Can I clone my game by removing the memory card during play, putting a different one in, and then going and saving at the computer?

Are there any special pokemon that have moves they wouldnt otherwise be able to learn. I'm remembering Pikachu with Surf and Gligar with Earthquake from Stadium and was wondering if there was any similar things like that and what they were.

Does anyone know what to do after you beat everyone in Pyrite?
I looked everywhere for anything else to do, but I had no luck.

If you're at the beggining of the game, go to the colloseum and beat it. You'll get TM Toxic. Then get out and some guy will take you to a dungeon. Finish the dungeon, and the story will continue.
P.S: Get ready before getting to the dungeon.

Pokemon XD:Gale of Darkness FAQ

The Purification Chamber is an amazing feature of Pokemon XD, allowing you to purify up to 9 Shadow Pokemon more quickly than you could before! Using it can be a bit confusing, so I've made this guide to help.

The Chamber contains 9 "sets", each allowing for one Shadow Pokemon, and 4 Regular Pokemon to be placed within them.

On the left side, you'll notice a bar labeled "Tempo." The more Regular Pokemon placed around the Shadow Pokemon, the greater the Tempo becomes. You'll want to maximize this to help increase the purificaiton speed. To accomplish this, you'll have to achieve a "Best Circle"

A Best Circle is achieved when each pokemon in the chain has a type advantage over the other. For example, I want to Purify a Shadow Swellow. It is a Normal/Flying. Take note that a Normal type has no type advantage over any Pokemon, so let's get that out the way. To start off our Best Circle, we want Swellow to point to, oh........say a Regular Grass type. At this time, note that there are flashing lights in the set's circle. These lights flow in the same direction these show the direction in which each Pokemon would have to have an advantage over another. For example:

If an arrow was pointed this way....

-> -> -> ->

Then the order in which the Pokemon would have to have a Type advantage over the next would be....

Flying -> Grass -> Ground ->Rock

Sadly I can't provide a good enough visual example, so simply remember that each type has to have a clear type advantage over the next, all around the circle, to gain a Max Tempo. Also keep in mind that if two pokemon in a set have the same type, then the Tempo will not maximize.

But to try and prevent confusion, let's continue my example.
We're purifying a Shadow Swellow. Let's put the following Regular Pokemon in the Circle in this order:

Exeggutor -> Rhydon -> Walrein -> Magmar

None of these pokemon are the same type, and the form a complete circle where each Pokemon has a type advantage over the other. Have Swellow face Exeggutor (Flying > Grass) and you have a Best Circle!

On the right side, you'll notice a meter labeled "Flow." This is the actual speed of the purfication (So Tempo basically helps boost the speed). In order to maximize this, all 9 sets must have achieved a Best Circle. Mastering the Flow and Tempo will make your purification process alot faster than battling.

PURIFYING SHADOW LUGIA

Yes, most of us all yearn to purify this thing. If you haven't read the info above, do so now.

Step 1: Place lugia in a set.
Step 2: Create a Best Circle in that set.
Step 3: Create a Best Circle in the other 8 sets.

The Shadow Lugia's Heart Guage will instantly turn completely white. Now complete the Purification Ceremony and you'll have a Regular Lugia with Aeroblast, Psycho Boost, Featherdance, and Earthquake.

Sounds simple, but the process requires multiple Shadow Pokemon to be purified, or for multiple Regular Pokemon traded over, so the process will start out slow, then quicken over time.

1. Introduction
###############################################################################

Thank you for choosing to read my FAQ/Walkthrough for Pokemon XD: Gale of
Darkness. This FAQ may be in its early stages, but eventually it will contain
everything you need (and more!) to fully complete the game. After seeing on
the GameFAQs message boards that people were asking a lot of questions about
this game, I decided to write this FAQ to answer them.

Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness takes place five years after the first GameCube
Pokemon game, Pokemon Colosseum. An ex-member of Team Snagem and a girl who
had a special ability to see Shadow Pokemon both managed to thwart the evil
Cipher organisation's plans to take over the world. Cipher supposedly
disbanded shortly afterwards, but now it seems they're back. It's now up to
you to defeat Cipher once again and restore peace to the Orre Region.

4. Story Mode Walkthrough

After selecting "New Game", the Name Screen will appear. After you've named
the Main Character, you'll start the game inside the Pokemon HQ. However, just
before that, the S.S. Libra is seen sailing across the ocean. Suddenly,
members of the notorious Cipher organisation arrive on the scene in their
helicopters. Shadow Lugia, a mysterious Shadow Pokemon, lifts the S.S. Libra
into the sky and makes its escape, with the Cipher members following behind.
The confused Captain and his crew are left stranded in the ocean.

