Chapter One ; Avengers Assemble!
May 8th, 2018, 3:00pm

"They've finally begun to gather. Let's see if they live up to expectation."

250px-Lumiose_City.png
It's time for all of Professor Sycamore's kiddies to gather together for their first super secret meeting. Basically, your task is to gather at Sycamore's Laboratory, where you will introduce yourself to Sycamore's other aides and he will provide you with the means to begin your new journey into the secrets of Mega Evolution. You'll have time to interact and begin developing relationships with the other aides before you'll all be issued your first "mission."

Step One: Enter Sycamore's Lab!

Step Two: Introduce yourself!

Step Three: Listen to what Professor Sycamore has to say!

Step Four: Receive some new gear!

Step Five: Begin your first mission!

For now, you'll only be able to complete steps one and two. Once you've all congregated within the main lobby of Sycamore's Lab, Augustine and one of his primary aides, Andrea, will explain further.

Kenneth Brayland
The day had brought a new beginning and in that essence, a new adventure for his Pokemon and himself. That morning he had cleansed himself of the night's dirt and now he found himself in the usual spot, sitting on his patch of grass underneath a large tree outside the town. With his knees bent and arms loosely hugging them, he pluck a small piece of grass and tossed it away, his eyes set on his team.

As usual Bang Bang stood a few yards away, seemingly careless, but Kenneth knew the blue Tyrantrum was mindful of Cherish: the Amura and Tang: the Helioptile, playing around his feet.

Today's the day. Everything starts from here on out, he told himself, full lips closed in a tense line.

A gray mass soared pass the tree he was under, shaking the leaves with its speed. A screech gave the day a frightening companion soon afterwards but Kenneth was unmoved. He raised up from the grass and patted his black trousers down. The sash of black and jagged rocks clacked together as they hit one another.

"Alright guys," he called out, reigning in his Pokemon. Tang arrived first, next was Cherish, then Bang Bang, and finally Saga: the loud-mouth Aerodactyl drifted down onto its talons beside him.

"Its time to head out to Sycamore's place, let's meet our colleagues," he told them, each responding in kind, though Bang Bang's roar was a bit deafening. He returned them each to there Pokeballs, leaving Bang Bang for last. He rubbed the giant creature's muzzle for comfort before returning it, its dignified eyes translating understanding to him in the short moment. With a shiver, he zipped up his maroon jacket and pushed on from the quiet scene.

People were passively about, a few of them recognized him for his work with Sycamore and greeted him shortly but nothing more happened than that. When he reached the lab, he couldn't tell if others had entered inside yet or not, so he figured he'd treat the day like any other.

The dark-skin youth pushed open the door and looked around, brown eyes scanning the room with a cool interest. Another sedative sigh filed from his lips. He unzipped his jacket and walked forwards to the center of the waiting area.

"Some gathering," he mumbled lightly. "I don't think I recognize anyone here."

Michael Corn

Lumiose City

Corn strutted along the street of Lumiose, his Houndoom following closely behind. Horn only had eyes forward but the people lining up the streets of Lumiose kept a watchful gaze towards Corn. While it is still the center of activity in Kalos, strangers are still met with watchful gaze, especially strangers carrying a Houndoom. They really are not the friendliest of species and not being native to Lumiose doesn't really help. It was a good thing that Horn kept calm throughout their journey. When he was younger, he was prone to growling and barking at everybody everywhere.

"Come on, Horn," Corn started to jog, the tail of his coat flowing behind him. Horn sprinted closely behind him. Times like these, he preferred to have Horn beside him. None of his other Pokemn can keep up with Corn when he started to run. Neru would only crawl behind him, lagging further and further behind. Fiara is easily distracted by the people and the sights and it would not be surprising if Corn should backtrack a few meters if Fiara takes notice of a very interesting street tile. And Khal is agonizingly slow. He would slowly lumber behind Corn. Horn, however, could outstrip Corn in his own game. It was often that Horn would go faster than Corn and would be waiting for him patiently on their own destination, not showing any sign of tiredness.

And that was what exactly happened. Horn ran in front of Corn until he was no more in sight. However, when Corn arrived at the front of the door of the lab, Horn was there, dutifully waiting for his trainer, his Mega Stone embedded in his chest skull. "Nice, Horn." Corn recalled his Pokemon back to his Pokeball. While it deeply comforted him to have his starter Pokemon beside him, his loss in the Pokemon League is still fresh and some people have better memory than others.

Corn pushed the door and went inside. There were several people he doesn't recognize. Well, all of them were people he doesn't recognize. He tried smiling politely at each one of the aides but each on them seemed to be busy with something, either a paper or a Pokeball. Corn shrugged and entered the waiting area. There was only a dark-skinned wearing a maroon jacket, looking bored at his surroundings. He seemed to be younger than Corn by a few years. He took the seat farthest from the guy. Corn is not really one to start conversations.

