What's your favourite ark-type move, and why?

I like the ever powerful, ever reliable Crunch. It's one of those moves which you know will hit every time and will cause a good amount of damage. It also has the ability to lower one's defence every so often, which makes Crunch hit even harder. So much win!

What's your favorite Dark type move and why?

In general, Sucker Punch is easily one of my most favourite Dark-type moves. It has a reliable accuracy and the fact you can quickly take out fast sweepers who are planning to attack is great. It's always been a bit of a gamble to work with although I still love it for all of the times it brought victory on my side in various battles, whether in-game or in competitive play.

Although I have a second favourite which is equally loved by me, Nasty Plot. In-game wise I hate making room for stat-raising moves, so I generally don't use it but competitive wise, this move tears through everything. Doubling your special attack, especially on certain hard hitters, sets up a great way to tear through all sorts of teams. It's a wonderful move alongside Sucker Punch. :3

Welcome to the club! Has it really been 4 days since the last post? O_O

Well I'm gonna answer the topic and make a new one.

What's your favorite Dark type move and why?

I would say Dark Pulse. It's a very speedy move with is 100% accurate so you can relay on it. It's has a good amount of power and is one of the best special Dark moves out there. It also looke cool to me and it also has a 20% chance of flinching.

OK now a new topic.

What do you think is the best Dark-type move for competitive battling?

I have no opinion on this right now and I'm kind of tired so I'll let you guys answer later. (Not that I don't know myself or anything.Mostly just tired. )

Well, all right! I always wanted to join this club.

New topic answer: Hmmm, I'm not sure about this one. Probably Taunt, considering that of an underexperienced opponent were to challenge your Dark-type with a Psychic-type move, it would just keep failing and failing

Hey guys how ya been?

Answering Topic Question: What do you think is the best Dark-type move for competitive battling?

For this one I would have to say Taunt would be currently the most prominent dark move in the meta-game that is used competitively. It is great for stopping support pokemon or anything that can give a passive/tactical advantage to your opponent. It also helps that manny pokemon can use it outside dark types.

I'm going with what CourageHound said and I'll say Taunt. It's very handy for shutting down foes who tend to use status and support moves a lot, when timed right it can turn any battle in your favor.

I'll answer the last topic as well so I can catch up:

What's your favorite Dark type move and why?

Dark Pulse, it has a neat chance of flinching the foe and is the go-to move for any Special-based Dark-type. I also love Crunch and Night Slash since they benefit the many Physical-based Dark-type attackers out there, Night Slash is even great when combined with Super Luck and a Scope Lens, making it fun for landing critical hits (Honchkrow and Absol just love critical hits lol).

I'll agree with everyone about Taunt. It's one of the most annoying moves ever for a first time battler. Also I would put Sucker Punch. It can turn the tables in a match within a few seconds.

Well, Taunt of course! It effectively stops the opponent from setting up and turning deadly or inflicting status conditions, and if used well, can turn losing battles into victorious ones. Imagine having a team made up largely of stallers. Just a Taunt for each Pokemon and you're done for. K.O.

What do you think of Dark-Type Pokemon: There just epic! I've always considers them like pokemon hiding in the shadows, like ninjas! And I ain't really a bright pink kinda girl so the look of dark type pokemon apealed to me :D and yeah I just love them (:

Your partners: Umbreon (Midnight), Zoura (Trixter) (my two favourites (: yup)

What Types rule: DARK-TYPES! Duh!

Answer the current topic: What do you think is the best move for competitive battling?
I'm rubbish at all out competitive battling -_-' I wish I was, I am trying to train my Umbreon to use Dark Pulse well. Yeah told you I'm bad, although crunch is quite good :)

Welcome to the club man!

To answer the topic, I'm sort of with Midnight Umbreon, I'm not much of a competitive battler.
But I guess I'd have to say Taunt. Since Taunt stops all status and supportive moves making it harder for and opponent to take the advantage with a status aliment or an increase of power.