===============================================================================
A. Pokemon HQ
===============================================================================

When you gain control of the Main Character, you will be in a battle with Sim
Trainer Jadlet. Although the Metagross has a high ATK, a couple of Earthquakes
from your Salamence should be able to defeat it, since Metagross is weak to
Ground-Type attacks. In addition, Salamence has faster Speed than Metagross,
so you'll probably end this battle after 2 turns.

After the Battle Sim finishes, you'll appear in the Pokemon HQ building. While
you may have thought you had a Lvl 50 Salamence in your Party, you actually
have a Lvl 10 Eevee. If you want to practice battling, Battle Sims can help to
master the basics.

You can make your way around the Pokemon Lab and talk with the scientists.
They will tell you information, which may be helpful to you. Outside the
building, you'll notice that there are two entrances to the left and right.
The former leads to your room, while the latter takes you to the Purify
Chamber, which will be important for Purifying your Shadow Pokemon later on in
the game.

If you take the elevator to the second floor and enter Professor Krane's
office, Lily (your mother) will ask you to find Jovi (your sister), as she has
been gone for a while. Professor Krane asks you to take the P*DA he left in
your room. Go down the elevator and head through the entrance to the left.
Enter your room and grab the P*DA on the desk. While you're there, you can
also take the 3 Potions in the chest nearby.

If you try to leave the room, you'll recieve an e-mail from Professor Krane.
He informs you that he last saw Jovi playing hide-and-seek with Adan, so it
probably would be a good idea to speak with him. Go to the second floor and
enter the room south of the Lounge. (The Lounge is the room where the
television, Psyduck and Quagsire are.) Adan is hiding under the table.

Have a look at Professor Krane's e-mail. Adan emerges from his hiding place
and suggests that you travel to Dr. Kaminko's House. Jovi's friend, Chobin,
lives there, so she might have gone there to visit him. Adan says that it's
a big, weird house southeast of the Pokemon HQ. Since the location is now
marked on the World Map, you can make your way there and collect Jovi.

===============================================================================
B. Dr. Kaminko's House
===============================================================================

As you head for Dr. Kaminko's House, Kaminko Aide Chobin will battle you.
He thinks that you're a burglar, so you must defeat him to prove otherwise.
Since Chobin's Sunkern is at Lvl 5, you will have an advantage. Use your
Eevee's Tackle attack to defeat it after a few turns.

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
KAMINKO AIDE CHOBIN

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

After the battle, Chobin realises that you're Jovi's brother, and admits that
Jovi is inside the house. Once Chobin shows you a few of Dr. Kaminko's weird
inventions, you can go through the door to your left to find Jovi. Your sister
temporaily joins your party, so you can now go back to the Pokemon HQ.

Outside the Pokemon HQ, you can challenge Super Trainer Aferd to practice your
battling skills. After defeating him, go inside the building and head
upstairs. You'll notice that Professor Krane isn't in his office. Speak with
the old man, and he'll mention that the Professor went downstairs a while ago.
Take the elevator downstairs, and you'll find him in the room opposite the
Purify Chamber.

It seems the scientists have finished completing their latest invention, the
Snag Machine. Shadow Pokemon are victims of criminals who use them for
misdeeds. The most effective means of taking such Pokemon from criminals is
to use the Snag Machine developed by Cipher five years ago. It is an
unforgiveable act among Trainers to steal another Trainer's Pokemon, but there
is no other way to save the Shadow Pokemon. The Aura Reader's development made
it possible to create a workable new Snag Machine. The Aura Reader can be made
to sound a warning and prevent the Snag Machine from working if a regular,
non-Shadow Pokemon is targeted.

Unfortunately, just as you put the Snag Machine on your arm, Professor Krane is
kidnapped by a group of Cipher Peons. Exit the Pokemon HQ, and you'll see the
group preparing to make their getaway. As you attempt to stop them, Spy Naps
battles you. When he sends out his Shadow Teddiursa, simply throw a Poke Ball
to Snag it. However, in later battles, you'll have to weaken a Shadow Pokemon
if you want to Snag it.

After the battle, the Cipher Peons escape with Professor Krane. Even without
the Professor's assistance, Lily makes the decision to continue working on
completing the Purify Chamber. She has ordered a Machine Part for the Purify
Chamber from the Parts Shop in Gateon Port.