He hoped that the others would arrive soon enough.

Leonard sat still, his eyes drifting lazily across the city of Lumiose as he sipped his coffee. The boy was alone on a bench, sitting right outside one of the city's many cafes, smiling contently. "What a quaint little city," he thought to himself; it reminded him of Mauville back in Hoenn, though here it was a bit more... sophisticated. Or at least, that was the impression it gave.

Either way, Leonard wasn't complaining, reclining back on the bench and taking another sip of his coffee. A little moment to relax to himself before his meeting with Professor Sycamore. He reached into his bag, pulling out a small belt with three pokeballs attached. He fumbled with the devices idly in his hands, thinking of what had taken him to Kalos in the first place.

"Mega Evolution," he said quietly. An intriguing phenomenon, to be sure. Back in Hoenn he had only heard rumors of such a thing; Pokemon, previously thought to have no further evolution, suddenly gaining new and enhanced forms, albeit temporarily. What were the limitations? How many Pokemon species could Mega Evolve? How did it work? That was what Leonard had been brought on for; to assist Sycamore in finding the answers to these questions.

Leonard placed the belt back in his bag, finishing off his coffee and tossing the paper cup in the trash. He rose from his seat, stretching his arms and slinging his bag over his shoulders. It was nearing time for him to be at the lab, and he was looking forward to hearing what this special mission of his was going to be. Supposedly he was to be meeting new aides of the professor's as well. Leonard shrugged at the thought; he wasn't entirely keen on the idea of working with a team, but if that's what Sycamore wanted, then he wouldn't argue. Maybe he'd make some new friends along the way. Maybe not. Who knew?

As Leonard approached, the glass doors to the lab being pushed open effortlessly. He wandered through the lab, passing by various assistants and Pokemon, before eventually finding his way to where he had been instructed to wait. He saw two other boys sitting nearby, though they didn't seem to be very talkative. Surely there were more people to show up?

"Gentlemen," Leonard greeted them both with a nod. "I assume we're waiting on others to show?"

Blair Addams

"Oh my god where the hell did he go?" The pink haired girl hissed to herself as she hurried through the streets of Lumiose City, brown eyes scanning for a small purple gremlin like creature. Loki the Sableye had a habit of sometimes randomly disappearing and walking around the city, something which Blair didn't mind him doing usually – she didn't want to completely control his life. After all, she could still recall that when he'd offered her that Pokeball all those years ago that she'd said she was happy to have him as her partner, and that was something she wanted to stick to for all her Pokemon. However, right now it was a bit of a problem as she needed to be at the lab for an important meeting. The thought of going without him never even crossed her mind.

She turned the corner to walk through Magenta Plaza, biting her lip. Wandering around aimlessly near her apartment really wasn't providing to be too fruitful – he'd clearly headed out a lot earlier to have gotten so far. Blair plonked herself down on a seat, holding her head in her hands. Where would he have set off to that was so important that he'd go just before they had to be somewhere? Her mind was painfully blank for a moment, until a dull memory flickered through her mind. A few days ago they'd gone to the Stone Emporium together, her and Loki, as it was his favourite place in Lumiose. As the Sableye had gone around taking in all the scents of the precious stones and staring greedily as they glistened in the light, the shop keeper had mentioned something…

Blair's head snapped up. He'd said that they were getting new stock in today if she was having trouble deciding on what to buy. To Loki having all those new stones being moved around would have been a blissful mix of scents and tastes, and knowing his appetite, he'd care a lot more about drooling at a bunch of gemstones than going to a meeting at the lab.

She set off at a run, very conscious of the fact that time was slipping away from her, and ducked and weaved around people going about their daily business until she reached the Stone Emporium. Outside the entrance a large truck was parked, and a couple of people were moving goods inside the store. Blair sighed in exasperation as she noticed the Sableye sitting by the wheel, his tongue hanging out slightly, bouncing up and down slightly. She crept up behind him, something she wouldn't normally be able to do, but with Loki so fixated on the stones, he didn't notice.

"Gotcha!" Blair shouted as she wrapped her hands around his waist and pulled him off the ground. He yelped and flailed around in shock, and in her corner of her mind, Blair felt something pull and reach out of her, trying to form a bond.

"Sorry Loki no mega evolving for you." She smirked. Although the pink haired girl had to admit, trying to mega evolve when threatened, and your mega was as defensive as Loki's was, it wasn't a half bad idea. "Hey look we've gotta get moving okay? We're supposed to be meeting the Professor and a bunch of other aides. It's really important."

