't do much at all. Her: 4/5 or so HP, Me: 28/52 HP. I stay in, and she uses Attract, grrrrr. And Gareth is immobilized. I stay in hoping maybe Poison Point will get rid of that Lum Berry, and she uses Stomp, but again no dice at all. Me: 7/52 HP. So I switch out to Arcana as she uses Rollout, which does nothing. Me: 68/70 HP. She hits the second time while I use Mud Shot to lower her Speed. Her: 58% or so HP and -1 Speed, Me: 64/70 HP. The third hit does slightly more, but still a pathetic amount, while Mud Shot gets a critical hit and kills her, ending the battle. Gareth grows to Level 18 after that.
I guess that turned out well enough, was not expecting the critical hit on Miltank but I certainly welcome it. And please don't go "Y U OVERLEVEL", that Miltank can be hard, and although I did have two Rock-types to take its attacks, I was battling every trainer on the surrounding routes, and Arcana had a lot of EXP from when I was only using her and Marheus, so yeah.

-Got the SquirtBottle from the woman at the Flower Shop.
-Got the Hard Stone from Arthur (hey, that's my character's name too) of Thursday on Route 36.
-Beat Sudowoodo and got the Berry Pots.
-Got the Bicycle at Goldenrod City.
-Went through National Park and Routes 36 and 37, beating all the trainers there.
-Arrived in Ecruteak City.
-Saved the Kimono Girl at the Dance Theater and got HM03 for Surf.
-Went to the Burned Tower and beat Merlin, who overall wasn't hard. And the rest of the trainers.
-Got HM04 for Strength on Route 42.
-Beat the trainers on Route 38 and 39 to get some EXP, and some wild Pokémon (screw training in this game…).
-Met with Baoba on Route 39.
-Beat all the trainers in the Ecruteak Gym - Arcana did nearly all the work there, but Gareth fought a bit also. Some of them were laughably stupid.
-Challenged the Gym Leader, Morty!

This is actually my second attempt, first time I had Amnesia against Gengar, but he killed me with a critical hit and then killed all my others in one hit with Shadow Ball. So let's try this again!

Ecruteak Gym overview:
Team entering the fight: Arcana LV25 / Quick Claw - Surf, Amnesia, Mud Shot, Water Gun
Gareth LV24 - Thunderbolt, Peck, Focus Energy, Double Kick
Marhaus LV22 - Rock Throw, Magnitude, Selfdestruct, Rock Polish
Rocky LV23 - Tackle, Headbutt, Rock Tomb, Screech

He starts off with Gastly while I open with Arcana. The Quick Claw activates first turn and I use Amnesia, while he uses Lick, which paralyzes me on the first hit, of course. But at least I can't be put to sleep while i'm paralyzed. Me: 83/86 HP, +2 Sp Def and paralyzed. He uses Curse, while I get fully paralyzed. Me: 62/86 HP. He uses Mean Look, but I hit through paralysis and kill him with Surf. Me: 41/86 HP.
Next up is Gengar. Already? Ugh…I use an X Sp. Def as he uses Shadow Ball, which, even with +3 Sp Def, is enough to kill me after the Curse. Both Rocky and Marhaus are killed in one hit, while on the latter's turn I use a Revive, then Gareth lives with 3 HP while I heal up Arcana with a Fresh Water, but it doesn't matter because he dies next turn. The Quick Claw activates and I use Quick Claw while he misses with Hypnosis. He uses Sucker Punch (how pathetic) while I use Surf…which gets a critical hit and leaves him with like a sliver of health!!! Then his Sitrus Berry activates. Him: 1/4 HP, Me: 72/86 HP and +2 Sp Def. He uses Shadow Ball, but I manage to kill him with Surf. Me: 48/86 HP.
After that is his weaker Haunter. He hits with Hypnosis, but I use an Awakening next turn, so he fails with Dream Eater. He hits with it again (ARE YOU SERIOUS?!) and I have no Awakenings left. He uses Dream Eater, but thankfully since I used Amnesia it doesn't do much at all. Me: 36/86 HP, +2 Sp Def and asleep. Same thing next turn. Me: 23/86 HP, +2 Sp Def and asleep. He uses it again, and I wake up next turn and use Surf, but he barely lives! Him: 10% or so HP, Me: 11/86 HP and +2 Sp Def. He uses his Hyper Potion while I use a Lemonade. He hits with Hypnosis AGAIN (!!!!!!!!!!) and i'm put asleep. Dream Eater. Me: 73/86 HP. He uses it again, and I wake up, and leave him with 1 HP. Him: 1 HP, Me: 62/86 HP. He hits with Hypnosis AGAIN! That's just stupid. BUT, the Quick Claw activates AND I wake up, killing him with Surf. Thankfully I didn't get the critical hit there, I would have raged had that happened. Arcana grows to Level 26 after that.
Finally is his stronger Haunter, which thankfully doesn't have much in the way of attacking. He uses Curse, which allows me to kill him with Surf, ending the battle.
Three words: NEVER. EVER. AGAIN. That's all I can say to describe this battle. Seriously, could that have been any less fun? Thank god I got that critical hit on Gengar, or that would have been even worse. He deserved that, honestly. And I would not have won had it not been for that Quick Claw, either.