===============================================================================
C. Gateon Port
===============================================================================

As you enter Gateon Port, Jovi runs past you and accidentally bumps into Thug
Zook. Zook complains that Jovi has messed up his hair, and threatens to set
his Shadow Zangoose on her. Fortunately, Zook is interupted by Mr. Verich and
his bodyguards. One of the bodyguards, Mystery Man Ardos, orders his
Alakazam to attack Zook's Zangoose, defeating it instantly.

When Mr. Verich and his bodyguards leave the scene, head left to reach the
Parts Shop. On your way there, you'll meet Emili (Jovi's friend) and her
mother Acri. Inside the Parts Shop, you'll notice that the shopkeeper isn't
there.

If you talk to the person nearby, he'll offer to give you one of five
Evolution Items, because you have a rare Eevee, which can evolve into four
different forms. A Water Stone evolves Eevee into a Vaporeon, Thunderstone
Jolteon, Fire Stone Flareon, Moon Shard Umbreon, and Sun Shard Espeon. While
the Stones can evolve Eevee right away, you must wait until your Eevee levels
up before it can evolve into either Umbreon or Espeon.

In my opinion, Espeon is the best Eevee evolution, as it can learn powerful
Psychic-Type and Dark-Type attacks. Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon can learn
good attacks. Umbreon, however, isn't as good as the latter four, since its
Attack is low, but it does have excellent Defence. If you want to breeze
through the game, I suggest choosing Espeon, as most Pokemon aren't resistant
to its attacks.

The Hexagon Brothers are guarding the entrance to the Cipher Lab, so you must
defeat one of them before you can enter the building. Although you can just
defeat one Hexagon Brother, I advice battling all six of them to help level up
your Pokemon. Also, you can Snag some good Shadow Pokemon, such as Houndour
and Mareep, that will be a good addition to your party.

Once you've defeated the Hexagon Brothers, go through the western entrance.
Use the Restore Machine to heal your Pokemon before heading for the elevator.
Whenever your Pokemon are low on health, you can return here to heal them, so
you don't have to spend money on Super Potions if you don't have enough cash.
Head for the elevator, and you'll be ambushed by Cipher Peon Corla. She
challenges you to a battle, so defeat her to continue onward.

Don't use Thunder Wave though, as Taillow's Guts Ability increases its ATK if
its paralyzed, poisoned or burned.

to co-operate, but Lovrina believes that he will in time and orders her
brother, Cipher Peon Naps, to keep an eye on him, while she puts the finishing
touches to XD001.

When you regain control of the Main Character, continue going south to be

Once you defeat Lovrina, she takes the elevator and escapes. However, while
she was hurrying, she dropped a Data ROM. Pick it up. It contains information
about Cipher's Shadow Pokemon plan.

As you leave the Cipher Lab, you'll see the Hexagon Brothers outside. You can
battle them again to gain EXP. Points and Snag any Shadow Pokemon you failed
to capture from them.

When you return to the Pokemon HQ, you'll learn that the Purify Chamber has
finally been completed. Professor Krane asks you to test out the machine,
so walk onto it to be sent to the Purify Chamber screen. Now exit the screen.
From this point in the game, you can access the Purify Chamber in the Pokemon
HQ and at any PC Station. However, in order to Purify a Shadow Pokemon, you
must go to the Pokemon HQ.

Once captured, Shadow Pokemon must have their hearts reopened in a process
called Purification so that they may return to their normal state. The
best-known method of Purification is to have the Shadow Pokemon spend time with
a Trainer and allow their hearts to gradually reopen. The Purify Chamber is a
radical new concept that differs from the usual Purification method of having a
Pokemon with a Trainer constantly. It represents a new approach that places
Shadow Pokemon among regular Pokemon so that they become Purified naturally.

Lily asks you to check how Datan is doing in his office upstairs. He's
currently investigating the Data ROM, but he isn't in his office. He's
actually outside the Pokemon HQ. If you talk to him, he'll admit that the
contents of the Data ROM are heavily protected, so Professor Krane asks you to
deliver it to OBNS in Pyrite Town.

As you enter Secc's office, you'll hear Cipher Commander Exol saying it

With OBNS Headquarters liberated from Cipher, Nett reveals that he was able to
learn some information before the Data ROM was taken. For instance, Cipher
was behind the disappearance of the S.S. Libra. Also, it seems the
organisation is planning an attack on Phenac City. Marcia, an OBNS reporter,
has gone there to investigate why the town's communication systems are down.
Nett asks you to inform the Mayor of Phenac City about Cipher's coming attack.