Loki crossed his arms and growled, clearly not impressed with how events were turning out. "Come on, this is really big okay? And besides, I can't go there without you, that would be weird." Sensing that she wasn't getting anywhere with him, as he'd just started mimicking her blabbering on before poking his tongue out at her, Blair decided that she need a little bit of positive reinforcement to make him happy. "Look, after we're done at the lab we can come back here and you can stay for as long as you want."

That seemed to work, as he nodded enthusiastically and started drooling again. Figuring that the matter was settled, Loki clambered onto Blair's back as she checked the time on her phone, and promptly felt the blood drain from her face. She was already running ten minutes late, and still had a bit of a walk. The pink haired girl broke into a run, Loki clinging on tightly around her neck, and a few minutes later she burst through the doors into the lab, nearly crashing into someone who was standing close behind the door.

"Oh gosh sorry about that." She panted, before glancing around the room. The meeting didn't appear to have started just yet, which was odd, they definitely should have. Her eyes flicked to the clock on the wall, and she frowned, confused. That clock said that she was a few minutes early, rather than late. Then it clicked, and she groaned as she remembered. Her flatmate Natalie had suggested last night that she could deliberately make her phone fifteen minutes early to ensure that she was on time. It would seem that it had worked far too well. She plonked herself down onto a nearby chair, trying to get her breath back, and to wait for the meeting to start.

Tabitha "Tanith" Schauer

The streets of Lumiose trembled as a large, brown Pokémon slowly made its way through the city, huge form casting shadows on the windows of the many shops and boutiques the city was famous for. Every now and again the townspeople raised their gazes from their morning papers and cups of coffee, or peered over their shoulders as they passed the Mamoswine, curious and confused. Pokémon weren't exactly an uncommon sight in the region's capital, with many allowing their partners to walk alongside them and even taking them to restaurants for battles - but a solemn ice type carrying a sleeping little girl and an Alakazam on its back seemed to be something entirely new to most passersby.

Even some Pokémon found it in them to react with suspicion; wild bird Pokémon took flight to flee from the mammoth's path, and every now and again a freshly groomed, pompous-looking Furfrou decided to announce its disapproval with a flurry of barks. And although the Mamoswine didn't show any sign of aggression towards anyone or anything else, it did throw a glare whenever its ears caught one of those barks as if to try and scare the offending canines into silence.

The reason? An attempt to protect the sleep of the young girl curled up on her back, finally resting after hours worth of travel from Southern Kalos to Lumiose. She'd packed up her stuff and set off the second she'd received email about the meeting, desperate not to be late from what could be one of the most important opportunities of her life. She'd just wondered why'd she received the invitation at such short notice. Notifying people the night before was hardly professional. It was mean. Of course, a few minutes of looking into it had revealed that the email had actually been sent quite a while ago - she'd jut only received it now due to a bug in AI's security checks; for whatever reason, it had classified the mail as spam and only yesterday, after updating some of its code, had it let the mail through.

Of course, she could never tell that to professor Sycamore. Never, ever. A programming related mix-up was one of the most embarrassing and unacceptable things Tanith could imagine ever doing, and there was no way she could use that as a reason for her tardiness without losing her reputation and self-respect in the process.

As such, she'd had little choice but to spend the night traveling to try and get to the laboratory in time. But, with her physical condition being what it was, most of that had been spent on Mama's back, preparing for the upcoming meeting until sleep had finally caught up with her. Luckily for her, Papa knew the way and could direct the ground type even in her absence; the Alakazam was sitting at the far back of the Mamoswine's back even now, feeding directions straight into the other Pokémon's consciousness. Throughout the trip, he'd been the one to make sure their little group didn't get attacked by hungry nocturnal Pokémon or bandits - not that the latter were a common problem in the area. But when it came to protecting his trainer, Papa didn't consider there to be such a thing as too careful.

'Paranoid', Tanith usually called him.

Either way, after a few more turns the familiar silhouette of Sycamore's laboratory came into view from behind a corner - and at a pretty good time, since while the Mamoswine had had no trouble walking long distances at night when the sun was down and a chilly wind revitalized her after each step, traversing during the day was very taxing for her and made her even more sluggish than usual. Not that anyone could probably tell.

We're here. Papa's voice announced in the middle of Tanith's dreams and the girl immediately stirred, letting out a frustrated groan at the disturbance. Out of reflex, she stretched her arm to her right in search for a blanket to pull over her head and shield her from the noises and lights, but as things were she only managed to grab a handful of Mama's fur and pull a pained cry from her. Ugh, so loud.

