Of the 18 gym leaders we face off against in Generations 1 and 2 who were some of your favorites? My personal favorite was Blaine, the 7th. gym leader in Pokémon Red! One of my favorite Pokémon of all time, Magmar, was introduced and I loved how his gym looked before it was destroyed. I also loved the idea of a Gym being inside of a volcano, that was genius!

Besides Blaine's gym I also really liked versing Lt. Surge! His tough guy, army exterior really was intimidating at first! I had fun facing up against his tough Pokémon team, his Raichu was a real pain in the butt to defeat if you didn't have the right Pokémon. Furthermore, he went in to talking about a War which could have indicated a Pokémon war, which would be totally cool (a topic for an entirely different thread).Besides these two, I really enjoyed Whitney the gym leader in Johto. Don't let her cuteness fool you, she was a fiery competitor until you defeated her. I really liked the attitude of this gym leader and besides Goldenrod City being my favorite town, this was probably my favorite gym leader in Johto.

Furthermore, did you feel like there was more of a challenge versing the Kanto gyms in R/B/G/Y or G/S/C? Share experiences and your opinions below!

From generation two, I'd say Clair, since she was the toughest for me to go up against. Plus, she's also related to Lance, which makes her even more special, haha. Whitney wasn't that easy, either. As for Kanto, I'd say Blue.

Awesome picture!

My favorites are Lt. Surge (you baby!), Sabrina, and Clair. I was SO obsessed with Clair when I was younger, like I wanted to dress like her and everything. #NoShame

Morty is my favourite of the gym leaders. He uses one of my favourite types, uses one of my favourite Pokemon lines, and has an awesome scarf. I'd buy that scarf off him if I could, it's sexy.
I think it was more of a challenge to battle the Kanto leaders in the 2nd generation, due to them being able to have more Pokemon since the new generation was introduced. It just made the challenge more unexpected, and along with having Pokemon at around level 42 and above, it made them a formidable force.

I picked two, one from Johto and Kanto. Sabrina and Clair are my favourites, not entierly sure why but I like their style and the Pokémon they use. n_n

I liked Falkner's character design a lot. Even though he was the first gym leader, he exuded a lot of confidence and knowledge of Pokemon, and wasn't that easy either, although that may have been because of how underleveled I was for him. Morty and Clair are honorable mentions, Morty because of his gym's design, and Clair because of how difficult it is to defeat her, haha.

Going with one choice from each region, I picked Blaine and Jasmine. Blaine always had my favorite Gym puzzle when I was younger with all the quiz questions, and I wish we would've seen some of sort of recreation of it in G/S/C. Yeah, I know that his Gym was destroyed by the volcano, but he could have just had other trainers ask the questions to the player instead of using the machines.

As for Jasmine, she's always been my favorite Gym Leader overall. For the kind and caring personality that she has, the last thing you'd expect her to be a master of is Steel type Pokemon. Neither of these two I found particularly difficult to battle, but I loved their character more than anything.

I really like Koga, he even became an E4 member in Gen 2.

I also love how in HGSS when you battle Blaine, he removes his hat to show his head sparkle

Lt. Surge takes the place of my favorite generation one gym leader! Raichu is one of my very favorite generation one Pokemon, and I've always considered him the 'Raichu master'. So that makes me like him even more! Also when I was little I watched the episodes of Lt. Surge's battle with Ash over and over. It made me really like him and he gives me a lot of nostalgia.

And we've got Jasmine for generation two as my favorite! While I can't say I'm a huge fan of steel types, I've always loved her 'frail and fragile' design. She's shy and cute, until she's on the battle field. That's my favorite aspect of her.

I mean look how awesome her change of expression is here! She's such a bad ass. XD

I chose Morty.

I am a fan of Ghost Types (not particularly the Gastly line) and Morty has a great outfit. He kind of reminds me of Wallace, but I love his purple clothes and his scarves.

I prefer more of the Johto gym leaders because of nostalgic reasons, but also because I liked their designs better. Jasmine, Busy and Fawkner I like the most because of their simplistic design. The Kanto gym leaders never really struck me in the same way, except for maybe Blue who is cool as ♥♥♥♥!

Clair's probably the most consistent challenging fight, but her whole tantrum after the fact just makes me want to shove her in the lava. I'd probably go with Giovanni, since you get somewhat more satisfaction from beating him, him being the boss of Team Rocket and all.

In Kanto, I'd say Sabrina. I found her cool with her psychic powers and stuff, and she definitely was a challenge in the games. At least she was fun to battle, haha. :) As for Johto, it's really hard for me to choose, because I almost like everyone there, but I guess I'd choose Morty! I preferred his HGSS version more, makes him seem more like a ghost specialist, so counting that - he's my favorite since I like his design.