It seems Cipher's members are secretly taking the places of prominent members
of the community! The housekeeper confronts you and reveals that she is

Fortunately, Team Snagem arrives on the scene. Snagem Member Wakin uses his

you to continue onward, saying Team Snagem will step in when Cipher is
finally defeated. Now's your chance to enter the Cipher Key Lair.

As you enter the Cipher Key Lair, you'll notice some workers inside. They
won't battle you, so grab the 3 Super Potions and take the eastern route to

Now go up the next elevator and approach Greevil once again. Greevil orders
his other bodyguard, Cipher Admin Eldes, to stop you from proceeding any
further. Eldes wishes he could battle you on better terms, but he is loyal to
his master.

CIPHER ADMIN ELDES
Ninjask, Lvl
Manectric, Lvl (Shadow)
Salamence, Lvl 50 (Shadow)
Flygon, Lvl
Marowak, Lvl (Shadow)
Lapras, Lvl (Shadow)

Strategy:
---------
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

After the battle, take the Max Revive and heal your Pokemon at the Restore
Machine. When you are ready, take the elevator to confront Greevil. You must
defeat him twice in order to complete the game.

When you confront Greevil, he says that you alone derailed every one of
Cipher's well-laid plans - kidnapping Professor Krane, retrieving the Data
ROMs, and the production of Shadow Pokemon in the Cipher Key Lair. Now,
Greevil laughs that it is time to celebrate the completion of his Shadow
Pokemon plan in advance, and orders Shadow Lugia (AKA XD001) to attack you.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
GRAND MASTER GREEVIL
Lugia, Lvl 50 (Shadow)

Strategy:
---------
Shadow Lugia is the most powerful Shadow Pokemon you've had to face so far.
Fortunately, you can simply throw your Master Ball to end this battle as
quickly as it started. If you don't have the Master Ball, you'll have a hard
time weakening Lugia to be able to Snag it due to its excellent Defenses. Try
Paralyzing it to reduce its Speed or putting it to Sleep.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Shocked that you have Snagged his Shadow Lugia, Greevil vows to see to the
destruction of your Pokemon.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
GRAND MASTER GREEVIL
Rhydon, Lvl 50 (Shadow)
Moltres, Lvl 50 (Shadow)
Exeggutor, Lvl 50 (Shadow)
Tauros, Lvl 50 (Shadow)
Articuno, Lvl 50 (Shadow)
Zapdos, Lvl 50 (Shadow)

Strategy:
---------With six Shadow Pokemon in his party, Greevil will be difficult if you don't
have Shadow Pokemon of your own on your team. On your first turn, switch it
Shadow Lugia to counter their Shadow attacks. Concentrate on Snagging
Greevil's non-Legendary Pokemon, such as Rhydon and Tauros, since I was able
to Snag them with 1 or 2 Ultra Balls. Once that's done, you can Snag the
Legendary Birds, but I suggest knocking them out, since they are difficult to
Snag. I advice Snagging them after you complete the game, since you can trade
in some Lvl 100 Legendaries from your Pokemon GBA games to help withstand their
Shadow attacks.

C. Orre Colosseum
===============================================================================

At the Orre Colosseum, Double Battles are conducted. You are permitted to
battle with four Pokemon. Certain kinds of Pokemon are not permitted.
Similarly, Pokemon will be prohibited from holding certain kinds of items. The
battles are held in knockout style. You must beat four Trainers in a row to
win your challenge. If you win a challenge, you may advance to the next group
of opponents. If you lose, you will face the same group of opponents in your
next challenge. If you manage to win a round, you will be rewarded with Poke
Coupons.

Certain kinds of Pokemon are prohibited from competing at the Orre Colosseum.
For example, Shadow Pokemon are strictly prohibited. You may also not enter
two or more of the same kind of Pokemon. The following Pokemon are also
forbidden: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza,
Jirachi, and Deoxys. You will also be required to enter with a full party of
six Pokemon.

Pokemon may not be holding certain kinds of items when they enter. Any Pokemon
holding a Soul Dew will not be allowed to enter. Also, Pokemon are not
permitted to hold the same kinds of items.