Wait... Huh? Fur? Why, wasn't she supposed to be in bed at hom-

"... Ah!" The girl suddenly exclaimed, although neither her expression not voice really let her shock shine through. She sat up with a jolt, rubbing her eyes and nearly falling off the back of her Pokémon as she tried to bring herself to slide on the ground. Oh no, how long'd she slept? What was the time? Was she late?

We're just in time. Papa reassured her. She heard, but didn't bother to offer a reply. He didn't need one, anyway.

"Does my hair look okay?" Tanith asked in a rush, fixing her strands with one hand, holding her laptop against her side with the other. Once she was somewhat satisfied, she quickly grabbed a Pokéball and recalled Mama, brushing past Papa to head into the laboratory. She might have looked as calm as ever, but inside her mind was racing. What should she say? She had to introduce herself, right? Right, but what about that after that? Did she look like she'd just woken up, because she sure still felt groggy...

It'll be fine.

"Easy for you to say," Tanith mumbled, pushing open the laboratory door and drawing in one final breath before stepping inside. Her Charmander hoodie was covering half of her head, one of her socks had slid to her ankle and she still had signs of bed hair, but at the very least she was here, on time.

As she opened the door and peered inside, she saw a number of other people sitting around, seemingly waiting for something. Three boys and one girl, who seemed to be out of breath like she'd just run. Huh, strange, since apparently they were early and all. Well, at least she wouldn't be the only one looking somewhat out of place now. So, readying herself, the girl finally dared a step inside the room. She kept her back straight and her expression as neutral as possible (which luckily came pretty naturally for her) and focused her sights on an empty chair nearby. She offered the others a curt nod in passing to acknowledge their presence, and then nervously marched to the seat she had her setsights set on - only to almost trip over her own legs in the process. Crud!

Her Alakazam followed, and not long after she was seated and able to pull her laptop on her lap. She booted it up and buried her attention onto its screen, keeping her gaze away from looking at any of the others. She didn't want them to think she was staring.

Despite trying her best to close the curtains completely, there was always that little crack at the top that let through the sunlight. Every morning at around 8, a small ray would shine through that crack, right onto Dahlia's face. Normally she would've been up already, so it wouldn't matter. But today it wasn't like that. Dahlia moaned and rolled over to face away from the window, but the damage had already been done. She forcefully closed her eyes in a final attempt to go back to sleep. Just a few minutes...
''...Argh!''
Dahlia sat upright in a flash, pushing her blankets off of her. She moved her hair out of her face and glared at the window. Not like it would glare back. With a sigh she got out of bed. At least she could take it easy; there was still plenty of time until the meeting with Professor Sycamore. Nobody else was in the kitchen or living when she came downstairs, so she quietly fixed herself and the Pokémon breakfast and read a little before heading off.

The weather was nice, and Lumiose was only a short ways from Camphrier Town, so she decided to walk over. Versant Road was always full of Roller Skaters, some of whom Dahlia knew well and used to battle occasionally. But lately she had become famous - or maybe notorious, rather - with them since her team strengthened so much over her last journey to Hoenn. At least she didn't have to worry about random challenges this way.
Soon, the gate to Lumiose City approached. She'd been here so many times, but whenever Dahlia saw that grand gate, she couldn't help but feel a little intimidated. Being from a small town, Lumiose City was so much busier, more exciting, and also attracted different kinds of people than she was used to. Camphrier was only really visited by the more fanatic tourists that wanted to see Shabboneau Castle; most others just passed through on the way to Parfum Palace.

Luckily, Professory Sycamore's lab was practically next to the Route 5 Exit. Along the way, she was curiously looking around; could she see any of the other aides that she was scheduled to meet? There were certainly a few that seemed... different from the folk that usually walked around Lumiose. A pink-haired girl with a small, purple Pokémon on her back flashed by, and there was an Alakazam riding a Mamoswine - oh, and a trainer as well, after all. Both headed into Sycamore's lab, too. This should be interesting.
Dahlia hurried toward the door, nervous but excited. Upon heading inside, she glanced around the room shyly; there were more people already there than she'd imagined. And she was still on the early side, even. Everyone was gathered around a large table, but apparently nobody really felt like talking. Dahlia sat down at one of the center chairs, and quietly said ''Hello,'' with a gentle smile.

Standing in the middle of the room made him feel insecure for some reason. It sent a nervous chill down his back that in turn rattled the fragile material his jacket was made of. He pulled both his hands from pockets as the people continued to pop up. Trainer after trainer made their way in and yet no one really spoke to each other. He wondered why for a moment but quickly came to the conclusion that it didn't matter. It only took one person to spark a reaction.

He turned to look at the new arrivals and noticed, almost immediately, the latest. The other girls were cute in their on way but she was something out of a dream, something... something else. With a pinch of innocence she introduced herself with a sweet smile and "hello".

