Gen 5 ban list

Here is the current ban list for gen 5 for B/W play on the PO server. This is a list of banned Pokemon in various tiers, they overpower and overwhelm the metagame with their combined ridiculous bulk, abilities, power and movepools. These Pokemon, items and abilities lack clear cut checks and counters and can overpower any they do have with little effort. Each are banned for a very good reason.

This is Smogons current ban list which PC follows with some aspects of Pokemon Onlines ban list too, namely Shadow Tag Chandelure as Smogon isn't interested in Dream World bans at this current time. Smogon doesn't have ALL of this up so will be useful as a resource, especially for newer players. This also tells players which Pokemon are unreleased currently which means they are banned on the Wifi standard ladders.

Ability based bans

The ability Moody (aka "Inconsistent") is banned in ALL tiers, even Ubers.

Shadow Tag Chandelure is banned in OU, Dreamworld and any tiers below.

The Swift Swim and and Drizzle abilities ARE NOT permitted on the same team and are banned in standard play. However you may use them separately. In ubers this combination of abilities is fine on the same team however.

Banned Items:
Bright Powder/Lax Incense

Moves:
All moves that increase Evasion only (e.g. Minimize)

All instant OHKO moves (e.g. Horn Drill)

UU Bans.

All of the above applies obviously along with all OU Pokemon being unable to be used in UU.

Ability based bans
The ability Drought is also banned and may NOT be used in UU matches.

Just to let people know, this will be updated with each round of suspect nominations, if a Pokemon receives alot of nominations it will be banned until voting has taken place to decide their final fate on smogon and then will stay banned or be unbanned accordingly. This is to save hassle and prevent problematic Pokemon causing issues.
