3rd Gen Hoenn/Kanto Journey Journal - Want to share your travelling stories?

I re-started FR this week. So far I have just returned to Viridian City after gaining 7 badges and now preparing for the Viridian Gym and the Earth Badge.

My current team:

Vaporeon @ Lv.44 w/ Aurora Beam, Bite, Quick Attack and Surf
Haunter @ Lv.45 w/ Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, Hypnosis and Dream Eater

I know the move-sets can be better but I've made some mistakes and this is only in-game anyways.

Re-started Emerald - Pokemon X just got me in the mood for it...

Notable moments:

- Received a Torchic!
- Captured many pokemon, including a Poochyena, who is now part of my team.
- Defeated Team Aqua 3 times: Petalburg Forest, Rusturf Tunnel, Slateport Oceanic Museum. In the latter, I met the boss man! ... .. sadly he wouldn't battle me...
- Was brutally defeated and robbed by that evil "schoolgirl" called Roxanne. I had to recall Shroomish to defeat her. And even it went down eventually.
- Torchic evolved!
- Defeated May...god, she's such a stalker....
- Lost to Brawly. 10 times. 11th time, I managed to take him out, ironically with Poochyena's Bite delivering the final blow.
- Found Steven, who then left the cave. Dunno why he didn't do that first, and save me some problems...
- Travelled to Slateport City. All the evil people kept throwing water at me and my Combusken, so I ran straight through, caught the first electric pokemon I could (Electrike) and then returned to the beach. However, he turned out to be startlingly weak, due to knowing no electric-type attacks. So, I gave him an exp. share, and trained Poochyena.
- Poochyena evolved after defeating Team Pirates Aqua!
- Went to this place called Battle Tent, that Scott guy was there...cruel man gave me encouragement, knowing full well that I'd lose. Horrifically. I swear that place was fixed..

Okm so this is the third time I've restarted sapphire, because my teams were always just too terrible. But I've got a plan this time!
Anyway, so I started out with Treecko
Beat May
Got Pokedex and Pokeballs
Caught Ralts
Switchout trained it.
When it reached level 6 and learned confusion, then I moved on to the next town.
Supervised Wally catching a pokemon.
Found out my dad wouldn't challenge me... (I did know that all along, btw)
Leveled up Ralts to 8 so that I knew for sure I could OHKO all the Wurmples on that first guy in Petalburg woods (they can usually survive one confusion from a level 7)
Beat Team Aqua in Petalburg woods.
Got a great ball from the Devon guy as thanks
Trained everything up to level 11 for the gym.
Caught a Slakoth and traded it for a Makuhita
Trained it.
Beat the gym
boxed Makit because it quit obeying me in the gym.
Saved the Devon guy from team Aqua, again...

I bought LeafGreen off someone and they already had a save game up and running so I decided to keep going and capture all the legendaries and transfer it to my Pearl before I restart the game. But since the only Masterball has already been used up, I'd have to now use ultra balls :(

Just caught a Moltres as we speak - have been trying half the day to catch it. I shouted "**** YEA" as soon as it was caught :D

- As Saffron have 6th and I cleared the Cinnabar Island with 7h badge, my Hurricane's Bite 1-2 hit K.O-ed Sabrina's Pokemon except Venomoth which unfortunately isn't weak to Dark. Venomoth confused Hurricane and this caused a trouble.
- "Bought" bicycle.
- Defeated Giovanni at gym. His final Pokemon was at 50lvl which is MUCH as it was just 5 levels lower than Hurricane.

Been taking a break from Gen III to play HeartGold, but I decided to go back to LeafGreen to finish the main storyline. I forgot how awesome my team was, though.....

- Travelled through Victory Road to the Indigo Plateau, teaching Rhydon the awesome technique of Double-Edge just before exiting.
- Defeated Lorelei of the Elite Four after a fairly straightforward battle.
- Defeated Bruno of the Elite Four after a relatively easy battle.
- Defeated Agatha of the Elite Four after an extremely tough battle.
- Defeated by Lance of the Elite Four. He completely cleaned me up.
- Re-challenged the Elite Four, this time defeating Lance after a tough battle.
- After a battle of epic proportions, defeated the Champion, Blue.

Caught in the Safari Zone as a Rhyhorn, this thing helped obliterate Koga of Fuchsia City Gym with its' powerful Dig. Since then, it has evolved to become a true powerhouse of the team, taking no recoil from its' Double Edge, and sporting Earthquake and Rock Slide to deal massive damage to anything else. Iron Tail proved necessary in defeated Lorelei of the Elite Four, however its' shaky accuracy has cost us dearly in many battles.

Liberated from Silph Co. this Lapras provides vital transport over water, and with an immunity to water attacks, usually makes the most of Rhydon's weaknesses. With Toxic and Rest, anything that can't be defeated with brute force, can usually be dealt with by the art of stalling.

Unlike most of its' species, which are very savage, Magmar does not go out of his way to attack others. However, he is very reliable, and capable of dealing out massive damage with his Flamethrower and Psychic attacks, aswell as moving boulders out of the way with his Strength attack, single-handedly allowing me to pass through Victory Road.

Mainly used for aerial transport, unable to be deterred by accuracy-lowering moves such as Smokescreen and Sand Attack, the ever-happy Pidgeot found a niche in my team, and now, with Quick Attack to finish off weakened pokemon, and Steel Wing and Hyper Beam dealing out massive damage. However, it proved little use overall in my Pokemon League challenge, and may be swapped for something else when I next go exploring.

I beat Juan this morning using my Skarmory and my Swampert. Skarmory, herself, brought down two of his Pokemon before the stupid Sealeo killed Skarmory. I brought in Aggron who got Sealeo down to the red, but then died (I was pissed off. That was the first time that happened to my Aggron and it'll probably happen again since the Champion is Wallace). Swampert came in and Ice Beamed the Crawdaunt and the Kingdra easily.

Now I'm just training for the Elite Four. Hopefully I'll have them all successfully trained by tomorrow night. It's going to be hard though... Skarmory and Aggron are a pain to train, but I'm also going to catch a Mawile and I imagine that to be even harder.