It stilled him for a moment.

A iron ball formed in his throat and he swallowed it rightfully so. She couldn't be the first he spoke to, she'd only make him look like an idiot. He could see himself now, stumbling over all his sentences. He took another glance over his shoulder at the others seated, the logical choice would be the other male but he looked far older than him.

We probably wouldn't have anything in common, he assumed. It'd be like talking with my seniors from the Academy. He'd just ignored everything I was saying or be wishing I'd leave him alone.

Letting his shoulders sink, he spotted the best candidate out of them all and walked over to her. A small girl, looking far younger than himself and rather blah if he could add, was seated among the others. He had to admit that her charmander hoodie was a great eye-catcher.

Not wanting to frighten her or possibly conjure the wrath of her Alakazam, Kenneth approached her casually and slowly, hopefully announcing himself to her before being too close. Again his hands found their way deeply into his pockets, the black stoned sash on his waist was clacking together as he sauntered over.

"Hmm, hey. Mind if I ask what you're working on?" He was quietly shy and polite, stopping three feet from her. There was a seat next to the purple-haired girl that was empty but he didn't just want to intrude on her. He could feel the slight tremors of a headache approaching; they're was so many variables to meeting new people.

Tabitha "Tanith" Schauer

Once given a computer and a cause, it didn't take Tanith long to get completely lost in her work. As such, in the span of few minutes, the girl had managed to completely immerse herself in the world of ones and zeros, comfortably tapping away at her keyboard to finish the code she'd started to work on back in the glittering Cave. Whatever happened in the world around her was irrelevant. All she had to do was make sure there were no errors - or, heaven forbid, memory leaks - in her work and that it gave the best performance she could hope for.

As such, nothing alerted her to the approaching footsteps of one of the other youngsters or the incoming need for socialization that was sure to follow. The Alakazam was vigilant as ever, however, and the second it realized the boy was coming closer, it gave him an assessing glance to make sure he was no threat. He didn't seem dangerous or carrying any ill-will, so the psychic type didn't act. It was better if his trainer got some practice in socializing, anyway. So all he did was mentally nudge the girl so she wouldn't jump in her seat or, worse yet, throw the boy with her USB-mouse out of surprise. That'd happened before when she was interrupted. Papa knew, because he had been in the receiving end of said mouse.

Someone's here.

I don't care.

No, I mean they're here, here.

... Tch.

Glancing up in mild annoyance over being interrupted, Tanith almost immediately sank back in her seat a little when she saw the boy stand in front of her. W-when'd the guy got that close? He seemed way too tall too, standing up when she was sitting down... Wait, oh no, he wanted to talk, didn't he.

"Hmm, hey. Mind if I ask what you're working on?"

... I do mind. You're interrupting me. Was what she wanted to say, but her lack of the ability to express herself caught up with her and silenced her before she could open her mouth. All she did for a few moments was stare rather blankly at the guy, hands pulling her laptop closer as if looking for cover behind it. Was she supposed to greet him back or something? Did people usually introduce themselves at this point? ... Uh. Well, he'd asked a question, so the logical thing to do was probably to answer, even if the guy was being incredibly nosy. He'd better not try to steal her research. She'd have Mama step on his throat if he did.

"I'm... working on this... um, program," She mumbled out, hesitantly and somewhat coldly. Okay, good start. She breathed, trying to figure out what was the easiest way to explain her work. And then, she just opened her mouth and suddenly, the words flowed out, fast, mechanic and probably half-intangible: "The mineral aggregates found in the Glittering Cave offer a seemingly endless supply of light and if harvested in proper, could offer low-cost lighting to homes the world over. I believe I've isolated the mineral responsible for such behaviour and am now working to analyze and split its structure into manageable sized chunks for efficient research. However, there was a decided lack for a program allowing one to do any of that, so I took it upon myself to write one."

All of that came out in one breath and without a speck of nervousness (or any human emotion, for that matter) visible. She never had any trouble talking about work after all - she wouldn't have gotten this far if she had. Now that her ramble was over, however, her voice grew needlessly quiet again as she finished off with a barely audible and somewhat shaky: "I- I'm almost done."

He wasn't entirely regretting his decision to ask, just a bit overwhelmed and fried after her response. Though he tried his best to listen, the information flew over his head. Leaving him with a blank stare and tightly pressed lips, his small dimples was showing by the time she finished with a systematic answer.

I don't know if she's shy or just trying to hurry me along, he told himself.

Although it was a possibility, he didn't want to believe that a little girl would do him the same way an adult would. The aspect made him frown just a bit. He disliked thinking that his years of traveling had hardened him to others, so he tried his hardest to stay nothing else but himself.

