Information
I am using R/S/E Tilesets. I am also using R/S/E overworlds. This game is being made using RPG Maker XP.

Legend
Milloins of years ago, Metna was a nearly lifeless region, stongly affected by the weather. The few beings living there were barely enduring these harsh conditions. The cause was this was a Pokemon that can control the weather. No one knows why but he became enraged and cause these conditions. Then one day the ledgendary Pokemon called Rayquaza came and put a stop to this weather by beating this weather controlling Pokemon. Slowly people and Pokemon returned to Metna. Ever since, Rayquaza has been worshipped like a god.

Plot
In the region, Metna, the area is widely controlled by the weather causing few crimes to pop up. This peaceful region used to be crime free until Tema Aqua and Magma show up with their evil plans. Both of their last attempts in Hoenn failed, sending the two Teams into hiding. Finally they relocated Groudon and Kyorge, in Metna. One thing they don't realize is an old friend has come back, with a bigger and better plan for Metna. While Archie and Maxie battle it out, this old friend sits back and watches, waiting for the perfect oppurtunity. You need to stop their plans and save your region.

Introduction
You are getting ready for your friend from Hoenn to visit. You find out he already has a Pokemon. Not wanting to be left out, you go to the Professor to recieve your first Pokemon. When you get to the lab, a Team Magma Grunt comes to steak imporntant research papers. The Professors quickly gives you one of his Pokemon and you fight off the Grunt. As a reward the Professors allows you to take the Pokemon test even though you are a year to young. You use the Pokemon they tossed you. After passing the test, Professor Alder haves you pick one of the Pokemon from the list of starters for the Metna region. Then Professor Buckeye secretly gives you an egg. Then your friend comes. You find out his Pokemon was stolen by Team Aqua. You both agree to stop the two teams. The Professor gives your friend a Pokemon and you both set off. When you get to the first town, You are asked to join Team Azure, who are trying to stop Team Magma and Team Aqua aswell...

Mystery Journal
As you travel though Metna. You find pages of the Mystery Journal. Does this journal have any link to Team Magma and Team Aqua. Here are the first three entries:

9/19/09- My old friends are back. Apparently after their failed attempt in Hoenn to change the world. They went into hiding. Maxie followed Groudon here. Kyogre and Archie can't be far behind. I wonder if they are still as big of rivals as they used to be.

9/27/09- Team Aqua and Team Magma have formed again. They are still big rivals. There old plans were even the opposite of each other. Maxie wanted to get Groudon powers to get rid of all the water and make only land. Archie wanted to do the opposite woth Kyogre's powers. They said they realizedbthey caused a terrible disaster, but knowing them, they just used that time to hide and reform. Last time their plans were ruined by Rayquaza.

10/13/09- Archie and Maxie are fools, they are using their same plans. They think Groudon and Kyogre are he ultimate powers. They are wrong, Rayquaza, the god of the sky is.

Welcome to Metna
This region is very large and affected alot by weather. It has many islands and some unique spots like the Coral Reef and Dark Crater. It is a place where many Pokemon of different size and shapes come. This region used to be free of evil... Use to.



Team Azure
A mysterious team with the plans to bring down Team Aqua and Magma. You meet them after beating your first dojo. They are secretive and don't give you much information aout them. They offer for you to join them...

Other Characters
There are many other special characters in this game. Here are a couple.

Steven
From R/S/E Steven is back. He is a great trainer and a former Elite Four Champion. Why does he suddenly decide to come to Metna. He is also your friends father.

Your Friend
Your friend is the son of the great Elite Four champion Steven. He comes to Metna to visit his father and to stop by and visit you. Unexpectedly his Pokemon is stolen by Team Aqua. Now he is determined to get it back.

Professor Alder
Yes, I did decide to keep the tradition of naming Professors after trees, though with a less common tree. She works in the Metna region with her partner Professor Buckeye. She is very interested in Pokemon, though she prefers studying them rather than battling them. She is the reason you have the chance to get your first Pokemon.

Professor Buckeye
Still named after a tree. He is the one that decides you should keep the egg. He enjoys studying Pokemon but sometimes forgets to do his work and battles instead.

Dojo
A Dojo an area to train your Pokemon. There are no Gyms so these serve as them instead. If you beat every trainer there you get a reward similar to badges. There are twelve Dojo's in Metna. If you beat them all you get to access the improved Battle Frontier and more.