At the Orre Colosseum, the opponent's Pokemon will be Lvl 60 if your party of
six Pokemon are Lvl 60 or below. If your Pokemon are above Lvl 60, the
opponent's Pokemon will be the same Lvl as your highest Lvl Pokemon. If you
win the challenge, you will earn a cash prize. In addition, you'll earn a TM
for each of your first four successful challenges. After winning Rounds 1, 2,
3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, you'll recieve TM06 (Toxic), TM27 (Return), TM48
(Skill Swap), TM36 (Sludge Bomb), TM44 (Rest), TM47 (Steel Wing), and TM02
(Dragon Claw) respectively.

A. Wanderer Miror B.
===============================================================================

If a Shadow Pokemon ran away somewhere, you will be able to Snag it from
Wanderer Miror B. He usually shows up at Pyrite Colosseum, Realgam Tower
Colosseum, and the three Poke Spots. At the Colosseums, you can only Snag one
Shadow Pokemon, but you can Snag two of them when you challenge him at the Poke
Spots. If the Miror Radar senses Miror B.'s presence, you can check to see
which location he is in. When Miror B. shows up at the Colosseums, he will
battle you in place of one of the competitors.

B. Lucky Egg
===============================================================================

After you win the first round of the Orre Colosseum, you can do the Lucky Egg
Side Quest. You'll recieve an e-mail from Eagun's wife Beluh. If you go to
Beluh's house in Agate Village, she'll explain that a strange affliction seems
to have taken root among the Pokemon in Agate Village. There are five Pokemon
in Agate Village in total.

After talking to the five Pokemon in Agate Village, go to Dr. Kaminko's House
and speak with him to discover that one of his inventions is behind the strange
affliction. Dr. Kaminko gives you the Voice Case to help the affected Pokemon.
Use it to save the Pokemon in Agate Village, Gateon Port, Phenac City and
Pyrite Town. When you done this, return to Beluh's house and speak with her.
She'll show her appreciation by giving you the Lucky Egg.

The Lucky Egg is an excellent item to equip to your Pokemon if you're planning
to train them for the Orre Colosseum. When the equipped Pokemon recieves
Exp. Points after battling, they'll be multipled by 1.5. In addition, if the
Pokemon was traded to you, they'll be multipled by 1.5 again.

==============================================================================
A. Battle Bingo
==============================================================================

Battle Bingo is a strategy game that is played on a Bingo Card with 16 Panels
arranged in a 4-by-4 grid. The 16 Panels are turned over and exposed one by
one. Flip over Panels to form a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal line to
score a Bingo. Keep forming Bingo lines until all Panels are flipped over or
you run out of moves. If all Panels are flipped over, 10 Bingo lines will be
completed, and you win the game.

At the start of the game, you will have one Pokemon and two Master Balls.
Your Pokemon will also have Entry Points (EP). To flip over a Panel, 1 EP is
required. If all your Pokemon use up their EP, no more Panels can be flipped
over. At that time, it's game over for you.

On the first turn, you may select any 1 of the 16 Panels and flip it over. The
next Panel that can be flipped must be next to an already-flipped-over Panel.
Think ahead and plan the sequence for flipping Panels.

There are two kinds of Panels. One kind is marked with a Pokemon type and the
other with a question mark. If you try to flip a Panel marked with a Pokemon
type, a hidden Pokemon will appear. You must battle this Pokemon with the
Pokemon you entered in the game. The battle will be a strictly one-on-one m
match with no switching of Pokemon. If you win the battle or catch the
opposing Pokemon with a Master Ball, the contested Panel can be flipped over.
If the opposing Pokemon is caught, you may choose it as your own for Panel
battles from the next Panel on. The "?" Panels can be opened just by using 1
EP. They hide EP and Master Balls for the player's use.

If you complete a line of flipped-over Panels, you score a Bingo. You are
awarded a single EP for each Bingo line. If you quit the game before the end,
you are given Poke Coupons matched to the number of Bingo lines you made. If
you complete the Card, you are awarded a bonus for leftover EP and Master Balls
in addition to the regular prize. If all your Pokemon run out of EP, it's game
over since you will no longer be able to flip Panels. In that case, you will
not be given any Poke Coupons that you may have earned in that game.

In the beginning, you can only choose 1 of the 3 Novice Cards. When all 3 are
cleared, the Regular Cards become available. In the same manner, clear the
Regular Cards to access the Expert Cards. When a card is cleared for the first
time, you win a prize. If you choose to play with a Card that has already been
cleared, the positions of the 16 Panels will be shuffled. As a result, you can
enjoy entirely new combinations each time you make a challenge.