"I wouldn't know too much about that. I work in the fossils department," he said, eye shifting to the ground as he fought for something else to say. "But I've worked closely with Sycamore before, hand chosen actually."

He stuck a harmlessly hand out for her to shake. "I'm Kenneth,"

Blair Addams

Blair blinked twice upon hearing someone near her speak softly, and drew herself out of her desperate attempt to return her breathing to normal. Her brown eyes flicked around, searching for the source of the sound, and quickly fell upon a slender pale skinned girl sitting close by. Had the girl said hello to her? She couldn't quite recall - after all, she hadn't been paying the slightest bit of attention to her surroundings. However, she noticed that Loki had reacted to the girl by shifting so that he was well hidden from her line of view, which was his usual reaction to strangers talking to them. He'd never been too social around others, although he had gotten better since when they'd first met.

Figuring that the girl had spoken to her, she straightened up and gave the girl a bright smile. "Hey there, I'm Blair, nice to meet you."

She felt Loki jab her angrily in the back as she got the girl's response to this. He was probably fairly displeased at her striking up a conversation with someone he didn't know and felt uncomfortable about. Blair felt a flicker of amusement at his response as the both of them knew that he was perfectly capable of leaving if he felt too uncomfortable in a situation. She glanced around the room quickly, noting the people within it. There were five other people in the waiting room now, two guys by themselves, one with a purple halo of curls, another with longer jet black hair. Close by, a dark skinned boy was seeming to attempt to interact with a tiny girl, although it didn't appear to be going overly well. How many more people did the Professor ask over for this meeting? Regardless of the number, she knew that those here would be fairly good at there job. The pink haired girl felt a slight rush of pride upon realizing that clearly, Sycamore thought that she was also competent.

Focusing her attention back on the girl, she asked "So, what kind of stuff have you done for the Professor?"

Dahlia felt a bit silly when nobody replied after saying hello at first. Had she spoken so softly that nobody heard again? That was generally an issue for her when speaking in large groups; in an awkward attempt to address everyone, she had masterfully addressed no-one at all. She looked around, wondering if she should speak up again, when luckily the girl sitting next to her actually replied. The girl had a striking appearance; bright, pink hair with peculiar light brown eyes - and she was dressed in clothes that couldn't help but remind Dahlia of Halloween. There was no mistaking her prowess as one of Sycamore's aides, however. The Key Stone dangling from her belly button was proof of that.
She introduced herself as Blair, and gave Dahlia a friendly smile. In turn, Dahlia perked up and smiled back. ''Nice to meet you too! I'm Dahlia Angstrom,'' she said, reaching with her hand to shake Blair's. She noticed the apprehensive purple Pokémon hiding behind her back as well. When Blair was giving the room a quick once-over, Dahlia tried to look at the Sableye to let it know she wasn't dangerous - but upon noticing how timid the Pokémon was around strangers, she decided it best to leave it be.

''So, what kind of stuff have you done for the professor?'' Blair asked.
It hadn't really occurred to Dahlia that everyone else in this room was one of Sycamore's aides, which meant that they all worked under Sycamore to research Mega Evolution. She suddenly felt a little left out, because in her case 'aiding' meant more like 'data collection', and she hadn't actually met the Professor more than a couple times. She thought a little about her answer before replying.
''Well... I'm an archaeology student. And to put it very simply, I've been researching the mythology and prehistorical origin of Mega Evolution, specifically that related to Rayquaza and the Draconid people.'' Dahlia meant to explain more, but didn't want to overwhelm the girl by going on a tangent about her travels in Hoenn. ''So um, how about you?''

Sycamore's Laboratory
Affected RPer(s): Aegis Zelhart (Ricochett)

Even with his steady pace as he went through the halls, even with his dear Charizard Zelda tailing him happily, and even with the smile slapped on his face, he felt sweaty for when he asked one of the assistants near the entrance when and where the gathering will commence.

The aide answered, "Nine thirty AM, down the hall, to the left."

"Nine thirty?!" he shouted. The reeled back momentarily. Victor, quickly did a fake cough and rubbed the back of his head. "Eh, sorry about that. I didn't mean to be so loud."

"It's all right. I think I get why you did," he reassured him.

Victor laughed rather sheepisly, before waving good-bye with a crooked smile and headed off. That was what he remembered.

I really oughta bring Anthea more often, I keep jumbling up the numbers!

He picked up his pace, the time close to ten o'clock already, which made Zelda speed up as well. Victor veered left and made note of the weird looking plant in the intersection of the hallways, before he continued down the hall. He looked to Zelda, a seeious look on his face.

"Zelda?"

"Ra-u?"

"Remember: don't go berserk from anything they say."

The dwarf crossed her arms and pouted. Her thoughts obvious, but she nonetheless nodded. Victor sighed.

