In most games there has been some kind of specialist museum. In Kanto, there was a scientific museum, based upon science and fossils, as well as out of space. In Hoenn, there was an art museum and a ocean museum, the latter specialising in everything related to the ocean. In Sinnoh, there was the mining museum, which specialised in the history of mining and showed things such as coal, and mining-related things, while Unova's was just historical in generation and even had a DRAGON SKULL (badass, yes).

Based on what you've seen of the region, what do you think the museum in this region will be? Do you think it'll be something like fashion, or a food museum, based on the culture of the suspected France area? Or something else? Do you even want a museum in the games? Do you want it to serve a double purpose like in other games, such as where Magma/Aqua took off, or a Gym?

Share your thoughts!

I think it'll be a museum that covers pretty much everything. One feature I want in them is to have like a room where there is a piece of the Moss Rock in Eterna Forest, and if you level up Eevee in that room, it evolves into Leafeon. The same applies with different rooms for Glaceon and Probopass/Magnezone.

I would actually like to see a museum that is actually about archeology in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, seeing as this type of museum hasn't been used as of yet. Though the mining museum in Sinnoh is similar, but I don't think it's about archeology... it's all just about iron ore and stuff like that.

Archeology... pretty much about discovering ancient life forms and ancient things in regards to humans and Pokémon, where the museum studies in how humans and Pokémon came together.

As well as reviving old fossils of ancient Pokémon, this means they'd also revive any fossil from previous generations such as the Dome Fossil, the Helix Fossil, the Old Amber and many others.

Yeah, that would be good type of museum to use for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. ;)

Since it looks like the games would be based in France, maybe a museum like the Louvre or the Musée d'Orsay? Those would be pretty huge, and maybe a scenario involving the evil team could take place there. They could be "dungeons" like Silph Co. (though probably not as frustrating) or something to that effect.

Oh, I hadn't even made the connection that there were all those museums! I think maybe just a combination of something like the art and Unova museum, like ancient artifacts, maybe where all the people who buy rare objects gather?

I kiinda want it to be like an art museum, just because although it's been used before I think it'd be appropriate in the region given it's France and such, and also that seeing actual artwork in-game when you click on the walls instead of just statues or w/e would be awesome if it's anime-like. :3;

An art museum would be awesome and would fit in perfectly. Maybe they could integrate anime scenes like they do in Professor Layton, although that would include voice acting and that could be awkward. Maybe they could find a way around it but idk.

It would be nice to see another art museum, we haven't seen one since the days of Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald.

And other than just paintings in the museum, it would be nice to also see some sculptures in there as well, knowing that's also based on art. ^^

Yeah better off if there's no anime scenes, imo. Just art in general anime-style would be good enough for me tbh.

But @ Silver Riolu: I'd much prefer if there's no sculptures I'm sick of them. :x

I think an art museum would be a good idea, if the region is indeed based off of France. It could give us an opportunity to use the 3D to look at sculptures and paintings close up, rather than having a text-box describe what we're looking at. I could also see the evil team trying to steal famous paintings as a sidequest or something, and having to fight them to get them back (although, we just had something similar in Black/White with the Nacrene Gym/Museum, so maybe not the best idea).

Painting stealing would be so extremely... boring, though. Unless the paintings activated some code inside which'd help them get the legendary it just seems like such a boring thing for villains to do lmao.