===============================================================================
B. Battle CDs
===============================================================================

You may conduct Battle Sims using Battle CDs here. Set your Battle CD in the
device. That's all you need to do to take on a virtual Trainer in battle.
Each Battle CD contains Pokemon for you to use. You'll be sure to experience
all kinds of battles. Think about the type matchups and movesets of your
Pokemon when you make the challenge.

9. Purify Chamber
###############################################################################

In total, there are 9 Sets in the Purify Chamber. One Shadow Pokemon can be
placed in the centre of each Set. The Shadow Pokemon is referred to as the
Vistor. Up to four regular Pokemon can be placed around the Vistor. Depending
on the number and kinds of regular Pokemon, and how they are positioned, the
pace of Purification will be affected.

The speed at which a Shadow Pokemon is Purified is referred to as a "Flow."
In order to heighten Flow, it's necessary to boost the Tempo of the Set. The
direction in which the Vistor in the centre is facing is also important. For
the best Flow, the Shadow Pokemon should be facing a regular Pokemon type
against which its attacks would be "super effective."

The type matchups among the regular Pokemon surrounding the Shadow Pokemon
determine the "Tempo" of that Set. A Set with high Tempo is the key to
Purifying Shadow Pokemon efficiently. To make a Set with good Tempo, the
important thing is to place as many regular Pokemon as possible. As mentioned,
type matchups among the regular Pokemon are also important. The regular
Pokemon should form a ring in which each Pokemon has a type advantage to the
one next to it in one direction.

Stand on the circular plate in the centre of the room, then press the A Button
to display the hologram. To view the hologram of another Set, select the Set
number using the L or R Buttons, then select "Switch". You may also edit a
Set directly from its hologram. Select the number of the Set to be edited,
then select "Edit." If a Shadow Pokemon's Heart Gauge falls to zero, it is
ready for a Purification Cermony on its Set. Selecting this command while the
hologram is displayed automatically launches the Purification Cermony sequence.

This is a list of locations of all the Shadow Pokemon in the game. If you
knocked out Shadow Pokemon and they ran away somewhere, Wanderer Miror B. will

Miror B. usually shows up at Pyrite Colosseum, Realgam Tower Colosseum, and the
three Poke Spots. At the Colosseums, you can only Snag one Shadow Pokemon, but
you can Snag two of them when you challenge him at the Poke Spots. Note that
you cannot Snag either Miror B.'s Nosepass or Zook's Zangoose until you
retrieve the Snag Machine from Team Snagem.

12. Shadow Moves
###############################################################################

Shadow Moves are special moves that are used only by Shadow Pokemon. If a
Regular Pokemon is hit by a Shadow Move, it will sustain heavy damage.
Conversely, if a Shadow Move hits a Shadow Pokemon, it will not be very
effective. Also, Shadow Moves don't use any Power Points (PP), so they can be
used over and over again without limit. The list below details all the Shadow
Moves in the game.

Once a Shadow Pokemon is Purified, it will forget its Shadow Moves and learn
Regular Moves. These Regular Moves cannot be taught to Pokemon in other
Pokemon GBA games. For example, a Zapdos Snagged from Grand Master Greevil
can learn the excellent Psychic-Type attack, Extrasensory, but a Zapdos caught
in FireRed and LeafGreen will not be able to learn this attack.

===============================================================================
Name | Description
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shadow Blast | Aims a powerful Shadowy blast at an opponent.
Shadow Blitz | Aims a Shadowy blast at an opponent.
Shadow Bolt | Aims a Shadowy Thunderbolt that can Paralyse at an opponent.
Shadow Break | Aims a Shadowy Strength at an opponent.
Shadow Chill | Aims a Shadowy Ice Beam that can Freeze at an opponent.
Shadow Down | Decreases the DEF of opponents.
Shadow End | Aims a powerful attack that can recoil at an opponent.
Shadow Fire | Aims a Shadowy Flamethrower than can Burn at an opponent.
Shadow Half | Halfs the HP of all Pokemon in battle.
Shadow Hold | Stops the switching of the targeted Pokemon in battle.
Shadow Mist | Decreases the evasiveness of an opponent.
Shadow Panic | Confuses the targeted Pokemon.
Shadow Rave | Aims an attack at both opponents.
Shadow Rush | Aims a Shadowy Tackle at an opponent.
Shadow Shed | Eliminates moves such as Reflect and Light Screen.
Shadow Storm | Aims a powerful Shadowy blast at both opponents.
Shadow Sky | Damages all non-Shadow Pokemon for five turns.
Shadow Wave | Aims a Shadowy Tackle at both opponents.