"Thanks girl."

"Ra-o." The girl mumbled as she waved her hand dismissively.

Victor chuckled and turned his head. Just as he collided with someone.

Obviously, he grunted and stumbled back. But he didn't fall over. He could hear Zelda roaring (in a low volume) with outrage and worry. He openned his eyes, which closed thenselves during collision, and saw who he bumped into.

He noticed it was a girl and quickly, he uttered, "Sorry! Uh, are you all right?"

"Alriiiightttyyyy, time to get ready!" There was a cheer and then a thump with an additional cry of an 'Ow!' and a groan. A sound of padding footsteps and another sound not belonging to the first, with a lace of exasperated fondness, "Mawile." The response was a groan and grumbles. The figure gotten up, stretched and walked to the closet. "I'll be careful next time!" A snort of disbelieve escaped from the second one, making the first one pout, "Have faith in me~."

"Mawile!"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm getting ready!"

A rustle of fabric clothes dropping to the ground, rackets of hangers and then more rustles. "Hmmhmm~ Where's my- oh, there it is!" And occasionally mumbles and murmurs coming from one person. A few more minutes- "Ta-da! I'm ready!" The newly dressed figure twirled around for emphasize before they skipped to somewhere in the room, "Where are my things...? Ahh, here we go!"

"'Wile!"

"I'm almost done!"

More noise of padding feet as they scurried around, making some mess without a care in the world, the second figure smaller than the first one just sighed. "Pokeballs, check! Goggles, check! Key Stone, check! Others, check! Aaaand, everything is done, I'm set to go!"

The small figure let out a relieved sound, "Maaawile."

"Oh hush up, it never hurts to get ready, ya know!"

"Mawile!"

"Haha~. Okay then! Let's go, Artemis!"

Aegis, one of our 'heroine' in this story, with blonde hair and amber eyes along with a grin brimming with excitement, could not contain herself, burst out startling the other people on the road, "Oh man, I can smell the adventure to the horizon, Artemis! I can't wait!"

Her partner, Artemis the Mawile, could only look at Aegis with a face that says 'why can't you be more quiet?', her mouth quirk into a small smile though. Perhaps some of Aegis' enthusiasm was rubbing off of her.

They walked inside the Kalos Professor's laboratory hall and asked for directions to where the meeting will began, they walked away when the assistant told them where to go and then Aegis stopped, so close to their destination, bringing her hands up to her chest and clenched them into fists, she had an anticipated expression on her face, one that said she was either too nervous or too scared to go on.

Artemis knew otherwise: Aegis was planning an dramatic and loud entrance, immediately protesting, "Mawile wile maw wile!" The Mawile disagreed, looking at her human partner with a serious face. The girl drooped, pouting and opened her mouth, "Bu-"

She was cut off though, by a collision. Startled, she spun around, avoiding tumbling forward, and blinked rapidly at the person who bumped into her. A male, with a cool hair, tan skin, red eyes, apologized and shot her a question.

Aegis grinned at that, easy-going and showed that she didn't mind, "Naw, that's okay! I'm fine, it's not big deal!" To emphasize, she gave him a thumbs up. Artemis, startled as well, looked at the scene in daze before snapping out of it and fussed over her partner, the human of the two brushed it off, crouching down to pat her head, "I'm alright, Artemis, thanks for your concern."

Standing up, she turned to her fellow human and noticed an Charizard, it was small! Smaller than her too! Before Aegis could even say a 'Wow!' her best friend nudged her, receiving her message, she bid farewell to the two, "Well, if that's all, we'll be going now! Bye!" She waved at them enthusiastically, turning around to start walking, she didn't know he was her fellow aide and continued to walk to the meeting room, never mind if they were following her to the same direction or not.

Once they got there, Aegis didn't waste a single moment and slammed the door open, "I'm here and I'm not late!" She declared, Artemis facepalming in the background, but then saw that the Professor wasn't here. Noticing there were people here as well, some talking to one another, her eyes flickered every one of them and landed on a single mortal sitting on the corner.

Amber eyes narrowing, she scanned the person as if it was her foe and attempt to vanquish this being; purple slick hair, purple eyes and formal clothes. A rich person. Her first thought was 'a conceited b**t*rd!' and proclaimed to herself that he is an enemy and yes, she was currently being childish.

She took a seat, far away from him although still near because she wanted to shoot lasers at him, giving him a mulish expression and a stink-eye. Artemis slapped her thigh, a scolding perhaps? And sighed yet again.