The place's dead. So I'm gonna bump it up with a topic, this happens way too often. >.<

Of all of the Dark-type specialists, which one is your favorite and why?

If you're not sure who these are there's (and this is including spin-offs)
Karen of the Johto Elite Four
Spr_HGSS_Karen.png

Sidney of the Hoenn Elite Four
Spr_RS_Sidney.png

Grimsley of the Unova Elite Four

And in Pokemon Conquest there's Kotaro of the Yaksha Kingdom

Discuss!

What do you think of Dark-Type Pokemon: They're very mysterious with their appearances, they are also fierce in battle, and their moves are simply amazing.

Kareeeeeeen. <3 I wish she was a gym leader rather than an E4. She knows how to battle with her Umbreon and Houndoom very well. Those two Pokemon were too tough to beat when I faced her a few times.

Ah yes, let's try to make this place more active. hahaha. Welcome to the club Megan! And yeah I really wish she was a Gym Leader too, she'd work well as one. Honestly there just needs to be a Dark type gym leader in general.

To answer the topic:

Pretty tough question for me really , I love all three of the specialist in the main games, and have never played Conquest and so I know nothing about Kotaro. But I'm gonna go with Karen. I love her team cause she uses a Umbreon and she knows how to battle well. Plus one of my favorite quotes in any of the games is the one she says in Gold and Silver/ HeartGold and Soulsilver after you defeat her (particularly the GS version)
"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites."

Not the full quote but this is the part i love the most. It's words I definitely live by when playing the games. Whenever I play any Pokemon game, my team mostly consists more of Pokemon I like rather than the Pokemon with the best stats. Sure I do look at a Pokemon's stats before making the final decisions, but I usually I just pick Pokemon I like more.

Second would have to be Grimsley. He's so suave-looking and I love his outfit, it's so fancy. Plus he has a great team imo, both during his initial battle and post-game rematch after especially his Scrafty. :D

Welcome aboard Megan, glad you're planning to keep up this club's activity!

I'll answer the topic while I'm at it.

Grimsley of course! I love his hair, the fact he's a 5th Gen character (you know how much I love that generation) and he uses really strong Dark-types like Scrafty, Bisharp and Krookodile. I really wanted him to be a Gym Leader rather than an Elite Four member, but he's still cool nonetheless! But I do hope X and Y finally give us a Dark-type Gym Leader!

Grimsley for me sparks the entire "Dark" gimmick. He is a gambler, suspicious and, over all, creepy

(just look at that grin).

Past Dark specialist only look like normal trainers who hold and train Dark types. Grimsley just shouts "Darkness is my specialty."

Out of all three E4 Dark specialists, Grimsley strikes me as more mysterious than the other two. He has that secret personality that leaves you wondering "wow, I must know more about him!" and well, you can't because he wants to keep it that way. He's a Dark-Type trainer and he knows how to train them, that is all you should know. :P

What do you think of dark type pokémon?: Dark type pokemon are awesome, the way they are designed is pretty much just screaming I'm merciless.
Your Partners?: Bisharp and Houndoom
What type rules?: DARK TYPE RULES
Answer to current topic: If it's overall then Kotaro (Conquest), just because he looks awesome in rank 1 and just total badass in rank 2, plus he's my favorite from samurai warriors, if it's limited to main series then Grimsley, just because of how mysterious he is and how he looks like he was born to use dark types.

now that i've seen grimsley from the front, i sorta have this image of a creepy butler... ok, to the point. Grimsley's the best to me, coz i don't play conquest and i don't exactly have any experience with karen and sidney. i don't know but i think grimsley's ok, but thats just my opinion.

Yeah I agree with you guys! Grimsley seems to be the type of the person who looks like he owns dark-types, he's mysterious and he's a gambler so he's probably has taken risks before in his life. I wish he was more involved in the story of Gen V, but the amount we know about him gives him that mysterious feel which I like.