13. TM Information
###############################################################################

The list below details information about the TMs in this game. TMs are an
abbreviation for Technical Machines. You can teach them once on your Pokemon.
Some TMs can be brought at Realgam Tower, but others can only be found in
areas like Cipher Key Lair and Citadark Island. In the Pokemon GBA games, you
can also teach HMs (Hidden Machines) to your Pokemon, but you can't obtain
them in Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, so you can't teach them to your Pokemon
in this game.

14. Frequently Asked Questions
###############################################################################

Q: How can I trade with the Pokemon GBA games?
A: You must complete the game first. You can then go to the basement of the
Phenac City Pokemon Centre and start trading there.

Q: How do I purify Shadow Lugia?
A: You must have a Maximum Tempo on every Set in the Purify Chamber. When you
have done this, place Shadow Lugia in one of the Sets. The Main Character
will say that Shadow Lugia is acting strangely. You will now have the
opportunity to Purify it.

Q: How do I start the Lucky Egg Side Quest?
A: You must beat the first round of the Orre Colosseum.

Q: Can I Snag any Shadow Pokemon I missed?
A: Yes. If the particular Shadow Pokemon ran away somewhere, you will be able
to Snag it from Wanderer Miror B. He usually shows up at Pyrite Colosseum,
Realgam Tower Colosseum, and the three Poke Spots. At the Colosseums, you
can only Snag one Shadow Pokemon, but you can Snag two of them when you
challenge him at the Poke Spots.

Q: Do I have another chance to Snag Shadow Pokemon from Grand Master Greevil?
A: Yes. If you return to Citadark Island and confront Greevil again, he'll
still have his Shadow Pokemon in his party. Any Shadow Pokemon you Snagged
from him before will be replaced with regular Pokemon.

Q: How do I get the Gold/Silver/Crystal starter Pokemon?
A: You must make a new challenge at Mt. Battle and beat it without changing
your Pokemon or using the PC Station. You can save your game though.
Once you complete it, you'll be asked to choose one of the three starters.
To get the other two, you must beat Mt. Battle again two more times.

Eeveelutions are great pokemon, each with unique traits, abilities, and usefulness. Take note that each individual evolution has a similar stat build in that they all include a Base 130 stat, a Base 110 stat two Base 65 stats, and a Base 60 stat in specific stats.....it's just fun to take note of is all. =/. As you start your Pokemon XD game, you'll have a choice of evolving your starter, Eevee, into one of these Special Pokemon, but what to choose? Hopefully this insightful information will help influence your decision.

Espeon

Overview- Espeon is a prime pick when considering in-game Eevee evolutions. Why? Well, who doesn't like a high Speed Pokemon that can really dish out the Special Damage off rip (that's ibonics for without any stat boosts) AND can use Calm Mind? It also does one of the best jobs against most of the bosses. Lovrina doesn't count because she fails as a trainer >_>.

Oh, yea, and it's automatically cool because it's one of those Psychic types >_>.

Trait: Synchronize

Base Stats

HP: 65
Atk: 65
Def: 60
Spd: 110
SAtk: 130
SDef: 95

Base 130 SAtk, ftw. You can't say that and Base 110 isn't sexy. Sadly, being a Psychic type, it doesn't get a decent Def Stat. Nothing to worry about though, as it pretty much kills alot of things in-game before they try to hurt it :).

Espeon is strictly a Special Sweeper. If you're using Swift earlier in the game, that's all fine, but I strongly recommend you trade it for something better, which sadly is Bite >_>. Reflect is a cool idea too, what with 95% of the battles being Double Battles. Calm Mind is almost a must. 95 SDef is actually pretty nice, and 130 SAtk is even better. Combine those with CM, and you have an almost unstoppable force. If you can teach it Hidden Power, keep it if you find it to be a Fire type, for resistant Steel types, or Water for Houndoom and Tyranitar. Morning Sun for healing of course.

Flareon

Overview- ...........Ok, I'm making this guide out of generosity, so I'll say this: Technically, Flareon sucks. But because this is in-game, I'll count it as somewhat valid........somewhat.....

That said, Flareon is the physical muscle of the Eeveelutions (omg....). It's SAtk is pretty low for a Fire type, but it has great Attack and Special Defense stats (considering this stuff is like watching 10 minutes of a Dragonball Z show....ok I'll stop now.). Although it won't matter too much within the game, take note that this is "considered" a "Skarmbliss counter". Don't worry too much about that, that's just mentioned for reference.