Michael Corn

Kalos Center

There were a lot of people inside the laboratory now and most of them were talking with each other. Corn couldn't care less if someone talks to him or not. Basically, he just needed to see Sycamore and the interaction will probably follow later when all of them knows what their places are and what they should be doing. Corn eyed each one of them. Some of them has their own Pokemon out and judging by the quality of these creatures, Corn concluded that almost all of them inside the room are good Pokemon Trainers, possibly battlers.

One of them, the latest who have arrived has this long blonde hair. It was unnaturally long that Corn was unsure if it was hair or just part of her coat. She was eyeing Corn suspiciously, with her Mawile just beside her. She slapped her thigh and sighed.

"What do you want?" Corn asked the girl. "Is there something on my face?:"

Affected RPer(s): Anyone looking at the door (minorly, seeing as Zelda's very short)

"Naw, that's okay! I'm fine, it's not [a] big deal!" the girl replied before she stood up.

Victor wasn't put off by the fact that she recovered quickly, having seen Zelda do that many times, and Max on a few occasions. He noticed she looked like she was going to say something until her Mawile elbowed her.

The girl was obviously distressed from that but then cheerily said, "Well, if that's all, we'll be going now! Bye!"

Then, as quickly as she recovered, she left, heading in the same direction he was heading. He stared at the spot she dissapeared from his sight for a while. Then he felt something was a little different. So he turned to look at Zelda and saw that she had her jaw open. Victor chuckled at this. That made contort her face to an angry one and she made several growling noises.

"Well, you shouldn't be that surprised. I mean, you do that in apmost every battle."

"Ra-u raw?!" she roared.

Victor rubbed his ears. "Hey, not so loud. But seriously, you do, you know."

Zelda crossed her arms, turned away and made whining noises again.

Victor shook his head with an amused smile. "Come on, we're gonna be even more late at this rate."

He turned once again and went in the same direction as the girl did. Zelda didn't notice Victor left until she looked behind and saw him gone. She exclaimed and ran down the girl's path, complaining while she ran when she heard laughter in the hall.

Victor stopped right before the door to let Zelda catch up. After a minute or so, Zelda arrived, panting, not used to running with the aid of her wings (the hall was too small for her to stretch them, even for her dwarfed size). Victor waited as Zelda caught her breath.

"Wanna go in now?" he asked after about two minutes.

Zelda nodded and the two went inside, with Victor announcing, "Sorry I'm late, I thought the gathering was at a different time." to explain.

Even though he said that, he didn't notice if anyone well, noticed him, as he was looking for a place to sit, happy the professor wasn't here yet. Eventually, Zelda pointed out a seat. When Victor saw wjere it was, he found it was inbetween the trainer he just bumped into and one with an Alakazam. Seeing as there were no other seats, he followed Zelda to it and sat down. Zelda sat down on the floor beside him.

Aegis cocked her head, oh wow he has guts talking to her! She straightened, narrowed her eyes and she felt a warning squeeze on her leg courtesy of Artemis and it made her want to groan. Instead of blowing up, she pursed her lips and then opened her mouth, "You're not a snob, are ya?!" She leaned, just a bit, "Cuz if you are then you'll taste my fist!" For emphasize, she brought her fist up, waving it.

"Mawile." Artemis shook her head, just a tad bit disappointed. Aegis couldn't help it though, no matter who it is as long as they wore fancy clothes, she would automatically think of them as snobs, unless she knew the person already and their personality is, even if she ended up wrong. Was it childish of her to have this view? Hey, she's human, one of her faults was the assumption of rich-looking people to be all snobs unless proven otherwise.

Then she paused and thought. "Hmmm." Squinting her eyes, she inspected him again, "I think I've seen you before..." Aegis tilted her head, staring at the fancy-looking male rather intensely, and then- "Ah!" Smashing her fist onto her open palm, an eureka moment happened, "You're the guy that took the Top 4 of the Kalos League!" She nodded to herself, feeling very proud to remember that. "I watch your match after I finished getting my last Gym Badge, I've gotta say, that's one exciting match though you got toasted." Let it be said that she was not exactly subtle, she could be, but she wasn't.

"I guess you're not a bad guy." Aegis then said after another pause, though slowly and hesitantly, "I mean, you got your Houndoom to mega-evolve so that counts as something..." She trailed off before quickly continuing, "But if you're a snob that I think you are then prepare to face my wrath!" The girl clenched her fists and made a face, quite childish. And what she said was kind of contradicting although expected, this was Aegis Zelhart.

Artemis, her Mawile, shot Corn an apologetic look and also a look that said this was nothing new, it was just her trainer being herself. Then she noticed the trainer that bumped into hers with his Charizard and gave them a nod of acknowledgement, all the while squeezing her human partner's leg, both in warning and to make her sit still before she goes somewhere else just to miss the meeting that would go on. And she thought they were late few minutes ago.
