Is it possible to build a rom port from the actual soul silver game? I mean if you can cut out all the second screen stuff that would rock.
When we download the Live Beta one, does it automatically update or do we have to keep on downloading it over and over again? I'm kinda confused :S

Can you catch a Mudkip in Union Cave or in this game at all? I need to know because If you can catch Mudkip I'll choose Cyndiquil and if you can't I'm picking Totodile.

You'll need to redownload and reapply the patch, but you will NOT need to start a fresh game. A gamesave you have made should be fully compatible with any changes that he, Zeikku or myself make to the ROM.
However - don't save in an area where there is a bug - make sure you save in a room with no bugs. Your room in New Bark Town is a good place, since all that's there is a level script which gets disabled as soon as you start the game.
One thing - DO NOT USE SAVE STATES. It causes major problems with one of the hacks which were applied to the ROM. Just a friendly all round warning. :)
can some one understand those words on cave walls ? this probadly leads to some legendary pokes but i dont know how interpret this :<
Yeah... There are Soul Silver roms out there and DS emulators for them...
You can go get one if you like, though I am not advising it.
I kind of like the feel of Liquid Crystal, though. Soul Silver just felt... off. Too soft and colorful, if that makes any sense. Kind of dumbed down. And there were certain things I didn't like about it, like what they did with the Goldenrod Casino, for one thing.
No see ds emulators are for the computer only I want a gba version of soul silver. That way I can play it on my android device my psp or the wii

Lemme get this straight - You want us to port SoulSilver to the GBA, remove the touch screen stuff, completely downgrade the engine so it can RUN on GBA, downgrade the music so it can be played on GBA - all so you can play it on your phone or Wii?

Yes, you do. However, the dev team of LC, as well as myself - hence why i'm adopting it for the 649 Patch starting from the next release, think it will be a good way to go from now on as it means all these bugs getting reported will be fixed and the fixes will be immediately available to the playing public.
Does the PokeGear work because I want to re-battle these trainers but it keeps on saying that there are no trainers within range even when I'm really close to them.
Well I have built android from source and messed around in a few kernels so I know browsing through layers of code can be difficult. I also know very little about modding gba or ds roms but one would think you have to be about at the limit of the fire red engine. I mean yall have been working on this rom for years, so you tell me.... How much fire is left in the fire red engine? What about the emerald engine? I mean with the DS being were all of nintendos dev action at, can yall continuously port all the changes to the new moves and skills to the fire red engine without problems?
Honestly though this has to be one of the only hacks that has had so much popularity and is actually looking like its gonna be finished. { I think we are all tired of playing unfinished roms } You should also have paypal donation links so we can donate a couple bucks here and there. I wouldnt mind buying yall a beer or soda or whatever......

Not a lot of Fire Red's engine still exists, there's a lot different. The only think I can think of is the intro movie and a few of the in-game similarities.
As for porting a DS game, it's simply not possible - I develop for Android so you'd know the difference between GPU's and how some games simply cannot be ported despite being on the same or similar platform. Let me just say that the GBA only runs 16-32bit colour games, DS runs 256 colours natively. Liquid Crystal is a lot better that HG/ SS. I'm not going to lie; over half these bugs people are reporting look like they're being caused by using the wrong emulator..but I'll have a look.
However; donations seems good only because I broke my touchpad on release day and need to get it fixed. Donatations aren't needed though.
