Introduction

Welcome to the thread of Pokemon Azure Ocean. The game is a combination of 2 games that I was developing. But as I don't have as much time as I used to have, I had to combine them and left out the custom tiles. Therefore I'm using FR/LG Style now so the game can progress faster. And I also love FR tiles and graphics so I really love to work with them. I'm planing to make a new adventure set in gen 3 style. I rarely see anyone using the gen 3 style of maps so I think this game could stand out a bit, and I hope that's a good thing.


Storyline

First to clear things up, I'm sticking with the official game story formula. So there probably won't be anything like a "WOW" factor or something. I'm a big fan of official simple story's and I want to make a game as close to this but still there will be quite some things that don't usally happen in Pokemon games.

After turning age 14 in Aspira Region , you are allowed to get your first Pokemon from local Professor, Maisie Pear. Its a good day for you and two of your friends since you've just turned 14 and are getting an letter from Professor Pear to meet her in her Lab in Begonia Town. After getting your first partner Pokemon your adventure in Aspira region begins. While you are training with your friends to beat the 8 gym's and attend the Aspira Region league you come across an evil organisation which are hidding a valuable item. The leader of the team presents himself as A and he seems to be somehow connected to you and your family...who knows what will happen!

Features

Gen III Style: Nice graphics from FR/LG and RSE and small bits from DPPT
New Region: In Aspira region you will find many, many awesome places to explore
Old Characters: You will meet some of the characters from other regions who's are starting a new adventure in Aspira
Quests: You're about to helpe people around Aspira Region to get items you need in your adventure
New Attacks and HM's: In Aspira you will find new attacks that your Pokemon can learn and also new HM's which are secretly hidden around the whole region, but you'll need them for sure!

Hello everyone.

I've updated the first post with screenshots featuring new overworld sprite for a hero.
Most of it was done by my amazing friend FlodgyPleb.


Update!

First we have an early Aspira Region map, which will be changed in future when more stuff is added.


In that screenshot we can see a branch of Weather Institute from Hoenn Region on route 3. It appears to be code-locked in the beggining of the game.

I remember seeing this on DeviantArt yesterday.
I like the use of the FR/LG tiles, always been my favourite.
Good luck with it.

Oh and in the screenshot with Brendan there's an NPC on
a building.

Thank you! Yep FR/LG tiles are my favourite too and its really a shame there is no more games with FR/LG tiles.

Oh thanks for pointing that out! Fixed, and reuploaded the new screenshoot.

I will keep them yes! I love them too <3

No the screensize is the orginal of Essentials, meaning its 256x192

Small Update!


You get your bike in Azure Ocean really early in game, just after you got your first gym and traveled through Calanthea Woods and Route 3.

Yes there is. But not so early in the game. I guess around gym 4 or so

The game looks nice with the FRLG tiles and the story seems to have a small twist with the family relation. Anyway, I'm interested how the sidequests will work.

Yep the Battle UI is staying though it be edited a bit to fit the new resolution and I might also use BW sprites but that's about it really much because I really like it!