Special Locations
There are special locations found in Metna like, the Coral Reef, the Sky Peak, and Pokemon Crater. These spots thrive in rare wild Pokemon including shinies, and even recolors. Some Pokemon can not be found anywhere else but these areas. There are even Pokemon that don't seem like they belong there like some ledgendaries...

Pokemon Crater
This area is a special location. It is actually more special than any of the others. Here you can find shadow forms of every Pokemon. This area causes sme trouble in the plot. Dragonfree is the reason I thought of this idea. After asking for permission to use the sprites and pallette, here are some of them.


The top ones are the ones dragonfree made and the Eevee is the only recolor I have done so far. I fixed the Eevee. Also, there is unlimited amount of each shadow Pokemon. You could have 12 shadow Mews if you wanted to.

Secret Base
The secret base is back and better than ever. I never understood the use of the secret base, but now there is one. You don't have to have your rival follow you all the time [Please note that there are some times where he has to follow you and he has to be away from you]. If you want to go alone your rival will go to your secret base. In the base there is a spot to heal your Pokemon. You can also explore your base and find some surprising secrets. They will be revealed later. Some of those secrets are: There is a chance you may find an egg or wild Pokemon. Your secret base is still accesible, so I thought, why not have eggs or Pokemon come in depending where you are. You can also have more than one entrance. I plan to make a tunnel system that you will be able to connct your base with. Though to connect it, it may cost some money...

I love the story but there is a plot hole. At the end of RSE they decided to forget their differences and made up and don't even try again becuase their nice now.

Thanks. For the hole in the plot, well, Im either going to make the person second in command take over or make it so Maxie and Archie were lieing to get away and have time to remake their team.

I updated some ofthe information in the first post, including the tilesets I am using and some more general info. I would have a world map posted but, it was in the wrong size so I have to remake it.

Another Update:

Here is a map for Metna.

It is not finished so it does not have any routes or towns. It may change later. I plan on having each spot of land and area in the game.

An R/S/E sequel!

One thing I would suggest is have Brendan in it, similar to Red being in G/S/C/HG/SS. That would just be awesome.

I think I am going to add Brendan and May. I may even add Steven.

I finally named the region. It is Metna.

I finished almost half the map, almost. Here it is.

I still have not had time to make any pictures or finish the map. I hope to get some soon.

Edit: More of the map is done. It is still not finished though. It is about 3/4 of the way done. Here it is:

I gotta admit, I like the idea! Looks great too, may want to fix the icons on the map. You need to add the route colours on the corners of those parts. ;)

Yeah, I was experimenting with it. I was actually waiting for someones feedback on them. Thanks for the feedback. I will fix them right away.

I finally finished the Metna region. If someone finds some error, I will make some fixes. Other than that I am done.

UPDATE: I added more to the first post, including the legend and information about special areas.

I was going to wait to post this new update, but I got real excited about it and decided to post it early.

In the special location, Pokemon Crater. You can find the Shadow form of every Pokemon, including ledgendaries. Pokemon Crater is a huge location that is mainly located underneath the Metna region. Please not that there will be no shinies for these shadow Pokemon. This idea was based off of Dragonfree's sprites. After getting permission for the sprites and pallette I decided to post it here.

Edit: I fixed the colors of the Eevee.


I also fixed the map. I was unhappy with it. Now it is finished.

No those are the ones Dragonfree did [except the Eevee] Though I do admit that some of my favorites are in there. SOrry I didn't get to reply. I got a virus that prevented me from going on my computer. If that didn't happen I would have alot of updates and would have finished a quarter of the shadow Pokemon.

I like it so far! I like how you are using R/S/E tilesets. I suggest that you fix up the map's water a bit so that it has different colors of water on it. It might look more pleasing.

You're doing the map wrong. The darkest shade is not an outline, it's just a dark shade for low land.

Sorry about that. My definition is not very clear. It looks almost nothing like that. I will fix the first post.

I know it is not like the tutorial. I decided to make it different and unique. I never like to follow everything step by step. I honestly don't like the edge they do on d/p/p

A stupid virus has prevented me from accessing my computer. I now can only access the internet. If I didn't get the virus I probably would have the entire shadow pokemon list done.

I also am updating information in the first post.

To be honest, i don't like the world map. The idea is pretty good and i like the shadow forms.

Shadow lugia only has that coloration because it is inverted. The other shadow pokemon should have different coloration.