Trait: Flash Fire

Base Stats

HP: 65
Atk: 130
Def: 60
Spd: 65
SAtk: 95
SDef: 110

The epitomy of why Fire types are considered sucky.....I mean the generalization of all great Pokemon!

Flareon is one of those Pokemon who have a typing opposite of that which it's Base Stats would exploit. You'd think Base 95 SAtk was good enough (close to 100 ftw), but Charizard has base 109, Salamence base 120, and Alakazam base only God knows where. Get my drift? So to make up for that fault, try to find those Fire Blast and Overheat TMs.

Alright, so remember that high base 130 Atk stat? Here's a list of all of Flareon's Level Up and TM physical moves:

Level Up

*Quick Attack
*Tackle
*Smog

Technical Machines

*Dig
*Facade
*Frustration
*Hidden Power [Physical]
*Hyper Beam
*Iron Tail
*Return
*Secret Power
*Shadow Ball

With only Return, Frustration, Quick Attack, Hidden Power [Fighting/Ground/Rock], and Shadow Ball being of any real usefulness, and Iron Tail being the only other reasonable thing. All I can say is to wait for the Shadow Houndour. If you think it's cool though, go ahead. I can honestly say I wouldn't blame you (*hugs Umbreon >_>). Helping Hand and Sunny Day are valid options IMO.

Jolteon

Overview- If it wren't for the Crappy Movepool Curse, this would probably be the most awesome Eeveelution evar. One of THE highest speeds in the game, with a pretty nice SAtk Stat to boot. It's pretty much like a reverse Espeon without Calm Mind.

Trait: Volt Absorb

Base Stats

HP: 65
Atk: 65
Def: 60
Spd: 130
SAtk: 110
SDef: 95

Thunderbolt and Thunder Wave are your best friends. :D It can't do too much else attack-wise, so put that Move Tutor to good use and give it Substitute as well. If you can manage, give it Hidden Power Ice or Grass. If you get Water, you can use Rain Dance and Thunder without me coming to your house and slapping you for using Thunder at all. j/k. No sersiously though it's not AS effective without HP Water. But I'll throw you a bone since it's in-game: If you have Kyogre traded over or something with Rain Dance, go ahead and have fun running Thunder and Thunderbolt on the same moveset.

Umbreon

Overview- OMG <3. Umby defenses roxxors </n00b talk>. My favorite pokemon, and judging by recent polls, just about everybody elses' favorite Eeveelution :D. But honestly, it won't be of too much help in-game unless you use Confuse Ray while Amphy uses Thunder Wave >:). But when you start trading stuff over and breed your own Umbreon in GBA, you'll be able to make THE best Trap-passer in THE game.

Trait: Synchronize

Base Stats

HP: 95
Atk: 65
Def: 130
Spd: 60
SAtk: 60
SDef: 110

Not one of the offensive Eevelutions obviously. Stick with stuff like Mean Look, Confuse Ray, and of course Moonlight. Sadly, Faint Attack and Bite are your only real offensive moves (unless you want Psychic, which you don't lest I bring my knife to your house). Toxic has always been a cool and favored option, so give it a shot. If you're somehow able to not let Eevee evolve and get it Baton Pass, you can use that and Mean Look just in case someone wants to switch out. That's more of a competitve battling thing though. =/ If you want you can pass some Double Teams, but then I'd have to slap you.

Vaporeon

Overview- Another wonderful Eeveelution, ranking high as one of the better ones (not to mentioned ranked as one of the cooler and more useful water types). Makes for a great Special Tank, and can still dish out the damage when it needs to.

Trait: Synchronize

Base Stats

HP: 130
Atk: 65
Def: 60
Spd: 65
SAtk: 110
SDef: 95

Jolteon Base Special Attack: 110
Vaporeon Base Special Attack:110

Now you know that's dangerous. It should keep the usual moves like Hydro Pump (Trade it over to GBA and get it Surf as soon as possible IMO) and Ice Beam (or Auror Beam if Ice Beam isn't available at the moment). Haze gets cooler as you start battling competitvely (that means link battles for all the simple folk), and if you let Eevee get Baton Pass before evolving, you can pass over some Acid Armors and Substitutes (Move Tutor) to a good sweeper and you'll basically be near invincible.

Yea, that's pretty much it. Without breeding/certain Hidden Powers, these aren't always as cool as they should be, but they're still cool pokes to use.

Ok, finished. Any suggestions, comments, and concerns can only make this guide better.
